10 reviews for Orlando's Caribbean BBQ
Going to a Giant's Home Game? Then put about $10 to the side so you can stop by Orlando's Caribbean BBQ for the famous Cha Cha Bowl *tee-hee* http://www.yelp.com/bi...
LOCATION: Inside AT&T Park Stadium..home of San Francisco Giant's baseball team. Located in promenade level in Upper Center Field next to Build-A-Bear Workshop, or by the big a$$ Coca Cola Bottle & baseball glove. Outdoor patio area in this section w/ plenty of tables & chairs to sit & eat http://www.yelp.com/bi...
CHA CHA BOWL: Not ur traditional stadium food, but soo worth getting! Price is $9.75 for a bowl of grilled marinated chicken over black beans, rice, & a pineapple-zucchini-carrot salsa * YUMMY * http://www.yelp.com/bi... Portion size plentiful; definitely too much for 1 kid. If you're looking to sample more foods during the game, then 1 bowl is good enough to share btw 2 adults. FYI, served in a topperware w/ a lid...pretty useful resuable topperware folks ;-)

9TH INNING: Yep, BF & I attended Giants vs Dodgers game this past Sun 9/13/09. Great game (Final Score: G-7 & D-2) & another great Cha Cha Bowl for us *tee-hee*.
The cha cha bowls get all the hype, and they are excellent no doubt. but now they have JERK CHICKEN NACHOS.
These are so effin delicious I can't even deal . Some stupid Padres fans were lookin' at 'em ( mine) this afternoon and I just shook my head and laughed as they complained about their "hot dog value meal"
frickin tools.
Best food option in the ballpark.
The long and short of it.....CHA CHA BOWL!!!
So good...rice, beans and chicken cooked perfectly...goes great with a Red Stripe and a GIANTS win!!!
I am not a big fan. Cha Cha bowl sucks if it's not mixed. When mixed vigorously with hot sauce and bbq sauce, then its pretty good. Otherwise, I would rather eat an Italian sausage at Port of Sub on VR floor with the sauteed peppers or Shebogyan with grilled onions at the doggy diners.
Just recently went to my first Giants game, so after reading how everyone talks about their Cha Cha Bowl, I had to buy one and see what all the fuss was about. Definitely for its price at $9.75, compared to all the other food at the park, this was definitely the best bang for your buck. I ate it and was so full from all the rice, grilled chicken, and black beans (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Didn't have to worry about buying anything else for the rest of the game. Maybe next time I'll give their Jerk Chicken Nachos a whirl.
The start of a new baseball season at AT&T Park means different things to different people. Aside from the sport itself there is something I look forward to almost as much as the hometown Giants' return to action. Only during the baseball season can I enjoy a delicious Cha Cha Bowl from Orlando's.
For those Cha Cha Bowl virgins out there, what it is is a generous portion of moist medium grain rice, simmered black beans, juicy and boneless grilled jerk chicken breast chunks topped off with a cool and delectable pineapple salsa featuring zucchini and carrot strips, cooked onion and delicious pineapple (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Top it off with a bit of hot sauce if you wish. The hot rice, beans and chicken combination bonds well with the cold salsa. Delicious!
What's better now is that Cha Cha Bowls are available up on the View Level just to the right of home plate. No more hiking down to the Orlando's behind the bleachers: we've got our very own Orlando's just steps away from my seats!
Don't know about the cha cha bowls, but the chicken nachos are the best i have ever had anywhere. $9.75, well worth it.
I have a title for a new movie: There Will Be Tards.
This was my experience at Orlando's BBQ in the park last night.......this is the second Orlando's in the park on the top level.....because for some reason I think if I had stretched my legs a little farther and gone behind the bleachers maybe my movie title would have been different.
Never in my eating at sporting event career have I had such tardistic service.
The one reason I love going to AT&T is the great food choices (well that and a few other obvious reasons), specially Orlando's. The food is consistently good and I love the chicken and pork bowls - mmm. Somethig fresh and ( I am hoping )healthy in a sea of processed meats.
As I walked up I noticed the line was short (score) , what I failed to notice were the grimaces on peoples faces. Apparently there was only a cashier and a food prep girl working the operation ( which at the time did not seem like a problem)
The cashier was beyond slow and in order to get the orders right she had to talk to the food prep girl every three or so orders, point to us standing around and tell her what we wanted...bizarre. If you wanted an alcoholic beverage the cashier walked to the booth next door, waited for the bartender to get it for her and then bring it over....bizarre. Then there was food prep girl....um, speedy service was not her forte. Guess she never worked at Togo's where they give you the old timed sandwich making test, cause she would have bombed. It was so slow I told the grumpy people next to me I could hop behind the counter and do it quicker - I swear you should see me get my cook on.
So, after what seemed like, and was, a three inning wait - I had in my little paws a pork adobado bowl, white rice, pork tenderloin, sauce and mango salsa - it was tasty and the pork was perfect.......minus a few stars for the tardy service........if you thuoght that was bad wait until you see my review for the bartender guy at the other booth - it already has a title: No Booze for Thirsty Kitties.
Best Ballpark meal in the country has to be the Cha Cha Bowl. I can't wait to have one on opening day at AT & T park. Great sauces to put on the Cha Cha Bowl. It is the best. Love The Cha Cha.
As for ballpark fare goes, this is the ultimate. Inspired by hall of famer Orlando Cepeda, Orlando's BBQ is right behind the bleachers by the coke bottle. Grab a Cha-Cha bowl, its blackened chicken, rice, beans, and a yummy pineapple salsa on top...top it off with the hot sauce of your choice and youre set for the game! Its so yummy and if youre looking for something beyond the hot dog, or in addition to your hot dog...and garlic fries...and peanuts.... :), check it out!
