I am a sucker for fresh non-wax fruit.

Found this Farmers Market, doing a coastal stroll.  Oh all the years I've been going to the TJMaxx and Pier 1 mostly during the weekday, but one Sunday afternoon, I spotted the Farmer's Market.  (what a little delight)

As other reviewers will/have said this FM is on the small size. (but perfect)  What you'll need, bet you'll find.   There's about 6 hot food vendors: Teriyaki Chicken, Thai, Tamales, Crepes, Hot Dogs. There's sweet treats: kettle corn and Italian cakes.  Other vendors are: fruit/vegetable farmers, fresh flowers, roasted peanuts, eggs, herbs/spices, salsa made as you're ordering, fresh baked goods (muffins, breads, cookies).

Because of its size, vendor recognize you - I like this :)

I have never tried parking where most people do, (where you see the market)  I park on the pier 1 side and walk up to the market.  Have never had a problem with parking.  And yes this market has a 'No Dogs Allowed sign'
Get out for some air and fresh fruit.

not the biggest farmers market but just right for the location.  my family comes here every Sunday to load up on fresh produce and other items.  make sure to visit:

    1.  La Bahn Ranch's egg stand -  good selection of eggs and very very fresh.  We always get the jumbo browns @ $3.90 a dozen.  the egg yolk is super orange and the flavor is fantastic.

    2.  the Fish girl - not sure what her name is (I'll find out next time) but she has the best selection of fresh fish...sushi grade tuna, wild salmon, halibut, mussels, oysters, cobia (sometimes) and live lobsters (sometimes).  Tell her what flavors and textures you enjoy and she'll pick the right fish for you.  She also has a good selection of smoked fish (made in house) and poke.  Cash and check only.

    3.  Japanese family hydoponically grown veggie stand (i'll get the name next week).  Super fresh veggies!

    Love the banjo player!

    WARNING WARNING WARNING
The Nut vendor from Lancaster  aka: Alex's Fruit's and nuts :
Does not use safe food handling practices.  I have gotten a serious bacterial infection from the almonds and while warning friends, have found out others have gotten ill or have had serious bug infestations from walnuts sold by this vendor. This bacterial infection landed me in the hospital with over 18 hours of vomitting and bloody stool.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR. I am reporting them to the CDC and any other agency that will listen.

Compared to Torrance Farmers Market, it is not that impressive...however, farmers markets are generally good for taking a stroll with the family and the newborn.

It is nice to have the option on a Sunday,

    The Five Senses...

We went to Palos Verdes Farmer's Market on a cold, blustery Sunday morning, a day when the winds had blown all the dirt from the air leaving LA looking like a vast slice of majestic urban sprawl meets forested paradise. Its days like this I am in awe of how beautiful our city can be and there are few places as enjoyable to witness this glory than from the top of Palos Verdes. From Santa Catalina Island and across the Santa Monica Bay and all the way to the San Gabriel and San Bernardino mountains, our piece of Southern California shone with unimagined clarity. It won't take long before the smog and marine layer return the view to normal urban blight.

    However...

I've been told my sense of smell is canine-like. And since quitting smoking decades ago, I would agree that, at times, this sense can seem uncanny. As we approached the Farmer's Market, I was assailed with intoxicating aromas of grilled meats; steamed spiced rices, tapas and tacos; fresh vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits; custom soaps and handmade conifer gifts. Samples abounded everywhere and if you were hungry, your need could be satisfied simply tasting the offerings. With visibility so uncommonly clear and the smells filling my brain to overload, it was the twang of the old banjo player that now satisfied my aural sense.

What a great place to enjoy inexpensive fresh market goods, unrivaled views and Mr. Bojangles strumming the banjo while perched on a chair right in the middle of this small, compact unhurried and happy market.

Appropriately, the sense of touch was provided by the bf's arm around my waist and his lips on my neck. But in actuality, he was satisfying all five of my senses all by himself.

    SMALL BUT GREAT!

This is held in one of the smaller parking lots inside a shopping center so once you're done with the Farmers Market, you can stroll around and kill an afternoon here (Starbucks, restaurants, furniture, clothing, etc.) and maybe settle some errands (UPS and USPS offices).

Don't expect anything huge when you come, but DO expect to find a lot of produce, flowers, and food vendors. They've done a really good job of fitting a wide diversity into a single parking lot (more like 1/5 of a parking lot).

3 short rows of produce, flowers, raw foods, and prepared foods. Aside from the amazing selection of fruits and vegetables, there's also...

    BACON WRAPPED SAUSAGES
Turkey dogs / Sausages / etc.
    Indian food
    Chinese
    Crepes
    Thai
    Kettle Corn
    Pervuain
    Peanuts

I know I'm forgetting stuff but it's definitely worth an hour or so just to walk around and sample the fruits.

Friendly vendors and good pricing when you buy by the basket (fruit).

$4.50 for 1 basket or $8 for two (plums, nectarines, peaches, etc.).

Quaint, cozy, and welcoming. Definitely makes coming to work on Sundays worthwhile.

The Hill has a Farmer's Market? Who Knew? I did.... It's held every Sunday morning from 9am-1pm in the Peninsula Center Shopping Center between Starbucks, Pinkberry, SteinMart and PetCo.

For such a small Farmer's Market they pretty much cover the gamete and have a lot of variety. They don't have as much prepared food booths to grab lunch at like other FM's but they do have a lot of vendors to do grocery shopping from and buy unique things like nuts, olives, plants and baked goods.

