They have a creamy tart yogurt that satisfies my yogurt craving. It's clean, conveniently located to the freeway and major streets, nicely decorated and have one of my favorite fruit toppings that i've never seen anywhere else (pomegranate seeds)!!!!
Pro's:
- Great price (30 cents/oz)
- Pomegranate seeds!
- Clean and cute
Con's:
- there were a handful of fruit flies/gnats flying around
I'll come here again, especially if they keep pomegranate seeds. A bonus would be if they had blueberries.
I think this small yogurt shop is cute, tasty and overall yummy! It's a small place with a few tables to sit and eat in, modern design, clean and well cared for. It's not super inviting to stay but comfortable to eat and enjoy your treat.
With plenty of different dispensers I chose strawberry and cookies and cream. It was well balanced, tasty, smooth and I ate every bite. The toppings bar is well assorted with fruits, candies, nuts and sauces to put over your yogurt.
The staff was friendly, efficient and quick.
Overall perfect for a tasty treat!
Eh, has a weird taste to it... I don't know but it tastes kind of soapy? Or it has a smell to it. Not tart-y enough. I'd rather go down the road a bit more for Yogurtland, which is also the same price.
3 stars for having green apple jelly, though.
AND THE WAFFLE BOWLS!
I just came here last week and I was not the least bit impressed by this yogurt store . The yogurt was not good ... it was so bad that I did not even finish it !! I just took a few spoonfuls and threw the rest of it away because I got so tired of it . Their mochi topping is not good btw ... tastes weird compared to the other yogurt stores I've been to .
Tasty fro yo for less $$ than most of the other places we've been going, nice decor, tidy and fresh, toppings looked fresh (nothing grossed me out faster than old lookin' toppings or buffets) & had a great variety.
Not as delicious to die for as say, Fraiche in Palo Alto , but much cheaper, and easier to find parking!
Fast service from an efficient, if somewhat morose teenager.
They don't accept the 10% membership cards anymore! There's a new $1 for every $10 program that's replaced it.
Still the BEST ICY TART FRUIT YOGURT in the bay area though. I'll still keep showing up... every week. :)
Same prices = $0.30/oz

The Lychee is one of the most popular, Mango/Strawberry coming in second. Orange Tree has better… Read more »
OK... just okay froyo
Ridiculously hot in the South Bay
Alleviate the heat
Needed some froyo
Got a FREE $3 coupon :)
Enjoyed staring at the pretty tile mosaics on the wall
Strawberry and pineapple are pretty decent flavors here. I didn't really like the original plan tart, blueberry, or taro. I think I'm still biased towards Yogurtland for some strange reason. =P
This place is kinda small and when it's packed there's nowhere to sit! :(
We went to Orange Tree to try it out because we heard that they have non-dairy based frozen yogurt. Something different! My lactose-intolerant friend and I were intrigued.
Let me sum up my experience in three ways:
1. I think this is the first time I've ever NOT finished a cup of frozen yogurt.
2. "So can we assume it's healthier because there's no flavor?" - my friend
3. After a few spoonfuls, we decided to go to Yogurtland.
I went down the line and tried every flavor, and honestly if you did a blind taste test you wouldn't be able to pick out one flavor over another.
The consistency of the yogurt is, well to be ironic, pretty inconsistent. Some flavors were really drippy and others too solid. The original tart flavor had the consistency and taste of bland whipped cream, which is really odd for froyo on both counts.
And just FYI only one flavor is non-dairy, and it's basically like sorbet. Disappointed.
To end on some good notes:
+ If I had to choose one flavor, I'd go with the lychee because it had the most distinct taste.
+ No credit card minimum. One up on Yogurtland.
+ Apparently there are discount cards, for those of you who would go back.
+ It's the first place I've seen that has jelly toppings (like lychee and mango jelly that you usually get at boba places). Props.
Compare to Pinkberry, Yogurtland, and Red Mango, this is the overall best place.
Why?
The yogurt is almost (but not quite) as good as Pinkberry/Red Mango, with options and prices better than Yogurtland. The toppings are fresh and I noticed they spice it up a bit with Mango and Green Tea MOCHI!
You can be satisfied with a great big cup for less or around $5. Not to mention - the decor and shop is squeaky clean!
Much better than $8 at Pinkberry/Red Mango (they rip your wallets out!)
Do you LOVE the whole yogurt TREND going on? You know, self-serve, unlimited toppings, weigh by the ounce? How about deliciously fruity flavors like: blueberry, lychee, mango, peach, and more? And, how about yummy toppings like: mixed jelly, green tea mochi, or white yogurt chips? If so, then this is definitely the place for you.
