5 reviews for Oyster Bay Inn & Restaurant
As I drove up to the old building with the neon lights, I had a sense of dread as I was sure that this place was going to invariably suck....BUT it actually turned out not to be so bad!
SERVICE: Even if the hotel is pretty average and not that nice, everyone here is super nice and are always willing to help you out.
ROOMS: They were liveable and clean. They weren't dirty at all. My room came with a mini-fridge and microwave, tv, alarm clock, phone, and little balcony overlooking Oyster Bay.
Request a "do not disturb" sign to put on your door if you don't want housekeeping to come everyday. My room didn't come with one.
PARKING: Always available and free in the lot
AMENITIES:
1. Gym: I used the gym a lot since I try to work out almost every day. They NEVER clean this gym it seems like over my 1 month stay. The gym is sometimes locked early in the morning (5-6am) so you have to request that it be unlocked. The staff was very helpful in having the gym unlocked for me by 5am.
2. Free breakfast!! (everyday 5-10am) - The breakfast was excellent to me but I don't really have high standards for breakfast. They had all that I needed - boiled eggs, wheat bread, assorted teas, fruit (apples, oranges, bananas), fat free yogurt (Yoplait - yum!). They do have things for meat eaters like sausage and bacon. In addition they offer assorted cereals, coffee, make your own waffles, biscuits and gravy, muffins/pastries, juices/milk. I think they had breakfast basics covered pretty well.
BREMERTON AREA: Basically, a small town, so I didn't really like it. On Kitsapp there isn't much going on. Some fast food places and restaurants all along the street. Kitsapp mall is only 10 minutes away though in Silverdale!
Not impressed. We were looking for seafood. What they advertised on their menu in the Yellow Pages (just recently published) and what they had on their menu were 2 different things. No oysters rockefeller, no clams, basically the only seafood was crab stuffed prawns and yo could get a salmon cake, too. But when I am in that area, I want oysters and clams, etc. Service was poor, she really didn't know what she was talking about. The food wasn't too bad all in all, the "mousse cake" was more like a sliver of silk pie. But!!! The view, serene, beautiful and that's what made the dinner, besides good friends.

I went back for a late dinner (8:30 is late in Bremerton). The service was virtually nonexistent due to our server also doubling as the bartender in their bar. The food was good, but not great like last time. I definitely recommend ordering the potatoes rather than the "rice pilaf". I think this place has potential. The view is wonderful, the food can be very good, the service needs improving.

I am glad we tried the Oyster Bay Restaurant. Had a late lunch here on a Saturday afternoon and was… Read more »
The restaurant view may be phenomenal, but the Inn itself is outdated. The room had a kitchen, which is nice but generally unwanted. The saggy bed and bad decor pretty much made it a non-ideal experience. The last non-smoking room they had had a definite smoky reek.
The free continental breakfast was poorly updated, having no coffee or plates. No coffee? ummmmm...
There were hotels that looked more skeezy in this neck of the woods, but I wouldn't book here for a good night's sleep.

The view here is phenomenal! That alone is worth the price. Food is high quality and the seafood is oohhhllala! Desserts are to write home about!!
Atmosphere is roomy, open, and very pleasant. Meeting rooms are available, also. It's nice seeing the chef converse with customers. I get a real sense that he cares whenever I go here. Nice. :)
Another nice feature - piano bar and live music in the lounge. Cool!
There's a strong sense of community here.
