Typically this has been a Saturday/Sunday morning recovering spot. We go in just past noon for the Brunch menu which includes $5 omelettes, $5 Bloody Mary, and $4 Mimosa. Pretty grand. I would recommend the "Rangers" omelette because it is filled with chili and cheddar cheese. They serve the food with little tater tots that are crispy and absolutely delightful!

The Bloody Mary here is one of the best I have ever had, if not the very best! It has pepper, horseradish, Tabasco and I don't know what else. So damn good, the hair of that dog.

I have to say though, that I went here at night with my dad recently and the service was HORRIBLE! Usually we get impeccable service in the afternoons but at night it was terrible and our waitress forgot our appetizer even though she asked us if we would like it *before* our food.

Monday-Friday is 2 for 1 Burgers (big, yummy, around $8) and appetizers. Just know that if your table drinks more than $75 worth of Brubakers they will ask you for a credit card even though you are not done.

Oh Our House, you are one of a kind. Presently I probably go to this place about 3 or 4 times a year, but, back in my BU days I was here like every weekend. I know it's a dive bar, but it does seem like it's slightly grungier than it used to be - but - maybe I'm just more jaded . Also - the servers tend to be kind of unfriendly, but whatever, it's part of the scene.

Anyways, the drinks are cheap - can't beat the $2 Brubaker and the cocktails are usually around $5. They have a decent selection of beers on tab and a late night menu. And, the best part was probably the hours playing Jenga on their comfortable couches.

If I am in a bar mood, I like to go here.

Cheap drinks. Cheap food.  And an abundance of games to entertain yourself with- Pretty much everything a bar should have plus some.

Whenever I go here, I always make new friends.  Everyone is pretty friendly, laidback and outgoing.  The couch seating adds to the openess of it all.

The servers, are hit or miss when it comes to efficiency and friendliness.

But overall, this place is awesome.

I, personally, am horrified. I was always quite the fan of Our House--being such a nice, small neighborhood joint. Tonight, however, I was thrown out of the bar for being "overserved" when I had only had one beer. Whoever threw me out refused to let me get my own jacket, my own purse, and close my own tab. When I pointed out, by proof of my tab, that I had only bought one beer, and thus was not intoxicated--let alone even buzzed, the management could not even look me in the eye. He just kept saying "I saw you stumble---maybe its your shoes, but I saw you stumble twice".
I have never been so offended. I used to love Our House, but after this   I don't plan to ever go back. I understand that technically, any bar has the right to remove anyone at any time, any reason--but how the staff handled this I found to be particularly rude and unexcusable.

Our House is a great little dive, and a gem of Allston. Solid food, cheap beers, eclectic crowd, and foosball! Plus ALWAYS great music. Last night I heard Ray Charles, Jay-Z, and some new wave rock within an hour and half.

The darkness, wrap-around couches, low-bar, and the chaos of the seating all add to it's charm. People have called it a hipster bar but I disagree; while hipsters can be spotted here, I have seen college kids, yuppies, gnarly biker-looking chicks, and your average looking crew on the same night.

Always a good time, whether it's packed or empty.

You know how people always talk about "our bar", kinda like the whole Cheers thing but in real life? Our House is that place for us, the bar we frequented 1, 2, 3 nights a week during college and continue to do so (albeit not quite as often... we're gettin too old to go out like we used to).

This place has it all: wicked chill atmosphere complete with soundtrack from someone's Ipod, a bevvy of various seating options (stools, tables n chairs, couches, ledges), Naked Photo Hunt (my favorite game EVER), $2 Brubakers, a plethora of board games (the Jenga is the drinking version with all kinds of random stuff written on it), foosball/pool/other various video games to satisfy your add, running into at least one friend/acquaintance/coworker without fail, food if you're hungry... basically the keys to life.

For that alone, it deserves 5 stars, but I'll give it a 4.5 to be objective: some of their mixed drinks/shooters really suck (I once ordered a birthday cake shot which I had had elsewhere before and was delicious, but this version was probably the grossest alcohol drink I've ever tasted, UGH), the line to get in can get ridiculously long and move too slowly at primetime, and sometimes going to a place where you know everyone isn't necessarily a good thing (although not so much Our House's fault).

Now that I'm back in school, it may be time to start back up frequenting this place... feels like home :)

This place is awesome! I went on a Tuesday night when it was pretty dead. We caught a sox game and enjoyed the decent draft selection on the super comfy & cozy winding "couch" that followed the pattern of in-ceiling lights. The service was fast and friendly, probably because the number of staff matched the number of patrons. I did not get to take advantage of the board game selection, but I did scope it out on my way out the door, it is a great selection, heavy on the Scrabble.

