Go here whenever I go to Union Station. Great and hot Japanese food with some snacks/desserts as options. They have takoyaki, rice bowls, sushi hand rolls (fully customizable to your liking), in addition to stuff like boba and drinks... and the special crepes they have. Whatever you'd like, they have here for the most part as far as a snack, lunch, dinner, dessert, etc. Very quick service too. Highly recommended if you stop by.
My first visit I got a california spicy salmon tuna hand roll customized and it was delicious. Recently I got a beef bowl which was great too!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 29, 2017
The Oto-Oto Express stand is located inside of Union Station. I got the spicy tuna bowl and it was good for the price. They had a good portion of spicy tuna on top. The spicy tuna had a good spice as well. It was a mixture of sriracha and mayo. My rice tasted a bit overcooked but I didn't mind it as much.
This place usually has a moderate amount of people in line but I was lucky to go when it wasn't rush time for them. The owner was very sweet and can be a bit pushy about selling his items. I always just politely decline. This stand isn't a bad option if you want food at an affordable price. I would avoid the handrolls though. The portions in there are tiny.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liza H.Sacramento, CA59123224Apr 27, 2017
The first time I came here, I felt like it didn't make sense. Crepes and California rolls?? Then I went to Japan and realized everything made sense. Japanese people are obsessed with crepes!
This place obviously isn't the best food ever but with their whole menu below $8 and extremely fast service, I'd say it's a solid choice if you need a snack on the go.
I tried their beef sukiyaki sandwich and was pleasantly surprised! Not too much rice, not too sweet with the sukiyaki beef, and they even heated it up for me.
They also have Japanese crackers and snacks.

If it was fresh once and need to use the microwave to heat up the food, I rather you be up front about it Rather than I caught them being so secretive, saw the kitchen guy put the takuyaki in the microwave and use a torch to make it look fresh and asked them about why they reheated the food in microwave. I will be more appreciate you tell me the process before taking my money. Don't try to tell me the takuyaki is made in Japan because it ain't! It is common in Japan with convenience store like 7-11 but not in a chain restaurant express shop.
I understand you can not make it fresh and still trying to offer different options, Then don't sell it if you can't keep the quality controlHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 10, 2017
Wow. I didn't realize that LA Union Station had another entrance on the East side. I'm glad that I found this little take out place. I purchased the beef bowl for $7.50 for my dinner on the train. The beef melted in my mouth and it had a sweet taste- less saltier than Yoshinoya.

Perhaps it was my fault for thinking that a crepe & sushi place in Union Station might be promising, and then that a California crepe sounded like a good idea. It was not.
I considered getting a pre-made sushi roll here, but judging by their appearance in the display fridge, they didn't look fresh. After then quickly glancing at the menu, I decided that a freshly made crepe was probably the better choice, and the California crepe (crab, avocado, mayo) sounded intriguing enough in my starving state.
Here's the thing. A good crepe starts with a good batter, which is then cooked to be thin and slightly crispy on the outside. What I got was a floppy, undercooked, sad crepe, which was made soggier by the fact that more mayo was unnecessarily added to the California roll crab filling (which is already dressed in mayo), which was made continually more mushy by overripe avocado.
Honestly I almost never throw away food, especially when hungry, but I had to in this case after somehow making it through half of the crepe.
One of the saddest meals of my life. Save your $7.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Massi F.El Segundo, CA2203931771Sep 11, 2017
Located on inside union station, I stopped by there for a quick bite one morning. I was on a tour with a few Yelp friends and decided to give them a try.
I bought prepackaged cream puff and Japanese cheese cake.
Both were good for packaged food. Service was really good and the guy behind the counter was very helpful. I would definitely stop by again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Katrina Jean C.Los Angeles, CA37176107Oct 19, 2017
I've been here multiple times with my husband. Since finding out about this place, it has been our go-to for snacks whenever we're at union station.
I've had their banana nutella crepe, green tea crepe, takoyaki, and red bean matcha pastry thing (forgot the name). My husband had the takoyaki and strawberry caramel crepe.
ALWAYS A GOOD TIME. The workers are great and we get this thing where we get 5 bucks off for every 5th visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erika S.Los Angeles, CA593264174Jun 19, 2017
This is a little kiosk located in Union Station. I was hoping to grab some food from Little Japan before getting on my bus, but I got lost looking for it, so I was happy to find this.
I ordered the avocado hand roll and beef sandwich. The portions are a little small, but good enough. I liked that the avocado was nice and fresh with some other greens to add texture. The beef sandwich was pretty plain. I wish there was something besides just the beef inside and needed to add soy sauce for some flavor.
Not bad for a little kiosk!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
