    Osha, you're badass.

There are multiple locations around the city and every single one of them have a very trendy interior with cool, matching decor. From the chairs, to the lights, to the tables.

I've come to this Osha location multiple times, once to sit in and several times for delivery and take out.

I like their tom yum soup, yin yang seabass, jungle salad, pad see yew and angel wings. Food is good and doesn't disappoint. Portions are good for the price.

I attended a "Red Egg and Ginger" party to celebrate the birth of a new baby boy at this restaurant.  It's swankier than what I would have imagined for such an event.  The white molded butt shaped chairs made my fellow diners feel like we were in "A Clockwork Orange."  The food was good and the service was OK for such a large group.  Cha nom yen was really good.  I had 2.  On the menu were some little beef rolls which were so delicious.  There was some pretty normal feeling pad thai and coconut rice.  I really liked the appetizers a lot more than the entrees.  Service was so so.  I know we had the whole restaurant reserved, but event he placesettings were a little weird.  We had waters for 5 but we had a 4 top table.  This was OK because we found some mysterious floaties in one of the water and used the surplus water.

The location is really good though.  If you're up for a mission adventure, it's accessible by BART, really close to some good shopping (including 826 Valencia the pirate store) and some excellent housewares at Therapy.

Great atmosphere, and very attentive service.  Brought dished out at perfectly timed intervals for sharing among friends.  Some of the more reasonably priced wine I've seen in the city.  Osha wraps were delicious.  Minus one star for the lack of prawns on the papaya salad "with prawns"..add more than 4!

the hippest looking of the oshas!  i feel like it'll turn into a club after hours.  It looks a bit like temple, the club.  it tastes on par with the other oshas, but i like their decor.  unfortunately, if i'm in the mission i'm probably not going to pick osha; a friend was really craving thai.

i usually get panang curry, pineapple fried rice, or crab fried rice.  someone will inevitably order pad thai and i will steal some of that too.

dinner: I've had better it was just ok service was substandard. Brought my fish out cold (ok, so my mistake ordering anything called salmon nuggets), had to flag them down after 10 mins. My partner was done with his meal b4 I ever saw mine again. Didn't offer anything but a weak apology. Flavors were good but not awesome . Overpriced and slow service to begin with. Not worth it in my book. Did like the steam bun mushroom appetizer. Could b good for happy hour...
happy hour: I'll pass, beers were $3, okay... $5 plates, calamari (meh) satay chicken (meh) the only thing I could recommend from the hole place, oops whole place, is the veggie spring rolls. My mango margarita tasted like cough medicine, and 5 different people kept coming over to our table asking us what we wanted to order. We told them, we just order xyz, and another 5 minutes someone else is asking what we want to order. it was seriously annoying. and there was a huge fruit fly that was attacking us.  food nice presentation, fancy glasses~ does not make up for everything else--- if you must go here place it safe ordering classic thai dishes.

Had a few times to go and it was ok food but a little pricy.  So...cut to the story...my gf got me a gift certificate and we went for a late lunch/early dinner.  There were only 4 ppl total in the place and it took 45 minutes to get some noodles and tofu.  The tofu was chewy and cold.  So I told the manager that I was not pleased with the service or the food quality and she just stood there...needless to say I didn't stay to see the bill that evidently I was still paying for just gave the gift certificate and told her to keep it as I was not planning on coming back.

I took some friends out here for dinner here, not knowing of any other place to get the thai they requested in the neighborhood. I hadn't been bedazzled by the bar at one of the other Osha Thai locations but was curious to test out the food.

I liked the vibe of this Osha - it wasn't very large and felt cool. The decor was trendy and modern, while retaining an asian flavor. The food was a bit pricer than I'd hoped, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. We had a nice meal, and while it wasn't quite a hole-in-the-wall too-good-to-be-true Thai experience, it was a good one.

Whenever I drive up to the city from the South Bay, I'm pretty dedicated to whatever area I happen to park in because I never want to move my car. Yesterday, it was the Mission. My friend wanted Thai, so we went to Osha, which is a semi-chain place, so I wasn't expecting anything outrageously authentic, and I wasn't also expecting it to knock my socks off. My expectations were met.

My friend got the Pad Thai, which I sampled and liked because it was sweet. I got the green curry rice, which I thought was pretty good. I'd order it again, if I ever found myself at Osha. And honestly, I hate shelling out money for Asian food because I always feel like it should be cheap, and the prices seemed steep to me.

