Okay, I must admit, there's no way I could have found this store without a recommendation from a neighbor. It seems there are so many dog stores, dog walkers, dog trainers.. you get my drift, that picking one is a difficult task. Especially if this is your first dog.

So my first recon visit ended up with a purchase of a matching collar, harness, and leash from Gwen Gear(made in SF). Sean was extremely helpful with answering questions and suggestions for a newbie dog owner, me. He carries the higher quality of products and food, and has Jeffrey's raw food which we will be using.

The store seems to carry a lot of different products and if there's something specific you want, I'm sure Sean can order it. He's had to order several items for me and the great service is why I come back!

Service:  5 stars *****

I LOVE THIS STORE! So much to choose from and that's saying a lot since it's not a huge store. I like their wide assortment of collars, harnesses and leashes, it did not help that I'm a female that loves to accessorise. You figure I should just buy something for myself. OK back to my dog.. I wanted to get him Ines De La Fressange gear and to my surprise they had four different colors and it was all on sale! Score. They also carry an assortment of clothes, toys, treats, carriers, whatever you wanna spoil your pup with!

I overheard an excited couple rave over Osso & Co. and how they're the only store that carries their choice of organic dog food. Go figure. The salespeople are so helpful and are very familiar with their products. There's also a groomer that works for them but it's by appointment only.

I had such a great time I forgot that I waited an extra 10 mins outside because the salesguy was late, probably hung over. Oh well, I'll be back regardless.

I have been looking for a sweater for my dog, and have been shopping around at various pet stores in the City.  I walked in to Osso & Co. and the salesperson never acxknowledged me.  I walked over to the sweater table and found one that I loved.  There was no one else in the store, yet the salesperson couldn't even bother to ask if I needed help or even say hi.  We were in there for a while, and he never said one word to me.  If he had, he would've had an easy $80 sale.  Instead, they just lost a potential customer.

Sean (sp?) at Osso is a GREAT dude.  Very helpful, and since his store typically only sells the higher end more expensive products (although higher end usually means healthier and better, etc.) he's mindful of this and never tries to up-sell me.  Very appreciated.  But even though the place can be somewhat pricey, it's like I said, you pay for what you get, good and healthy pet food and long lasting quality products.

I simply lurve this store. It's for sure my favorite doggie boutique in the city. Such a great selection of collars, leashes, and suuper cute clothing that isn't too foofoo. Plus they have pretty much anything else you'll need for your pooch, and some stuff for the kitties too. And they're really reasonably priced for what you're getting, ie quality goods and food.

Another huge draw is the excellent service, a damn clean store (I die, and not in the rachel zoe way, when you walk in a pet store that smells like poop/pee swirl), and just a really nice set up (light, spacing, displays). Lastly, the owner has 2 english bulldogs. Who don't even like each other. Which makes me die, in the rachel zoe way.

Very cute shop. I frequent this place since I live only a few blocks away. I received a lot of help when selecting a new dog food, and they have a great selection of treats, toys and leashes. If only it weren't so darn expensive! But I shop here anyway and it makes me feel better about the price to know I'm helping support a local business, not a huge corporation like Petsmart.

Sometimes when I'm bored, I like to go onto the pets section of Craigslist and look at all the adorable dogs just waiting for a home. Even though I'm in no position to own a pet, I'll spend hours zooming in on all of the dogs' pics and reading the cute blurbs about them.

While clicking away....

I like to imagine which dog I would choose to be mine.

..... where my dog would sleep

Who would walk them while I was at work...

How I'd train them.......

if they'd like reality TV as much as me...

if they'd listen to me...

And where we'd shop together for all of their doggie needs....

So me wandering into Osso (a store full of dog stuff) is not out of the ordinary for me...I've been preparing for an imaginary dog for forever now.

Osso and Co is well laid out, spacious, and eye-brow raising-ly charming. I had a particularly good time exploring all of their displays, because all of their clothes and doggie items are exceptionally stylish and hip. Humorously so. They carry  Brazilian jerseys, perfect proportioned tweed coats, bright pink Juicy-like dog get-ups, and other contemporary clothing: all custom made for Osso.

If you shop here, I can guarantee that your dog will ALWAYS be better dressed than you. And you'll just have to accept that fact, and may even have to look into color coordinating with your pooch.

