Pacific Grill is the reverse mullet of restaurants. Party in the front and no business in the rear.

At least that was my impression on a Saturday night. I wasn't sure how busy restaurants would be in the area, so I made a reservation in advance for dinner through OpenTable. Then right before we arrived, I started reading the reviews in more detail. And I realized that the people who loved it went to Happy Hour.

This was reinforced when we approached the restaurant, I gazed through the windows and noticed that the bar was packed, but not a single table in the large restaurant was occupied. Mystifying since my reservation options were 5:30 or 7:15p. So, I cancelled our dinner reservation and headed to the bar. We had a great time.

Happy Hour is a great option for diners, I just don't know how well it works out for the business. They are pretty much shooting themselves in the foot. Almost all menu items (exclusions are clearly noted) are half price... ALL NIGHT and most of the day during the week:

    11:30am - 10pm Mon - Thurs
    11:30am - 11pm Friday
    5pm - 11pm Saturday

Seriously great deal and I didn't feel like they skimped on portion size. Good cocktails, personable bartender and fun atmosphere... in the bar. Favorite items we ordered were the Beet & Plum Salad and the Gentleman's Jack & Ginger. The menu is massive and all over the map, with a good portion dedicated to Asian-fusion.

I won't go so far as to say that the food or drinks were the best thing ever, but I would wager this is pretty high on the Tacoma scale. When we were wandering the streets and talking to locals, almost all of them mentioned Pacific Grill. And if you are staying at the Hotel Murano, it was just a few minutes away by foot. One other thing to note is that we loved the brick walls and high ceilings, but there were no TVs in the bar. So they are going for a bit of an upscale experience and it isn't a place to go to watch the game.

So I'll say it again... Happy Hour, Happy Hour, Happy Hour!

Solid 3 stars. Let me explain.

Service. Our waitress was bright, knowledgable and very helpful. She seemed to be where we needed her and not overly obtrusive. She also did get the manager at a very appropriate time. More on that below.

Ambience. Great! Nice and cozy, low lighting that is perfect for a date and just as useful for a corporate dinner.

Drinks. Solid wine selection and their Gentlemans Jack and Ginger is quite good.

Food. Ah here's where the restaurant fell flat. Ordered the crab "hushpuppies" which were tasty but had a horrible presentation. Just four fried balls on some scattered greens. Same with the house caesar salad. Just some lettuce chopped and with sauce drizzled over it. Worse, the home made Caesar dressing had almost NO taste of anchovies in it. My wife and I waited a good 30 minutes for the steaks we ordered to come out and when they did, the chefs had overdone them. Badly. Her rare was a medium rare (more medium) and my medium rare was closer to medium well. Also, again with boring and uninspired presentation.

This is where the service really stepped up. The waitress did her customary how is your food cooked and then when finding we weren't happy, promptly got the manager and clued her in. Prior to that she did offer to have another steak cooked but we did not feel like waiting another 30 minutes. The manager came over and apologized and took my wife's steak off the bill without prompting. A very appropriate response.

All in all, we will be back to try this place again. We are starved for quality dining here in WA. So far, we have been dissatisfied with most places. Pacific Grill was looking promising until the aforementioned. But, definitely will give it at least one more chance.

With all of the swank going on over here, I seem to forget how nice the Tacoma waterfront is.  Such dim lighting always makes me feel sexy, and the smiles that the staff had while they greeted me, seated me, and took my order made me wondering if this was an upscale Cheers.  It was pretty busy for Happy Hour, but the service was quick!  Blue cheese tater tots and crab hush puppies were some of things that I happily sampled while sipping on my $5 glasses of house wine.  It's wonderful to see that the HH bar menu wasn't restricted to just appetizer fare and I love how they had so many options to choose from.

Random observation was that their bathrooms were so pretty and I found myself taking mental decorating notes as I was handling my business.  I know, TMI.

I drop by the Pacific Grill once to twice per month for their Happy Hour.  The food is real good and if you sit in the bar its always 50% off.  My favorite dishes are the Cheeseburger Sliders and Grill Cheese.  There isnt much of a crowd around the 3p hour (M-F) so seating is always guaranteed.  One draw back is that the Bar area can not accommodate a large crowd.

