Palos Verdes Golf & Country Club
3 reviews for Palos Verdes Golf & Country Club
It's easy to love Palos Verdes. The spectacular ocean views, the gorgeous homes, the prevalence of horse trails and golf courses, and George Takei (who I love) calls it home.
So, here's one more reason to love PV: the Palos Verdes Golf & Country Club.
This is an absolutely gorgeous golf course. The course itself is flawless; it is landscaped to perfection. The facilities are also very nice. The country club has a warm, inviting feel; the main building has lots of rich, dark wood, a roaring fireplace, terraces overlooking the greens and the ocean.
Of all the places we looked at for our wedding reception, this one was second only to the Trump National Golf Club. It was on the higher side of our budget, but still within our price range, which I think is average for a wedding with 150 guests.
We were assisted by Michelle, who was very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend working with her if you are looking to plan an event here.
Although we didn't end up choosing this place for our reception, we really enjoyed coming to see the Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club multiple times.
In sum, this is a lovely golf course and country club. It doesn't get much better than this!
This review is for the Country Club, not the golf course.
Very few of you will know that I'm a wedding planner by referral only. I'd say that this place is really gorgeous, wonderfully staffed, and the people are willing to work with you. Except that when my client/friend/bride is about to get married, the changing room will have to meet our expectations. No cookie crumbs, half empty champagne bottles, and a stinky platter of cheese and stale crackers. That is the last thing a bride needs when she walks into her changing room 1 hour before her wedding ceremony. However, I do commend their fast and quick service to clean that up right away, minutes after my talk with the kitchen manager.
So, the stairs lead you up to the changing room. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything to rope off the stairwell, so we had to use her photo frame designed to look like a room divider she brought from home. Still, it didn't stop guests from wondering where that room would lead you to.
Ceremony time: Everything went smoothly, since I was in charge.
Reception time: I cued the servers to bring out the food since it was time to serve the guests. I mean, I even announced that food would be served, but food was NOT served until 15 minutes later. I had to tell the kitchen manager 2 times about serving them food. Other than that, we didn't have any more complaints.
In a nutshell, I'd say this place was overall beautiful (especially if you LOVE golf), but I would never refer a client to pay that much for what I can get elsewhere.
Recently attended a wedding here on Sunday, and it was absolutely beautiful. Typically in weddings, the wedding planners and the decorations really make the wedding.. but in this case the setting was the perfect compliment to the plans and ideas!
When walking in, I actually thought it was quite small.. but in reality the main entrance leads to a handful of other rooms, not to mention the beautiful outdoor area overlooking the well-polished golf course.
Bartenders were amazing... Delfino and Gregorio. They were that amazing that I remembered their name! Though my gripe at the bar was that they did not have any red bull! Seeing as to how Red Bull is a staple nowadays - it makes zero sense to me that they did not have any!!!
