My friend and I loved coming to OBW... But after this past Tuesday... We won't be coming again!!! If we didn't get food poisoning was because we only ate one wing each... The smell of the wings was like it had been left out of the fridge the whole night!!! It smelled and tasted really bad!!! Needles to say we won't come back here again... :(

The worst part about all this is i was so excited to go for the unlimited wing deal that i couldnt eat my food fast enough to get the hell out of there. The young Asian man who works there needs to be fired ASAP
He had his ghetto friends coming in and out the whole time swearing and yelling, his friend was actually spitting loogies out the window from the inside. i counted 5 that i didnt even have to see but hear being shot out from his mouth. Walking in and out to smoke cigs in front of the place sure seems like the thing to do, the friend walked inside and screamed about how there was a fight across the street with some other people they knew and there was a group of guys with baseball bats walking down elco
Obvously the food wasnt that great to even remember or to deal with the service again to ever find out -

The wings had no taste whatsoever. I was watching the cook and it looked like he would just go to the back to grab a bowl of wings and just throw it in the fryer. Not really worth the money.

This place ain't that bad. It's not the best, but it's not the worst. If you're hungry, Original Buffalo Wings is a decent spot to grab a bite. Located on El Camino right across from the Salvation Army, you could easily pass by and miss this place.
I got the 6 piece teriyaki wings, and a bacon mushroom burger. My friend got the cheesesteak . The wings were alright. They were pretty small. The teriyaki sauce they used was okay. Although I thought it was a bit salty. The burger was also okay. Nothing to write home about. Same goes with the cheesesteak.
Overall this place isn't as bad as some of these reviews make it out to be. Maybe it was under a different ownership at the time. I definitely might come back some time because they have all you can eat wings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which is not too shabby. -

Still a good buy for your money... 26 wings for $15, not bad, and definitely beats the Wingstop price. But Wingstop has more sauce variety and they are crunchy. This place totally drenches their wings in buffalo sauce so they are somewhat soggy when you get home. The taste of the wings deserve 4 stars, the sogginess gave it 1 less star. Come here all-day Wednesday and it's all you can eat wings for $13.85 (with a side and drink with free refills).

The wings are a little on the smallish side, but they've got some of the best flavor I've found in the Bay Area. It's the only place I go for Buffalo wings on the Peninsula.

I use to come to this place all the time and I use to love it. Now it sucks! The wings are small and the burgers are nasty! I remember the teryaki chicken burger being more juicy with more teryaki sauce, not spicy, and having the pineapple in the middle. It tasted soooooo good! not anymore! The wings were a little bigger too but the flavors are amazing. Wingstop is the new spot to be at. I was so sad over my last buger here :(

Review from Jetta R.
Burlingame, CA
If this really is the home of the "original" buffalo wings, then I've got to say, we've come a long long way, because this place is f-cking terrible.
* The wings had about as much meat on them as a Morningstar Chicken Nugget. They were small enough to swallow hole and had no discernible flavor aside from the sensation of burning, kind of like a dollar store brand "hot cinnamon" candy or a teaspoon of mace.
* After eating the "home made potato chips" I know exactly how my mom felt all those mornings I made her my "waffle surprise" for breakfast. I guess payback's a...soggy potato.
* Messing up an order is understandable on a busy. But when you've only got two people in the entire joint...who came in together and ordered THE SAME THING...then it's the opposite of that.
* They serve hot wings and then charge for soda refills. That's just shady. Like "American Healthcare" shady.
* And that soda? There's no carbonation. It doesn't. Even. Bubble. -

Oh, how I love me some buffalo wings :)
I have to say that every time I have wings at any joint, I'm usually pretty satisfied. But MAN, this little spot in San Bruno rocks my buffalo world! So GOOD, so CHEAP!!!! It is a greasy little dive, but it is a GEM. When I used to live in the neighborhood, I swear I had to refrain from coming here daily! Other Yelpers have mentioned their homemade chips... I don't care too much for that. I mean, it's good, but this place is all about the wings, fo sho.
I miss you, Original Buffalo Wings.Listed in: I Left My Heart in San…

