At first, the Outlet Marketplace seems ridiculous. Who throws tools, kitchenware, clothing, and supposedly books together in one big open space?

Outlet Marketplace does & it is just a little heavenly. When I visit, I ignore the tools (for the obvious reason that I have my basic set, I'm in school, I don't need that sand blaster yet), linger through the women's clothing, and find my salvation in the intimates section.

This is probably the place to dress your kids. OM carries brands like Wrangler and Lee, and it's gleefully inexpensive here. I walk out with underwear at (most recently) $2.99 a piece. I walk out with brands like Vanity Fair and Tommy Hilfiger.

OM is anything but hip, and thus I love it. It is on rare occasion that you find Charmingly Awesome girls like my friends and myself here. Senior citizens browse the high-cut (as opposed to low-rise, which you will also find here) panties and moms wander, little people in tow. Somewhere on the other side of the room, guys find what interests them.

The prices are wonderful. The cashiers are generally quiet teens, the cheerful sort you know have to be a little independent to have found this job and wanted it. And, hey, I'll wear Tommy Hilfiger instead of Victoria if I can sport the stuff for $3.