This was an excellent surprise! Tacoma, WASHINGTON is now on my sites for leisure visits, not just work. I am so happy to have found Pacific Grill. I felt like I was in a high end restaurant in Manhattan. 5 stars for the decor and ambiance. Love the selections for wine and starters. I had the beet salad. So GOOD! The main course was Thai Mussels. EXCELLENT. My hubby had the salmon. His was gone before I could get a taste so that meant he loved it. We had the Bread Pudding for dessert. I wish we would've ordered two bread puddings though sharing is caring, and probably best, or I would've made a piggy of myself.

Love this restaurant! Located in Tacoma, the neighborhood's pretty much like Seattle's Belltown.

The decor was pretty nice, especially when it's during the holdiays. The free hanging red & green colored lightbulbs lined above the bar was so modern and fun. Huge Halo track lighting circled the pillars in the restaurant.

The Happy Hour Menu is awesome. We ordered 1 cocktail, 1 guiness, mussels & fries, fish & chips, and Poke spoons and the bill came out to no more than $40!!!

The service was outstanding. Our waiter was very nice and on it the whole night, on top of being the only one covering the bar patrons.

This place has - hands down - THE best Happy Hour in the region!  Excellent drink selection, great service and delicious, extremely reasonable food choices.  Try the Meat Candy...I know it sounds weird but it is truly addicting dates, cheese, and bacon!  YUM!  Everything on the menu is excellent and their Happy Hour "hours" are crazy good!  Check out their website if you need further convincing.  Well worth your time and money on a trip to T-town.  Place gets busy around 6:00 p.m. so plan on getting there before the dinner rush or later in the evening as their Happy Hour goes until 10 on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends....how awesome is that?

We had a business dinner meeting (for 8) here on a Friday night, in the little "private" room towards the back.  The setting in the main dining room is very warm and comfortable -- having retained the original brick and making it more of an "old style" feeling, in sharp contrast to the shiny/trendy corporate feel of Zara across the street.

The wine list is varied and has some very good choices.  The menu is fairly traditional for what I consider a northwest steakhouse style.  We shared several appetizers, all of which were solid, and the oysters were fresh.  Entrees at the table included salmon, rib-eye, filet, chicken and scallops.  My rib-eye was cooked properly, but it was one damn tough cut of meat.  The other person having the rib eye commented similarly.  Otherwise, the group gave a thumbs up to the meal.

The main dining room and bar were packed, but very little noise made it to us.  Our server took very good care of us, but it was a corporate table with a guaranteed 18% and several bottles of wine.

Would I go back?  Absolutely yes.  On the list for repeat visits.

Had a great dinner here.  It's a high caliber place but I knock down the rating one star because they do gouge you on price. It feels at least 10% too high on pricing given all the relevant factors.  The ahi appetizer and the tater tots really stood out.  You can buy gift cards for this place at Costco stores in Pierce County and save 20% going this route.  This comes in handy when dinner for 4 exceeds $400.00.  Of course this did include wine, cocktails, and all the courses.

I came here with my girl friend one evening for drinks and appetizers.. It's a nice place so I guess my expectations were somewhat high.. Drinks were alright and the food was downright terrible.. We were so relieved that it was only a couple of appetizers and that we didn't waste our money on dinner here.. The asparagus was over cooked and smothered with garlic.. I like garlic but this was disgusting.. The potato au gratin was undercooked and flavorless.. Neither dish was edible.. This was what we waited a half hour for?!  The waitress was friendly but you would think she would want to know why we only took a few bites of our food.. I'm sure she knew it was nasty and just didn't want to go there.. The owners really should invest in hiring a halfway decent chef who knows what they are doing but apparently not.. We did fill out a comment card and they sent me some kind of coupon for my birthday but no apologies for the hideous food.. I won't be back..

Update 12/14:  Received an email from management after posting this review with a very generous offer to make things right.. Because of this I will return to Pacific Grill and then proceed to write a new review.. I stand by what I had to say but in the meantime I am going to add an extra star for how they chose to handle the situation..

The happy hour menu provides 5 STAR food at 2 star prices. Run, don't walk!!!

I have waited over a week to post this to allow for my euphoria to die down, so I can now safely make the statement at the end of my review.

    Drinks

All three bar drinks were amazing.  The smokey martini puts a new twist on a classic drink.  The urban bourbon is another taste explosion of orange and maker's mark.  Gentleman Jack and ginger - who comes up with these brilliant ideas?

    Appetizers

The blue cheese and house-made tater tots is a marriage of flavors that rivals peanut butter and chocolate.  However, the portion size was a bit small, in my opinion.

