Completely re-done about 10-15 years ago - and wonderfully so. Now, with 8 gates (instead of 4 "gates" through one door, as was the case in the early 90s), a great little regional airport.
As my parents live in the area, I flew in-out of here very often during college, and I note a few great perks that I don't get in big-city airports [and the downsides, too]:
* You don't need to get here any more than 45 minutes before your flight; 1 hour tops in peak travel periods [but note that the check-in people are often also the gate attendants, so if you show up 15 minutes before your flight, there will be nobody there to check you in!]
* Only one very short security line [They're thorough, but not overly so...the negative is that many people flying through here don't "know the drill," so sometimes it can still take a while]
* Free wifi (and a "business center" where you can charge up)
* Though they're small planes, all now get jetbridge boarding - so you won't freeze getting off a plane in January
Negatives:
* No real food past security (but I guess you don't really need it, most of the time), and the food in the little cafe/restaurant isn't particularly appetizing...though the muffins are good!
* Sadly, the little Wisconsin cheese store closed down! But the small store that's left has magazines, snacks, Wisconsin memorabilia, should you be so inclined to purchase something with a cow or badgers or Packers on it.
* The vending machines past security charge $3 for soda - WAY too much for this neck of the woods

I agree with the previous reviews. This little airport is very nice- easily accessible, clean and easy to navigate. It sure beats the metro airports with all the hustle and bustle!

i really expected to fly into a shack like airport where they had an outdoor luggage "area" and little portables that housed the car rental places. i ate crow when i stepped out of the plane and into one of the nicer airports i've ever been in. this place had everything and most importantly, it was heated. really heated. thank you, jeebus.
its still a relatively small airport, but it looks as though its been recently remodeled with all the latest amenities. luggage took approximately 10 min to get once we deplaned and getting a car was rather easy. i hope the rest of the trip goes this smoothly.

Cutest airport I've ever seen. When a airport has only one door for dropping off and picking up and 2 luggage carousals total you know you are in a small town. Everyone was super nice and friendly, and helpful. No worries coming here 1 hour before your flight, there aren't enough people coming or going to need to do that . 45 minutes will work just fine. They are even trying to be more modern with "business commuter" areas with wi-fi and electrical outlets. So cute!

I love this airport! One of the few airports in the country I have been to that is actually comfortable and welcoming. Of course it helps that this is a small regional airport, but still it is a great place.
