Cafe Nin has some of the best Mexican/ American fushion foods. Their pastries are divine- as should be. As the owner is a world renowned pastry chef.
We came for breakfast and loved it. We also went to their sister business Rosetta.
This place is tucked away in a residential neighborhood and made beautifully.
Do not miss the hot chocolate!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 17, 2024
Very beautiful cafe that utilizes its entire space for its sizable clientele. My friends and I came here around 11am on a Monday morning for breakfast and pan dulce. The restaurant was very busy but we were luckily sat after a 10 minute wait. We were then quickly helped by our waiter and give both Spanish and English menus.
The choices for their pan dulce is plentiful and has quality choices!! We each picked a few and had loved every pick. The creamy pastes were perfect, and the slightly toasted mini conchas were delicious and had a nice flaky texture.
I had a Bloody Mary. It was a good size and comes with a salted rim and 1 green leafy veggie. It was potent, and thick of good tomato taste. I ordered their chicken sandwich which comes with some caramelized onions lettuce sauce and some thin crispy breaded chicken. It was good but not the bee's knee's. My friends all loved their plates.
The tamales were a great addition to our fix. I think these were definitely unique and unlike any other iced had before. Great soft moist texture tamale and had the slight corn savoryness. I'd for sure come back, the inside is a little tight but beautiful. Absolute great brunch experience!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 179112294Jan 8, 2024
Came here to fuel up after our red eye from the states, was so lovely to sit outside in the beautiful neighbor, bright flavors, great latte, yummy guava pastry, and plenty of greenery!
Love me a greenery filled outdoor patio situation, staff were professional, friendly, and attentive! Helped that my partner did all the speaking of Spanish!
My latte was perfect, and all the food was beautifully flavored and plated!
Will come again happily!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 21, 2023
If you are looking for a coffee shop that doesn't just use nespresso as espresso then come here ! They have good coffee but the standout items here would be the pastries and food!
The guava roll is sooooooo sooo delicious and I heard the owner/chef is voted number one pasty chef in the world (sounds exaggerated but that's what the locals told me ) if you're looking for good coffee and a beautiful classic coffee scenery come hereHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Nov 20, 2023
Cafe Nin was yummy. We waited 15 minutes on a Sunday for 2 people and got seated in a great, quite area to the left of the main dining area. The building is beautiful and old.
We ordered the eggs Benedict in puff pastry, goat cheese squash blossom scramble and the honey wheat croissant. The croissant was too dense for my liking, covered in honey so sticky on top and heavy pastry. I prefer lighter and flakier consistency for my croissants. Both entrees were flavorful and unique. The hollandaise was a little on the tart side. They also have lots of tasty looking beverages- I ordered the coconut milk, macadamia nut, cardamom drink. It was extremely sweet which I didn't expect but still good. Solid breakfast.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2726921637Sep 22, 2023
Super long lines, but it was a cute experience. By the time (11am) we got there, it was packed, and we were seated outside after some time. (Would prefer to sit inside, as there were a lot of smokers and engine fuel smell outside). The staff was quick and friendly. They had a few allergy-friendly items as indicated on their menu. I got the baked oatmeal, berries, and oatmeal milk. It was okay, it was missing some depth in flavors.
My group liked their lattes, bakery goods, and sandwiches. Too bad they ran out of their guava roll, which we came here specifically for.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jul 24, 2023
Stopped in for a family breakfast on a Sunday morning during my trip to Mexico City. It was VERY busy but the staff was courteous and on top of the waiting list. For a party of 6 we only waited about 10 mins. There is lots of seating options due to the architecture of the building which made it fun to witness.
As a family we were looking forward to trying a few of their many in house made pan dulce. We decided on the fig croissant, cinnamon roll, and lavender scone. The favorite was the fit croissant! It was soft; flakey, and had a generous amount of fig marmalade. The coffee was a little lackluster for me. My almond milk latte was not foamy at all. It was like drinking a cup of milk. Rest of the fam enjoyed their beverages though! Pretty latte art.
Food:
-chicken focaccia sandwich- main note was it was dry. It needed some sort of sauce or spread.
-hotcakes: these were a hit! Deliciously simple and not overall sweet.
-chilaquiles: verrry acidic and a tad bit mushy. Would not order again. The bacon was also very bland.
-chia pudding: so yummy! Not sweetened so I asked for a side of honey for a drizzle. So delicious and light.
Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast and it's a nice place for a family breakfast/brunch.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 2, 2024
I love how they do their best to seat you right away even though there is number of people waiting out. Great smile on the hostess and this place is oozing of great energy vibe. Seats both outside and inside surrounded with plants is always a good vibe while you enjoy your meal. We enjoyed our huevos rancheros, mole chicken corn husk covered... forgot the name of this tradition, their chilaquiles and of course the guava must pie dessert. Although I would have loved it warm. Coffee was also great. As I looked around what the other tables had, it kept me asking, oooh what's that! So of course, only best to come back here again. Oh well, if only it didn't take a flight to come to you, I'd be here frequent.
