This has been the only vintage/thrift shop where I've been able to consistently find amazingly cute things! I actually found this place by accident when I was walking down Eagle Rock Blvd. Since I love owls, the name and clothing racks I saw hanging outside the shop prompted me to go in.

The owner was super friendly and attentive to her customers. The items were reasonably priced and some even still had the tags on them- they were brand new! She also had a bin of items for $1! Can't beat that price! I also able to find a cute v-neck sweater!

I don't think there is a parking lot for the building so I would advise to park on the street. Make sure to read the sign posts so you won't get any parking tickets!

Overall great place with cute things. I would definitely come again!

Prices are not rock-bottom thrift-score, but you'll find some good deals on new "off the back of a truck" clothing and accessories.

You'll need to come in on a regular basis to find the object of your affection.

Based on so many good reviews, maybe I just came in here on a bad day.

This place is a very small shop in Eagle Rock and it can be easy to miss. I randomly stumbled upon the place and was hoping to have found a great new vintage spot near my house. Sadly, it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

The store has a very small selection and I thought the selection was more Salvation Army than vintage. The clothing was more 90s and 80s. There are only a few racks so within a few minutes I was pretty much done. I was definitely disappointed since most of the items I saw were very reasonably priced.

Since so many seem to love this place, I will definitely give it another try in hopes of more variety!

Perhaps it's because I'm a Gemini, but I find that my personal style alternates between both Zooey Deschanel and Sofia Vergara. Owl Talk is Zooey Deschanel, on a great day, but without the pretentiousness you tend to find at other vintage shops.

There's nothing I love more than a girly, ultra-feminine dress. Bonus points if it's in a bright color like yellow. Owl Talk was like walking into my own Carrie Bradshaw dream closet! Everything on the racks, from dresses, tops, blazers and accessories, were meticulously handpicked for the girliest of girls.

The owner was friendly and very helpful. When I gave her a synopsis of what I was looking for, she quickly zeroed in on several dresses, one of which, an aqua cocktail dress, became my new favorite dress. The inventory was pretty good, save for the high number of black, gray and neutrals. Per the owner, this was mostly due to the season, but I would have really loved more color.

The average price for the dresses I pulled was about $25--a bargain considering that A) you have something unique B) you can't find it at Forever 21, and C) since it probably wasn't mass produced, the quality is far better than any disposable clothing out today.

Parking can be a little chaotic since Owl Talk sits on some prime commercial real estate on Eagle Rock Blvd. Street parking is minimal with frequent visits by the popos and faux-popos. Mind your meter or get stuck with a $38 ticket.

I love this place! Shopped here since i was a kid. My mom used to take me to Owl Talk when I was little for costumes during Halloween. But dont get me wrong...there is way more to Owl Talk then just finding good costume items, they have everything....new used vintage up cycled clothing- jewelery from costume to the very fine gems n metals. Shoes hats purses & sweaters galore!!!! Even though its a small shop I never feel claustrophobic. I found the most awesome 60's neon floral print bra there. I adore it!!! When I was super skinny & could fit into the vintage dresses I got all my vintage gear here! Now I shop for cute casuals & dressy dresses..and let me tell you about the granny boot collection Ive got every single yummy pair of heals  from Owl Talk. Best thing about used is you dont have to be the one with blisters on yr feet from breaking in those shoes....its already done for u!!!! The owners are sisters Kathy & Sharon. They are always helpful & straight to the point. I dont like to hear a bunch of bullshit from the sales ladies when I shop. If it doesn't look good on me then they say so/or if it does look good they say so, & that makes me happy knowing i can go out into the world not looking like an idiot with a pair of pants riding up my bum and my tummy hanging out.....lol Great prices, styles, great everything. I love me some Owl Talk!!!!

First time visiting today, right up Eagle Rock blvd, almost at Colorado, and let me tell you how surprised I was. I dropped some change in the meter for street parking, not knowing how long I would stay, but once I entered I was greeted by the shop owner, super friendly woman, and started to look around.
I came her specifically looking for fur coats (part of my Halloween costume and because I've always wanted one) which she had several lengths, colors, and pelts. After trying on three, I chose a short, chocolate brown mink shrug, which I absolutely adore, and she was super helpful in explaining care, discussing what furs were each coat, and even got my email to send me information should another come in. She had many lovely racks of clothing, all decades, everything in superb condition, and a large display case of different accessories, all in this one tiny shop.
I will be coming back, not just for my love of vintage, but for the excellent prices and wonderful customer service.
Minus one star for difficult street parking, I did not see a lot, but I also did not ask. Otherwise, fantastic all around.