I did not eat here, but I'm sure I will soon!

Bottom line; great spot for a crowd or a couple. Friendly service and just the right amount of dive bar charm.

Our House is a good time waiting to happen. it's a great place to meet up with a mixed crowd and catch up over beers. The music isn't loud, the people are super friendly, the random shot/free tiny cocktail girls are rather entertaining...... I may be biased, as I did get a completely ridiculous Stoli raz t-shirt here ;)
But seriously, you can sit down, not feel rushed, pressured to order some fancy drink and toss back a few here. It's comfortable and easy going. A great place for a Thursday night catch up.

I'm a big fan of Our House.  The beer is cheap and there's a good selection.  Everyone there is friend and there are board games you can borrow.  The place is a little dingy but that's just the way it is.  Oh ya, I love the large couch in front of the TV.  The place is good to watch the game.

Even when this bar is bad, it's still good.
My friend's and I have been going here every Friday and Saturday for the past 3 weeks. Last Saturday we made the mistake of leaving and finding a new bar. We decided to never leave Our House again.

The staff has never given me any trouble but I have had a few friends who have had issues with them... but most of the bartenders are awesome. Especially the back bar ones.

Okay, I like this place a bit more now, since pool is only $1/game!  What the...!?  In Cali, it's per hour and per person, so this was mind-boggling.  The drinks are alright, although the bartender did overcharge me $4 for our drinks, but apologized and gave me cash back.  I'm going to have to come back here for sure after I master the Black Widow's pool game techniques.  They also have board games up in the front, which is really cool, and Thursdays, starting 10/8, they'll have foosball from 9pm-1am.

If you're not in the mood for a hipster dive bar, don't go here. It probably hasn't been renovated since 1999 (which I think that is an intentional design choice), and I hope they don't renovate again until 2099. This place isn't meant to be pristine, which is why I go here when I just want a cheap drink, a dark bar, and a good laugh.

Unlike some of the Allston bars, you can walk into Our House wearing whatever it is you wore to work, grocery shopping...or to the gym, and no one gives you a second glance. Plus, they have tons of fun games (board games, Big Buck Hunter, Foos Ball, etc.), trivia nights, and tournaments.

This is a great place to come if you don't want all the muss and fuss of a "big night out", and you just feel like going out, being yourself, and not spending a boatload of cash. Just don't bring and of your snooty friends....they won't like it:)

I consider The Heez to be my regular bar. Me and the other members of the Beals Street Bike Gang head there two or three times a week. I go for the Brubakers ($2.50 pints in recycled bottles that are a rarity around town), the lounge atmosphere and the leisure games like buck hunter, pool and of course foos.

The food here is surprisingly good. Burgers are tastey, waffle fries are bomb and the mozz sticks are a personal fave. They used to have a dollar menu that was sweet, but it went the way of their brunch and dollar burger nights.

Trivia here is kind of a sham. a bunch of hipster kids will always form one giant group and then pool answers. That is lame. Oh, I should also mention that this is def a hipster bar, though not exclusively so.

Unlike nearby bars such as the silhouette and the model (total shit-hole) where you either have to be a decaying alcoholic barfly or your pants have to be cutting off your circulation in order to feel welcome, Our House West takes all kinds. You get some bros and floosies here and there, but the crowd is mostly low-key pepes in their early 20's with an "alternative" bent.

I wouldn't consider the Heezy a dive, but it's also not a place you're going to get dressed up to go. It's "garden level," that great realty euphemism that means subterranean, but that dark adds to cave-like feel of the bar.

My advice, come on a thursay night or weekend if you want it bumpin. The rest of the week is really hit and miss. Order a Brubey or a 'Gansett and be sure to explore the whole establishment. There are foosball tables around the corner from the bathrooms and if you keep trekking, you'll find a "secret" back bar that can hold about 10 people at once. There's also a TV back there where we used to watch celts playoff games when the front was too heated.

This is a good bar to end the night with, as they never get people (us mostly) out of the bar till 2:15 or 2:30. It's also a good date spot since the drinks are cheap, the vibe is chill and it's not as loud or run-down as most other Allston bars.

I don't usually get crazily sentimental with my reviews, but Our House holds a special place in my heart.  My most recent ex ('cause there's, like, sooo many!) took me here on our first date.  I didn't even know it was really a date at the time as we'd planned on hanging out in a T subway and charcoaling the scene (go hipster art people!)  Either way, plans changed, and he got the bright idea to take me to Our House.

