Basement remodel. Very pleased with the results. Service was great and the teams were always ontime. The Owens Corning system is as nice and easy to maintain as advertised. Job was done very quickly and I would recommend this team to anyone.

I found Lux Renovations through home advisors. We were looking to finish our basement, which has had issues with dampness and wanted to ensure we hired a company that specialized in basements and were willing to pay for a quality product from an expert in basement refinishing. Lux was very quick to return our call, schedule a salesperson to come out and give us a quote. The quote process was very high pressure, " Commit today and receive $6500 discount" for our reviews on all social media sites and of course the offer was only good that day.
So here is my review, since I was "paid" for it! SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Lux promises an entire specialized crew working FULL TIME. After our project manager came out to review the job with me and of course pick up the first payment, (after we already gave a deposit upon signing the agreement) he explained they were about two months out for a starting date. They did start approximately a month ahead of schedule, late October 2016. After the initial meeting with our project manager, we only saw him when they wanted additional money. We had one (1) worker on site 90% of the time. The other 10% there was a second worker, hardly a full crew! Most days they did not begin until after 11 am and worked until about 6 PM. Luis, our main contractor (and only positive part of our experience) was very professional and did a nice job overall but was very rushed and had to work 10 - 12 hour days at the end of the project as we had already missed our carpet installation date and had to push out furniture delivery twice. The project took approximately 5 weeks to complete, rather than their estimated 2 - 3. The only hold up was an error by the electrician, who installed the air handler improperly. The electricians, carpet installers appear to all be subcontractors (they provided their business cards) of Lux and try to sell you additional services "while they are here". At close to the end of the project (5 weeks), we still had a punch list that needed to be finished, which included replacing siding due to holes in the exterior of our home made by the air handler installation, HDMI outlets hanging out if the walls, trim and paint touchup, damaged threshold on the floor..etc. Our "Project Manager" showed up the day after Thanksgiving, UNANNOUNCED to pick up final payment. This was only the third time we heard from him during our entire experience and he did not even do a final inspection until I pointed out all the unfinished items. Again, each time he showed up was only to get more money. Since there were numerous items that were incomplete or not up to standards, which I had to point out, per our contract, I held back 5% until the "punch list" was complete. Pete Monaghan, our "Project Manager" stated this was an "inconvenience" ( the holding back of the 5% ) because he would have to make another trip to our home to get the final payment! I ended up hiring another contractor after several complaints to the company that still have never been acknowledged, and not being contacted to schedule the completion of the punch list. I did not hear back from the contractor regarding the punch list for approximately two weeks after the final walk through (again only due to my insistence on pointing out the issues).
I come from a family of general Contractors and have been around construction my entire life. This company has no idea what "customer service" is and once they get your money....GOOD LUCK YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN! Very unprofessional and very little respect for our home and property. (We have plenty of pictures to back up our review)
As for the Owens Corning product itself, I will write another review once we have lived with it for a while.
As for Lux Renovations, I will be advising anyone interested in their services to look elsewhere.

The Lux Renovations team was awesome to work with for our basement remodel. The Owens Corning system came in just as described and we couldn't be happier with our space for family and friends. The crew was courteous, quick, and flexible to accommodate us living and working in the house while they did their jobs. The project came in on time and on budget. Couldn't recommend the team more.

We had Lux Renovations finish our basement and are very pleased with the result as well as the experience. Lux representatives were very clear and accurate describing the work, design, and cost. The work started even earlier than promised and took a shorter time than anticipated. The Work manager was always available and went above and beyond on any request we had. The installers (general, electrician, plumber) were all professional. We were especially impressed by Mario, who is knowledgeable, polite, and hard working.
If you want to renovate your basement by professionals that care about the results and your opinion, I highly recommend Lux Renovations.

We had a such an amazing experience! Our basement finishing took only 6 working days. They did a wonderful job of keeping the work site clean, organized and were extremely professional. I would 100% recommend this company to anyone. Our finished basement turned out better than we could have expected. We spend so much time down there. Thank you again!

I am very satisfied with their work. The quality is easily 5 stars. The contractor they assign is probably the critical player. I am extremely impressed with Tim, he did the work in my home. I can't imagine that Pete ever acted in a way to bring up some of the complaints I hear here. So,in the end, you will be happy.
Here are things to consider:
--it IS VERY expensive
--customer service is OK, but they will not go any inches of an extra mile.

We hired Corning/Lux Renovations to finish our first floor into a living space whereby I could move downstairs . I want to convey how impressed
I was at the attention to detail and the Team's work ethic as the work was going on- what a beautiful transformation! Lux did a really lovely job on this project and I highly recommend this company for a large renovation like this. David was an excellent Project Manager and Alex was the Team leader - they worked all day every day and took care of everything . Robyn M. was our initial contact prior to the start of the project and she represented accurately what to expect; She was available to me all hours of the workday whenever I had small questions.
Terrific communication, teamwork and construction!

Corporate Greed
I'm an artist and financially devestated by COVID. At the time of
signing a contract for a basement remodel I was prepared to to have
it done. However things changed drasticly because of COVID and the funds
I put aside for the renovations quickly dried up. I had sent several letters to corporate and to the salesman Jason Santos asking to be released from my contract. (Mind you they are holding close to 4K of my money.) Never heard back for the better part of a year until the other day. They now want an additional 20%. as stated in the contract if I reneged. These are unusual and difficult times and one would think a coperation of its size would be more understanding. Obviously it's your choice to work with Lux but be aware they could care less about you then the money. Caveat Emptor.

Love the product, BUT, consider you just spent $90,000 to finish your basement, you ask that they leave you a couple of ceiling and floor tiles in case of damage for the future, they comply. Then when you do the walk through, some of the flooring needs to be replaced. They come a few weeks later and don't bring any product, so you show them the couple of tiles they leave, they use them to do the work.
You pay them in full.
Then you call the product manager and ask if you can please have a couple of floor tiles to replace the ones they used (they used them all by the way), and over the phone in a belligerent and condescending tone he says, "I don't have to leave you anything!".
How's that for customer service after they received their money. And I never did get any tiles, or a call, from LUX about anything.
Got their money and BYE!!!
