I loved my visit to Outback. It was my first time and I was extremely excited :) We came on a Wednesday night around 8 so there wasn't really anyone there.
First off, bread and butter.. AWESOME. Now.. For appetizers we ordered seared ahi ($9) and chicken flatbread pizza ($8). The seared ahi was AMAZING! I LOVE SUSHI, and I LOVED the seared ahi, well.. it was definitely much better than I expected. The chicken flatbread pizza was also very tasty, it had artichoke dip on it, chicken, and cheese.. which is already in artichoke dip right? Whatever, it was great.
Entrees were okay, the appetizers are what got me really. I got half a crab with garlic mashed potatoes ($15), quite the disappointment. They gave me one big leg and half a small leg.. that's a half crab? It was good though. My boyfriend got the steak with scallops and shrimp, with a baked potato ($16). He loved every bite of it. (PS- my boyfriend likes his steaks medium rare anywhere else, but medium here.)
Our dessert was a cinnamon apple type thing ($6), I forgot what it was called but it was pretty good. Usually I don't enjoy cooked apples/apple pie but I really liked it.
We also got really good service, which is also a major plus. Hopefully we'll be back! We probably over ordered so it cost us food with drinks and tip about $90. -

I eat at Outback a couple times a month, normally the food and service are acceptable for the price and type of establishment. My last visit was the worst anyone could possibly have!!
We ordered Medallions and Baby back ribs, "very hard to destroy those two easy dishes", Wrong, the food was ordered Medium Well, it arrived burnt on the outside and dripping blood when cut with a knife, worse than that the Baby Back Ribs were ICE Cold, they hadn't even been heated, they were made in advance placed in a freezer and then some one forgot to reheat before serving.
Our Waitress & the Manager both agreed that the order was not as ordered nor was it acceptable to send food out of the kitchen as it was.
NOW they need to find a new COOK, one that knows how to actually cook.
The only reason I gave a 2 star rating instead of 0 or 1, the Bloomin Onion appetizer, as well as waitress was excellent. -

My wife and I went to Outback on a gift certificate we received from a family member a couple months back. We decided to go after church and the restaurant barely opened at 12 noon. There were 2 other parties already in the restaurant so I figured customer service wouldn't be so bad. Boy was I wrong!
Not only was the server incompetent, we never got our drinks refilled, my wife's order was wrong and the manager (who I think was the manager but didn't properly introduce himself as one) came out to ask if everything was okay. My wife was beyond frustrated and wanted to leave at that point but I wanted to finish my meal. She just ate the fries with her meal as I devoured mine. She took the burger home but never ate it. Such a waste.
I'm surprised the restaurant is still in business around other failing businesses within the area. The service could have been better given that we were only 3 tables being occupied in the entire restaurant. I probably should have asked for free dessert but my wife really wanted out of there so we left after paying with the gift card. -

So I asked my kids what they would like for dinner and they said Outback!!! Shit! What happened to regular kids that say McDonald's? Taco Bell? Or Candy? lol
So off we go to Outback!
I suppose since i've discovered Texas Roadhouse i'm a bit harsh on this place. But it's to be expected when you order your steak prepared one way and it NEVER comes out the way you asked. Never!
Looks like they also did away with the happy hour food menu. I asked for any and all menus and I only received one so either the waitress was being lazy, clueless or they really did get rid of it.
FYI: I don't suggest ordering the coconut shrimp appetizer. For $7.99 it came with like 6 little ass shrimp. I was like seriously??? I didn't order from the damn kids menu!!!!
I personally think they should knock this place down and build a Texas Roadhouse. I would be there every damn day for sure!!!! =)1 Previous Review: Show all »

I give this place three stars because of the service. It was very disappointing when you are not getting any help. Our waitress was not helpful at all. This was a few months back I hope they have improved since than : /
Anyhow let me get to the food... It was satisfying I enjoyed my steak n scallops! The bread and butter was good as always. My lady enjoyed her dish as well. -