While I originally yelped about a complaint with a 'to go' order that leaked onto my car seat and floor, and the problems I encountered with trying to speak with the management to address that issue, the management has gone so far to repress that original yelp I posted.
So instead of addressing that issue lets stick to the quality of product.
I previously might have given a reasonable review to this establishment, if it stuck in my mind to want to promote this location. I personally was hesitant to bring people here as it is a dark hole in the wall that looks more ghetto than shops in San Pablo (lived there.) Make note that most people who come here with me do not want to eat in the store, choosing to go orders instead. What brought me here regularly was my friend who is from Brooklyn jonesing for wings, and since Wingstop is not here yet (Daly City,) and Hooters (at Tanforan) was then only in SF, this WAS the place to go.
The food if it were not deep fried in hot oil, I would be hesitant to eat it, and as such that the only thing I order is the wings. Additionally I regularly made large orders for my friend for her parties (I live nearer to the store than she does.) It is noted other yelpers also say they worry for the cleanliness, and I agree it really looks bad in there; not like the SF location on Lombard (yes I go/went there too.)
Whatever you do, treat to go orders like they are going to be a problem; protect your car. Management is not congenial in handling complaints, being evasive, and then becoming inflammatory and abusive. My complaint was compared to the Wendy's scam, I was called evil (really I was called evil), told this is stupid, and ridiculous. Am I to be convivial after that? A person would think a business would not want to excite a consumer into a state where they would negatively yelp them.
****Good news! They now are not the only game in town, lately competition is here and that is good for the consumer.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CLICK ON THE "TREND" TAB where the ratings distribution box is. You'll see the trend in the last six months rates them down to one star, and for that many people to go out of their way to complain is unusual, What is a person to think of that? -

Good spicy buffalo wings that will burn a smile onto your face. I didn't really like the sauce for the bbq wings though.
Looks like they have all you can eat wings and a side of your choice for about $11 on Tuesday and Wednesdays. Woo hoo, I can feel a hole burning in my tummy.
The place is like a small greasy diner. Nice place to hit up for some take out for a snack, party, Superbowl, etc... yada yada.Listed in: The Bucket List

Buffalo wings on a diet. Hugh Hefner's harem has got more meat on their bones than the chicken wings here. It is my only complaint for a place that specializes in providing these little nuggets of goodness. If I were opening a buafflo wing company I would want to serve some hefty size wings. This falls a little short in that category. Although the sauce did indeed satisfy, the amount of chicken on the wing left me disappointed.
The potato chips are made fresh and stole the show. For 10 bucks after tax I got 13 (small) wings, an order of freshly made potato chips, a coke and veggies with ranch. Not a bad deal considering what you get. But I would take less of each if you'd put the chicken on steroids and focus on the wings. -

Onion rings are decent.
I think this place really got new owners. Anybody PLEASE HEED THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS of recent. There are probably NEW owners who knows NOTHING about cooking.
It's really HARD to F up this kind of food, but the Original Buffalo Wings manages to do it.

I'm so full I can't even think or see straight. I went here for a late lunch today and then had an early dinner at Old Port Lobster Shack in RWC. Way too much food in one day. Anyway, I think these are some of the best wings around town. They're fried first, which gives the wings a crispy exterior, and then drizzled, not soaked, with spicy, mouth-watering sauce. Don't worry, though, you over-zealous sauce-lovers, these wings are still fully covered. Definitely get some fresh homemade fries or potato chips to go with your wings; they're heavenly, so it may help justify the fact that you'll be a few pounds heavier when you walk out the door.
Pluses: 1) Free Delivery with minimum orders based on location, 2) open late-ish till 10pm, and 3) reasonable combo specials like the one I had (9 wings w/ chips or fries and a soda for $7.25).
Con: A bit of a hole-in-the-wall, greasy-feeling atmosphere...so take it to go instead! But then your food gets cold...ah, decisions, decisions. -

My boyfriend and I came here last night to eat with a few of his friends. We all had the all you can eat wings. Mmm..tasty. I had the spicy which wasn't very spicy at all, but still good & my boyfriend had the bbq, which was pretty good & a little sweet. Oh and their homemade chips were delicious. We killed those quick.
Oh man, we all left super full & felt like we all would have had a food coma if we all just sat there.
The service is here is pretty good too. The ladies are all so nice. They gave us more wings even though we couldn't really eat anymore. -

I'm sure if I went back a few more times I'd rate this place a 5 star, that and if only I wasn't such a Cluck U's and Wing Stop enthusiast it wouldn't be so biased.
The place is small and I'm sure they'd make more business if they expanded but that's another story. I love the workers there, they're so kind and friendly, even helped recommend when I looked like I was lost.
The night I went there, I was accompanied with 4 other friends. We all came in for their endless wings and my was it fulfilling. It's ENDLESS. I tried the spicy sauce and it was delicious, the next batch I ordered was BBQ and I thought the sauce would be spread all over but instead it was just fried chicken with the sauce poured on top-- a little disappointing but that didn't hinder it's yummy taste. As for the side order, I got their famous potato chips and those were the best I've had. It wasn't overly oily and it was like the crispy chips you'd think. They were a little soft but that's how I like it.
I believe I spent $11-13 but I ate SO MUCH because the deal was endless. It's a good buy, well worth it and I plan on coming again. -