At just $.0.30 per ounce, you can make your hellish afternoon into a delight. I've never seen so many fruity flavor options at the same time! And mango and green teac mochi--yummers!
I came across this place randomly by getting off the wrong exit, but what a delight!
If I think about all my yogurt cravings within the year or so...Orange Tree ranks up there as being the best!!! The consistency of their fro-yo is smooth with just the right amount of icyness...and the tart yo's are to die for! Especially when this weekend miserably HOT!
Being that I'm 5 minutes to 6 different fro-yo places...I've frequented most of them more than once. I love the fact that Orange Tree isn't as busy as Yogurtland, that you don't have to drive a slinky car to manuever the parking garage as you do Tartini's, deal with the Asian mahjong players who give you stink eye at DIY, guess if they're open or not open @ Honeyberry's, or navigate an empty stripmall called Vallco...for the other "TWO" not so known fro-yo places! Orange-Tree is accessible and pleasant...once you get past the Starbucks Hogwart's smoke crew you'll be refreshed by tangy tart cup of Orange Tree froyo. ;o)
I had the pineapple, taro, and lychee...I LOVED them all!!!! With toppings of strawberry, mango, jelly, and colored mochi I felt like I was sitting on a cloud of pure YUMMILICIOUSNESS with every heaping spoonful..hehe! This place has the freshest toppings out of all of them! I used to be a fan of Yogurtland but it looks like I may have a new beau worth flirting with on the side... ;o)
Staff super nice and friendly, parking a cinch...and being a hop and skip away....priceless. ;o)
Loved the lychee yogurt! Mixed it with a little tart yogurt and topped it with fresh mango. Such a distinctive taste, in a good way. Now, for a chocoholic at heart, this was a huge departure. Yum, yum, yummy! Great selection of toppings, some really interesting that I would like to try in the future.
30 cents/oz. For four of us, with toppings, I paid just over $8 total.
I'll be back...
Can't beat the price and quality here.
All the fruit was very fresh - the guy behind the counter is ALWAYS cleaning up the bins, the counter, keeping the shop looking good.
I love Pinkberry but for 1/2 the price and all the same quality I would much rather give my business to Orange Tree.
Enjoy.
My spontaneous visit to Orange Tree Yogurt just made my night tonight!
As i was sitting and studying at Coffee Society not too far from the yogurt shop, I noticed several middle-aged women eating something out of a cute designed, what it looked like to be, yogurt cup. I told my friend right away..
I said "Look!!! WHAT'S THAT?!?! it looks like froyo! Which shop is around here? that's not red mango.."
she said "Tartini is nearby?"
I said "Noo that's not their cup decor!"
I looked around to see what could possibly be in the "The Oaks" plaza, and saw another girl walking pass the windows of coffee society with the froyo cup in her hand...
I said " It's coming from over there!!!"
After finishing up some more studying, we walked over towards that direction around 10:30pm. I was determined to see what froyo place this was..and Voila! Orange Tree Frozen Yogurt. This was the cutest place i've seen. The decor from the walls to their stools.. Very futuristic feel to it. Not as plain as Tartini's even though I like their decor also. They have directions on how to pour the frozen yogurt and suggestions for toppings signs! ( Cute idea ) HEY! It is also
30 cents an ounce! just like yogurtland!
I looked around seeing what I wanted to try out.. I remember they had
Vanilla, Chocolate, Lychee, Mango, Pineapple, Original, Taro.
I noticed the difference in dispensers compared to other places.. It is cleaner and comes out smoother.
I got the Original, Mango, and Pineapple.( it is a mix of tartness and creaminess.. I actually like it! Not too icy like what Tartini can be like )
and what do you know?! the owner was there, named Tao, I believe ( since I met him ) and he said "Your Froyo cup on the house!"
I wasn't sure if he was serious because I normally feel bad getting free stuff from anyone... So i kept asking are you sure?? And also, they gave me a VIP membership card discount.
Kathy D. was a grumpy girl studying at Coffee Society.. it is midnight now and Kathy D. is now a happy girl because of her froyo treat :) !! Froyo can do wonders!!
saw big "grand opening sign". only in the left hand corner can you see "orante tree". what are they afraid of? inside the froyo shop, there is 'orange tree's name all over the place.. pretty small shop.
froyo availability:
-vanilla
-chocolate

-strawberry
-lychee
-tart
-pineapple
-cookies & cream

-blueberry: bland
pricing: self serve, 30 cents froyo & toppings. 14 dry toppings with mochi. 10 fruit toppings with lychee and 4 kinds of jellies.

