5 reviews for Palermo's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria
Well, I am giving one star because it doesn't allow 0. My boyfriend and I were (and still are) on a road trip across the country. I have never been to Chicago and this was the only stop we were making there after driving for 8 hours. We looked on yelp and saw this was a great pizza place so made our way.
When we got there it was around 8pm and they close at 9. When we first walked in they said, umm we're closing soon. Ah hour? Is it that soon? So we were like well can we just order one pizza? So they sighed and said sure, fine. We knew they wanted to close and so we ordered practically instantly. Asked for a deep dish chicago style simple pizza. They told us it would take too long and that we couldnt get it. So we left. Assholes.
I understand coming into a restaurant late sucks for the people that work there, i've been that employee. But an hour is not that bad and I had never been to Chicago, nor do i really feel like going back anytime soon.
Point being, that was just a shitty experience, and I ate at White Castle for the first time after we left that joint. I wasn't a big fan of the food but the service was a MILLION times better. Haha at White Castle.
Their sweet sauce makes their stuffed and thin crust pizza pretty fantastic
this review is for the chicago style pizza served at the belmont arts and music festival. i had only the cheese but it was amazing: not too greasy, great cheese, great crust! thanks to the volunteers who served me also :) i will be making a stop there into the northside location soon for more..probably not for another few months though. i am not sure my body will forgive me if i go sooner hehe.
absolutely the best thick crust pizza ever.
I will Say No more It was that incredible.
updated review:consistently the best thick/thin crust we've had in chicago.

History
Established in 1961
Started on the Southside in 1961, Palermo's has been offering authentic Italian food for almost 50 years. In 2005 we opened up on the Northside for the first time. Located inside Red Ivy in the Wrigleyville neighborhood we are now offering our Sicilian sweet sauce pizza to Cubs Fans. Come in and experience the same Southside taste with our great Northside location.
Meet the Manager: Scott W.
I have been with Palermo's Red Ivy since it opened in November of 2005. It's a great place, and I'm always working to keep things exciting with new promotions and different specials. I was originally a bartender and spent a number of years in the Advertising industry. I've taken that experience and put it into my position at Red Ivy and I really enjoy it. Come in sometime and try the pizza, its my favorite.