But.... if you can't deal with competing with your dog for guys, and women (cause with these clothes, you will be). If you don't like putting your dog in clothes. Or if your dog won't let you get near it with any sort of mini clothes item....Osso and Co still has a lot of fun items.

They have a lot of "awwwwwwwww........." toys like plush cupcakes and doughnuts (little pricey...but soooooo cute) decorated water bowls (for both dogs and cats) colorful leashes, and practical stuff like doggie poop bag holders.

I even had the opportunity to meet Dinky, one of the owner's dog. He sat on the counter, as I paid for my item, looking pretty pimp in a pink and purple necktie. Supposedly Dinky is very attached to a lot of the toys in the store and will often let people know not to touch them. Hence Dinky is usually peering through a fence in a back room...

... tail wagging and anxious to see who's buying HIS pooch plush toys.

oh man, I could spend way more time and money than I need to here.  Osso & Co. has a great selection of, well, EVERYTHING. From nautical star bedazzled dog collars to catnip cigars and modern dog bowls for the very stylish pooch in your life.

I was really pleased with their prices too. I found a great harness/leash combo for my chihuahua mix and smiled happily at the $25 price tag. More than reasonable for the funky/fun orange and gray colored set.

The owner is an absolute doll and fed our puppies treats while we shopped.  They also had rock n roll hoodies (seriously considering the Blondie one for our Boston Terrier) and all kinds of cute doggie styles.

I am SO happy to have a store like this within walking distance. We'll definitely be regulars at Osso.

I take my two babies (aka chihuahuas) Mac and BB, on walks here all the time. This place is so cute! I bought a cute vinyl dog carrier bag to put them in when I travel. It's airline approved and fits easily under the seat. If you have toy breed dogs, you know it's not easy finding a cute and *fashionable* bag for air travel!

They also have tons of cute toys and clothes (which I unfortunately have a weakness for purchasing.) Thanks to Osso & Co, my chihuahuas are the most fashionable dogs in my neighborhood! I want to dock a star (but I won't because it's not fair) just because sometimes you don't want to spend $50 on a doggie sweater. (But I do anyway most times. Bleh.) My dogs must look cute!!! They are a reflection of me!!!!

(How many times did I use the word cute in this review?)

This is a very interesting and inspiring pet store. The stuff is mostly very unique and the merchandise ranges form high-end crystal collars to simple yet beautifully designed, cheaper ones. Overall, I was impressed with the designs. They have things that don't look like pet supplies, they just look like a cool table or a cool pillow or a cool bracelet, and so on. No more fugly cat toys for me.

I bought a gummi cat collar with dots on it. The cat who has it now seems to enjoy more than any other collar he's had.

With a $1 store going in a half a block from my house....(so not happy about that), our neighborhood could use a store like Osso & Co.  Class up the neighborhood...don't bring it down.

Walking into this adorable pet supply store, I felt like I should be seeing any of Hollywood's pocket dog celebrities, like Paris or Mischa shopping here too.  Not because its expensive, but because they have the hippest doggie fashions and I could see Tinkerbell in any of the rhinestone collars, or pink doggie sweaters.  Maybe Jake's puggle would wear the camouflaged gear and matching harness/leash combo.  Maybe some celebrities oddly bred labradoodle could sleep comfortably in the "garden", a bed that resembles grass, and is surrounded by flowers.  There is awesome doggie art hanging on the walls, and even the doggie tags you can choose from are all bling.  The Western Additions own celebrity hot spot, and I don't think they planned it that way.  Too bad there are no celebrities in the WA.

Alright, it probably wont go down this way, but maybe if I continue to shop here,  I can become a neighborhood celebrity, and everyone will talk about that time Lauren and Brody came into the shop.  Remember that time?

OK, I know, I don't have a dog.  But we were walking up Hayes and at Broderick there was this store full of doggie supplies.  Stuffed dogs, stuffed  bears, stainless water bowl on the sidewalk, yaddayadda.  And I suddenly realized, "Hey!  I need to catalog this business for the NOPNA web site directory."  So we walked in to check it out.

All kinds of stuff to keep doggie entertained.  I was impressed with the plush doghouse-style doggie beds.  And the little stuffed dolls that doggie could tear up to his heart's content -- Whoops!  There was a doll in a muscle shirt (wife beater?) with the word EX on the front.  Bite that one, doggie!

