Humble, TX
I've been coming here for years, and it used to be quite a treat. Recently, however, it's become a bit like going to any other chain restaurant. But it isn't just me; there's reason to my madness: it's the economy, stupid. Ever since the recession hit, the company that owns most of the Outback restaurants has been bleeding money. A LOT of money. In response, they severely pared down the menu options and slashed prices. Unfortunately, the quality of offerings took a hit, as well; allegedly, they started using Select grade beef instead of Choice (hence, the lower steak prices). I think they've also scaled back their mixed drink offerings.
But, I still love me some Bloomin' Onion!! At least at this restaurant chain, I'd rather have one of those in place of desert - and that's a hell of a statement, coming from this sweet tooth. I also love their house salad and fries, so no big loss on the steaks.
So, overall, I'm still giving it four stars, because "yay, I'm a fan." It's not as popular as it used to be (see: economy, stupid), but I like the food and the service is always good at this location. Now if they would just serve kangaroo.... -

Lets just start out by saying the place is clean. i never seen any dirty tables dirty for long, really as soon as people get up there is someone there to clean. and their fast.
The staff at this Outback are really nice.
BBBUUUUUTTTTT!
Their steaks can never be cooked right. i can ask for a medium raw and my steak will come bloody... then i tell them and when my steak does come back and the rest of my group is done eating the steak will be WELL DONE. ill end up asking for it to go because everyone else I'm with is done eat.
BUT no matter how many time i go back which is maybe once a month ill ask for steak (because i hope they will get it right) they will get it wrong every time and blame it one a NEW COOK.... How many new cooks can they have? seems weird... -

This Outback has been here for years and has constantly produced good food. Some of my favorites include the Victoria filet, Alice springs chicken and the ribs. I have one complaint; the last 4 times I've been in their meat quality seems to have changed. This makes me wonder if they went from choice to select grade beef, and this would be a company wide change.

Food is great and the staff is friendly. If you go at dinner time on the weekends expect a wait from 30 minutes to over a hour. This is the cheapest place that we eat compared to the competition.
