overall the place didn't do it for me, though their mustard sauce is container licking good!
i'd rather go to Out of the Blue Cafe
i forget which artist i ate, but it had prosciutto, salami, spinach -- the meat was a little dry
if you like a modern, bright orange but austere atmosphere inside sprinked with some bored staff, well then...

Orange Cafe is awesome.  Not only is the locale sweet, the set-up is super-cute, and the food is delicious.  I love the concept of naming all the menu items after famous artists.  I didn't get it at first, until I learned that the full name of this place is "Orange Cafe + Art," and then it all made sense.  The service is pretty efficient, and everything is made-to-order, and comes out relatively fast.  I went with a large group of co-workers, and everyone got their food in a reasonable amount of time.

All of the sandwiches and salads sounded delicious, but I opted for the Degas which has turkey and brie - and it was fab!  The mustard sauce that comes on the side is delish.  I was practically licking the container at the end.

All the sandwiches are very reasonably priced ($7-8) and come with a bag of chips (plain ole Ruffles).  The salads looked super-large, and were around the same price, when you add meat to them (~$8).

There's a bunch of outdoor dining tables available - but with summer setting in already, I'd bet there's going to be a run on the handful of tables upstairs around lunchtime.  So get there early to ensure a place to sit!

i have no idea why i haven't reviewed orange cafe... i completely thought i had.  wow.  either i never saved it, or i'm losing my mind.  maybe both.  anyways...

orange cafe is awesome.  the place is super cute.  double-story, all glass.  modern decor.   located right across from the madonna building and right next to grass.  so the location is key if you're searching for somewhere to eat in the design district.

their sandwiches are stellar!  their names say it all... super artistic sandwiches.  i like the frida kahlo.... mmmmmm.  any of them are good, just depends what ingredients you like.

but really, it's the baguette and the little side of their homemade sauce that really make them for me.  and another plus... they're not stingy with the glass of wine!  ;)

imo... skip secret sandwich and pasha's for lunch and head to orange.   only downside... you're gonna pay for that artistic sandwich.  hell, art ain't cheap!

orange is a little cafe in the design district that has a nice atmosphere for lunch. i really like the selections of soups here (tomato , cream of spinach , italian wedding dress) and the salads are very good. the sandwiches are good , but you can't beat the amount of food you get with the salads. this becomes even more apparent when you add chicken to them. i go for the soups and stay for the salads. last but not least there is free wireless so you can get some work done or update your facebook status after you eat.

A solid place to get some good lunch in the the sometimes vacant, dead Design District.  I am a slave to their Diego Rivera sandwich and their peach iced tea.
