While it is a private country club with a healthy equitable investment, you can postpone that purchase until the age of 45 if you join at age 26 or younger.
For a very reasonable private country club monthly dues, you get a great driving range, great food, a superb golf course, and great people. I tried out many country clubs to find the right mix of people, grounds, and dues and I was not let down by Overlake.
It's located in Medina off of 520, but you'd think you were in the middle of the forest for how quiet it is. The surrounding area is of course the home of many of the Microsoft billionaires, so you feel luxury even before pulling into the beautiful club house. In addition to golf, the club offers tennis courts and a swimming pool (it's also a great place for kids to keep busy in the summer with swimming and junior golf).
The caliber of the course can be summed up pretty easily...Fred Couples used to host an annual tournament here and scores below par were on the top of the leader board.
But perhaps my most favorite thing about the course is how well it is maintained. The greens are spectacular...second only to Augusta National (yes, that is an exaggeration, but you won't find better greens anywhere in the area). They are not large, but they roll true. Also the sandtraps, fairways, rough, and landscaping are meticulously maintained and the course always look beautiful.
If you're looking to drop money on a country club, this might be the best deal in the Seattle area. ...now while I may never be able to afford the equitable purchase at age 45, I'll at least have 20 years of some great golf with some fantastic people.

Strong lack of diversity in this place. As white as Seattle is, it's still eerie walking into Overlake and seeing nothing but old, white guys.