Came here for lunch with my family for my mom's bday. We started off with the bloomin onion and coconut shrimp for appetizers. Both were good specially the bloomin onion. The sauce that it came with gave it an extra kick. I ordered the Victoria's filet cooked medium for the main course with a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was just so and so. Not the best, but also not the worst. The mashed potatoes were the same so and so taste. It was a little too thick and not as creamy as I would have liked.
The presentation was also lacking. I don't really know how to describe it, but the first impression that popped into my head when they brought it to me was "boring."
We finished the meal off by sharing the trio sampler of Chocolate with pecan brownie, carrot cake with coconut and pecans and the classic cheesecake. $7.99 for the dessert trio wasn't so bad and enough to go around for everyone (6) to have a little taste of each. The cheesecake was probably the best out of the three. Since it was my mom's bday, I asked the waitress to put a candle on the cheesecake, so we sang happy bday and she was able to make her bday wish. My mom was surprised and loved it!
Overall and decent place to grab a quick lunch with the family. -

We came here out of no where. Yet one of the 1 of us never been here and he was the one with a gift card hahah.
Anyway the only thing I really wanted was an onion blossom. Our server was cool and slightly chit chatted with us about the Packers game that same night. Service was good. The place wasn't that packed on a Sunday night. We started off with an onion blossom & seared ahi tuna. The menu said the ahi tuna serves for 5, whatever, I can't eat so many of those. That was really good! Onion Blossom with it's dipping sauce same as every other location, delicious.
I got the chicken & artichoke flatbread, while the others got steak & lobster, and a rack of lamb. When asked how they cook their meat, our server said they cook more on the rare side. So if you ask for medium rare, it might come out rare. Everyone enjoyed their food but Once again I'd have to say that ahi tuna was http://bomb.com and can eat 10 plates of it. Good service good food.Listed in: 209 Grub

I remember wayyyyy back in the day when we used to drive to Modesto to go to Outback. I also remember when they said they were going to build an Outback in Stockton!
I remember what an amazing day it was when they finally opened.
I remember what a good job they did those first couple years. They had a good wait staff, awesome food and they were one of the nicest restaurants in town. There was even a rumor going around that they were the reason that Stockton Joe's moved to their new location. Stockton Joe's used to be in the shopping center next to Outback and after Outback opened they moved farther out North to Lincoln Center.
I even remember when the 49rs had their training camp in Stockton and every once and a while you would bump into Steve Young or Jerry Rice since Outback was one of the nicer restaurants around.
Fast forward a decade or so and Outback is starting to show its age. The building looks dated, and Stockton has a host of nicer restaurants now. Less than a mile away you have the whole area of the two malls where places like Macaroni Grill, The Elephant Bar, 5 Guys, and Boudin Bakery are all new.
I used to go to Outback just for their Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie...but to be honest there are other places that have just as good grilled shrimp. Red Lobster down the street has some pretty similar ones and every once and a while Red Lobster will run an all you can eat special.
Today Outback seems a little dated and a bit overpriced. I never have a problem going here and the service always seems adequate. If anyone wants to go here I would never have a problem eating here...
Just hopefully they offer to pay.

The prime rib and rib eye were both good. I think they need a little more on the menu. Like twice baked potatoes or just more appetizer choices. This place has really dim lighting and it's kinda weird. The presentation is boring. My plate had steak on one part and a baked sweet potato on the other and that was all. Kinda boring right? For 2 adult meals and a kids meal the bill came out to $60.00! With these prices I think they should give you free desert or at least an activia or something. They didn't even give mints with the bill. So only 2 stars cause the food is good but they need more variety and it is way overpriced... oh and no mint :(

Wow, I'm surprised at some of the poor reviews. We eat at Outback regularly (1-2 times per month). We usually have the seared Ahi tuna appetizer or the Ahi tuna salad. It's addictive! If we don't have the tuna, then our back up choice is the Victoria's filet. We recently decided to try some other menu items and had the ribs, delicious. Also tried the Hearts of Gold Mahi Mahi, so good I had it again the next time I went back.
Our food is almost always perfect and if not, we politely mention it and they are happy to make it right. We've never had bad service, wait staff is usually quite friendly.
I do agree the decor is looking a little dated and could use a remodel. -

I've always enjoyed outback style prime ribs. This time I got a 16oz order with steamed brocolli and jacket potato. Steamed brocolli were fantastic, even outshined the rib. I also got the blooming onions to share. It's very good....for a few bites.... but definitely requires a group of ppl to share the calorie load.......the bread they serve is always good, too.