But the service was quick and the servers were friendly. The only real drawback is that they have these HUGE glass windows and no shutters, so all of the sunlight washes the restaurant in heat and glares that you almost feel compelled to wear sunglasses inside. And I'm not douchey enough to do that.

I'm tempted to give Osha Thai a fourth star just for being open late. Okay, yes, I will . . . . . . . . . there, did it. Staying open late on weeknights in SF is very convenient, so I think that alone was worth another star. The food was good; the prices were okay. The service was very nice. The reason I was originally contemplating giving three stars is that it was frakkin' cold in there! People were wearing puffy jackets while eating their late night dinners! They had a little space heater (the old radiator kind that emits heat about two inches away from the unit) but that was it. I'm sure when they are packed, the room temperature is fine, but if they are going to stay open late (thanks again for that, Osha), give a little up to PG&E. It's a regular business expense.

I've been to a few different Oshas and I've never been wow-ed. The servers are usually nice enough, but the food just isn't that impressive. I'm sure part of it has to do with being vegan and so limiting my options. But even still, I've been to plenty of other Thai restaurants that have more extensive vegan/vegetarian options.

The other night I went to the Mission location for the first time, really just because it was the only place open later on a weeknight. My friends got a few appetizers, and I had a veganized version of the crispy tofu salad. The food wasn't bad, it was just sorta meh. And for the price, I expect more.

Had a late (3PMish) lunch here.

Outstanding lunch special with soup, appetizer, and entree for $11. The chicken satay was excellent and the basil chicken and yellow curry were very decent. Also took advantage of the happy hour beer--$3 for Singha.

Very attentive service. The drinks were brought promptly and the meal was well paced.

Back when I was still in grad school at Berkeley, my friends and I would make the trek across the bay to come to Osha.  We loved it!  We dreamed about our next pumpkin curry and tom kha fix and Osha was our go-to for delicious Thai food in the city.  I had two birthday dinners at Osha and a graduation dinner.  Yes, I liked it that much!

I'm sad to say that the quality of the food in the past few years has gone down hill.  I've only eaten at Osha three times since I moved to the city almost 2 years ago.  Last night was one of said three times, and it confirmed what I had been suspecting for awhile now.  There is far better Thai to be had in the city.

Last night, we ordered the pumpkin curry, the sea bass clay pot and the mango salad.  I think the pumpkin curry used to taste a LOT better.  It was still good when we ordered it last night, but it was far from the amazing pumpkin curry I remember.  The mango salad was decent (it comes with shrimp and calamari - the brother loved it) and the sea bass clay pot was just ok (it was not a curry like you would imagine, but was really basic).

We ordered 2 orders of brown rice, which was too much for 3 people.  The rice orders are huge, so I would recommend 1 order for every 3 people.

In the recent past, we have ordered the spicy catfish, which is still quite good (caution: it comes with bones).  I love the eggplant in the dish, but the bf does not (hence not ordering it last night).  I used to LOVE the tom kha, but haven't had it in recent years.  I'm curious to see if this is still the same.

We finished out yesterday's dinner with an order of mangoes and sticky rice.  The rice was so sweet and delicious and the mangoes were perfectly ripe.  I would still recommend getting this!

Osha is my spot, me and my girls love this place to no end. Not only do we go here for lunches and dinners - we hit up Osha for drinks and appetizers before going out.

You can literally make a meal of appetizers, but we were only there for a snack. We went with the Ahi Tuna Tartare, I'm a sucker for sashimi and just mad about mango, so it's a little sweet, adds a smooth texture and very delicate to the palate.

With that we ordered the Lychee Martini and the I love Lychee Sparkling Cocktail with Soju. Pretty little tropical cocktails, perfect pair to our mini meal.

Amercianized Thai food. Over priced, small servings and not
    spicy/flavorful at all.

    Starters:
Mango salad was okay, warm salad with mango, squid and shrimp.
Veggie imperial rolls, can't really screw those up.

    Main course:
Green curry was okay, not memorable.
Volcano beef was tender and interesting.
Noodles were okay but damn the portion size for the price was ridiculous!
And a the side of white rice, how can you go wrong.

    Service:
Attentive at first but then the waiter disappeared while we waited for the rest of our party even though we were willing to order starters. Water service was okay and we waited a while to pay the bill and leave.

I suggest King of Thai any day and I'm pretty sure the orchids on every dish is what makes everything so expensive. I mean damn orchids on food are not needed at all.

I'm pretty sure me and my girls were the spiciest things in there in a while.

There are some things a chain just does better. Osha Thai is one of them.

