You've just had a night of the greatest breaks ever. You've had a life changing sunrise conversation on top of the Temple with a panda bear and you even rode on a magic carpet with 20 of your closest friends while bumping Nate Dogg and Warren G's "Regulate"." Now it's time for you to go home and take a nap before you have to get ready for the Black Rock City B-girl/B-boy championships YOU'VE been planning for, well since Thursday of three Burning Man's ago, but you're hungry and if you hear another bar of techno you're going to destroy everything in your path, so what do you do?
If it's Tuesday - Friday, you go to the 3 o'clock plaza and get some pancakes and listen to soft rock at Pancake Playhouse!
Some days they'll have chocolate chip, pecan...well just about any type of pancake you'd want with amazing honey and some days you'll stop by and it'll be the standard-but-oh-so-awesome-on-friday-at-10-am buttermilk pancakes and syrup.
*Hint: If you want to cut the line that sometimes gets to be 75 people deep, bring them some champagne. -

Thank you pancake playhouse, for the sweet treats and the good people. Next time don't have such a long line, ok?

This is the only place in BRC I will eat pancakes! Just thinking of those golden cakes and great soft rock tracks takes me right back to the desert.

I don't even usually like pancakes, but the Playhouse makes 'em just right so you can't get enough. Ask them nicely and you can even get a batch made with their signature ingredient - PBR. Add the daily soft rock sing-a-longs and you have a playa event that can't be missed!

Subtle sounds of soft rock waft out into the playa morning, boys in aprons and hot pants, girls in aprons and pasties, everyone flippin flapjacks. Peach, blueberry, logan berry, strawberry, banana nutella, apple, and what ever flavor creations the fruit donations lend themselves to will be served up with a smile and the fine sounds of REO Speedwagon, George Michael, and Fleetwood Mac.
Bring your own plates and pack your trash, syrup is usually available. A welcoming and shady respite after a long night always. -

When this establishment gets going in the morning you can usually spot a line half a block down the road before you even see the camp. Funny part is, it worth the wait in that morning sun for whatever flavor you're lucky enough to get plopped on your plate - and please do BYOPlate and eating utensils. Most burning man vet's have this idea down, but if you happen upon this place on some magical playa morning unprepared don't worry - not only can pancakes quickly become finger food, they or someone in line will likely be able to help you out if you only ask nicely. Pancake Playhouse is a Black Rock City favorite for sure :)

Don't forget the Bay Area fundraisers for Pancake Playhouse!! They are not to be missed!!! The afternoon get-togethers of instant friendship, pancakes, mini-buttons, action, suspense and adventure! If you're lucky you can go karaoke at a comic book cafe with one of the organizers afterwards. A Burning Man feel with out leaving town. :)

The BEST pancakes at Burning Man! I recommend going with the "omakase" pancake course! :P
