4 reviews for Oriental Wok
Tiny Spicy Chicken is on my Final Meal Buffet.
Don't die until you try it.
After reading all the reviews, I was excited to try this place. It's hard to find good asian in Alexandria or anywhere for that matter. The food was pretty good, but definitely not my favorite. The spicy chicken was ok. A little too fried for my taste. The sushi was also ok. Overall the atmosphere was decent and for lack of chinese restaurants in Alexandria, I gave this 3 stars. Anywhere else I would give this restaurant 2.
This is absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in town! I've been eating at The Wok for almost 2 decades now. Pre-vegetarian, I loved the Tiny Spicy Chicken. I hear it's still fantastic. Now I enjoy the Vegetable Delight (with Tiny Sauce on the side) and the Broccoli and Tofu (again, with Tiny Sauce on the side).
The building got a huge face lift a couple of years ago. It's beautiful inside - the sushi bar is a nice touch. The new booths are huge! You could easily fit 3-4 people on each side. The Wok is my 6-year-old daughter's #1 choice of places to eat out. I highly recommend it!
Edited on 12-29-07, 2 stars removed: I still think this is the best Chinese restaurant in Alexandria. BUT - lately, I've been disappointed. The food hasn't been quite so yummy over the last couple of months. My tofu is firm one week and mushy the next. My dad picked up an order of food for my husband, daughter & I. The order was completely wrong. When he returned to the restaurant to exchange the incorrect food for the right order, he decided to ask for a small container of plain rice (since it had been left out of his order). They wouldn't give it to him without charging him - even though he'd just come in with a totally messed up order AND without any rice supplied with his order. That's terrible customer service!
O-Wok, as I call it, is a local favorite in Alexandria. The food is the best Chinese in town, but it is also the only Chinese food worth eating in town. The Tiny Spicy chicken is the local favorite on the menu. Lunch is undoubtedly the best deal and best time to go. Dinner is more expensive for just about the same amount of food. Clearly the best place in Alexandria for a quick and filling oriental lunch.