After impressing me with his mad parallel parking skills, we headed inside and the scene surprised me, for sure.  Long sectional couches took up the central part of the bar, surrounding some small tables and stationed TVs.  Couches?  In a bar?  We settled into a couch and both ordered a Bass.

The atmosphere wasn't so overwhelming that we couldn't have a conversation, but it was a tad dark in there.  Despite that there was a lot to explore so I wasn't really bothered by the lighting.  After settling in, I quickly discovered the best part of the bar...

Board games!  They have stacks of board games for you to choose from and we sipped beer and our nice waitress brought us a plate of veggie potato skins while playing Battleship.  I've never known another bar to offer that, but who doesn't enjoy a relaxing round of Candyland with their beer?  It became especially awesome when I knocked my Bass onto the game. (I am very good at endearing myself to people on first dates).  On that note, we packed it up and decided to play pool.

I remember after the Bass/Battleship fiasco that I wanted to redeem myself.  So, I did my best to kick his ass in pool.  I failed at this too, but I did manage to flirt it up (only to have him point out that it was terribly obvious later on.  wah wah waaah.).  At this rate, I have to be undeniably endearing!

After a while, we decided to cap off the night by heading to the 88 for some smoothie action.  That in turn became joining up with friends, shooting Jameson, and starting an RHCP sing-a-long.  Best. Date. Ever.  So, I feel the need to thank Our House.  This place is part of the reason I spent the last year and a half with such an amazing individual.

"Who got the Chili burger"...Chilly burger?  No i wanted a Philly burger.  At that point I knew the meal was going to go down hill.

My friends and I were a table of about 8 and the only people in here on a Saturday night.  The place had a Kiss108 / Back in the day buffet Jammin 945 mix tape with 8 songs playing on repeat.  That was interesting in and of itself.

The food was horrific, not to mention the mix up, but the eventually hamburger i got was more like the chard remains of a steak left on the grill overnight.  I think it could have passed as a plastic hamburger for an old fisher-price kitchen play set.  The rest of my night consisted of unsuccessful attempts at vomiting and cursing the avenue for not having anyplace to sit and eat.

I wouldn't recommend this place...but it will get one star just for the fact that I should have know better from the start....puke

Recent experiences have made me bump Our House up a star.

I volunteered at a private charity event here and Our House was nothing but generous and accommodating.  Drink specials, an appetizer buffet, Wii bowling (woo!), and board games.  What's not to like??  Even moreso than the general bar area, there's a definite feel of being in the living room of a friend's apartment (who just happens to throw good/big parties), but I think it works for them.  The wait staff was attentive and friendly.  Overall just a great experience and a great place to work with.

The reviews on here are pretty consistent - Old, kind of dumpy, couches, board games, foosball, cheap beer, not so good food, very inviting atmosphere. I'll take a place like this over a place like the Kells any day of the week, and I usually did, and sometimes still do though I don't live so close anymore. When I lived in the area I used to go here probably once every other week for a few years. The food is okay at best, but certainly edible, especially after a couple Brubakers. I wouldn't go there to eat though, especially since there are so many other good alternatives in the area. This is a great place to go with a group of friends, but it does fill up so I always found it best to go a bit early and gran some good couch real estate. This is the ideal neighborhood bar and I miss it dearly.

Only fitting that a drunk like me would make Our House her hundredth review...

I come for the drinks. Weekdays are horrible because it's absolutely deserted so no one even tries so they don't rush to make you a drink. But the weekends are worse cuz you can't get a drink no matter how desperate you are for one. So yeah...

This bar is OK if you go in with the right expectations.

This is not a place to go if you want some clubbing/dancing/hook up action to happen. Your skills at Connect Four might be more impressive to the people here than any dance moves you may think you are capable of bustin' out.

The crowd is very much scenster/hipster, with that sort of pseudo-ironic mix of ill fitting pants, goofy hair cuts and dark framed glasses that makes you wonder was punk rock's death was short and painless, or is emo just holding it hostage in a basement somewhere, to be slowly raped to death?

The food is nothing special. The have a good 2 for 1 burger deal during dinner hours where you can get an appetizer and burger for a respectable price. The deal sort of brings the price into the range that it should be, considering the quality of the food, but in the city that's really all you can ask for. The waffle fries, however, are really good. Always crispy, never soggy.