2.5-3 stars
This place is all hype and it definitely doesn't live up to it's name! I only been here once and it'll be my last... Unless a friend really wants to go and try it out. You would think that their bread and butter is steak, but it's just mediocre. I'm no iron chef, but I can whip something out better than this. Why name it Outback STEAKHOUSE? What a gimmick!
On the bright side though, services is always good just like any other chain restaurants. I'm willing to give it a shot again. When somebody notify me that the steaks are up to par... So please live up to your name or change it... It's very misleading! -

Ok so Outback has great food. I love their steaks. Their salmon is good. the Bloomin Onion great. We all know that!
Is this why the servers suck? Every time that I have been in there it seems like the waiters have something better to do, or have really important conversations to have with each other. Why will they need to be good waiters, the food will bring people in.
I guess they are right, I keep going back. -

This Outback is not as good as they were when they first opened.
The service is good..the food is average. If you like peach drinks, try
the Wallaby Darned Down Under!

I want good beef. -

Alright, so i had gone all 23 years of my life without stopping by this joint, and for some reason i had always imagined it would be this high-brow, expensive spot where id feel a little out of place... I'd say i was juuuust a tad off. The service here really blew. The waiter had no belt, a janky ass stained dress shirt that was missing buttons, and the body language of a T-baller who just struck out for the 5th time in a game. He forgot my salad, was rude to my cousin and friends, and just looked like he didnt want to be there. Im not a douche so i didnt make a scene, but i was highly dissapointed. The plate was decent so thats what saves this from a 1 star rating. I probably just got unlucky, because ive generally heard good things from this place, but my first, and likely LAST, visit was whack.

You know what to expect from this chain restaurant, so as a business traveler, if I am not familiar with the area and want a decent steak, I'll head into an Outback.
Which is how I ended up in this location. We sat at the bar because we wanted to catch a little Sunday Night Football. Our bartender was great and provided excellent service (which is why they get that 4th star instead of just 3.) My food came out exactly as I expected (consistency wins points/stars with me). I ordered the filet mignon with the blue cheese topping and had the broccoli and sweet potato as my sides. The broccoli was cooked perfectly (I hate overcooked broccoli) and the sweet potato had that caramelized taste to it.
You wouldn't have to twist my arm to make me come here again. -

This was my first time to Outback. Yea, 25 years was worth the wait. I have heard good things about the famous Franchise so finally with nothing better to do on a wednesday night my girlfriend and I decided to treat ourselves out to a little steak.
We didn't have to wait at all for a table which is nice. Mostly due to the fact that we got there at 8pm. Our server was friendly and the atmosphere pretty standard of a steakhouse. We started with the Bloomin Onion, definitely a must get! It was Super Hot when we got it and it didnt take very long to come out at all. We placed our order and i got "The Melbourne" which was a porter house which was very tasty only a little too rare for my liking towards the bone. My girlfriend got the NY Strip, which was apparently very tasty. We both got baked potato soup which was awesome by the way and garlic mashed potatoes which we both thoroughly enjoyed.
All and all the meal was very good, the service was very attentive and i would totally come back.
Outback steakhouse in stockton is the 3rd best thing to do in Stockton only surpassed by bowling at Pacific and The mall. hahaha. -