The onion rings "Paltrow-style" live up to the billing of "best onion rings in the US" bestowed upon them by the New York Times.  Simply the best I have ever had - the light batter subtly compliments the sweet onion and the dipping sauce makes for a flavor explosion.  Very fair portion size.

    "Good Eats"

The sirloin cheeseburger sliders were very nicely done.  I have had slightly better tasting lamb sliders elsewhere, but they were over twice the price for a smaller portion size, and they didn't include a side of fries.  For $6, the sliders at Pacific Grill are an amazing value.

The Bahn Ni BBQ pulled pork sandwich was quite good - a good balance of spicy protein and cool vegetables on a magnificent roll, served with an ample portion of refreshing slaw.

    Dessert

The Blondie sundae was a HUGE portion of decadence, featuring house-made ice cream over a breathtaking brownie with goodies drizzled all over.  The cookie plate, although small in size, is huge on flavor.  Each cookie is a small work of artistic flavor brilliance.

ALL of this cost under $60 - although I did leave a very large tip for the impeccable service.  The perfect balance of being there for your needs without being intrusive.  Each "course" arriving within moments of the last plate being cleared within moments of our finishing the previous course.

Glancing at the other recent reviews here, I can only say that I had a fantastic experience at the bar for happy hour.  I will come here exclusively for nights out for the foreseeable future, as our recent evening at the Pacific Grill was simply the best restaurant experience of my life - at a bar.  I'm extremely excited about sampling what the dining room has to offer in the very near future.

I was born and raised in Tacoma - this is the best restaurant we've ever had.  Read more if you want to get picky...

I enjoy the upscale, high quality food that comes out of this kitchen.  The rotating, seasonal menu keeps things fresh, but is also a bit of a curse.  They used to have a spicy asian tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes.  I've never had that anywhere else I've dined and it is one of the best dishes I've ever had.  This was a couple of years ago and I haven't seen it on the menu since.  (Sadface)  I can always find a good piece of fish on the menu, though, and that's what's important.  They also offer steak and good variety of other proteins that all sound delicious.

The service is usually good and occasionally great.  Typically at an upscale restaurant I expect waiters with a lot of personality and I haven't always had that at Pacific Grill.  Having said that, I've never had a bad waiter at Pacific Grill.

The atmosphere is pretty unique and enjoyable.  The bar can feel a little claustrophobic on a busy night, but the restaurant generally feels relaxing and I enjoy the dim (but not too dim) lights.

Forget everything I just said if you go on a holiday, though.  I went on Valentine's Day a couple of years ago and it was disastrous!  We were sat at a wobbly table jammed between others with barely any elbow room.  It was so loud I couldn't even hear myself think - much less have a conversation.  The service was slow (though she was nice) and the food wasn't properly cooked (we did not send it back because of how long it took to get it in the first place).  Most surprisingly, they had a special Valentine's Day menu (not mentioned when I made reservations) and there wasn't a single piece of seafood on the menu.  (I guess they're named after Pacific Avenue, but how can "Pacific Grill" not offer fish?!)  This is NOT the type of experience you look for on Valentine's Day!  I did address the matter with the restaurant the next day and they replied graciously, but Valentine's Day is a special night and it was unfortunately ruined.

Overall:  This is the best restaurant in the Tacoma area (as long as you don't go on Valentine's Day).

Amazing food and generally great service.  I eat at Pacific Grill probably a couple of times a month for lunch, less often for dinner.  The bar menu is out of this world, and the drinks are pretty darn good.  French fries are the best in town, and the soup is always  interesting.  Mussels are amazing, and the bahn mi sandwich is super!  Something for everyone, pricier at dinner.  Food is good, but seems a better value at lunch or at the bar.

I've been here twice now, and boy do I love it.  I went for my anniversary last year and it was quite good.  My wife had the tenderloin steak and couldn't get enough of it.  I got the pot roast (winter menu) and it was easily the best pot roast I've ever had.  Tender, flavorful, the veg was good.

We went again last night for my Wife's birthday.  It did not disappoint.  Our waitress, Leah I think, was great.  She was very attentive with cocktails and water, but once our food arrived she left us alone to eat, after asking us if everything was good of course.  And she asked the best question to my wife, "is your steak rare enough?"  giving us the impression she would happily have it recooked if it weren't.  And they actually cook it a perfect rare, not a medium because people like to order a rare steak, but don't actually like a rare steak.

