This overlook runs along the tiny residential street of Via De Las Olas, and is apparently part of Palisades Park up by the library. I've reviewed that park already though, and since the two are not really connected by trails (as far as I know, or maybe they are?).....
I will call this the bluffs park
It's an overlook moreso than a real park. It's across the street from the beautiful homes on the east side of Via De Las Olas, and the road has always been partially blocked off, I assume to limit visitor traffic. Yesterday I saw a horde of bulldozers and other heavy equipment parked there, so I wonder if they are planning to work on that decaying stretch of residential street. The fence along the bluff is kinda shot, too. In fact the place is all run down, generally!! Haha but that adds rustic charm in many ways, to the 5 star views.
Lots of people know about the overlook at the far north end of this park. It's above Temescal Canyon Road and Will Rogers Beach.
Asilomar Park is on the other side of Temescal.
I've been coming to Via De Las Olas bluff since I moved to LA. It has one of the best views in all LA. You get the hills and ocean to the north, and to the south you see a distant view of Santa Monica Pier.
There are benches, it's never crowded. It's peaceful.
There is a path that goes all the way down to PCH....along the side of the bluff. Scary! Haha I am never going on it, not in this lifetime. But I creeped over to the edge of the bluff just to take photos of it. Eeeek.....
Anyways, this is a spot you must visit if in the area. Outstanding, stunning views. You will want to linger, I guarantee.

Thank you so much for writing this review! Went up here for the sunset. Really loved the view both north and south. Just like the pictures.