Easily one of my fav chains. I've had several birthdays here as I know all my family and friends enjoy the food (and portions!) and we always have a good time.
So, I haven't reviewed this place because being a chain, you know what to expect and whether you like it or not. Having a seriously bad steak meal the other day and being late sunday evening, I felt I had to have a proper steak w/o leaving town. Outback never disappoints in this area and so I had to give some love.
First off, I absolutely love the bread and whipped butter they serve, I could live off it. For apps, I love the kookaburra wings, coconut shrimp or ahi tuna, although their execution can be off at times. For entrees, the tilapia is good or if you want pasta, I suggest the Queensland chicken and shrimp. Most things I've had here have been really good and you can't go wrong with the portion size. But if I want a steak (and I almost always do), its gotta be the rib-eye, medium rare. SO DAMN GOOD. I'm in love with whatever spice seasoning they use, its always got a nice crust and succulent inside, never overcooked (and if they did, I'm sure they'll fire you up another one). If you like horseradish, they have this special sauce... I forget what its called, sounds like "tie die" That stuff is great.
Sometimes the servers are VERY friendly, sitting next to you as you order LOL but its all good. They can disappear at times. Floors can also be slippery too so be careful. Other than that... can't really think of much bad about the place. Great steaks, good food, usually good service, decent prices, my place to go when I want a badass ribeye for $20!! (back in the day it was about $16-18, thats inflation and the economy for ya). You can't do better than that for that price unless you do it yourself at home. -

I love the Outback Steakhouse. Good meat, salad, bread.... so-so service.
I took away 1 star for the service. Service is touch and go. I think about the half dozen times we've been there, we had one really good server.

Outback is just what it is...
Fastfood quality casual + dining so us middle income people can feel like we have splurged on "steak." Let's be honest. It's not that good. But it's better than Jack in the Box.
The only real reason I ever went here back in the day, is because the waitresses were so good looking... and actually, come to think of it, I always had pretty good service. Which is always nice. And the beers were big. So they have that.
So yeah, big woop.Listed in: From the Bowels of Hell

Interior was pretty dimly lit for a non-romantic restaurant setting, but the staff were all very nice! Our server was very quick with requests as well as refilling drinks. We ended up getting the 20oz. Melbourne Steak Medium Rare, and it was absolutely delicious. Our crabcake was delicious, as were our baked potato and Garlic mashed.
I actually mentioned that the floor was clean...it was actually buffed to a brilliant shine, with the exception of a few sweet and low wrappers, it almost looked like a movie setting....almost.
There weren't too many people there, so it was a pretty quiet dinner, but I've been here when it was packed, and it does get pretty loud. No big deal, you'd expect it here.
All-in-all I'm happy, it's probably been two years since I've been to this one, but I'll come back. -

This is our new date night favorite. My wife and I go here 1-2 a month and split the lobster and filet. The service has been great so far. We have not had a problem with the food, and the flavor is wonderful!! If you are looking for a nice resturant and good meal, give them a shot.

Outback has a really great seasoning for their steaks, it keeps me coming back. And even if you don't like bleu cheese, i highly recomend the "bleu cheese chop" salad. They dice the salad, lettuce, veggies and all, into really fine pieces and smother it with a bleu vinigrette with bleu cheese crumbles. It's pretty awesome. The Blooomin onion is kind of a staple here, you have to get it. The prices are a little high, but thats just what you pay at a steak house.
The bar here is great, a really cool and knowledgeable bartending staff. All in all a cool enviroment and great food. After you eat, go have some fun downtown. -

Haven't been here in awhile and was treated out to dinner here by my bro-in-law because my sisters pregnant and he needed to get out of the house before he pulled a Scott Peterson. I know, I know too soon. We both got the Alice Springs chicken (both personal favorites in the Outback) with a side Ceaser salad, how much do you want to bet the waitress thought we were on a date? "Awww they ordered the same thing." Thank God no one even dared to try an Australian accent on me, although in a way I wish they did so I had something to make fun of. My only complaint would be that they were a little skimpy on the fries, like they sprinkled them on my plate out of a "fry shaker." On the other hand,(in an Australian accent) did you need those extra fries you fupa-sporting american? Good service, good food and more importantly good company in a pregnant-lady-free zone.

I tried the rib-eye and Outback special steak, and they were both pretty good. The house salad that came with the steaks was a little lacking something. It just didn't look very appetizing or up to par with the entree. If you're looking for a good steak place to eat, i would go here. Just don't expect to be blown away in any way though.

I got some Outback Gift Cards for Christmas and we went twice in the last month and used them up! First time I went I had the Teriyaki Ribeye. It was delicious!! Great taste from the marinade, very tender piece of meat. Great steak. Last night I had the en fuego shrimp fettuccine. That was really good too. Big pieces of shrimp and the sauce was creamy and had a nice bit of heat to it, thus the en fuego. My wife ordered the filet chopped salad and the meat was too rare for her(she likes her meat more well done, it should be a crime) and when the server checked in she mentioned that and the manager came right over and took care of her and made it right. Great food and great service!