Remember those rumors that KFC put steroids in their chicken to make their chickens bigger?? Well thank God for steroids and KFC!! The wings at Original Buffalo Wings were pretty small. Me and my buddies got 50 wings, fries, chips, and medium drinks for about $12 dollar each.
When one eats hot, spicy wings they usually want a cup or two of coke. But in this case, they probably want one. That is because OBW charges a ludicrous 75 cents for refills. Luckily their wings are not spicy at all.
Im not a fan of too much sauce, but for those of you who are die hards who drinks their sauces like soup, this place is not for you. Instead of drenched, there are plenty of wings that were left un-sauced. And as variety goes, theres only 5: Original, BBQ, Teriyaki & Honey Mustard (my personal favorite). I heard WingStop had like a million types.
As far as wings go, this place is expensive and seems like they try their best to pinch every penny out of you while being extremely cheap themselves. Their sodas were flat, didnt give us celery sticks until I asked & as I mentioned before, 75 cent on refills after you spend 10 plus dollars on their food. Lame.
I might go back for their all you can eat on Mondays for $14 dollars and I might give them one more star. -

Was looking for a new place to try... I was tempted to go to Kobe Sake, but they were closed... Fish n Chips... Perfect! Not too heavy, not too light..
It's a nice place and definitely someplace you might want to hang out casually with a friend(s) late. Too bad they aren't open till midnight on weekdays and 2am Fri/Sat nights. I TOTALLY see this place busy at night...
I ordered plain fish n' chips. It was very fresh and very good. I think I paid $7.50 w/tax and thought it was a pretty good deal. Tasty and filling. Didn't take too long and THEY DELIVER!!!
Why they didn't get 5 stars? Parking sucks. If your order is less than $10, you have to pay cash or pay an extra .75 cents for the credit card fee. Which is crap since I know credit card feels are like .25 cents.. If that. The food all comes in later paper bags which I think is a major mistake. Should come in little, semi-deep paper bowl/plates. Considering how long this list is, I think a 1-star deduction is quite nice.
I'll definitely come back here... Especially with friend(s). -

Come on in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays...it's all you can eat wings! The OG Buffalo fries their naked wings to a crisp and drizzles them jewels with your choice of sauce: Original Buffalo, Spicy Buffalo, Teriyaki, and BBQ. A simple dish that they do very well.
I remember the owner revealing to us a special brand potato that they use for their restaurants. Whatever potato it was, makes their English-style chips and standard french fries quite addicting. Most thick cut french fries are bland and taste like "just from a potato." OG Buffalo fries are more tasy even without the ketchup or salt. It's probably fried in some special fat. I can't explain--I just love 'em.
Today's lesson: Don't go for anything else here 'cept Chicken and Fries (or chips or both). -

I expected such good things from this place, fellow yelpers :(
Maybe it was an off night.
Jetta R. and I ordered the same thing, and one order got botched. Jetta insisted I take the first order, despite my protests. This put me in the awkward position of "be a gentleman, wait until the lady gets her food before you start eating," and "if you wait too long they'll get cold and awful!"
The "chips" were soggy and had the consistency of lucky charms marshmallows, without the delicious nostalgia.
The hot wing sauce tasted suspiciously like Frank's Red Hot, which is good, but, you know, I could manage that in my kitchen. With chicken wings with more than 2-3 bites of meat on them.
No soda refills? These are supposed to be HOT WINGS. Also, no napkins - I had to beg some from the gal making the food, because the front counter girl was outside with her friends.
I'm sorry OBW, you're simply too far for a second try. -

My friends have been all raving about Wingstop - why? I'm not quite sure. I'd prefer Original Buffalo Wings in San Bruno anytime other than Wingstop. Their buffalo wings are classic, original, and delectable - they taste like buffalo wings! Along with the wings, you must munch on their fresh chips, which are crispy and fatty good =).
Original Buffalo Wings is another hole in the wall with tacky and old furnishing. Their menu is large - I wonder if their customers order anything other than the wings. They should just focus on their wings and chips - be productive and it could help build their clientele. Also, too many signs - on the building. Because of management's lack of judgment, I had to knock them down a few stars - womp-womp! -

