Pricey place for Asian food. But then again, whenever they have Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Korean under one roof, it just means they're not an expert in any one cuisine. It's like they treat any cuisine with rice as one cuisine. Idiots. When's the last time you go to a Italian/French/German restaurant?
The sea bass bento's decent. if you carry out, it comes with a very stingy portion of rice. The korean spicy noodle is a Chinese spicy noodle dish.
No comprendo all the bad reviews about this place?
Me gusta!!
Ok fine, the service is terrible and there never seems to be many customers in the place. But who cares. They know how to make Kung Pao shrimp with just the right amount of spice and peanuts, excellent Hunan chicken with tangy sauce, and some sweet and spicy Hot and Sour soup.
That's all I care about.
I usually just have to get up and bring the bill to the cash register myself. But who cares. Anything for that heart-burn feeling inside after a plate of one of their spicy dishes. Mmmm...
I have never eaten in here, but I have ordered takeout several times. Its prettty ok. Its usually ready and waiting when I get there, I only have 45 minutes for lunch, so I like that I don't usually have to wait. I'm kind of picky and they never hassle me about my pad thai with no sprouts add mushrooms tofu only order. One tip is to be sure to order your sides, like hot sauce, with the main order cause if you don't you'll have to wait for it. Maybe they make it fresh back there...? Hmm... probably not.
Anyway, its not horrible, but its not insanely delicious either. Good place for lunch takeout.
Waitresses are never around, food is alright, definitely a little overpriced.
$13 for a miso and a bento box with tempura some california rolls and a little sashimi is a little high.
I wonder about their Thai food, maybe I will check it out some time.
The waitresses just kinda "disappeared" a few times and the service was a little slow, but I don't know why people are aiming for two stars. It's not *THAT* bad.
I was impressed that they had natto maki rolls.
The spicy eggplant on the Chinese side of the menu had some strange smokey bitterness to it. But I enjoyed my gigantic bowl of udon. Both dishes were way too hot when they came out to our table. But I'd take that over too cold.
Don't have a lot of time to write a large review.
1) Do not order the expensive sushi rolls. ($10.99) They are not fresh and it looks like the same type you get at an all you can eat chinese buffet (which I love indeed - I'm Asian American), but I hardly even eat the sushi at buffets. The sushi was not fresh (Tuna).
2) I also ordered the Spicy Seafood Noodle soup ($9.99). The seafood was soso, and the scallops were hard. The flavor of the soup was alright.
3) Service: SUCKED. The girl wasn't kind and asked for us to pay earlier as she was leaving. I didn't get enough water refills.
If you like neon colored Pad Thai with half cooked chicken, cold, soggy egg rolls, tasteless curry, and sushi that smells like it was from last month, then you will love this place. Top this off with rude/slow service by a magically disappearing waitress and you're in for a real treat. I normally love all kinds of Asian food, but this was pretty bad. There are so many places close by with decent Asian food so you are better off going elsewhere.
So their food isn't terrible where you feel sick for hours afterwards. But its close. The food is blah. Both the sushi and the other food. I've tried a few things and all blah. The only reason I've been here a few times is my friend who is allergic to seafood likes their beef roll. And even that has very tough beef in it.
Service is always crap. It's never ever been packed when I've gone there and service is just always aweful. They take forever to take your order, bring your order, bring your check, etc. I think you get the picture. Slow and RUDE. I've also had better sushi (not to mention cheaper) at little hole in the wall sushi places then here. They charge way to much for such mediocre food.
Every time I walk out of there I feel like I have wasted my money and my time. Also, their sushi serving size leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, a big no.
My daughter and I stopped off for a bubble tea here. It was an off hour, after lunch/before dinner and there were maybe three couples eating. Nobody seemed to now how to make one, even though they sell them. I guess the bubble tea chef was off that day. We waited about fifteen minutes for our bubble tea smoothies. By far, the worst I have ever tasted...the tapioca pearls must have been cooked when Christ died, they were tastless and decomposing mush. We both tossed our drinks after two sips.
Can't vouch for the food, it may be very good but never get a bubble tea here.
It is in a strip mall but the decor is tasteful, it is a larger space so it is good for groups or families with kids. We had sushi, tempura & teriyaki- all were very tasty. It is a great local option for an impromptu night out with the kids.We were happily surprised & we plan to go back again.
This restaurant was not what I thought it would be-Oysy sushi restaurant. It has two menu-one for sushi and another for Pan-Asian. The service was extremely slow and to my delight, I ordered the salmon bento box. It came out with my California maki thinner than my finger with just rice and one thin slice of cucumber. Whoa! What happened there? What happened to the rest of my maki roll? Did I pay full price for a California maki that's barely there. What happened to avocado, crab stick and the rest of the filling? My husband ordered the edamame. The edamame came out cold and bland tasting. This restaurant really made a day! I was so unhappy here and I vowed never to return here again.
This review is based off getting carry out for dinner. I can't say I was impressed with the looks of this place. It looks like when they built it , they were going for a bit of a higher end place. Sadly , now it seems a bit run down, especially the bathroom. The service was fine, as good as you can expect from carry out, nothing spectacular. My main gripe was that the rolls were a bit on the droopy side, not exactly falling apart, but almost. As far as taste goes, I got the Scallop roll which was just good. The spicy tuna's texture wasn't great, it was a little mushy, but on taste it did score a solid good. The star of the day was the spider roll, and even that was just a notch above good. If this was a storefront place that relied purely on the food, it scored 3 stars. If you are going here to eat somewhere nice, you might want to find somewhere else. As another reviewer stated , they are a bit on the pricey side.
I love this place. It's not the best pan-Asian place around, but I love their diverse menu (you can choose from Japanese, Thai, Chinese, and Korean). It's near lots of shopping, which is nice for a mid-day meal.
Expensive. It's more pan-Asian than Japanese as attested by two different menus. It's definitely not what I had grown accustomed to with the other two Oysys restaurants in Chicago, which tends to serve a wider variety of Japanese cuisines and tapas-size dishes. The service was only ok. Overall, I was left with a pretty expensive lunch bento box that barely satisfied half of my appetitie.
Love this place. Never had bad food yet. Not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from. The sushi is fresh and all food is very well presented. GREAT and Friendly service, large portions of food such as fried rice and huge bento box's. I highly recommend the teri steak bento box!
This place was huge, situated in a mall. It's combined with Oysy sushi restaurant. Great! We can order both and we did. Food was good. The tuna tartare with caviar was not what I expected! Service was fine.