The beers are the usual selections, with the crowd here skewing the sales of PBR and Brubaker's. I personally hate Brubakers. I'm not sure how the brewery gets away with selling bottled water as beer, and you don't save any money because, even though they are $2 a bottle, you end up drinking more than you should and the savings disappear.

The main attraction of the bar is the fact that it's a good hang out to meet up with friends and hang out. There are plenty of games, Foosball tables and seating options. It's never too crowded and the music isn't so loud that you can't hear each other. It's also got Big Buck Hunter! That's a plus.

So, in short, a good place for friends to hang out but a terrible place for getting drunk or trying to find a cosigner for the lease inn your boom boom room.

This place intrigued me for quite some time and I finally decided to check it out a while back with a friend one evening and we both loved it.

I'm not sure if it was the comfortable couches, the non-crampness of the place, the drinks or the combination of everything but we felt very at ease and were delighted with the few hours we killed there.

We ordered drinks at the main bar and could talk without being bothered by any loud music. People were playing board games, texting and chatting away around us and we even got to test out some future appetizers that they were thinking about introducing. They were delicious and our feedback was taken very seriously which shows that they care and that is awesome!

Great place, I highly recommend it, especially since they have a pretty good selection for both liquor and beers!

The only thing keeping it from a perfect 5-star rating is the fact that street parking in that area can be a total nightmare...

Well, you can get cheapo beer.  Crappy crappy beer.  Free mints by the door.

Tap selection pretty good.  Weekends are horrible, takes forever to get your drink.  Thursdays, too.

Spacious--- various pockets of space, so usually can find a seat and/or table at some point.  Not really for the older crowd.  And by old I mean 22+.

This is probably my favorite chill bar. The music is always great and same with the atmosphere. I love the laid back kind of bars where you can just kick it with your friends. The $2.50 house beer really isn't that bad tasting plus you get a lot more too! So I usually choose that instead of a Blue Moon or Sam's. They had a 'couch' which isn't so bad and their food is great too! Fooze ball, darts and pool... they've got it all. I usually try to get my friends here to either start the night or for a nice relaxing atmosphere.

I like OHW alot; we come here often as we live in the area and it serves it's purpose very well. I'm usually here a couple times a week while I'm doin the Allston bar crawl after work, and I'm always down for this place for several reasons

1) loaded waffle fries

2) Awesome staff. They got me champagne and toasted me on my birthday and I was only there for an hour. Sweethearts.

3) Scattergories. I invoke the comma rule and I always lose anyways, but still, I like to have it available.

4) $2 Brubakers. I get these and shots of Jack on the reg and I don't know what else they have but I'm sure it's fine. A couple of rounds greatly disadvantage my Scattergories skills, but ups the chances that I will somehow work the word 'cock' into every answer.

5)Privacy. Some people think it's a bad thing that you don't really get slobbered on here, but I cherish it. The layout doesn't really allow for anyone to hit on you, or for you to leave your group and talk to the cutie playing Big Buck Hunter, but it's just as well. I shouldn't speak to strangers when drinking anyways

I think its necessary to go into Our House with the right expectations.  And with the right people.  Loooove the $2 bruebaker because if you're already drunk it's a great deal and keeps the buzz going.  Collegiate binge drinkers aside, there is foosball in the back and various board games up front.

IMPORTANT - If you are looking for comfort and relaxation in your drinking atmosphere, come here any night except Friday or Saturday.  It tends to get crowded on those nights and loses some of its appeal.  But otherwise, you might catch the owner/manager walking around to hand loyal patrons a free drink. I can't comment on the food scene, having never experienced more than what the bartender had to offer.

Sometimes the only cure for boredom is cheap beer and Jenga.

I can't say I've ever sampled the food here, but the drink selection is pretty good and decently priced (for decent prices, see "Brubaker") What I especially like about Our House is that all the various types of Allstonians seem to go here: bros, hipsters, non-bros-or-hipsters. I think it might be the board games. Yes, there are big swaths of the place that aren't so good if you want some quiet, but they're there.

This was probably my favorite allston bar.  It's really a fun place to hang out, and the long island iced teas will loosen you up pretty quickly, haha.  Enjoy

Great place to hang out with friends.  This is one of the best hole in the wall places in the area.  The food is good, the drinks are pretty cheap.  They have a meal deal during the week, 2 for 1 appetizers or burgers and they always have $2.50 brubakers.  This place is best to go with a group of people to hang out. They have a good supply of boardgames that are always fun to play after a few drinks.  They have a pool table, a foosball table and some video games, and a small outdoor seating area.  There's always an interesting choice of music playing throughout the place, the bathrooms are pretty grimey, the couches may be a little dirty feeling, but overall this place is excellent.