My wife had the tenderloin again, she said it's the only steak she gets out she's actually happy with.  It was great, I got a crab, mint, scallop, shrimp pasta dish.  It was quite tasty, no overwhelming sauce which is usually the standard for seafood pasta dishes.  The sides were great too, a seasonal mac and cheese (yeah I ordered a side of pasta with my pasta, what's it to you?) and the potato's gratan.

The specialty cocktails were really good too.

Not a cheap place if you go all out like we tend to do.  But I saw a lot of happyhour food going out, and it looked amazing, so we'll be back for that soon I think.

Well worth the traffic up from Olympia on a Friday evening.  Highly recommended.

    Love.

Went here for a business dinner in July 2011. Started with the Pom Drop; in large quantities those things could kick your ass before you even knew it. So tasty and a martini...dangerous!

I had the salmon for dinner, which was awesome. I am not often able to clean my plate, but I did that night. We also got the potato gratin, which was FANTASTIC. I had to hold myself back from getting the tater tots or the sweet potato fries (yeah I like carbs) but will definitely try them next time.

Overall a great meal, and my first time dining in Tacoma. I'll be back as soon as I can get up to the area again!

Their Cuban Sandwich is delish... too bad we ordered the pepper-infused tequila signature drinks to go with it... those sounded amazing, but mine was instant heartburn in a glass.

Onion rings are touted on the menu as "best in the United States." Is there a more perfect set-up for disappointment? These onion rings aren't the best in a ten-block radius, let alone the entire US of A. These were warm rather than hot, with thick rings of rawish onion entombed in scads of grease-soaked batter. Not yum.

    Damn good Cuban Sandwich, though.

50 percent off happy hour seems like a great deal until you get your food and you realize that half off means half the portion.  New pet peeve - odd numbered portions.  Happy hour dishes are the American tapas.  How are two people supposed to split 5 wings? Or 3 tuna poke?  Be prepared to make or break your relationship at this place, that's all I'm saying.

As for the food, it really doesn't deserve the acclaim.  Our dishes were hit or miss.  The Dragon wings were a flop, caramelized rather than pepperized.  The meat in the Vietnamese pork sandwich was tender with great flavor but the French roll was an inappropriate partner in the dish and provided an overwhelming serving of daily bread.  My favorite dish was the tuna poke with a nice kick of spice, but as I mentioned before there were three servings and I had to arm wrestle for a second.  If you go the route of ramen, be sure to add spicy Thai sauce or you'll have to content yourself with a bland bowl of noodles reminiscent of a college dorm room.

Came here on a recommendation and was a little thrown off because quite frankly it has a steakhouse feel but none the less the food was great and so was the service.  I had the cassoulet, seriously who has cassoulet on a regular menu anymore? And it was moist and tender, the duck was.  Overall a very enjoyable experience.

It would be nice if they post their happy hour menu so I can convince others to come for a quick bite.

Woop, Woop!!! I have been dying to try out this place and finally got the chance when my girlfriend decided to have her birthday bash here:)

Upon entering the restaurant, the decor is so classy, yet inviting... The bar is this huge curved counter top that seems to cover the whole right side of the establishment. Being that this was a birthday party I was being opened minded on the service knowing this would be a pretty large and rowdy crowd:) True to form the service was IMPECABLE!!!

As I glanced the menu, I reminded myself that everything was 50% off!!! I don't think I have ever seen such a extensive Happy Hour menu, I can say that only a few things were excluded but who cares when you have like 20 other choices:)

Not only was the food amazing but so were the drinks and I just knew that was what was going to kill the deal but when I got my bill, I was suprisingly delighted to see the the outcome!

So cannot wait to go again and try some of the goodies out:) I will definately be back Pacific Grill!

I have been in twice.  Sat at the bar both times.  Service is friendly and they are used to the loan travelers such as myself.  If you are in downtown Tacoma and wish to stay downtown this is my suggested place.

Note:  was voted best candlelight dinner in town.  They use fake candles.   This makes me happy.

Holy Sliders! Maybe it's just me, but I don't think so, because they're mentioned in many of the other reviews. A happy hour order has two, but we had another order because they were, well, yum! The "meat candy" is unique and worth the try. We enjoyed happy hour because it was a nice way to try several small portions on Pacific Grill's menu. Drinks are stiff here-or at least they were during our visit. Enjoy!

Are you looking for a fancy place to take a visiting parent or in-law? I'm sure this is fine. But I've never actually sat in the restaurant, nor seen the real dinner menu. So why four stars? Why is this one of my favorite places in town?