Parking can be difficult at times, but if you're willing to park on the other side of the shopping center in a different part of the parking lot and walk a bit it's not too bad.

I love this FM...have been coming here a few years now and drive the punks up every Sunday morning from Redondo (even though there are closer ones to my house).  Ha's Apple Farm consistently has good fujis, the kettle korn stand is killer & pops fresh all day, the seniors at the Market Manager stand give out free balloons to the kids and yes the fresh roasted peanuts are heavenly.  It is not the largest of markets but really relaxed and nice to just walk around in.  Also, the Hallmark store that is adjacent sells the Chinese newspaper which is nice since my mother-in-law likes to read it.

    I love this FM!

After reading a review of this location, I learned that I am defined as a hill dweller and a proud one at that. Most every Sunday, I meet my mother and walk to the farmer's market. Its our mother/daughter Sunday morning thing. We park in one of the smaller parking lots with plenty of spots and walk down the paved pedestrian walkway to the market. Here is where fresh produce abounds, as do flowers, free range eggs and cooked tasty morsels too. It is an uncrowded, local, relaxed atmosphere. From the banjo playing entertainer there rain or shine, to the girl scouts selling cookies this week, it has a local PV flavor. I have been to Torrance's and Hermosa Beach's too, while more selection is on display, this one is more of a leisurely stroll as you pick up your fruit and veg for the week. The flowers I bought here last week lasted 14 days on display, that's FRESH...enough said.

I love that this little farmers market is here every sunday and that Its easy walking distance from my house.  No dogs allowed, but we carry our little pup and no one seems to mind or take notice.  Theres a few food vendors, none of which I've tried, but food smells and looks yummy.  Fresh fruit and vegetables of all kinds, and moderately priced as well.  Just this morning I bought a bag of tomatoes (2 lbs) for $3 and a great big bag of mini avocados (probably about 10 of 'em) for $3.  Fresh flowers and jewelry as well.  Great local place to visit.

How ya doin', suburbia?! My parents have been shopping at this farmers market for ages and love it so much that they go there weekly, even if they only need to buy one thing. The thing my dad needed on Sunday was oranges so I tagged along and marveled at Bertha's homemade tamale stand, which was flanked by a pineapple BBQed meats stand and a creperie manned by beret-wearing, German-speaking women. When did you get all internacional, PV? Along another row was a heavenly spread of stone fruit samples - probably 14 different kinds - which was a row over from a seafood supplier who was stirring a pan of swordfish with fresh herbs and preserved meyer lemon. I wouldn't necessarily drive up to Green Sticks to go here unless I lived in a farmers market-less hell hole, but it's a definite treasure for hill-dwellers.

I expected more posh nosh, but I was not too disappointed.  I still think the Hermosa Farmer's Market on Fridays is the best in the area.

The produce at this farmer's market is alright -- nothing too great or tasty.  When I go to a farmer's market, I want to be able to smell the veggies and spices from 10 feet away.  Here, not so much.  There were a couple of great looking veggie stands with fresh brussel sprouts and carrots, but overall the produce was underwhelming.  Mind you, it could be because it is December, but I know there is some lovely winter produce to be had.

There are a couple of interesting bread booths -- just ate half of demi-baguette and it was very good!  I got some spicy hummus from some French speaking gentlemen.  The pompous P.V. dwellers were trying their best to parlez avec les messieurs, mais ils ont pathetiques.

There was also a crepe stand.  I did not try it, but I may have to come back just for that.  There is nothing more tasty than a warm crepe on a cold winter day.

Pretty small and quaint but they have some good finds. All your regular stuff: bread, veggies, flowers, peanuts... They also had some food vendors: Thai, Mexican tamales, and Brazilian BBQ. I'll definitely be stopping by again. I wish it was a bit bigger but this is way up on the hill.

when i was a kid, pv never had something as much fun and as regular as a farmer's market. flash forward to when i move out and go to college, the hill decides to get hipper and more fun.... farmer's market every sunday! yeah yeah i know. its not exactly super "hip" or super "fun", but it definitely gives the locals a great place to catch up and get some great produce.

i rolled over to the farmers market today to get some fresh fruit for my fresh fruit salsa (yum, huh?). i was so happy to find the most delicious produce.... juicy peaches, sweet pluots, ripe nectarines, and super sweet grapes... all for $5! how can you beat that? i also got these tomatoes that were as big as my head and just fantastic looking. we'll see if they taste great :)

this farmers market has food (hot dogs, crepes, thai food, seafood paella, and brazilian bbq) and sometimes local vendors (other than the farmers) come here to pedal their wares. ive found some pretty cute and unique items when walking around.

the market is open from 9a - 1pm, but the earlier you get there the better. you can always get the super good stuff in the morning. oh and don't forget the yummy salted peanuts. those are addicting!

try parking in the lot diagonal to the starbucks. you'll have an easier time parking there than directily in the farmers market lot. so slap on your sun screen, a pair of shorts, and enjoy walking around :)

Nice little farmers market wedged into a shopping center parking lot up on the hill.  Lots of fresh fruits and veggies.  Not very many eateries but still worth it.

Basically the same as the farmer's market in Manhattan Beach. Not as much organic produce as the one in Torrance, though. It'll do if you live nearby, but it's not something I'd go out of my way for.
