This Sunday my girlfriend and I decided to stop in and check out Pak Oriental Rugs. We were originally looking for something modern, but decided to take a look, and we were glad we did. It was a really great, educational experience looking at all of the beautiful rugs that they have in stock. Ahmed helped us find a style and price-point we were interested in (we were into more modern than traditional), and let us take the rug home for a day to try out. No problems when it didn't work out!
The best part was the low-pressure, truly enjoyable experience of checking out the rugs. I highly recommend this place, even if you're just curious what beautiful, hand-made rugs are all about. -

We visited Pak Oriental Rugs on a Saturday looking for a couple different sizes of oriental rugs, and found Ahmed and both his associates Jorge/aka George and Jorge very very helpful. Ahmed showed us hundreds of rugs for the sizes we were seeking, many quite beautiful, and we drove off with several possibilities to try in our home. One paired set of runner rugs worked just fine in a hallway, but we decided we needed a larger than expected rug in the main room. So, back to Pak, where Ahmed found us just what we were looking for, a large, fine quality rug recently sent over from their Pakistan operations. All was very welcoming, highly informative, with no pressure and good pricing. Jorge & Jorge did a great job delivering (5 flights of stairs!) and installing the rugs, and bringing us rug pads to keep them from slipping.

I had a great experience buying from the father/son team at Pak Oriental rugs. They are good people and honest businessmen. They had a great selection and were comfortable to deal with, unlike a number of the other rug dealers in the design district who try to bilk you out of every single dollar (and probably working in cahoots with your designer!) As for selection, they had a good selection with a handful of specialty stuff you don't typically see. I feel like they are really running their business for the long haul, versus flipping unsuspecting customers. I want to support business and people like that... and get a good deal at the same time. You can do that at Pak.

Wow, talk about life savers!
Magenta ink spilled on a very expensive 12' x 4' cream and grey handmade special order 100% wild silk rug. I was beyond frantic and called Pak Oriental Rug. They were closed for the night but the following day, they phoned me, came to the house and took the rug away immediately.
While it was being cleaned and repaired Anjum would phone me to let me know the progress and assure me that all was going to be okay. He was very thorough, very professional, very straight forward.
The rug was cleaned/repaired perfectly, you cannot even tell there was anything ever spilled on it! I hope and pray that nothing like this ever happens to the other rugs but at least I know that if it does Pak Oriental Rugs can save the day. True professionals. -

My husband and I looked at Pak rugs online and saw so many beautiful ones that we decided to go to the store and check them out. Anjum was terrific, spending a great deal of time with us, taking into consideration our budget as well as our desire for a silk and wool design that would work with a rug we already owned. Anjum gave us a great deal, after guiding us through a long process of choosing several, refining our choices, and finally picking one. The men who helped him by turning, pulling out, and moving various rugs were infinitely patient, and we are delighted with our rug.

We bought our first rug from Pak Oriental Rugs two years ago, and they were such a pleasure to deal with that we just bought a second rug from them. Both times, we dealt with Ahmed and found him to be incredibly friendly, knowledge, and professional. It's never "fun" to drop this kind of money but what you end up with is a top-quality investment from a company that will take care of you (and your investment) for the rest of your life. That's rare...and that's valuable...and that's why we go back to them. And that's why we recommend our friends to them, too!

My husband and I recently moved and were on the hunt for rugs. We wanted to continue to family tradition of collecting and using very fine oriental rugs in our home. We were delighted by both the quality and service at Pak Oriental. Ahmed was extremely helpful, listened to what we were looking for, helped us narrow down the options and let us test out the rugs in our home. He called us to check in, pulled rugs aside for us that he thought would work, and was extremely kind and flexible - without being pushy. We view this as an investment in art. Just like any gallery owner, the staff has a passion for their art and a vested interest in making sure the buyer makes an investment in something they will want to use forever. We HIGHLY recommend this place!!

I highly recommend Pak Oriental Rug for anyone who is shopping for rugs. They have an outstanding selection and often get new rugs in there store, so they aren't trying to sell rugs that are picked over, like many other rug stores. I'm guessing that they can turn their inventory over quicker and get new rugs since they sell them at wholesale prices and have lots of large retail customers. Although, unlike many other rug stores, Pak gives ALL their customers excellent, wholesale pricing for their high-quality imported rugs.
I've shopped at many other rug stores in NYC, LA, and all of SF including the design center, and I keep coming back to Pak. I like the way they do business with their customers and they aren't pushy and they will let you take the rug home to see how it looks, before committing to make a purchase. Many times I have returned rugs that didn't work out in my house, and they don't give me a hard time or make me feel like a jerk for bringing it back. More often than not, I'm happy with my rug choice and decide to keep them after bringing it home. My rugs from Pak look beautiful in my home and wear very well over time and I get lots of complements on them. I've never regretted a purchase made at this store, like I have at some others (don't ask me how many rugs from other places I have in my attic).
In summary, I recommend that everyone begin their rug search at Pak because they such an amazing selection, fabulous prices, and they make the whole process very easy and pleasant. On a personal note, I would like to thank Pak for providing SF with a terrific store that imports beautiful rugs and sells them to the public for reasonable, fair prices. I will be back soon and, P.S., I need a 12' runner in my usual, muted colors with an old world, antique look. I'll see you soon!!! -

Beautiful rugs, wonderful people. Anjum, the proprietor, is a wonderful salesman, polite and kind in an industry that is often characterized by snobby sales associates. He let me "test drive" a rug before buying to make sure it fit in the space and felt right in our apartment. The pricing was very reasonable for the quality and he threw in a complimentary pad.

I completely agree with Baiyina H., I had a really nice experience working with Pak Oriental Rugs. I've been to a number of rug stores throughout the Bay Area and am usually turned off by the "typical persian rug salesman". I didn't get that feeling at all at Pak. From the moment I walked in to the moment I purchased my beautiful rugs. It was a hassle free, no pressure process.
I came to learn that at Pak Oriental Rugs no one works on commission so the staff doesn't feel the need to pressure customers unlike my experiences at other stores. This was my most transparent, informative rug buying experience ever and they had the best selection I had seen anywhere. I will definitely be back.
I still have my living room and dining room spaces to do. With so many rugs, I'm looking forward to looking for those when I get back from vacation. Another nice perk was they let me test drive the rug before I bought it. I love my family room rug! Thank you everyone at Pak Oriental! -

We went to Pak Oriental today looking for a new rug. Both the owner and son were wonderful and very knowledgeable. We fell in love with one of their oushak rugs but it was above our budget. We are still looking for the one....

I recently worked with Ahmed from Pak Oriental Rugs. Not only was the process easy and fun, I found the most beautiful, high-end rug at a reasonable price. As a designer, I rely on knowledgeable and flexible service. After selecting my top two choices I was able to review the rug in home at my project location. The rug we purchased is hand-knotted from vegetable dyed 100% hand spun wool and based on an ancient technique and design from the region where the Taj Mahal is located. The amount of work that goes into a rug of this caliber is impressive and I am absolutely thrilled with the quality and beauty of the rug. Thank you Ahmed!

I recently worked with Ahmed from Pak oriental rugs and found the experience to be wonderful. You can't get any better with the customer service. They actually brought the carpet to my home so i could see it in the space. Turns out it worked great(and i have been looking for a rug for awhile). The price was reasonable and the quality was superb. I would highly recommend shopping here. I am actually going back for more rugs very soon!