It's seriously a hole in a wall with sticky tables and sticky floors. It didn't look open when we looked in, but it was. The whole time we were there, only two customers came in to order stuff for lunch.
My husband ordered fish and chips and got fish that was fried too long and his chips were hot potato chips. The woman tried to explain to us what the chips were and it sounded like thick fried potatoes. We were in shock when the chips came. They were thick chips. Gross and oily.
I had an OK burger. I think it was called the Buffalo Burger, but it wasn't buffalo. It was beef.
That aside, I would have given the place one more star if the fish and chips didn't look so inedible. The outside wasn't golden brown, but looked like the color of an old-fashioned buttermilk doughnut. I think they used recycled oil; otherwise, why would fish look that way?Listed in: Places I Don't Want To Go To…

Just got done eating delivery from this place.
The wings are small but they do the job.
We were craving wings and having a lazy rainy Sunday so delivery was the best option.
The Extra Spicy was spicy enough for me ... i have to drink a glass of milk with my meal.
I'd rather have Hooters but for the convenience factor the place gets 4 stars.
1 - Close Proximity to our place
2 - Delivery
3 - Array of fatty non-healthy food to choose from LOL
4 - The food had flavor and the wings were crisp -

I been here before and i had the buffalo wings which was too dry so i tried something else this time, i order the philly cheese steak, homemade chips and breaded mushrooms, The philly cheese steak was too salty and the bun that came with it got all soggy from the salty meat juice, this is by far the worst philly cheese steak i ever had, The breaded mushroom was horrible also, the breaded mushrooms were cooked first so it got all cold by the time i got it and it was soggy, all of the mushroom breading fell apart. The best breaded mushroom are from the Lombard location in SF. I'm never going back to the el camino one again

First time here last night. Boy did it hit the spot after some treacherous mtb'ing.
bacon cheeseburger - yummeh
homemade fries and chips - good
fried fish - yummeh
wings - yummeh (enjoyed the buffalo sauce more than the terriyaki)
They're known for their homemade chips. If you're into chips, you'll love it. Would definitely come back for a late night snack or a wing tray for a party. The buffalo sauce was really really good. Service was great too, the ladies there were so sweet to us. -

being a sucker for GOOD Buffalo Wings, on my birthday week we tried OBW on El Camino again. mind you, this place has let us down so much that i was only allowed to order from them because of my birthday. my husband HATES this place, and thus my review...
we ordered 13 piece wings & the OBW Burger, large fries & jalapeno poppers. they told us, "50 minutes". i thanked them and after it had been an hour, i called. the person on the phone said "you live in the Avenues?" i replied no. then they said, "so sorry, delivery man is lost. running behind. he'll be there soon." i said okay.
30 minutes later (so this was 90 minutes since i placed the order) a delivery guy showed up at our door. he gave us our bags and we tipped him $3. he left immediately on a motorcycle.
i opened up the bags, and everything was cold. not warm, but COLD. worse, since the delivery man rode a motorcycle, everything was SMASHED. he must've put all the orders/bags together with a bungie cord and thus it was smashed!
my husband was so mad we phoned immediately and asked for the manager, "he's not here today." we told the person who answered the phone what happened and all they said was "sorry." didn't offer us anything in compensation or apology. we asked when the manager would be in and called the next day and told him what happened. he too didn't offer any comment but sorry.
my husband wants me to put this specifically in this review: IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE FOOD COLD, THAT YOU HAVE TO REHEAT ON YOUR OWN STOVE OVER A HALF HOUR LATE...ORDER FROM HERE. OTHERWISE, FORGET THIS HOLE.
we threw out all our menus. ever since they changed management, they are horrible. small chicken pieces, cold, smashed, late...it doesn't get any worse.1 Previous Review: Show all »

good for a quick bite. The place itself is a total hole in the wall, but if you want to go pig on some wings on a Tues or Wed, this is pretty good. I just get the bucket of 50, go home, get my own drink and rock out that way for a couple extra bucks. Plus, you can keep what you don't eat.
The sides are OK. I like the coleslaw, the fries are not that great, the chips are hit and miss, the potato salad is just alright.
Like others said, this place used to be better. not sure what changed. -

4-star wings (though it was more drumsticks than wings)
4-star burger
3-star Philly cheesesteak (the fiance got very confused by the bell peppers)
3-star fried shrimp (too much bread for me)
No comment on the restaurant itself because we got delivery... The delivery guy was really nice and apologetic - he got lost for about fifteen minutes! -

