I live right near Pacific Commons, and I'm so glad I don't have to drive to the Hub or Union Landing anymore.
They keep building new stores and restaurants. The whole strip is full of new, clean, modern places. Sure, you have your chains and a couple cheapy little places, but there are also some great stores and some upscale dining you can experience. Also, I think the clientele here is "better" than some at the Hub and definitely Union Landing.(sorry)
Check out all the stores and try new places to eat out here. I'm into showing local love, especially right down the street! Plus you gotta love DSW :)
nice place but the a's doenst belong in fremont!!!! period!!!! it should stay in "da town bizz!!!!!!!"""". this place is too square for oaklanders........ we will scare away alot of fans!!!!!!!!!..... especially if the raider fan shows up to the a's game lol!!!!!!

I work in the shopping center and i must say that they take very good care of the property. Every day pretty much there are people walking around cleaning. I see them on sundays, it doesnt matter what day, they are there cleaning.
Ahh Pacific Commons is such a disappointment.
I expected something classy, less corporate America. And if they were going to take that route, at least they could have given us Target instead of Kohl's. And Old Navy?! Come on. I suppose it's a convenient place for people to grab a bite during lunch hour though.
Stores:
Old Navy
Circuit City
Party America
Staples
Joann's
DSW
Kohl's
Lowe's
Costco
Food:
PF Chang's
Claim Jumper
Rubio's
Tapioca Express
Ohana Hawaiian BBQ
Panera Bread
Starbucks
Premiere Pizza
Coldstone
Jamba Juice
In-n-Out
The only places I really frequent here are Costco and Panera Bread. (Bonus points for Costco.) Honestly I prefer Union Landing at this point. I haven't been in awhile, so hopefully this international project that's going down has some good stuff. If a movie theater crops up too - I'll be all the more forgiving. :)

Call me a traitor but Pacific Commons gets the nod from me over my hometown Union Landing. Some random & rambling reasons include:
1) Parking: Other than Costco, I can find parking at every business with minimal walking. Not having to drive around and circle around people walking to their cars like vultures is a big plus.
2) Restaurants: Both have good sit-down restaurants (PF Chang's & Claim Jumpers vs. Texas Roadhouse, Chevy's, Tony Romas, etc). Union Landing has more sit-down restaurants but lacks quick, cheap and casual places like Panera, Rubio's, Ohana, and Chipotle that PC has. Both have In & Out so thats a draw.
3) Anchor stores: This is the difference maker for me right here. While both have stores that sort of cancel each other out (Wal-Mart/Costco, BestBuy/Circuit City), PC has anchors like DSW, Old Navy, and Kohl's.
4) Less bopper teens, wannabe racers, stereo-blasting POS cars, and no theater = less kids .
5) Growth potential: Union Landing is pretty much as big as it can get in between 880 and the streets that surround it while Pacific Commons has the whole area behind it to develop.
If Pacific Commons ever brings in a Target, a Borders and a Dave & Busters (all stores I think would thrive here), I'd live there.

This place is like the friendlier, better kept sister of Union Landing down the freeway a few miles. Yes, it's still urban sprawl & chain restaurants at their finest, but at least I can find a parking spot. At least there hasn't been a glut of teenagers loitering around every single store and restaurant. And the chain restaurants they did get in are actually a bit higher end than most. Panera Bread, Claim Jumper and PF Changs are not too shabby for a casual shopping area.
We'll see how this place ages as it is still fairly new, but so far it's been a welcome addition to the area.

I actually like this place. I can usually find parking (unlike Union Landing) the restaurants are pretty good and good selection. And this shopping ain't too bad. I'd give it another start, but Costco's parking situation isn't always that great.
This place could have been soooo much better. When it broke ground a few years back, I was elated, thinking they would construct something like the Irvine Spectrum, an enclosed, outdoor, mega-entertainment center complete with bars, movie theaters, and high class restaurants.
Imagine my disappointment when I found out all we got was cheapie, big box retailers such as Old Navy, DSW, Circuit City, and worst of all, Costco! To it all off, the stores are more spread out than Tera Patrick! It's not pedestrian friendly at all. This is suburban sprawl at its worst!
Hopefully that new A's stadium will bring forth some better development around here. For the time being, the only saving grace is that it at least looks like So-Cal with all the palm trees.
*edit* 12/31 Extra one star. Wow, I rolled by here last night, and it's expanding like crazy. They just keep building more and more stuff. My highlight would have to be the Chinese mall in the back. Hopefully, more fine dining and a new hangout spot will materialize.

I did not see the Asian Pearl Fremont in PC.
I keep hearing about it.
Where is it?
I love Pacific Commons. They have big box retailers such as Old Navy, DSW, Circuit City, and Costco! And the chain restaurants they did get in are actually a bit higher end than most. Panera Bread, Claim Jumper and PF Changs. I like In-n-out Burger, Kohls Department Stores, Premier Pizza, and etc.
I live the new International in Pacific Commons. They have Cafe zen, Asian Pearl, and etc. I hope they build Supermarkets.
I wish they build Movies Theatres. This is the best Shopping Centers.
*edit* 7/22/2007: I heard Oakland A's is building 54,144 sf of Movies Theater. It going to be 9-10 screen Movies Theater. It going to be inside the Ballpark Village.
