Fresno, CA
Blooming onion is by far my favorite. Even though it has about 2,000 calories. Steak is good compared to other pricier places in Fresno such as Cool Hand Lukes, Chris Ruth, and Flemings. Other places may advertise their Prime cut stuff but they taste similar when I lather them in A1 sauce. Service is always good at Outback.

Gawd I forgot how I love their food. Their appetizer Kookaburra Wings is my all time fave!
Dropped in on the 4th after two nights in the woods. Brett our server was very warm and immediately offered us some alcohol. Sadly even with the 107 degrees in Fresno that day we just didn't want any. We want water!
I had a full rack of baby back ribs after sharing the wings. I was longing for more of those brown warm bread that they offer but i know if i go that way I'll be full. So half of their nice warm bread and a full rack was sufficient.
I'm so glad that we stopped by. I completely forgot how I love their shiny floor. The price is always reasonable. Adam went for some steak, chicken and shrimp. Yummy!
We were here early by 15 minutes. They open at 4pm but allowed us to wait inside rather than melt in the heat outside. How considerate is that?
Awesome service, great food and cool waiter. Tons of parking-its Fresno what do you expect? But by 4:15 the place was filling up quickly.Listed in: Top Restaurants

I had a rare cooked 6oz steak with garlic potatoes and a side salad-no dressing. I loved the tomatoes in the salad. Very fresh tasting! The steak was perfection. Great flavor and very juicy and red. Just how I like it. The garlic potatoes couldn't have been better. I gobbled it all down. Soooo good. :)

I love most of their items. This place is very clean and food never made me sick. If you have to pay extra money to eat good and clean food its not bad choice.
Favourite food items
1. NO rules pasta with chicken or veggies with extra white sauce & Butter n bread (Vegetarian also available upon request)
2. Salmon with special sauce
3. Their vanilla ice cream with some coconut toppings.
4. Best of all their potato soup & french onion soup. (you can get both of them in vegetarian also) -

Went to this place as a group of 4 people for a b day dinner. We were seated quickly as it wasnt that busy that particular day, it was midweek. The service was decent, the people themselves were preety friendly, the only thing about it is it took awhile for our food to get out to us. prob around 10 - 15 min longer than a usual place like that. and there weren't all that many people around but that wasnt too big a deal since we were just chatting in the mean time.
once seated, the lighting above the table was kind of bugging and blinding us. we would have asked to be seated elsewhere but looked like all the tables have that kind of lighting. other people were seated fairly close to each other when there was no real reason to be so it felt a bit uncomfortable and packed in.
I had chicken, rib and coconut shrimp plate. They rave about their shrimp so i wanted to try it. Shrimp was good but they way they advertise its like they are amazing or something. They were alright with the sweet sauce it comes with. The rest of the food was very good. We also each had a different drink, i tried the weirdest fruitiest thing i could find and that was the "wallyby darned" was way super sweet. if you have a super sweet tooth you might like it.
The whole experience felt a little dry because were were there for a birthday and they didn't come and sing for the b day boy but they did bring out some ice cream for him and a to go container for it when he asked for one. The b day boy also wanted the loaf of appetizer bread to go and the waiter wrapped that up to go for him as well. Our waiter was pretty friendly. I would return if someone wanted to come here, i want to try the blooming onion next time. -

Friendly service, good food and did I mention friendly service. We arrived on a packed Saturday night and were told that is was going to be a 20-25 minute wait...that was acceptable to our group so we received our restaurant pager and chose a corner to wait. Within 15 minutes we were seated at our table. The hostess was friendly as well as our waitress and our backup waitress as well....what is a backup waitress you might ask...I'll get to that.
Our party had some pretty specific food requests and the waitress took them all without any hesitation and went back to fill the order. She brings out our appetizer and drinks. We got a bloomin' onion which can easily feed 5 people. We also ordered another seafood appetizer whose name escapes me but was delicious.
This is when the friendly service kicks in, as we drank our drinks and when any one of our drinks was getting low, it was immediately replaced with a new one without having to wave down people as is the case in some other restaurants.
Our waitress was coming up on her break so she actually took the time to not only prep the backup waitress on our food and drink orders, she brought her out to our table to introduce her to us and had the backup waitress recite our food and drink order back to us. My friends who were visiting Fresno for the first time were impressed by the friendliness and hospitality displayed there that night.
Our backup waitress was on the ball with serving up our entrées as well as correctly bringing all of our drink refills. I love ordering Arnold Palmers (1/2 lemonade & 1/2 iced tea) and at other restaurants my refill typically consists of someone pouring only iced tea into my existing drink. Not here, a new Arnold Palmer came my way each time my drink ran low. I ordered one of the steak & seafood combos that was on special that night and it was a good meal. My friends all were pleased with their meal choices as well.
We ordered one of the chocolate cake desserts and enjoyed that as well.
From the hostess to both waitresses to the manager whom we purchased a gift card from, we had not only professional, but warm and friendly service. Food was good which made for an overall good dining experience. -

This outback location has great customer service and the girls that work here are cute. Food is good. Just what you expect from any Outback nationwide. They just need to make one at the airport or near freeway access in the Fresno area.

