Brigette is unbelievably talented and amazing! I hired her to help my business and the photos were beyond what I was expecting. She is very sweet, professional and I would hire her again in a heartbeat. Now, all I need to do is get married someday so she can capture that ;)

My fiancee and I hired Outer Focus (Brigette Sullivan) to shoot our engagement session in October 2010. The session was fun - although I remember thinking at the time that it was I who was coming up with the creative shots (heart-shadow, our dogs in the background/us in the foreground), I mean isn't the photographer the creative one? Anyway...
It was an hour later that we realized we were being duped. Let me explain. We completed the session, I handed over my (comparatively speaking) high payment in cash, and as I asked when I could expect a disc with the digital images, Brigette declared that we don't get any photos. We were floored. I'll say it again: We didn't get ANY photos. You would think for the amount we paid, we would get the digital images, but no.
What we "got" was an option to BUY prints, complete with the Outer Focus watermark! So for $300, we came away with nothing. No photos, no digital images, nothing. Sure, Brigette's time and equipment has value and it's not a question of paying for it, it's the fact that we received nothing in return.
We immediately regretted our experience with Outer Focus. We also immediately thought it was shrewd of Brigette to inform us of her "policy" only AFTER we paid. Had we known that we would not get any digital images we never would have worked with Brigette.
To make things worse, attempts to work things out with Brigette and discuss our concerns have been ignored. In the months that followed, we spoke with nearly a dozen professional photographers and not a single one withholds the digital images from their customer.
If you are looking for a photographer with sub-par creativity, high rates,
inept customer service, and deceptive policies, than Brigette is your girl.

This is what you should say when you ask yourself if you should book Brigette for your next event that involves photography. We used Brigette for our wedding and engagement photos and we were BLOWN AWAY. She is a true expert in her art.
My husband ( fiance at the time) are not big picture people. We are NOT the couple that has a bazillion photos of ourselves in our home (neither of us on our Facebook, so no need to post pictures either) but we did want to capture the memories of our engagement on film. We were familiar with Brigett's work through a coworker of mine who had used her for his wedding , as well as other personal events. Even before I was engaged, I knew I wanted Brigette to be our photographer. Her work speaks for itself.
So when it was time for our engagement shoot, we were both a little nervous. ( A beer or 2 before helped). Brigette made us feel at ease, as if we were not taking photos, but just hanging out and talking. We met and were engaged at the California Clipper, so this is where our shoot took place. We has SO much fun, the time just flew by. Brigette came up with great ideas for poses and looks for different shots. Her eye for detail is amazing. She just gets it.
When we received our photos we were blown away. She captured "us". Through photos, she captured our personalities, who we are as a couple and how much we are in love. Let me tell you, that is not something just anyone can do. But Brigette does it well, very well.
As for our wedding, we really wanted to limit the number of posed shots of family members. We were more interested in capturing the moments that we would most likely not see. We wanted to remember the little details and the guests, not shots of our families that we will see for the rest of our lives. While we have only seen a few photos from our wedding, we look forward to seeing the rest. We KNOW that Brigette did a brilliant job. I will be sure to update once we receive the final photographs.
Brigette listens and understands what you want. She is not pushy or arrogant. She is simply the best at what she does. -

My wife and I asked Brigette to do a photo shoot with us and our dog. I'm very glad we did. She was very professional but at the same time kept us completely at ease through the whole thing. All we had to do was take a lovely walk in the woods on a Saturday morning and she did the rest.
The photos turned out great. We've had other photo shoots not turn out well because the pictures look staged. They don't look like us. The photos that we got back from Brigette are exactly what we wanted. They capture us in the moment. We've had a hard time choosing which ones to order!

Brigette did an absolutely fantastic job photographing my wedding this summer!
My husband picked her, and I was slightly skeptical since her prices were a bit higher than others I'd seen. That is until I saw her gallery...at which point I was FLOORED! Each photo is truly a gorgeous work of art.
Brigette works hard long after your event to make all the colors and composition perfect. She will make you, all your guests, and your setting look totally amazing. Her specialty is really capturing the spirit of an offbeat wedding, from group shots to small inanimate details. And she's especially good at food porn! I added a couple of my favorite shots she did for us here. (Pics 17, 18) Furthermore, she is an all-around awesome wedding guest herself, and all of our friends loved her. She and my Mom almost adopted each other.
Pick Brigette for your wedding too! Outer Focus is worth every penny! -

Though she claims it's not her specialty, she took some of the best live photos of my band that I have ever seen. Not just catching individual band members but scenes. The shots were all framed beautifully and she got several shot within a shot photos by framing one person with the outline or silhouette of another. Not just photography: ART.
Thanks Brigette! You rock!
They only allow 5 stars here. Too bad. -

Brigette was the perfect photographer for our quirky offbeat wedding. She was able to capture the entire event, details, and everyone there with such stunningly beautiful photos. She is wonderfully easy to work with and helpful. I love that many of her shots have a candid 'rockumentary' feel to them, which was perfect for our 'Carnival Potluck BBQ' Themed wedding.

So now that our babies are almost 8 months old, it's time to hire Outer Focus again. Brigette took the most breathtaking photos of the girls when they were two weeks old - we used them in our announcement and every family member has framed copies of many of the shots. Brigette will be hnadling the formal portraits for the holiday cards, as well as some shots of me that will be a gift to my husband for Christmas. I just cannot say enough about her professionalism, talent and eye. I will probably never have anyone else shoot photos of my family... Now for the dogs!!!

Brigette needs to be your first and only choice when it comes to photographing your events and the ones you love! My family jumped at a chance to use Outer Focus Photo for an impromptu family session as we stopped in Chicago on our way across the country. Brigette took a rainy walk with an extra bouncy kid and turned it into a breathtaking array of family portraits. Fresh off getting married and officially blending our family, we were looking to have pictures that felt like us - nothing that felt staged or uncomfortable. Brigette more than delivered. She captured the attention of my son, managed to work with his boundless energy and really captured in her images what he is all about. Even for the severely photo-phobic of us (hello, me!) the session was fun, comfortable and natural. I cannot begin to describe how pleased we were with Brigette, the session and most importantly the incredible final product. Her eye for edit and color matches her ability to capture a moment. The images she created are hands down the best I've ever had the privilege to be in! I cannot wait until we get a chance to work with Brigette again!

I am convinced if it wasn't for Brigette's expertise my daughter would not have gotten accepted into a respected talent agency. She is extremely friendly and my daughter who is very timid, warmed up to her right away. Brigette makes the subject comfortable during the session and the way she jazzes up the final product is amazing. We have hired Outer Focus twice and the first time my daughter had a bruise that Brigette magically removed. The layout for the composite card was impressive. We had no idea what we were doing but trusted her, her experience & we were not disappointed! We will use her again & again.
