We host an event here every year, and Shannon, our event coordinator, is awesome! She is really on top of handling our concerns, and she coordinates with the rest of the staff on site to make sure the event goes off without a hitch!

I would recommend the fairgrounds for anyone looking for a venue for a trade show, tournament, or any other event bringing together hundreds of people in a single location.

Plus, there are vendors here that sell kettle corn that smells like maple-covered fried dough. About the only way it could be better is if they actually sold maple-syrup covered fried dough....

Entrance fee is 10$ but there was a promotional coupon on the website for 2$ cover fee...anywho take the free parking and shuttle to avoid the 5$ parking fee!

So I'm reviewing the OC Fairgrounds.  This is a great facility.  Aside from the OC Fair that happens every year in July, this place has the OC Marketplace every Saturday and Sunday when the Fair isn't going on.  It's like an outdoor swap meet with nice stuff.  There isn't a lot of junk that you find at flea markets and such.  http://www.ocmarketpla...

One of the other good things is the parking.  During the Fair it can get crazy, but the good things is that if you are able to park in the main lot, you can walk into the Fair.  You don't have to be shuttled in.  The fairgrounds parking lot have played host to Cirque du Soleil and they ran a drive in not too long ago.  I'm not sure if they are still doing that.

We were supposed to go to the Guitar Show only to find out it would cost $15/per person. WHYYY?? So my family of four ended up at the Fairgrounds for the "swap meet"/marketplace.  It costs $2 per adult and the kids are free. We wandered aimlessly looking at all the goods -- clothes, cheap toys, furniture, a beer pager...etc. Thankfully it was a nice sunny day,  so walking around was pleasant, even if I had no intention of buying anything.  It's a mall alternative I suppose -- but unless you had a mission to buy socks for cheap or something, it can get old pretty quick. Oh and the food stalls were not cheap. (Soda from some Mexican cantina for $3???!!)  Lucky for us it was National Popcorn Day so we got free popcorn. Small mercies.

I haven't been to the Fair in July so I'll have to check back again.

We love the oc fairgrounds!  Especially the weekend swap meet and summer fair.  The car shows are a blast too.  We loved the Goodguys event.