If you have a dog, you might want to take a look at this place.

What can I say about this place.. it's FABULOUS... the owner was extremely knowledgeable... it was way clean... I wanted everything in the store and plan on getting it... the  clothes are adorable... the leashes... the beds.. OH MY GOD... one of a kind.... the bags.... well.... couldn't make up my mind because I loved them all....the treats... friggen cute.....

But the one thing that I really liked the most.. was that the owner started telling me about their classes... the dog rescue..

After listening too him I new he was a dog lover... with good taste of course... .

I will go back over and over again, and I love that I found the place.....

This store is so cute that want to eat it up.  I mean, in a purely figurative way, of course, the way that you want to eat up cute animals or some babies (but mostly cute animals).

Anyhow, before I say anything more incriminating, Osso & Co has a perfect adorable selection of boutique-y dog goods without being prohibitively expensive.  And so close for us NOPA dwellers!  They were also extremely helpful in pointing us to a training kind of collar for our schnoodle who can pull like he has a sled and a bunch of huskies chasing after him.

Plus, it's always fun to drive or walk by and see what their display is (I would totally get one of their fantastic Shag-esque cat dog toys if I weren't so certain that Astro would disembowel its cottony insides in 0.5 seconds).

Store is well-organized, clean, and has an extraordinary selection of items for small and mid-sized dogs as well as a somewhat smaller selection of items for cats and larger dogs. The selection of collars/leashes/harnesses (for pets of all sizes) is phenomenal.

There are two (male) employees who have helped me and both are very polite and helpful. One is also involved in rescue, which always earns extra points from me.

The store allows you to try items on your pet to ensure a good fit before purchasing. They also allow you to return/exchange items that don't fit or don't otherwise work out -- which is great if you happen to wander in one day without your pet... which is exactly what I did. I have difficult-to-fit breed (a standard dachshund) so this policy is a god-send.

Others have mentioned that their items are pricey but I've been in several other Bay area specialty shops for pets and haven't seen a lot of this stuff elsewhere. I've only purchased a jacket/harness, collar, and leash here (so I can't comment on the pet food prices), but the items are high-quality and have held up well; I expect them to last well into the future. I also think it's preferable to spend a little more for higher quality items from a local retailer than to buy cheaply-made items from the pet mega-marts.

Our dog and cats are both allergic to grains in their food.  I was SO excited when Osso & Co opened in our 'hood.  They where fantastic in helping us find food that fit all of our animals' diets - which, when the cat that's really allergic goes on hunger strike, is not a very easy thing to do.  :)

We also get our toys there, the dog LOVE'S his "Monti the Monkey" (we've replaced two of them) squeaky toy.  I highly recommend it.  The catnip fish are great too!

They always remember us when we come in, and know all of our animals by name.  If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

I decided it was finally time to upgrade my dog's accessories from prison-garb issued by the SPCA when I'd adopted him.  I'd started to feel a little guilty, like all the other dogs at the park were judging him based on his plastic neon yellow collar..."Oh, see that one?  He just got out of The Pound.  That must explain his male-on-male humping problem."  So to lessen the stigma, I ducked into Osso & Co.

Now he has a pink collar.  Let's not get into a discussion as to why that's better than neon yellow.  But it's okay, because he's secure in his masculinity.  Plus, I bought the matching leash and it's super cute.  Um, I mean, it's super effective.  My favorite canine-related consumable here has to be the dog tag wall behind the counter - you know I bought the retro skull & crossbones tags.

My dog had a fun prance in the mud and he required a bath. BADLY.  I jumped on Yelp for a nearby pet store and found Osso's.  It was relatively late for a pet store to be open so I called to make sure I wasn't waiting a trip.  The owner answered and said they were closed.  She offered to stay in her shop until I arrived and produced a lovely bottle of organic, herbal doggy shampoo.

Albeit he is still wet, my doggy smells like soothing lavender and Calendula.

Sean is super helpful.  I bought the wrong size harness set and he let me exchange it without the receipt.

Another evening he spent a boatload of time trying to help me find a new collar and harness set for my dog.  Sean was so patient with my indecision.  (=

He also gives great tips on foods, etc.

This place is clean and they have all kinds of fun stuff for your pet.  Five stars for Osso!!

Great window treatments and tons of very cute dog beds, bowls, and tons of unique collars and leashes to choose from -- including designer collars from Ines de la Fressange a famous French designer (former Chanel model and now designer).

