Whoa yes! I can't believe that a woman is going to be the first to review this hardware store. And even more amazing is that it's me! LOL!

My husband and I have been shopping at this OSH for as long as we have been together, so I guess that means 30 years. It's a great place.

He comes here to get his man stuff. They have all kinds of great man things like cool tools and screws and nails and packages of things in shapes you have no idea what they are for or what they do, but he needs bunches of them. A knowledgeable employee is always available to assist, guide and help you.

So, I go look at the ladies stuff. They have neat containers in pretty colors and fun pet supplies and lots of Christmas stuff right now too. Grin. Terrific paint department too.

There is a nice garden center in the back of this location. They have statuary and fountains, lots of potted plants for both indoor and outdoor enjoyment. Good selection of stinky fertilizers and bug eliminators too if you need that stuff. I like to wander back here if for nothing else but the serenity of it all.

My husband usually needs to wander the plumbing department or electrical or nuts and bolts or something like that. It's probably for something I asked him to do. No really, he loves this stuff. Don't all guys love this stuff? He can get another tool or something too because usually each job requires the use of something you don't have even when you have been buying tools all of your life since you set foot from the womb. Well, I digress.

Seriously, this is a really good hardware store. They have everything for every need. It's nicely organized as well.

I like to shop here too. This place has outlasted Handyman (anyone remember them?) and Home Center and is not annoying to go to like Home Depot is with their blaring intercom. Beep, beep, beep, beep! No, none of that here.

Good customer service and long time business standing in the community make this OSH my top pick for all my hardware (of this sort) needs.

Since I commented in my review of Ace Hardware about coming to OSH to get what I was looking for, I thought I'd post a review of OSH too.

Five reasons for Five Stars:
1) Prices: I find OSH's prices are often cheaper than even Home Depot
2) Staff: I love how helpful the staff is.  They may not always know for sure where what I want is to be found, and often boggle at why I want what I'm looking for ("You want PVC piping to make a ladder for your parrot to climb on?  I have no idea how to suggest what supplies you'll need for that!"), but they're always willing to walk me to where they think the item is, and if it's not they'll hand me over to someone else who may know better.
3) They're always patient with my refusal to sign my credit card into their machine - I want to sign on paper receipts.  There's enough trouble with identity theft in this country without computers all over having my signature on file.
4) Management allows their employees to have tattoos/piercings showing without having to put band-aids over them or whatever else stupid rules other places come up with.  Hurray for allowing diversity!
5) They don't have heavy stuff piled a 1/2 mile over my head making me fear for my life should an earthquake happen while I'm in the store.

OH - bonus reason (wish I could give them a bonus star!):  They're sponsors of the Sharks.  Go Sharks! :)