    Happy hour.

First of all, it is almost always happy hour at Pac Grill. Call them up or check it out; more often than not, you can go for happy hour. I'm a particular fan of the late night happy hour because there isn't usually a wait to sit. For happy hour you can sit at the bar, at the small 2-tops next to the bar, or in their happy hour "lounge" area, which is atrocious. (That lounge area is probably why I didn't give this 5 stars. It is uncomfortable and awkward - it just doesn't have any of the atmosphere the rest of the place seems to have.)

The food is great. I am a dedicated lover of the Cheese Toast, which they foolishly removed from the menu six months ago and then brought back, since folks like me were peeved. The new blue cheese tator tots are good, and they recently added a great mac & cheese to the happy hour menu. There is a slider plate that my meatasaurus friend always gets, and she loves it. Lots of options.

The pricing may not be the most rock-bottom pricing of all happy hours, but it's a nice place and I love the food. It works well for a few friends just going out to grab some food or on a little mini-date with the Mister.

Yes, the entire extensive bar menu is half-off during happy hour.  And right now their happy hour is all the time.

Crab puppies -  Holy amaze-balls, these were delicious.

Meat candy - it was good, but other yelpers have over-hyped these bacon-wrapped dates.  They're basically a mini heart-attack on a toothpick.  If that's what you're going for.

Dragon wings - good size, decent flavor.

    Cheese plate - yum!

I had the pom drop cocktail, which was good but a tad too sweet.

Servers were super friendly, never forgot anything we ordered (which was a lot of food and drinks), and didn't mind that we kept moving around the bar area to get optimal seating for our group.

    House white wine was yummy.

Minor gripe - very limited selection of draft beers.

I always thought of Pacific Grill as an elegant yet trendy dinner place.  However, I recently discovered that PG is also FABULOUS for lunch and happy hour!

They have a lunch menu that goes on for days, with a variety of delicious offerings from ramen noodle bowls with fresh veggies to seafood, salads, and mouth-watering sandwiches.  My mom and I weren't overly hungry, so we split the Banh Mi sandwich on panini-style pressed bread, which came with a little side of Asian slaw.  It was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had at a restaurant: full flavored, yet light and not overwhelming.  I just wish it had a little more of the delicious slow-cooked pork... yum.  I really liked the panini bread, too, which wasn't overly greasy or crusty and yet held its shape well.  My friend enjoyed her Asian chicken salad.  I can't wait to go back and try the other sandwich that caught my eye, the Cuban Press... only $5.75 on the HH menu! (Both sandwiches were around $11.50 on the regular lunch menu.)  I sense a Tacoma HH coming on!!!

Recent visit was near perfect.  The only miss for us was the Crab (Hush)
Puppies, which were dry and lacked sufficient crab for the ~$12 price.  Entrees were excellent, the special Halibut with a peppercorn sauce and the Killer Chicken (extremely spicy, which we loved) were superb.  We are not going to let as much time pass before making our next visit!

I've only sat at the bar area, but I must say they have an amazing happy hour. Currently, if you dine at the bar, you will get 50% off of their bar food.  This special is for the entire day.

Their crab hush puppies are fantastic - flavorful crab with a nice breading on the outside. It comes with a homemade tartar sauce and a fresh green salad.  Only 6 dollars during happy hour.

Several Yelpers have mentioned their sliders in their reviews. Although these sliders aren't the best I have had, they are very good. The bun is very soft and the meat is cooked perfectly. I'm also a big fan of their skinny fries which accompany the sliders and they have the right amount of crunch and salt. This will also only set you back 6 dollars.

As for the happy hour sandwiches, I highly recommend the cuban or the meatball sandwich.  Both are probably among the best I have had in the area and the staff is more than willing to cut each sandwich in half which makes for a perfect meal to share with someone else.

Overall, a nice swanky place to go if you want to get dressed up with friends or a significant other.  With happy hour all day, one of the best times to stop by is around 8pm on the weekdays. It isn't too busy so the food will come out hot and fresh.

Oh definately a strong contender for the best HH in Tacoma.  Nearly all day HH.  I've been there for the food before but I'd say HH wins on this one.

    Recommend:
    * Mussel & Fries
    * Burger Sliders
    * Oyster Shooters are fun here.

One star for Noodle Bar.  I still like all other food!

I'm from Japan and still go back to visit therefore know my food.  When I heard about Noodle Bar including some Japanese treats like takoyaki and okonomiyaki, I was very excited.  The bottom line is - if you expect something authentic, do NOT go there.  If you want to try something overpriced and not that good but still want to have everything they serve, it's your call.