Ive always liked coming to this shop when in the area. The owners are super nice and have a keen eye for quality vintage. Nothing else burns me more than to see vintage items that are damaged. It is not that way here by far... They are reasonably priced and have a great selection. Accessories especially!

Perks.. Umm it's close to Swork and the Coffee Table and just around the bend from the Colorado Wine Company!

I went shopping here and the owner/one of the owners gave such terrible customer service.

There was a dress I picked up and was at the counter ready to purchase when I noticed that it had a small hole and also a stain.  I pointed this out and she just took the dress and threw it on a table behind her and went on to charge me for my other purchases with absolutely no explanation.

I asked her if I could still buy the dress and she said she was going to have to tell the seller about the problems with the dress.  I asked her if it would be possible to ask the seller if they would consider selling it for less because of the damage, and if I could leave my name and number with her.  She took it , but that was over three weeks ago and I never got a call.  Honestly, they're making such a profit on the clothes they sell (I heard her telling someone that she had a whole $4.50 credit from a dress she sold), that it wouldn't have killed her to just sell me the dress with a discount and take less of a profit.  It's called making a customer for life, which she didn't do.

There are too many other great used-clothing stores to waste my time somewhere my business is not appreciated.

WOW this is as good as it gets!

I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. What a find! Two sisters own the store and boy do they know their stuff.  Everything in the store is organized by color and sizes (smalls on the right; med/large center and left).  It was very easy to sift through clothes so right off the bat they had my attention.  Their prices are ridiculously reasonable!  I bought 4 dresses, 1 blouse, 4 tops, a sweater, and spent a little over $100!  I literally had a shopping bag full of clothes!  Labels range from BCBG, Gap, Ann Taylor, to vintage, to brand new.  I spent 2 hours there!  Everything was really cute and the clothes were in excellent condition.

AND to top all of this goodness off the sisters, Sharon & Kat, are the nicest people in the world!  Super friendly and helpful.  I am a customer for life!

No metered parking around the corner - bonus!

From 1940s perfume bottles to books to clothing and accessories, this store has a little bit of everything.

I got the most awesome pair of dove earrings here, a cute blue bangle, and a nice Hawaiian cover all.

I checked out Owl Talk after not being able to see Immortal Technique at the book store next door : *(
I swear I tried to get in!

Oh well. At least my trip was not for nothing.

While looking around I developed the most intense episode of déjà vu ever. There were some serious steals in there. But I had to hold back and keep to the vision I had in mind. The owner was so nice and told me the story of how her and her sister with little money started this business over 15 years ago. Since then they have sold over 25,000 (re)used items.

    Yay for the environment!

If you are in the area, check it out. There is actually stuff to do around Eagle Rock. A little cafe is right down the street, on the opposite end is a bakery and right next door is a book store. Not too far away is a cute little nail shop along with restaurants that look like they just might serve tasty food.

You can easily have a relaxing weekend here while picking up some cute items.

I think Eagle Rock might be my new San Pedro and Owl Talk definitely has a special place in my heart.

Within minutes of walking through Owl Talk's doors, I immediately fell in love.  Their style ranges from vintage to modern.  I knew I might get lucky at this place when I saw an Andy Warhol inspired wallet.  YES, an Andy Warhol wallet.  Plus, I almost screamed with delight when Aimee pulled out an Incubus t-shirt from the rack.

The prices here are very reasonable.  I found this shirt that one of my friends bought at Nordstroms for about $60.  Owl Talk's price:  $36.  I wanted to buy the Andy Warhol wallet, but I walked out with two really cool dresses while Aimee walked out with this really stylish blouse.  When the owner asked if I wanted to sign up for their mailing list, I jumped at the chance.  I've never been so excited about a store until now.  It's no wonder they've been around for 13 years.

We stopped in here JUST TO LOOK to kill some time before heading down the street to Mia Sushi.  Well it's not our fault they have such cute stuff!  It turns out they've been here for 13 years!  I can't tell you how many times I've driven by this place and never realized it was here.

It's very small and if you blink you might miss it but I'd highly recommend checking it out.  One of the owners (sisters) mentioned they're working on getting a website up.

Very reasonable prices and the cutest stuff.  Maria walked out with 2 dresses and I walked out with a top.