-slight aftertaste
-froyo mostly icy, bland flavoring, melted fast.
-stoething machines with large sprouts poured froyo really fast

-cupertino has so many choices, orange tree least appetizing.
I am so happy and thankful for that new orange tree store!
It is a miniature, bright store. The size of the store helps them keep it sparkling clean. Even though it is so tiny, when the frozen yogurt hungry crowd is standing in line, the line moves very fast.
Their service is extremely friendly, their toppings are fresh, and the yogurt is yummy.
What a wonderful addition to my life!
Great price at 30 cents an ounce except not any tart except plain. The flavors are: blueberry, taro, green tea, mango, lychee, peach and plain tart. I got the plain with mango but mango was a bit sweet so I had to mix my tart in. Tons of fruit toppings and dry, place was very clean and service was quick. You can use your credit card no problem. If you don't need to have tart go ENJOY!!
FOOD:
1.) Plain tart = It was good...
2.) Pineapple froyo = mm Good also
3.) Toppings = Strawberries and pineapples were sweet and fresh
*They didn't have green tea
*Only froyo place I've seen that had waffle cone!!!
SERVICE:
Self serve, and someone at the cashier rings you up. Our cashier was super friendly.
ATMOSPHERE:
I absolutely love what their designer has done! It's not super bright and colorful like other froyo places. They actually have seating annd it's clean enough to enjoy sitting there! Also great graphic design, whoever made their posters and identity.
I just love the pretty decorations and mosaic tiles above the machines. So pretty! I can't stop staring at everything. Everything is clean and the chairs were cool too. The place is small, but it's not like it gets thaaat crowded all the time. There are plenty of places to sit outside.
This was the first place I've ever went to a self-serve frozen yogurt store and I must say, it was quite a lovely experience. the service was nice. Compared to other yogurt stores, I feel the consistency is pretty nice. Not too many flavors, but that's okay. The toppings were pretty good too. I especially loved the color mochi. Maybe I'm just remembering how happy of an atmosphere I was in to judge the stuff more strictly, lol. But I really looked the place, and for 30 cents/ounce, it can't be that bad.
I think this is by far the nicest looking yogurt design in the bay area. The layout is interesting and the chairs and tables here are aweesomee!
The yogurt here is good and they have around 8 flavors?
They have all the standard toppings, but they don't have my favorite! chessecake bits =[
The employee there was fairly nice and gave me this orangetree credit card? apparently, if you "flash" the card to the cashier, they give you 10% off. It isn't much, but it's something!
The prices here are pretty cheap, 30 cents per oz.
Overall, okay, but I want my cheesecake bits from yogurtland!
Two words: WAFFLE CONE
you have the option to get a cup with a pre-made one, and it doesn't even cost extra. it's just part of the very affordable 30 cents per oz.
toppings are good, yogurt is good, although they could use more flavors, such as coffee flavor. any kind of ice cream/yogurt/gelato store needs to have coffee flavor.
Comment from my sister: they have good music.
So okay, wow. I think this place must have just opened by the looks of how clean everything was. You know how everything is always super messy at these places cuz you have spoons everywhere? This place was remarkably clean and I liked it.
I'd go here again - I was visiting my buddy who is a real estate agent in the same plaza. Good place to hang out if you don't want to go to a Starbucks.
This place is a self serve yogurt place. I tried a bit of each flavor: blueberry, strawberry, Lichee, Green apple, and attempted to get the mango another reviewer raved about but it was mush.
I don't know about the prices but I had a coupon so the cup I got was around 16.4 ounces and it cost me $2.10. So that's pretty good actually but then again it may have been the coupon. The toppings are good and had variety.
The atmosphere is cramped and the place is small. So don't plan to stay long and hang out the place is a go in get your yogurt eat it real quick and move on kinda place. You can only seat 4 to a table but the chairs are movable but then again the tables are small.
So i would say it's a good place but nothing great.
A fro-yo place opens up in place of Coldstone. Ah, how the times are a-changing.
Anyway, it's 30 cents an ounce, which i believe is almost the cheapest in Cupertino, tying with yogurtland. I'm all for cheap yogurt, but I tried the plain and it had no flavor except for notes of PARMESAN CHEESE.
Cheesy yogurt? Not okay.
I gave it one star because it has a nice decor, half a star for prices, and half a star for good toppings.
First review!
This place just recently opened. I had a break from class so me & a friend decided to get some froyoo. Mmm. I've been to orange tree in Milpitas, and was excited to find one opened in Cupertino, satisfy my froyo crave when I'm at class! The location is fairly good, a good amount of parking, restaurants, pearl tea, jamba juice nearby. So this place will attract for sure.
