I'm a frequent customer of Ozzie Dots-Vintage Clothing, and I can't really say I have all too many complaints about this store.

I've come here for random things like fake hair and eyebrows, wigs, hats, feathers, and even mustaches. This place really does have it all. I know, you'd think I'd mainly come here for their costumes considering the "clothing" in their name but frankly, their selection isn't all too impressive (hence the four stars). I don't know if it's because the store is too small but it's just a pain to look for costumes here. Also, the way everything is organized on the racks is just a clusterfck. Sometimes it's fine, other times it's not. It's just a headache for me to even think about getting a costume here. But then again, I'm the type of person who hates to go outlet shopping because I don't want to go through the hassle of digging through mountains of merchandise all to find something good.

With that said, for everything else -- I love this place. If you need any knick knacks to top off your costume, check this store. If you need gloves for your Madonna costume, try Ozzie Dots. If you need a pimp chain for your every day wear, try Ozzie Dots. If you need grandma shoes because uh, that turns you on, try Ozzie Dots. Whatever you need, I'm sure Ozzie has it! :)

I'll be back to look around for more insanely ridiculous items to scare my friends with. And after you take a look around, go next door and take a look around Wacko because they have super weird (and cute) things you can purchase as well!

Thanks, Ozzie Dots! I'll be back. Just ... clean up your racks a little bit, won't ya? Don't make me get all Monica Gellar on you and do it for ya! (Because I charge the big bucks.) ;)

Ozzie Dots is my yearly go to for Halloween face paint.  The quality of the brand they sell is so much better than that of any other I've tried.  It goes on smoothly and allows your skin to breathe.  It also works well on hair and washes out no problem with soap and warm water. Punk rocker spiked bright blue hair.  Yeah!

Unfortunately I've always been in a mad dash to get in and out of here (a last minute mad dasher) and its too bad because this place has some serious personality!  Like, super funky.  Costumes, props, vintage clothing, tights, accessories etc.

You may wish to save yourself the trouble - if you have a purse you have to check it at the front door and retrieve it when ready to leave or pay.  So if you've the option to leave it behind, it is advisable.

My boyfriend and I stopped by Ozzie Dots for a last minute costume yesterday.  My boyfriend was looking for a red robe for his costume.  He found one tucked away in the back in a very stuffed rack full of other items.  The back part of the rack was slightly blocked by another rack, but he managed to pull out the red robe he saw.  When he pulled it out, we saw that there were no sleeves on the robe and it wasn't what he wanted.  The rack was so stuffed and it was a little tricky to place the robe back on the hanger and shove it back in, so my boyfriend decided to lay the robe on top of the rack.  As my boyfriend was placing the robe on top of the rack, we hear, "Excuse me! Excuse me sir!  Are you buying that?" from a young sales person who was chatting with 3 other people (her friends? other sales associates?) and leaning on another rack.  We told her "no" and my boyfriend continued to place the robe on top of the rack.  Then we hear, "Excuse me!  Are you going to buy that?"  We told her "no" again and she continued, "Is the hanger there?"  My boyfriend replied, "Yes, it's right here." and she replied, "Well, can you place it back on the hanger and put it back?"

Excuse ME! What do they pay you for???  YOU work there, NOT us!  Mind you, the store was not busy at all and she was just leaning on a rack with one arm and chatting with other people - I know she wasn't helping them because they were just lounging around - another girl just sitting in one of their dressing stalls and they were there since we walked in. ..and even if I am wrong and she was busy, her job is to tidy up the store later on.  She also could have offered us some assistance instead to see what we needed.  She was standing there the whole time watching my boyfriend look through the rack, watch us inspect the robe, and didn't offer any assistance!

I was appalled, and immediately walked out.  I was NOT going to have us purchase anything from that store to pay for HER salary for her to not do any work!

This place is a small conglomeration of costume madness.
Reasonably well organized, and they had a pretty full selection.

I also enjoyed how they had a counter full of small nick nacks for sell.
They sold tiny plastic babies for 10 cents. heh.
They also seemed to have a lot of accessories.
    So you could stock up.