Efficient service, huge portions and a classy lookin' restaurant.

I ordered the red curry with tofu. While I generally prefer my tofu crispy, I actually liked how it was prepared in this dish. Vegetarians be warned that there is fish sauce in some of the curries, however, I was informed that this Osha doesn't use it in the yellow curry.

Parking is difficult unless you want to pay $2 an hour at the mission st garage.

Thai food in my mind is typically overrated in price and flavor; Osha proved me wrong today.

It was around noon time when we decided to go grab some lunch.  There were a few tables taken, mostly empty.  I ordered the lunch combination with Thai samosa, duck, and spicy string bean sauce.

The meal came with soup, a small side of salad, and delicious hot chili sauce.  The server even asked how spicy I wanted my dish to be.

When all the food had arrived, I realized that this was no typical Thai place.  The flavor was anything but ordinary.  I was thoroughly pleased with the meal.

4/5 stars because the price of $13 for a lunch menu was on the expensive side.  Plus, the server never came by to give us or check.  Otherwise the service was great and it was an awesome experience.

The food was pretty good but I want to believe that the mediocre customer service we had was due to a culture shock.

I went to Osha on Sunday at 4pm for food. The place was almost empty.

T:00 I stepped in asking for a table for two but letting them know that my date was running late and would join me shortly.

T+10 minutes: not one of the 3 waiters chatting and sitting across room has asked me if I wanted a drink or anything while I wait.

Turns out my date is pretty late.

T+11 minutes: A random waitress crosses the room, I beg for a drink.

T+22 minutes: Another random waiter cleans the table next to me and randomly asks if I am ready to order.

T+23 minutes: My date arrives and we order quickly.

My dish arrives within a few minutes. My date has to wait another 10 minutes until her plate arrives. Pretty awkward moment, especially in a restaurant with 3 customers.

The food was good but overall disappointing customer service. Hopefully it was just a bored mid day Sunday crew.

Oh and don't even bother calling them to place an order for pickup a weekday night, they don't pickup the phone. It's too bad, their pad thai is delicious.

Meh. Not a big fan. I guess I've been too spoiled by authentic, less expensive Thai food.

Nice atmosphere though, with a cute, casual fun vibe. Tried the green curry, with a spicy level of medium... NOT SPICY at all! The pad see ew was alright, although the chicken tasted kinda overcooked.

The margaritas were pretty good, even if they were weak.

I remember my first time trying Osha was at this location and it was a crowded friday night with a nice date from years back.

The lighting is dim, the service is good, and the decor is just as nice as the one at the embarcaderro.

The only downside is that it's really loud in there and the tables of other parties are so close to yours that it's hard to have a conversation in here.

Parking isn't bad especially in this busy neighborhood, and the food is better than some of the other locations.

Had some amazing Thai food after a long time. The Grilled Australian Lamb was juicy and done to perfection. The Garlic Salmon Moroheiya was delectable. Both had the perfect touch of garlic. Not recommended for  garlic breath haters or vampires.

The best part was the green Moroheiya wheat noodles! Healthy yet they taste better than Maggi! Actually they even look a lot like Maggi.

I've been to the other locations. They're pretty much all the same. I prefer whole in the wall Thai places, so this doesn't really mark too high on my list.

    *Mango mojito was pleasant (sweet).
*Blue moon, can't really mess that up.
*Samosa appetizer was not good. Too thick on the dough. Tasted like the crust of an apple turnover (with a potato filling).
*Prawns over friend rice...ehh, I wish the prawns weren't super battered and fried.
*Duck, my friend liked it, but said the dipping sauce was way to sweet.
    *No dessert.

Love the food, the presentation and the location(s).  I really hate the service at the Mission location, however. You can just feel how much they don't give a damn.

    Or maybe it's me...

In Thailand the service is incredibly slow compared to SF and most European standards. Not a bad thing, but something to adjust to while you're there. It's pretty much like that in places with hotter and humid climates I'm finding. This is SF though, it's COLD!  Moving will help you stay warm.

Maybe it's just a cultural phenomena but I haven't been back because of the service here. I just go to the downtown locations.

I've had much better. And not just because I've been to Thailand 2x. Go to Marnee Thai if you want authentic Thai food.

PROS: Great modern decor & perfect date atmosphere. Ahi tuna appetizer w/garlic chips was delicious. Thai iced tea was one of the best I've had.

