They mean well.  You can tell that they do.  But grad students aren't the best counselors if you're looking for someone to do more than just listen.  I was assigned to a very nice girl (who was younger than me!) and I felt bad quitting, but even $20 a week was too much to pay for help that wasn't helping.

They're very by-the-book here, as most students of psychology are.  They know the theory, but haven't had time to develop clinical knowledge.  If you're looking for guidance, find some place else to get your issues sorted out.