It's def worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood in need of outfitting.

    Love this place.
    Super quirky and fun.
I like taking myself here on artist dates just to browse.
Display of clothing is a little overwhelming but it just makes it more fun to find treasures on the racks!
The sales attendants are friendly and often recommend things to you if you are open to it.
A fun afternoon of treasure hunting by yourself or fun times with a friend. Parking is not great and they are not always open so make sure you check the times before you go, it has happened to me a few times that i have gone and they have been closed. if that happens however, you can have an equally interesting experience next door at the Soap Plant store and Gallery.

    This place is awesome!
Service is spectacular and the people here are very helpful.
It's small but their inventory is quite expansive. From props to costumes to shoes, they have it all. They sell a good selection of full outfits and vintage clothing; it's all for sale at a reasonable price. It's clean and well-organized.
You can try on the stuff but there are no mirrors in the changing rooms.
I will definitely venture my way back for theme parties and Halloween.

Fun, fun, fun! Friends and I dropped in after lunching at Umami to get a head-start on Halloween costumes (LOVE ME A COSTUME PARTY!), and had a blast browsing the well-curated and organized racks of vintage clothing and costumes. This place is so much better than your average costume super-store. In addition to your usual pre-packaged costumes (you know, the ones that arrive in a plastic bag), they offer vintage clothing that function as costumes. You'll be that much more authentic. That much more unique! Prices are reasonable, and you can try most of the pieces on. Get your giggle on and hit up Ozzie Dots.

I loved it here! There is so much to dig through to find fun things, from generic Halloween costumes to vintage clothing to DIY.

The store is mostly costume-type clothing, but not all of it. I really appreciated not only the variety of the store's items, but also the range of prices you could spend there to outfit yourself for whatever event.

I was extremely impressed by the pricing, it seemed extremely reasonable to me.

I can't speak for how often the store gets new items in, as I have only been there once and actually live 2000 miles away, but overall I have nothing negative to report about this shop, and I would most definitely come back.

Fun costume and vintage store where I've also picked up a good pair of sock garters (to hold up my knee socks!)

The staff is really nice, I had accidentally left a shopping bag from Wacko's there that had a friend's birthday present in it. They were already closed by the time I got back there and were waiting outside for me with my bag! I never forget that!

Great store.  I do a lot of sketch comedy and this is always my first stop for costume shopping.  The staff is really friendly and very helpful.  They've got a lot of costumes PLUS vintage clothing that works as a costume.  I bought a pair of jean overalls there for $12.

Also, Goodwill is right next door, so you can walk over there to look for more costume madness if you need to.

    I am a fan
I love Halloween and I would say I tend to let my imagination run wild when Halloween rolls around.
Well my best bud and I try to grab something to eat at least once a week but this time around he had this Halloween party that a friend of a friend invited him too and he asked me to go with him to go Halloween costume shopping. Another friend of his suggested this place and viola heres the review!
Right when we walked in I could many things I could put together that would rock as a costume.
The staff were quite friendly and helpful plus the prices are actually decent. Nothing way out of your budget unless you are someone who usually gets a black plastic trash bag and cuts a hole out of the bottom than put it on and calls yourself a mole
    I would definitely go back!

For those of you that have questioned where I've gotten my glasses, I've gotten a few pairs here.  The shop hosts some great vintage pieces as well as costumes.  The staff is wonderful.  If you're going into Wackos next door, you might as well check this place out.  You can find some great accessories to help turn that mundane outfit around to make heads turn around.

Pretty much more costumey than vintagey....those probably aren't words either...but they do the job.

They have head gear, masks, pirate hats, 70's shirts, princess dresses....you get the picture. Kind of like a more Halloween version of Iguana Vintage on ventura blvd. The shop itself isn't too big and places like this are hit and miss for me. On one hand, if I ever need to transform into a sequined killer cowboy/android I might need that cool gold sparkly shirt and make up, on the other hand that doesn't happen too often.  So you see the dilemma. This place is good when you need it I guess.