First, their takoyaki is NOT takoyaki.  "Tako" means octopus.  They use shrimp instead.  When I mentioned it to the server, she had a confused look on her face but no comment.  And there were only 5 tiny shrimp balls (that's how I prefer to call them) for $9.  In Japan, it's twice as big, 23.8 times better and half price.  The shrimp balls were too hard.  And very little amount of sauce and bonito flakes, which are supposed to be all over the place.  And the sauce didn't taste right - it tasted more like tonkatsu sauce instead of takoyaki sauce (I have one at home and tasted after coming back from there).  My partner had the same opinion.

And ramen...chuka noodles were WAY too overcooked.  They should have some texture but the one I had there had none.  The broth was not something I would call "classic ramen broth" because it severely lacked the richness of meat stock.

I am aware that they probably don't mean to serve authentic Japanese food...as a matter of fact, their ramen was more like a mix of Japanese and Thai.  So I won't say anything about so not authentic vegetables in the broth.  But yet, the noodle and broth were not good at all.

I will go back for their bar food though.

Pacific Grill has an amazing setting and very friendly staff, but I didn't feel I got enough food for what I paid for. I ordered the 'Stan-the-Mans Killer Clam Linguini' and it was delicious, but I paid $24 and still had to order a side of sweet potato fries to get full. Also, they do not have a very large selection on the menu, but what they do have tastes great.

Full bar and amazing ambiance. The place is a little pricy, but good place to take a date or chill after work during happy hour.

I loooove love love their ahi tuna tartare!! Omg it's so good. I usually order this whenever I go. I don't believe it's on the happy hour menu but I order it anyway because I know they have it. I love that you can go in the lounge area and just chill with friends with good stiff drinks and yummy food. Why 4 stars instead of 5? I wish they didn't have "excluded" items on their happy hour menu. The whole point of a happy hour menu is to eat food that's smaller and cheaper than the regular menu (which is fabulous and I highly recommend).

Wow I am stunned at the good reviews ...I found this to be mediocre at best...for "local" style food..the portions were extremely small for the price!
Service very slow ...no biggie ...unless you are hungry and on  a limited work hour lunch... Since I do not drink, during lunch, midweek and that is the only time I have been there...I can not speak to the "happy hour"

Maybe I have visited at the wrong time???

Yes we are all too fat but this place is supposed to be "local"...and who  leaves a "local" Hawaiian style joint with out leftovers?

with these prices they need a bigger scoop! This place could be so much better than it is.....

We went for happy hour. We started with my favorite: meat candy: roasted dates stuffed with reggiano and wrapped in applewood bacon. I had the rock shrimp (that was the fish for the day) and chips and it was great. The shrimp were perfect, lightly coated and cooked just right, the shrimp were very tender. Their tartar sauce they served with it was very flavorful. And the chips...wonderful, crispy shoestring fries with fried garlic and rosemary. Also tried the crab puppies: very good, nice and crispy on the outside, though a little gooey in the middle. My husband had the barbecued oysters and chicken wings, which he really seemed to enjoy.
Then to top it off we had dessert: Black Bottom Macaroon "Pie". It was wonderful, not too sweet and the kahlua® crème anglaise was divine.
The staff is wonderful, as is the ambiance.
Can't wait to go again and try something else on their wonderful menu.

I visited Pacific Grill again recently and can report that there was a definite improvement over my last experience. The presentation and service were definitely more aligned with the price this time. If anything, the server in the bar area was a little too attentive. Overall, a good happy hour experience at a decent price. My favorite part was the blondie sundae--sweet and delicious!

This is the best seafood in Tacoma. I was there with three other people and sampled everyone else's food. Every dish was perfect. The salmon (in an area known for salmon) was the best I've ever had.

I hope they can stay alive in what is still a pretty dead downtown.

This review is long overdue. I went to this restaurant a year ago for my grandmothers 80th birthday. Coming from Los Angeles, my parents asked me to find a place for dinner. So, I got on good ol Yelp and chose Pacific Grill. I only remember having the oysters and cioppino, but both were prepared perfectly and were sooooo good. My grandma even tried oysters for the first time in her life and loved them. Anyway, the service was excellent, food to die for, AND they gave us a small discount for mentioning we had found them on Yelp.

I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful and special dinner. I will return when I visit from LA!
