8 reviews for Oxford Suites
I stayed here for two nights last October for a business trip.
My room contained a king size bed that was quite comfortable when compared to other hotels that I have visited of a similar $$$ range. Each patron is given two free drinks per night--go down to the bar and enjoy the Sierra Nevada! Each patron is also given free breakfast each morning. Expect something along the lines of eggs, some hash browns and bacon, along with the standard breakfast items (cereal, breakfast, etc.). Finally, the hotel is literally located across the street from IN-N-OUT, Applebees and IHOP, so you can literally get dinner in about 5 minutes if you are lazy to drive elsewhere.
My only real complaint is the TVs in the rooms--they need to be upgraded to the 21st century with regards to age and picture quality.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel! And they are the best! Outstanding service (even when I left my room key in the bar)! Rooms were wonderful and clean! Loved the Jacuzzi room! And Chris Coder the Manager is awesome! Thanks a million! See ya next time we are in town!
free beers. sierra nevada. name another hotel which offers that! just sayin'.
We were traveling with two dogs and Oxford Suites has pet rooms. Wooden floors instead of carpets. There's a deposit - $35 for two animals. Staff was very friendly.
The wifi is an open network. I was on a Mac and couldn't log in with Firefox but could with Safari. (You need to log in with a web browser before getting access.)
Re: the sofabed mentioned in a previous review, I've yet to sleep on one in a hotel that's comfortable.
Wow. This place sucked.
My parents and I shared a room here that was a quasi-suite. They took the bed in the "bedroom" part of it while I was given the sofa bad in the living room part that was separated from the bedroom by a sliding wooden door. My part of the room had the air conditioner, so it wasn't even practical to close the doors and separate the rooms since it would cut my folks off from receiving any air. Bad times.
What really killed this place for me was the TERRIBLE sofa bed. I know those fold out beds aren't known for the luxuriant qualities, but I don't think I've ever felt any bed less comfortable than this one. I ended up folding the bed back up and spending an extremely uncomfortable night attempting to sleep on a couch that was two feet too short for me.
When a complaint was lodged about the crappy bed that I had, the response of the employees was simply a "we're sorry". Not knocking a couple bucks off the cost of the room. Not a transfer to a new room. Nada.
And, really, how hard is it to design a hotel room where the sink is actually located in the bathroom? It's great waking everybody up in the middle of the night when you wash your hands because the sink is two feet away from the bed. Brilliant.
So, if you enjoy discomfort and lame staff, this is definitely your place. Free drinks each day you're there is nice and earns this place its one star.
Fine mid-grade lodging delivers a friendly, clean, and restful night's sleep.
Pros: Great proximity to Sierra Nevada brewery, free wireless internets, included full hot breakfast, free happy hour drink coupons, In-n-Out across the street.
Tip: Request a room not facing hwy 99.
recently remolded... very nice, good price, great rooms, two free drinks a night, down the street from the mall... heaven...
This place is clean and very accommodating. Pool, exercise room, steam room.