It all depends on what you're looking for.  If you want to go to a place and play XBOX and pretend you're in your living room then you should give this place 4 stars.  This is for people who don't have their own living rooms.  If you want to go out, meet people, get a poke on, and regret it all in the morning then stay away from here.

The food is cheap and it's alright.  They have $2 dollar Brubakers but those taste like butthole.  I'd stick to the mixers or whatevers on draft.

Bottom line. There's some serious talent in this place. The problem is, you can't converse with people without looking like a cheeseball.  Take this from the master of karate/friendship.  If you're some kind of wizard at scoring pie you'll still have a difficult time at this place.  You'll have to be like a Level 10 Wizard like Gandalf the White or something.

The bathrooms are ridiculous in this place.  You might as well be holding another mans johnson when you go in there.  It's all crowded and everything is wet with a mist of piss and sadness.  Major bum out.

But check it out if you like bad places.. it will be great for you.

dont you dare write off this place just because of the creepy give it usually gives off. our house is supreme in chill force! it is such a relaxed vibe and they have stupid good music. One night, i was chugging a beer and next thing i hear is lemon tree by..um..by..whatever, it was surprising to hear that this chill song was playing.

oh, oh, also you can play foosball, and pool, and there is a video game room! tell me about the 2.50 brubaker, no wait, ill tell you all about it, its cheap and its beer, so whatever, just drink it.

feel like wearing jeans and a sweatshirt on friday night? fine by me every once in a while, but its more than accepted at our house, its canon law.

One of my favorite bars to go to for its laid-back atmosphere and board games, and there burgers make it a great place to grab a quick dinner.  On weeknights they have 2 for 1 burgers and it is such a great bargain.

Add cheap beers in with the burgers and you have made a great night!

Not even cool if you're in college. Easily one of the worst places I've ever been. How it remains in business is mindboggling.

Imagine a lame idea for a frathouse filled with snobs, all of whom give off a vibe not unlike "hey, who invited you to _our house_?"

The bar is not well monitored and drinks can be easily tampered with when it gets busy.

Allston has always had a bad reputation for creeps putting date-rape drugs in drinks, so ladies WATCH YOUR DRINKS! This is sound advice for anyone drinking anywhere that has a busy bar. I hope the management of Our House will read this and take measures to ensure the safety of their customers.

Regardless, this is someone's idea of a college bar. My advice is to stay away.

Going to grab drinks at Our House is sort of like going to grab drinks in your friend's mom's basement....there are a bunch of tables, some old couches and stacks of board games available to those of us who are too competitive to just sit and socialize at bars.  It sort of has that "basement" smell, too, which depending on your viewpoint, may or may not be a bad thing.

The drinks are cheap (yes, there are $2 Brubakers, but the well drinks are also pretty cheap), and the bartending service sort of matches the friend's mom's basement attitude; I ordered a muddled old fashioned, just to see what happened, and got the expected "mom's basement" service: our server took the order (asking me to repeat it twice) walked to the bar, walked back and announced "Sorry, we can't make that. We don't have Old Fashioned Whiskey here".  Riiight.... (for those of you who aren't bartenders or pretentious drinkers, there is no such thing as "old fashioned whiskey'; you just need plain ol' well whiskey for that drink...).  Anyhow, I wasn't expecting much, so I can't say I was surprised.

It's a good choice for a sweatshirt kind of night out....the fries are tasty, and of course there are the board games.

When it comes down to it, though, unless you're planning on meeting a bunch of people out there, the drinks at our house are always cheaper than those at Our House, our couches are cleaner, and at least I know how to make a MOF ;)

Our house is a chill bar. I struggle at times to decide whether I love or merely tollerate Our House and what it comes down to is the fact that our house is a chill bar. Its a good place to hang out and have a few cheap beers with some friends, sit on a comfy couch, and maybe play some board games. The music isnt overbearing, the waitresses are pretty friendly and the drinks are cheap.

Did i mention the drinks are cheap? 2.50 for a 16 oz brubakers is not to be scoffed at, but you get what you pay for. If you pay attention you can get some pretty good deals on food such as a dollar menu during the week. The dollar menu food leaves something to be desired and ranks just above fast food.

This is not your everyday bar so if you are looking for a place to dance and make poor decisions, Our House is not the place to do it. If youre tired of the same old bars with the same old assholes, i would highly recomend our house.