As a vintage aficionado & Eagle Rock resident, Owl Talk is literally & figuratively right up my alley. Owl Talk is nestled in the block of neighborhood shops along Eagle Rock Blvd at the Colorado intersection, a perfect location if you happen to find yourself post-Swork and in the mood for a window-shopping stroll.

While not everything inside the small shop is vintage, the vast majority of it is and the store owner will gladly tell you the history of items that catch your eye. My favorite sections are the accessories and the jewelry but there are plenty of vintage clothing options as well. The prices are reasonable for a vintage shop but don't go here looking for thrift store prices because you won't find them.

Having vintage-loving friends, Owl Talk is on my list of stops for holiday shopping when I'm looking for something unique and with character, but I always manage to make more than a few stops inside year round.

Some great things I've gotten from Owl Talk: white & green zebra shirt dress (which I have worn serveral times & received numerous compliments on) and authentic elephant tusk mini hoop earrings (which were sadly stolen from me sometime in college).
The owners and very cheery & hold several sales giving an additional 50% off already reasonable prices.
I just don't like seeing the forever 21 and gap pieces mixed in with the other great finds.

Owl Talk is like my fashion hollaback.

When i cant find enything i like in those mainstream stores , i go to my safe haven that never lets me down. Though , the clothes may not be like those stores , remember " Beauty Is In The Eye of the Beholder " .

The clothes really are vintage and dear i say this : ' second-hand ' .But they only pick the best second hand so no need to worry , your not going to buy a peed on jacket here. They have a storage space in the back that they use to keep the new incoming stuff ( they also buy online , from other stores , flee markets and etc ) , stuff they need to fix and look at and stuff that needs a little bit of TLC. They have different styles of clothes from vintage dresses to new ' green ' fabric skirts. They have alot different jackets from coats to really quirky sweaters. They also have a top section with really odd but cute fashion tops. I had bought a really unique vest with cute , distinguishable patterns on it , and everytime i wear it i get compliments and ' omg thats cute ' eyes from people passing by me.

For accesories , they have a selection. They have old shoes that are acquired taste. They have the cutest quirkiest selection of handbags , clutches and bags! Some of the vintage ones hanging on the atop the walls are for purchase. They have a good but small selection of scarves and hats. i was actually suprised to find a fur collar neck warmer ( or whatever you call those things ) and a bin of ties near the good ole rotation sofa chair they have there. They also sell really cute jewelry , headpeices , earings , necklaces etc. They have a good selection of alot of different things. They also had/have earmuffs!!!!! ahh!!

The 2 sisters , Sharon and Kathleen , who own this place are both very nice. they both have pretty different personalities but their still sisters and and nice people so just talk to them :] , they dont bite!. Sharon though is in the store most of the time. She is a really nice lady who opens the store to have   a very nice welcoming , home-y , cozy feel to it.  They are really nice ladies who like to give fashion insight , and also have quite the sense of humor. They also like to tells stories and help act as a stylist/consultant.  They are really interactive with their shopping customers so your really going to leave this place with an experience not a visit.

For a personal experience , ive loved every minute being in the store. its just so welcoming and those sometimes i visit with my friends and teens can get carried away sometimes , theyve still remained very nice people. one point i actually came over their alot and Sharon actually got accustom to my visits enough to remember who i was haha. I usually go here when its the time that i need to buy something , such as autumn when i needed to buy a peacoat for winter or the day before the local high schools homecoming dance!

Ive bought different things there that i dont regret buying. ;)

I Will Always Love Owl Talk Forever More!

I am really impressed with the selections of the jewelry counter.  I walked away with a sterling silver vanity set, and a sterling silver set of marcasite embellished earrings and a necklace.  Great prices too.  You ask to see a piece in the display, and Kathleen takes that as her cue to educate you about the items' history and materials.  Good lessons.

Didn't really love the shoe selection.  Or the bags.  I thought the shoes were a bit too dingy looking and the bags were still a bit much (compared with retail prices...or vintage prices at Lady).  I lovedlovedloved the vintage hats tucked away in a little corner.  Now those were amazing little treasures for a great price.  I picked up a super soft wool and cashmere cloche hat with the cutest velvet ribbon decor.

Now, while the vintage selection for accessories is bridging on phenomenal, I wasn't impressed with the clothing section.  Used or vintage, it didn't matter, everything had construction defects or super obvious staining.  The sizing was pretty warpy and the pricing was skewy.  A used H&M skirt for $12?  That's just dumb.

