The Padre Picnic Area was the site of the Berkeley High School's 70's (Alumni) Reunion Picnic. This facility has 2 seating areas with picnic tables and benches and 1 barbeque pit, parking and a bathroom. The facility was great! The bathrooms were clean and well maintained and the area was is great condition.
I would recommend that you consider "preparing" your food in advance, as the grill really isn't big enough to accomodate 150 people. However, the large field is great for spreading out, kite flying, tossing the old football, or maybe hosting a wedding, birthday, quincinera, bar/bat mitzvah or a christing... so many options and such a great location. Convenient to all of the East Bay and Contra Costa also. -

Yes this park rocks. We have our yearly work picnic here and we just love it, its private, its got its own parking area and decent restrooms. The frolicking area is ample for our group to set up a volleyball and soccer area. The drive to get there is also fun, definitely recommend this place for your picnicking needs!