I have not been here since my boyfriend moved from San Bruno. This used to be one of our favorites. Their wings differs from any other wings in a good way. They taste more homemade than other wings I've eaten. Their sauce is to die for. Their chips are also really good. From what I remember they are thinly sliced deep fried potato, like potato chips. Fried oysters are also really good.
I highly recommend to call ahead b/c their chicken wings sometimes can take a while since they make it from scratch. Also there's only 2 people working there. One in front and one in bak. -

I ordered a 50 wing split bucket with extra spicy and teriyaki.
The extra spicy was not very spicy but the flavor is excellent. You can taste the butter, vinegar, and hot sauce all mixed together. The teriyaki is good as well. I wish the wings were a little bigger and meatier.
The fries were really good as well even though I had mine delivered.
Go for the combos, they are a good deal. -

OMG you call that a PHILLY CHEESESTEAK? ARE THEY #@$% CRAZY?
If you are looking to satisfy a craving for PCS please ignore the huge sign on the outside with the words PHILLY CHEESESTEAK!
What I ordered was a PCS... slices of steak grilled with some cheese.
What I got was chopped beef Teriyaki with little cheese between 2 buns.
Teriyaki? Seriously Teriyaki sauce?
Who the hell puts Teriyaki sauce on a PCS? It was salty, the beef was chopped up (not sliced) and the farthest thing from a PCS I've ever tasted.
If they renamed it a Teriyaki Cheesesteak I would give it 2 stars.
Stop calling a Philly Cheeseseak... Pat & Geno would call this EPIC FAIL! -

For some reason, I'm the only one in the family who isnt an avid fan of these wings.
Why? well the wings are SO TINY and barely have meat on them... such a ripoff. Their sauce is spicy, yeah, but I also taste a bit too much of tartness. If you like spicy and somewhat sour buffalo wings, i think you'll like this.
The only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of their chips AND their fish. the fried fish is good, Fish and Chips, you know. the downside is its kind of oily. But what can you expect from fish and chips, right? i think this place is a-ok. their side of potatoes and coleslaw isnt that bad either. -

Original Buffalo Wings? yeah..and I'm Michael Jackson.
I would give no stars if that was an option.
Food:
1) I don't care how many buffalo wings you give me when they are dry and there are flies in you watered down ranch dressing. Quality over Quantity.
2) BBQ Ribs - $10.95 buys you 2 ribs, this maybe is worth the one star..wait no..it's not..Customer Service should be number 1, but when I sent it back, they lady said "we weigh it..and that's how much we give.." and I thought you guys need to go back and learn how to open a restaurant, if you give me an extra rib..instead of argue with me, you might save yourself a customer..so a more experienced lady in the back said she'd give us more, and odd because the extra rib was seasoned differently and way too salty..
3) We waited a lifetime for our food, they had family friends or whatever they were come in after us and they were served, ate, and finished before we got our first dish..
4) There are hand written signs EVERYWHERE that say "no sharing"..we get it..it only makes the restaurant look more run down and dirty by having all these hand written signs threatening their customers..I don't know about you, but I like to eat without feeling that if my mom dips her wing in my ranch sauce the buffalo wing police are going to hop out from under the counter..
5) RIDICULOUSLY overpriced! for 1 order of ribs, 1 salad, 1 order of 13 wings, 1 all you can eat order for one person the bill was $85..for this junk? Never again..
Sticky tables, dirty floors, flies everywhere. This place is the epitome of Dirty and if my younger brother didn't insist to try it for his birthday because all his friends were going, my mom and I would've never been caught dead in this place, but family wishes do come first. -

heavy on the seasoning and hefty on the sauces...equals?...saucy..messy...fingerlicking flavorful goodness....
philly steak...prepare yourself with fork and/or spoon....50% of the sandwich tends to fall apart....arm yourself with plentiful napkins....carefully cover lap and chest.....it's a meaty sandwich....almost stir-fried in with onions...bellpeppers and cheese.....heavy on the peppers......a slight soysauce based seasoning......it's grubbin' good......they just need to work on the construction of the sandwich...or atleast wrapping the sandwich instead of placing it in a small paper tray....
i'll have to make a another visit to try the buffalo wings...original buffalo wings offers battered fish and chips....variety of chicken sandwiches....various burgers, wings and steak sandwiches....simple easy to read menu above the counter.....it's dive joint...but worth a lunch visit..Listed in: peninsula eats