A great place for a drink and an appetizer. For a steak, not so much.
A rib-eye that you've been dreamin' about. Are you kiddin' me? Comparing this chain swine to Jocko's? They drench their steaks in butter, much like Tahoe Joe's and Yosemite Ranch, to give them flavor because the beef they use is horrible.
If you want a good rib-eye, go to Flemmings. Yes it's pricey, but they serve a better cut of beef. Or better yet, go to Whole Foods and pay $24.99/lb for their aged rib-eyes and cook it yourself. -

More like 1.5 stars.
I used to go here back when I'd go out with people who thought that a great restaurant had laminated menus with pictures of the food on it.
The steaks are crap, the select-grade "prime rib" is like gnawing on a shoe, except without the flavor. The aps are not bad. Frozen and shipped from a factory, granted, but not bad.
Jocko's on the other hand makes outstanding steaks that are cooked over real wood coals. An ap at Jocko's would be chips, salsa and a budweiser. It ain't pretty and it's all about the steaks. Nothing like Outback.
If you are all about chains in Fresno go to Tahoe Joe's. Even their baked potatoes are better. So are the drinks for that matter. -

Finally a rib-eye steak meal I can talk about. Great! For a person in constant search for the perfect steak dinner I found my Nirvana.
The only steak joint that shares this rare space is Jocko's in Nipomo. -

Wasn't the biggest fan of Outback. Heard good things about it, but didn't have good experiences at this place. Have been here at least 4 times and it's just ok to me. Like Tahoe Joes and Yosemite Ranch WAY better. The reason I gave them 2 stars is because the booming onion appetizers (or whatever their called) were pretty damn good.

They changed the menu a bit since the last time I visited, but it is still the same good food. I noticed the portion sizes seemed a bit smaller though (Fine with me, the last thing I need is larger portions)
I saw something that said their meat was rated number one by some survey company and thought "yeah right" until I had the leftovers cooked in the microwave for dinner tonight and they tasted better than the steak I had with lunch. -

Diamond Bar, CA
Food is just what you would expect from a chain restaurant. Service is great. Only problem was no free dessert on your birthday and they forgot my birthday daughter's regular kids meal dessert. Plus, they don't know how to cook their meats. Half our orders were either too pink or too well done.

I like outback! I cant say its "great" but it is above average and the service is usually pretty good. One if the things I dont like about the restaurant is the heavy corporate cookie cutter feel the place has. Its almost a TGI Fridays on the inside with fake Australian artifacts hanging from the wall etc etc...

The crab legs are the best in town here. Also the Alice Springs chicken is very good. They have curb side pick-up which is another feature I think about this place. Great food, great prices.

Fresno, CA
I started going to Outback back when I lived in the Bay Area and always enjoyed it. Especially the prime rib. The Fresno location is a far from cry from what I'd gotten used to. The first time it sucked I thought it was a fluke so I gave it another shot. It got even worse! The service was painfully slow, our coconut shrimp were stone cold, our salads were pathetic, my friends shrimp were spoiled (how the cook didn't smell that I have no idea because it reeked to high heaven), my other friend took one bite of her crab legs, put the fork down and flat refused to eat. I braved a bite and lo and behold, they too were borderline rancid. My Sub-Prime Rib was about 60%fat, overcooked, too salty, and lukewarm at best. The alcoholic drinks were great but the rest wasn't fit for hog slop.

For me, this is another Tahoe Joe's. However, their rib-eye steak here definitely outshines Tahoe Joes. I usually like my soups with some type of meat in it but they have a French Onion Soup here that is just to die for. It is just too good to my taste buds. Service is pretty good. The owner actually came out to greet my party and I and apologized for an undercook steak once. He then personally served us the corrected steak and made sure we were having a good time before leaving us. I felt that was extra courtesy that made you feel like the people here wanted to make sure you were getting your money's worth. Definitely a plus :)

I like the outback. The bread is very good and the caesar salad has a very unique caesar dressing. When I want a decent steak meal for a good price, I go here. It's the cost of going to the Spaghetti Factory or a place even less nice. I will continue to come here.

It's alright. What you would expect from a chain Steakhouse restaurant. I can say that the bloomin onion appetizer is pretty decent. Service was good.

Had a great Dinner there on Jan 17. We had a Blooming Onion and 6 oz Steaks with mushrooms and were too full for desert. Everything was cooked the way we ordered it and tasted very good. The only negative was that the server appeared like she didn't want to be at work that day.