Bought some treats and a tres tres chic rhinestone studded camo collar that is perfect on my little baby!

Wow!  This place is super cool.

Besides the awesomeness that was letting us have a mobile adoption there AND coming out to pet the pups, the store is beautiful.

My first two collar wants were vetoed by Honey (A $100+  red leather collar with red stones and a $50+ pink argyle collar lined in kelly green leather)  because they weren't "sturdy"  enough.

We did buy the coolest stuff for 2 of our dogs.  Pete the 15 pound Doxie/Chi mix is now sporting a hot green  collar with little white rubber (glow in the dark!)  spikes.  Franny our pit bull got herself a pink rubber collar with circles all over.

A wide selection of cute beds, quality snacks and interesting products.

The bonus for the day was our foster doggie meeting his new dad!

I don't own a dog.  I own a sphynx.  A sphynx that was born on 6-6-06.  A sphynx named Damien.  A sphynx whom I spoil rotten with all and any devil-themed goodies I can get my hands on.

I'm stoked that this shop is only a block away!  Everyone there is super nice and helpful.  Not only did they help me dig up all devil related items (Damien now has a very cool ID tag with Lucifer on the front), they have super cute doggie sweaters, high-end kitty treats which Damien is all over, and little knitted creatures stuffed with organic kitty nip.  More importantly they possess that old fashion customer service where they actually remember their customers.  I've only been in the shop three or four times, but each return trip they've asked how Damien is doing.

A definite welcomed addition to the neighborhood!

How I didn't know about this place long ago is beyond me. I mean, I frequent the fou fou dog boutiques in SF on a weekly basis. HOW DID I SKIP THIS ONE?
Anyway, after a tip I got last week, we made it over to check out the place today. Right from the window displays, I knew this would be a place Sophie will get spoiled in. I have to say that this place is definitely dog centered. There are stuff for other pets, but the selections are quite limited. But for the pooch, it's heaven. Bins of toys, a wall dedicated to collars and leashes, another wall is covered with food bowls and dining accessories, unique beds, houses, and carriers, and loads of clothing. It has the most soccer jackets we have seen anywhere. We were told that the soccer jackets are designed for Osso & Co. and that they get them first before they are distributed to other stores. Hubby is excited to learn that the next batch will include an England one, which is due out in April. He always wanted Sophie to have an England jacket to match his.
Anyway, we ended up with a new harness/leash combo for Sophie today. And of course, a new poop bag holder to match. Though it cost almost $100, it would be about the same price getting the same items elsewhere. I checked out the clothes and the prices are also competitive.
The person who helped us was very friendly and just adored Sophie. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Needless to say, we will be back!

The doggie clothes and accessories are so cute here that I almost considered buying some just for fun. Since the store is on my block (oddly, all residential except for this store), I sometimes just stop in and browse, despite not owning a pet. And the more I browse the more I'm thinking of getting a dog, how's that for reverse shopping psychology?

cute stuff.
kinda over the top as far as prices go- the canned food i give my pup was almost $1 more a can...
and  the guy kept trying to convince me that they toys my pup was picking out were too big for her..
try telling that to her!
she can haul her squeaky frog (at least twice her size) up onto the couch in one jump.
so, yeah, not bad, but not really any reason to go back, either.

My cats, Genghis and Davina, have incredibly discerning taste. I raised them well. Only Osso and Co. will do for their kitty lifestyle needs (they only cheated once at Alessi). They are oh-so-stylish and preppy in their Brittany plaid collars. They have to represent their mum, of course. The super cute personalized tags I picked out here perfectly complement their collars. The other neighborhood cats are jealous. They will only get high off of the organic catnip Osso offers, they have developed a cat drug connoisseur's taste. Their pet beds are adorable, although I did end up going with the scandanavian based The pet project for their house. I definitely will go to Osso for my carrier needs, the cat pod is the coolest I've seen. They have feeding bowls imported from Italy as well. I swore I would never put a sweater on a dog when I am lucky enough to have one someday, but those football sweaters are too damn adorable. Osso and Co. also have gourmet treats and the ones for dogs are not only made of high quality ingredients, they are little pieces of art in themselves! Definitely the best pet store in the city! The man who has always helped me is super nice too. I will have to get his name next time I go in...