Decent service, steak was actually well prepared. Here is the kicker, they serve neither Dr Pepper nor Mr. Pibb, for a chain joint, that'll take you down to one star. I wrote them about the situation, they replied that they were having a Coke Zero promotion, and Pibb would be back on the tap soon, soon was a year ago, still no Pibb or Pepper.

My family (20 total) and I went to the outback house to celebrate two birthday's. First off they ran out of shrimp so most of what we wanted to ordered was not available...so we had apetizers then a drink...Then we were traumatized by a huge RAT!! We were terrified! Our children were terrified! This was the nastiest episode I have ever experienced at a restaurant! I will never eat here again and would advise others to do the same. GROSS!!

We rarely go to Outback anymore because a. it's expensive and b. the food is not worth what they charge. I almost always get the chicken on the barbie which is basically just grilled chicken. I've tried other things and I really don't like anything else. Like most restaurants in Stockton, be prepared to wait if you go on Friday or Saturday night. The service is okay. Last time I was there, my friend and I went to dinner and we hadn't seen each other in a while so we were talking and the waitress kept coming over after we had paid "to see if we needed anything". Translation "are you done yet?" I felt like she was trying to rush us out the door and I really didn't appreciate it at all. Yes I realize that there are 20 other people waiting for a table but that's not really my problem.

I'm usually not a steak person but I was craving for steak so my bf and I decided to go there. I must say it was delicious. I had the outback special and added lobster+mushroom topping for only 4.99 extra. Even though I had my steak medium well, it was still juicy :) it went great with my mango lemonade. The server was really nice too! I'll definitely will be back for another steak :)

What happened to Outback? This used to be one of our go-to places for a good burger but we've just made our last trip. Decided to have the burger and my wife choose Mom's chopped steak with potatoes. When asked how she wanted her meat prepared my wife stated medium and proceeded to get a lecture about how that would be red and juicy in the middle and was she sure that's how she wanted it prepared. Huh? Why does the server care? The food did not arrive as ordered and was not very good. The service was particularly bad - we were never able to get a refill on our water and it took way to long to pay and get out of there. No manager was in sight and overall it seemed that everyone working that night was phoning it in. We'll never go back.

Steak was blah and the potato wedges or crispy potato things on my plate were inedible. I had a better change chewing the fork than I did those potato rocks that were on my plate. Also, when our bread came we didn't have a knife, nor did we have silverware to extract a knife from. Service and food was sub-par to say the least. That being said, I will not eat steak in Stockton ever again.

Ok I am biased, I work at an Outback Steakhouse in Bakersfield. The location of this place is off the beaten path, which hurts this place a lot. I eat here because I get an employee discount (50% off everything but booze), so it makes sense for me to come here a lot. But if you do want a good quality steak and for a reasonable price come here. Craig, the proprietor, is a very nice guy and he could use the boost in business. I do think if this place was on Pacific Avenue then it would do a lot better. The quality of food is great and the service is good (again, I'm a waiter at a different outback and I kick ass).

I love their bushman bread and butter, the cocoa content makes it that dark. I don't favor the bloomin' onion, their sauce doesn't soften the onion flavor like I feel it should. Their entrees aren't bad though, and the portions are pretty good. My boyfriend typically gets the outback special, and I've tried a number of their "down under special" pastas, chicken, and pork chops with a decent amount of success. Service here is pleasant at least.

i came here for winning a bet with my roommate and I would say this place is slightly above average. The steaks are kinda small but quite juicy and tender. They did serve free bread with refills and the baked potato was a good supplement but I was definitely not full after eating here. The prices are a tad high for the amount of food you get but its definitely better than sizzler. Ive never been to black angus so i wouldnt be able to compare but I would say ruth chris is better if you want to pay a little more. Ill be back here again when I win another bet.

This Outback is very consistent with the other Outbacks I have eaten at. Good parking, and when your done there is a ice cream and a donut shop in the strip mall behind the Outback. mmmmmm