The best thing about froyo joints, always free samples! Mmm. I thougy tthe decor of the store was absolutely cuteeee. But none the less, small and tiny and cramped. I don't think this place could fit more than 25/30.
Anyways, the frozen yogurt. Tart, yummy. I thought it melted a lot easier than most places. They have COLORED MOCHI toppings here! But not that great, I dont like their mochi, its not soft chewy ): Orange tree always has a good variety of flavors, a lot of tartness (:
Anyways, A-OK. It's right next to school so why not? And let's not forget only what 35cents/an ounce?!
I've been overly critical of froyo places lately because my biggest complaint is that they are all carbon copies of each other. But this place surprised me a lot (in good ways).
First, the consistency and flavor of their yogurt is much better than a lot of other self-serve places. For one, it keeps its shape longer and doesn't melt 1min out of the machine. I only had the plain tart and the mango. The plain tart wasn't as tart as I typically like it, but it has it's own refreshingly unique cream cheese-base taste to it. But let me start by saying, Oh. My. Goonie. The mango is delicious! It's 10x better than the mango froyo I've had anywhere else. It will change your life.
Also, they have a good variety of fresh fruits and other toppings. One surprise I noticed were lady fingers in the toppings section. I love lady fingers! And I loved trying them with my yogurt. Plus for new, interesting toppings!
This could possibly be my new favorite froyo place in the south bay! Go go go!
[Pros]
+ cheaper than other froyo places at 30 cents/oz
+ yogurt has good consistency and isn't overly liquid-y
+ all your typical toppings and some unique ones!
[Cons]
- inside feels a little cramped
[Recommendations]
* TRY the mango yogurt
OK, where do I start. This place is not as good as yogurt twist. But despite that, the yogurt was waay on the sweet side, not my liking. One star for the decor, aand... thats about it... so if your looking for an okay treat try orange tree. I might come back, only because its so close to my aunt's house.
I love the decorations and setup at this shop. They made it look fun with the cool chairs and fun themes. Not to mention the 4star yogurt is really cheap (prob 1/2 the price of Red Mango) and there are a lot of flavors. I got peach, original tart, taro (my favorite!), and pinapple (pretty good), with mochi and mangos and it was a big cup for $2.50! Great deal. Great yogurt. If you're in this area, do stop by here!
i'm hooked on these FROYO.
so, here's my first adventure out of my comfort zone.
- location:
* orange tree opened up in the place where "coldstone" used to be.
* the interior is very modern and cute.
- product:
* the flavor of the day were chocolate, mango, pineapple
- chocolate: jst like any chocolate froyo
- mango: hmmm... it didnt feel like mango
- pineapple: it was bitter! or sour... what's the correct term here.
* they are indeed like FROZEN YOGURT. it feels more like yogurt
than what i'm used too.
* they serve waffle bowl for those who like waffle!!
- misc:
* they have water w/ lemon available on the counter for those
who need to hydrate.
Not bad this place is cheaper by the ounce than some of the other yogurt places around here, .30c. Well the lady behind the counter was super friendly. I sampled the chocolate and taro. What I go in the end was Taro and Original Tart with some rainbow mochies. It cost me $2.33 for my cup. That made me super happy. They also have two cup sizes for you to choose from, that rocks so you don't overfill.
first of all, i think that their plain tart yogurt is not as tart as pinkberry. some people like lot of tart, some like a little tart, and some don't like tart at all!
for me, orange tree sits in the moderate tart range with some creaminess. and no iciness! excellent. the tart is definitely there, but it doesn't give you a "wow, thats tart!" feeling.
the good about having a less tart flavor is that you can really taste the toppings.
i had half plain tart and half chocoloate with peanut butter chip toppings. the chocolate wasn't too rich (this is good). the plain tart allowed me to taste both peanut butter flavor and plain tart yogurt at the same time.
also, the staff is nice. i think i met the owners. they're very nice too :)
i'll always be a die hard pinkberry fan, but orange tree definitely gets a nod and a smile for great effort.
i like how orange tree finds a niche where although it offers plain tart similar to pinkberry, its just kind of a different variation of its own. a little more independent than those knockoffs.
I love this place! The yogurt was incredible, not too sweet or tart, and with a smooth consistency. There were about ten flavors. I particularly liked the pineapple (it tasted just like pina colada!). Also, the decor was very nice, everything was clean, and the atmosphere is very nice as well--peaceful, but not quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. What I also liked was that they gave complimentary water to annyone who wanted it. Overall, the best yogurt place I've visited.