CONS: OSHA'S SPICE-OMETER NEEDS A CONVERSION CHART. I ordered my noodles "Mild," and was dished up food that was waaaaay too spicy (to the point that my food was inedible). The 3 other people I was with felt similarly (and we're talking about a crowd with a broad range of palates). Also, way overpriced.

Our go-to Thai take-out place.  Our standbys are the pumpkin curry with chicken and the volcanic beef, which comes with some really yummy onion rings.  We've ordered here so much though that we have officially ODed on Osha.  The food is solid, but 3 stars because the dishes have more recently been too sweet and skimpy on the meat.

When we are there, the staff is friendly and it's a fun, cute atmosphere.  Much smaller space than its Union St. and SOMA locations.

This review is for delivery only.

At $13 for an entree (cashew tofu) plus $3 for brown rice plus $2.50 for a thai ice tea, I expect deliciousness. This wasn't. It was decent Thai, nothing remarkable, at an inflated price.

Combine that with my newfound knowledge via another reviewer that the "vegetarian" entree was not in fact vegetarian, and I can't really recommend this place. Calling something vegetarian when it has fish sauce in it is lame.

The service at this place was almost comically inattentive.

The main thing Osha has going for it is the ambiance -- nice layout, silverware, dishes, sexy waitstaff (always a bonus.)

However, the larb was so bland we had to ask for more dressing. Tom Kha Gai? Bland and boring and PRICEY for soup! The Lemongrass Sauce with Beef had a nice flavor, but was almost totally red peppers, none of the other veggies promised.

The tables are very, very close, so if you want to have an intimate conversation, this isn't the best place.

But, it's definitely got a "fancier" feel than the other local Thai places (with prices to match), so if decent food with a fancy feel is what you're looking for, Osha will fit the bill.

    When it's on it's on.

The pumpkin curry with tofu and volcanic beef are my favorites. I will also opt for the thom ka ga when feeling soupy.

I usually get take-out because I find the ambiance to be off; the decor is kind of kitschy and, more importantly, the wiry, metallic chairs are uncomfortable.

We went through a phase in our relationship when the curry was runny and not spicy enough, but that seems to have passed and Osha is back on my rotation of take-out options.

3 stars for the historical inconsistency and relatively high prices, but the food is good.

Instead of Osha, this place should be called Osh-it This Place is DELICIOUS.

My friend and I ate here last night and ordered two Sapporos and a large cold sake to get us lubed up. The prices for booze were quite reasonable, considering all the other bars in the area charge the same amount. $4 per beer.

To eat we had the Osha Wrap and Thai Sukiyaki. Both items left us incredibly satisfied.

    Bill was $40. Pretty reasonable.

Super good food, and very fast.  They have some really interesting dishes as well. I had chicken satay, which is technically an appetizer; it was fine, nothing amazing but still good. The hubby had a spicy catfish dish that was delicious! Only downside was it had too many onions (and BIG chunks of onions at that!) and not enough fish! Next time will have to ask for more fish. :)

My soda was also warm, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of drinking soda! Haha solid 4 stars, if not 4.5, and I will definitely eat here, or at another Osha, next time I am in SF!

The service is really good though, very attentive and friendly.

Lack of parking, crowded-small tables, are reasons not to come here, but actually, those are compliments from patrons.  I drove around the neighborhood a few times, "K" and I began to consider going to another neighborhood in search of dinner, but I got lucky and found parking just a two minute walk from Osha.  I had the choice of waiting for a small rectangular table or immediately sit down at an even smaller circular one.  I chose the latter and there was some regret to it, but not enough to complain too much about the experience.

    We ordered the...
    1.  seafood sizzling special: shrimp, scallops, mussels, salmon;
    2.  pad khee mao noodle with pork (ho fun noodles, shitake, mixed veggies, choice of meat).

Both were requested with medium spiciness.  I must've hit a spicy patch in the beginning because there was indeed a kick on my first few bites, but then the spiciness disappeared.  K explained that she experienced the opposite effect.  Still, the two of us could've raised it up a spicy notch and still come out fine.  I also asked for coconut rice, but could've done without it, as it was really dry, and didn't compliment the meal well.  For two people, there was plenty left over to take home.

Ambiance was nice, trendy.  The dining room is dimly lit, and crowded.  OK place for a date or small group (num_peeps LTE 4), but it's tough to have a decent conversation in there.  We didn't order any drinks so I can't comment on that.

    Quality of food: Great.
    Ambiance: good
    Price: good

Small place, just like all the other osha thai's. Great service though - they provided an iphone charger for my friend, and even allowed her to order another drink after her first one came out too strong for her.
