Orange Tree Antiques Mall
1 review for Orange Tree Antiques Mall
I'm not going to lie, I am always enticed to enter a store if I see that Orlando Weekly has given it an award. So when I saw the large sign stating, "Best Antique Shop in 2007," chosen by a reader's poll, I knew it was worthy of checking out.
If you enter the store with a purse or a bag you have to lock it up in one of their lockers that sit by the door. This helps them guard against breakage. And to placate you for the possible inconvenience, they brew fresh coffee throughout the day and have vanilla cookies sitting out. But I'm sure that you won't miss your purse while you're in there since there are so many neat and interesting things to look at. This is not the type of store you run in and out of. You could easily spend an hour in there and not get to everything.
My favorite items were the pieces of antique jewelry, tea cups, doilies, ceramic vases, collector Barbies, and candlestick holders. I also really enjoyed the old school parking meter they had that costs only $69.50. They also had a wedding dress and a painting of the Last Supper for only $65.00. And right before I decided to finally leave I noticed boxes of old post cards separated by the state and country it came from. There must have been thousands of post cards some of which were actually written on. A cool thing to see since people don't tend to send post cards that much; a fun look back in time.
After leaving I could completely see why other Orlando residents chose this as their favorite because it's now mine too.
