This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Honolulu!  It is right downtown, so you will be close to shopping and restaurants.  It is also right on Waikiki Beach, so you will be able to lay out and cook for as long as you want!  Plus, the view of Diamondhead was absolutely beautiful!

When we checked in, we were greeted by Ambrose, who was totally awesome.  Very friendly and helpful!  The rest of the staff was like that for the rest of our stay there.

Currently, the place is undergoing some construction work, so the front is in a bit of disarray.  Due to this, Co-worker and I got a smokin' deal on our rooms.  So it is a bit messy in the front, but the rest of the place is just fine.

I highly recommend this place if you are planning to stay in Honolulu!

This hotel is conveniently located on the beach.  It was going through renovations when we were staying here but it was still a nice stay.  Easy access to the beach for mornings you just want to get out of bed and lay on the beach.  The bathroom was huge but the shower was soooo tiny!  There were 2 big closets in the bathroom too! I don't know why that was needed!  They should take a closet out and put in a tub or a bigger shower room at least!  The room was pretty big.

Located right on the beach... few in Waikiki can say that AND mean it, this hotel is just okay.  The pool is nice, the steak house in the restaurant is nice, it's in a nice location.... but.... you knew that was coming, didn't you.  The room was a shit hole.  Sheets felt like sandpaper, it was a bit cramped... and the air conditioner sucked.  The view was not that great.  My hubby and I booked this packaged trip on expedia.com and got a decent price for it all.... a couple of tours too.

We've stayed at this hotel twice in the past 2 years. The first time I stayed here, the construction was not as bad. The rooms were pretty clean, although the bathrooms we're a bit small, the rooms were still pretty comfortable. We booked a partial ocean view room with Travelocity and we had a good decent view of the ocean.  The staff were very helpful, as a matter of fact, one night my bf and I were craving Leonard's malasadas. One of the staff was kind enough to grab us a dozen. She didn't even want to take any tip! =) We enjoyed Outrigger the first time we stayed there. The pool is salt water, and the beach is practically a few steps away!

The second time we stayed at Outrigger which was last summer in August. There were far more construction and they were in the beginning stage for renovating their lobby. This time, we noticed how the rooms really sucked! We seen cockroaches, and the bathroom was really dingy! We still made the best of it...it's on the beach and basically close to Waikiki's strip. The only down fall is the rooms and the construction around the hotel!

I would definitely stay here again after all the construction is done!

Leave it to my bf to not realize that there is more than 1 Outrigger hotel on Waikiki. He meant to book a room at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, but instead booked a room here. Although Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach is still one of my favorite hotels to stay in on Waikiki, this one was actually pretty nice too. There was a great view of the ocean from the room, with a nice balcony. The room was nice and big, and even had a sitting area with a couch. This hotel is one of the few located on the beach, but is a bit hard to get to because of the construction going on at the surrounding sites. For those of you flying Hawaiian Airlines, there is a convenient kiosk in the lobby for your to check-in, get your boarding pass and baggage ticket, so you can skip all that at the airport.

Booked our flight + hotel in one package on Northwest Airline's website.  According to the website, Outrigger Reef was a four-star hotel, so I was expecting a cleaner shower stall, nicer bedsheets and a bigger room than we ended up with.  Overall, my 5-night stay at the hotel was okay since we did not spend a lot of time in our room.  I did like that our balcony was overlooking the park and a bit of the ocean. I'm just really glad that my view was not the construction site across the street.

The hotel did have an easily accessible activity center where we booked most of our activities around the island and car rentals.  The staff were friendly and very accommodating. There are three different restaurants to choose from at Outrigger Reef along with a lounge and a bar.  There's also various shops, a laundry facility, 24-hour fitness center, the Serenity spa, hot tubs, a pool, Jamba Juice and a Starbucks in the hotel.