Somehow or another I find myself needing costumes and period pieces all the time (gee, can't imagine why?) so when I ran across Ozzie Dots, I fell in love. Not only do these guys have some cool vintage, they've got costumes galore and for the most part, everything is reasonable.

Complete costumes (like these pirate and belly dancer numbers I have yet to need, but for some reason, am totally coveting) for less than $50 bucks and really great accessories, to boot. Came here hoping to find a little hat to go with a cigarette girl outfit (after deciding $250 was too much to spend on the one I fell in love with at Trashy), and they had them here in spades. When I realized they were all in the $10 range (that's right, ten dollah!!) I ended up buying a couple to make sure all of my bases were covered (ya know, with my multiple heads and all) and even found the perfect hat for a very hard to shop for man. I guess if I were coming here strictly seeking vintage it's meh, but for anyone looking for a costume, this place rocks.

Costumes and what have you aside, I noticed they had a nice selection of things for men including some great coats. Definitely worth the drive when you're looking to play dress up.

Added bonus, they're smack dab between two other great finds -- Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop and Soap Factory. Good stuff.

I have to say, I really do love this place after popping in here today. Until today, I would just come in, grab something cool or for a costume and never really took the time to chat it up with the guys here, but they are so cool and fun and helped me buy mustaches and stockings with the black line up the back... don't ask.

Anyhoo, after seeing I gave it a measly 3 stars before, I'd like to up, up and away that rating to 5 because they really were helpful and deserving. So there :)

This company has upset me so much that my updated review was removed. In all my time here on yelp I haven't ever had a review removed and I have just over 300. So take that as a word of warning.

My last venture in here landed with my purse being taken away, which no business has ever done and the doorman argued with me about how Wacko does the same. They do not. No business has ever done this to me. Backpacks, messenger bags, shopping bags, sure. But really? My purse?

I find that it's another strike on a business that seems to strongly uphold an aura of paranoia towards it's customers. The treatment we received on our first large purchase was shocking and this was just frustrating. I believe businesses need to at least trust their customers some and treat us like we are not idiots and thieves.

We instead went to Hollywood Costumes where everyone was extremely helpful and not at all rude. This is the first time I have ever wanted to not go into a neighborhood store, and i am a strong supporter of all the Los Feliz businesses.

    What a sad day indeed.

This is a three-star place that is getting four stars because they have the cheapest slection of plastic babies in town. I want you to know that right up front.

So, last year, I encountered the unfortunate predicament of having to find a new Halloween costume three or four days before Halloween. That's a pretty shitty situation. My friend, also in search of a costume, wanted to go here because it was pretty close by. I am very glad we did.

Basically: this place is great for finding cheap clothing thrills, but you really, really, REALLY have to look, and you definitely have to be a competitive shopper. There's so much stuff here that it's easy to be overwhelmed, but the store is otherwise spot-on.They've got a ton on costume items (my friend put together a perfect Marie Antoinette costume, including pearl-decked wig, for under $120) and, surprisingly, a great vintage section.

I scored a Madonna costume, pointy gold breast plate and all, for just $15, which would have been terrific had I not taken deathly ill the next day and had to cancel Halloween. But whatever, that was not Ozzie Dot's fault.

Now, onto the plastic babies: they have smaller ones at Wacko next door, but the variety of babies here is just as to-die-for, and considerably cheaper. The smallest size they have go for ten cents each; for less than 50 cents, my buddy and I got four babies which were later turned into hot, trendy earrings.

    Four stars!

When I first got to L.A. I thought this was *the* place for cool clothes, but now I see it's more of a novelty / costume shop, with some good duds, but none of them cheap. And mostly just too kitschy or glam for daily wear.

This is a better place to get clothing for a rock-and-roll photo shoot or a stage show than regular weekend rotation.

I especially like the selection of leather jackets and fur-collar jackets for men, although I've never felt quite glam-rock enough for an investment. I've gotten stuff here to wear before playing at Spaceland, which ended up packed in a box and then back at Mom's in New Orleans.