This places get 3.5 stars for me, but I rounded up cuz I'm not as pessimistic as most people think...

Kathleen is such a great soul and so into what she does. A great selection of vintage and costume jewelry in great condition. I bought about three necklaces and a pair of earrings by Sweet Romance for about $48. I also bought an incredible Art Nouveau, Mucha-esque drawing for $18.

A great selection also of bags and shoes. Just a wonderful place to hunt for memorable pieces.

These 2 sisters work very hard to give you an awesome display of vintage clothing. Bags, jewelry, shoes, jeans, dresses, coats, adorable tops...you name it. Like ALL vintage/consignment shops, you have to be a smart, patient shopper and really look at the goodies. I love the vibe in the store, friendly, encouraging, patient and lots of honest advice.  I just refuse to leave without finding something every time I stop in (often since I'm now seriously addicted to the latte at Swork.

I bought a pretty dress for only $18 and I've been wearing it ever since then! There's also a little chest of clothing that's marked down to $1 so if you're short on money, there's a little something for you too. :)

When I moved to Glendale, i was looking for a awesome and reasonable priced Vintage Store and this was a winner! First of all the two ladies that  own the store have the place all doll up with frames, hats, and nick nacks all over the store making it seem very warm and lived in. I could spend a whole day in there shopping. There is so much to look at ! The two ladies who run the place are the sweetest girls I have ever met, they were so helpful and welcoming. They even offered me some water due to the summer heat. What store does that?  They are very knowledgeable about their fabrics and the history of their clothing. Very rare. I was very impressed with Owl Talk. I take all my girlfriends there and everyone LOVES it. The owners are so great every time. I recommend this Vintage Store over any place  in LOs Angeles.

One of my favorite vintage stores. This place is definitely quality over quantity, as it's kinda small, but every time I visited, I found so many things I just fell in love with. I love how they stock more than just your typical raggedy hipster threads or last season's castaways. And the prices are affordable too. I hate mentioning this place for fear of it getting too popular, but it was already mentioned in a recent Lucky issue.

And then after you shop, you can go grab a Sworkuccino at Swork Coffee, or drive down the street for lunch (and cupcakes) at Auntie Em's.

I've been a few times and I've never left empty handed. Although there isn't a ton of stuff I like how everything is organized. I recently bought a friend a pair of boots and I can't wait to see if she likes them, and even if she doesn't they were only 10 bucks. I would suggest you take a look if your in the area.

I LOVE this place!  It has something for everyone. Every time I happen to stop by I'm always greeted with a friendly hello by one of the two sister's that own it.  The best thing about it is that if you find something you like, you can rest assure that 20 other girls are not wearing the same thing in your neighborhood, or any where else for that matter. Thanks for all the great goodies, keep up the great work!

They have really cute stuff. My wallet is empty or else I would be there more often.

love it!  finally got around to exploring eagle rock and found this gem.  the pieces are amazingly reasonably priced. i got a vintage 60's beaded/sequined top (those heavy ones you never know where to wear to, but you just want it) for just $24.  that's amazing considering the intricate detail on the shirt.  in silverlake something like this would probably easily be priced at $50.  also: found vintage chanel shoes that FIT me.  almost bought a vintage st. john piece but had to constrain myself somewhat due to budget crisis.

I was hoping to have a better experience at this place like other yelpers. I found this vintage skirt (looked Victorian) that was quite interesting, so I decided to try it on. While in the dressing room and while changing, the lady at this store unlocked the door without knocking or saying that she was sorry. Instead, she kept talking to someone on the phone and just simply left the door open. Luckily, I wasn't naked and I was the only customer there but yeah, if there were, they'd see my underwear!

Great clothes, unique, hand-picked items and very! very! reasonable prices.  I found a new dress, priced well, plus a cute vintage dress and two purses...all for under $70!

this place is wonderful! it's kind of strange/small, but there are lots of good finds and stuff that is just fun to look at. the women there LOVE vintage/recycled stuff and will be sure to comment on what you're getting. positive encouragement never hurt anyone. the prices are really on par with what i've seen at other stores, and there are no ridiculously marked up items, in my opinion. cuter clothes than urban outfitters and cheaper... win! just bought an adorable 60s house dress with a big floppy collar and a nautical print. obsessed. check this place out, local business needs your love!