Buffalo Exchange on LaBrea is still, hands-down, my favorite spot for fashionable clothes at an affordable price: stuff you could actually wear every day.

If they don't have what your looking for they will help you find it somewhere else. They also have this awesome DOLLAR SALE every first Saturday of the month. You can score some great stuff. Great place for a costume as well, they have every accessory you may ever need, Beards, mustaches, pasties, top hats, canes,
wigs, gloves, fans, feathers, boas, tuxedo shirt, and even paper collars. They put out new vintage arrivals almost every day and they also have some cool lamps and hawaiina.

dude, where has this place been hiding all my 1.67 years I've been in LA??

this past weekend i was on a thrift store binge and on my way to my car from goodwill i spotted this gem nestled between some scary looking stores.

i walk in and think, "oh great, another freak show aardvarks knock off"
but as i take a closer look i am THRILLED to find actual pieces that i can wear amongst the costumes and fishnet stockings (which, for other occasions are totally needed)

i find myself a cute little cardigan and a tunic for $14 total!!! i am so excited...and i will DEF be back because the dress collection there is amazing!! a bit pricey...but this is some actual VINTAGE clothing.

awesome place to come for Halloween time and other fun costume parties!

Shopping wears me out.  Plus, I think fashion is cheesy fueled by shows like Project Runway.  The idea of finding parking in LA to shop is a burden, so Ozzie Dots does the job, I park, pay my meter, try to find something, [not always lucky]  pay and get out. Prices are hit or miss.   If I spent more time moving like this shopping for stupid clothes, I can actually take the time to enjoy my life instead of wondering if I look hip enough living it.

I have to go against the grain (and my friend, Stephy S) on this one for a few reasons. First off, I've been to Ozzie Dots a number of times and have always been able to find something cute, albeit sometimes priced more than I like to see, but cute nonetheless. Yes, the prices can be a little high for a vintage store if you are gonna compare it to a Goodwill, but compared to an American Vintage or Jet Rag I think you will find that the prices are actually pretty reasonable. Secondly, my recent trip was one of the best purchases I have ever made. Recently, they had a $1 rack sitting outside where I happened to score two of the cutest thrift store dresses I have ever seen for a whopping $1 each. Inside I found another rad dress for $12. Ozzie Dots also has a great selection of costumes, props, costume makeup and other accessories. It's located a few doors down from the infamous Wacko, Cobras & Matadors and across the street is Fresh Pressed custom T-shirt shop. This is a must visit if you are out and about in the Los Feliz area.

Oh no! Another costume party to attend and you have absolutely nothing to wear! Never fear, Ozzie Dots is here, well not here, more like nestled in the super hip Los Angeles neighborhood that is home to the oh so wonderful Wacko, but I mean that is pretty close right? This place is AWESOME, tons of real vintage clotes and costumes, new costumes (in all price ranges for those serious dresser uppers and those who just don't want to stick out at this year's Halloween party), accessories and well just about everything you would need to complete your look. Need a Cleopatra head dress? Need a tiny top hat? Wanna dance all night lookin like a Vegas showgirl? They have what you need... I found this stunning little feather hat here that I needed for a shin dig... and let me tell you, it has made its way into my regular rotation! Great quality here, not the kind of stuff that will fall apart on you in a day. The staff is very friendly and very helpful and just a little note, sometimes they have costumes in the back that they don't have on the store floor. So if you are looking for something particular, make sure you ask for their suggestions. Only downfall, they are only open from 11am to 6pm, and 12pm to 5pm on Sundays, so plan accordingly.  So next time you find yourself wanting to play dress up, I suggest you head on over to Ozzie Dots, you will not be disappointed

I have been to this location twice, it is very close to my apartment, and in both instances the staff has been extremely rude.  Looking at other reviews on Yelp, I see that I am not the only person to experience this.  Their selection is no better than any other store in the area.  The doorman is extremely RUDE and actually yelled at my wife for not realizing she had to check her purse at the door, which, by the way, is extremely unusual.  I cannot stress how unhappy I was after leaving this store.  STAY AWAY!
