We met Jonathan and Del at one of the local Vizsla meet ups not knowing that they ran O'Paws at the time. Watching the dogs play and complaining about how being new in SF we weren't having any luck finding a good place to board our two dogs as many boarding places just don't know how to deal with a overly energetic dogs. We found out that Del and Jonathan offered boarding services at their house (not a kennel).
We immediately brought our dogs (3yr old Vizsla and 2.5 yr old Weimaraner) for a test run with their pack. Since then we started off with their boarding services and have now been doing full time day care for about a year. I can't imagine life without O'Paws or Jonathan, Dell and their staff.
Why they are the best (in my opinion):
1. Their facilities are amazing (clean and tranquil)
2. They are selective about what new dogs they bring in to the pack to ensure that there are no problems.
3. Our dogs love going there (they sit by the door at 7am waiting to head to daycare) and they are exhausted when they get home
4. They take care to clean them up if they get dirty or smelly at the park/beach
5. On overnights the dogs stay out and all sleep together on couches
6. They are flexible on dropoff and pickup times when you are running late
7. They have worked with our anxious Weimaraner daily and we have seen a tremendous improvement in his life
I can't say enough good things about this place. If anyone has questions feel free to ping me about them. I would recommend them to anyone with a dog who is highly energetic. -

Simply The Best. I can't imagine our life without O'Paws.
These guys have an incredible knowledge of the breed and know how to handle a pack. They care about each of the dogs individually and they are always open to chatting about any questions or concerns.
The building where they keep the dogs is gold standard - it's like the dogs have a nicer place to hang and sleep than most humans.
Kona, our Vizsla, is a wild one (called Koo, Koo for short). She has more energy than any dog I've ever met, but she's also really sensitive and needs constant training enforcement. With the help and support of the O'Paws team, I believe Kona's life in the city is better than that of a country dog. And I have to say, it's really nice to pick Kona up after a long day of work to find her completely exhausted. ;-)

O'Paws has been the best experience we've ever had with Doggie day care and overnight stays. Dolly - our high energy GSP - comes back every afternoon exhausted and wakes up every morning demanding to go straight back to Jonathon at O'Paws and by the way, we spoil her rotten.
They have been very helpful and gone well beyond the call of duty on numerous occasions. I couldn't recommend a place more highly than O'Paws. -

O'Paws is absolutely the best place to take your furry four-legged baby. Jonathan and Del are friendly, knowledgeable, and caring about all the dogs in the pack. Things I love about them:
- their beautiful and informative website
- their prompt e-mail and phone replies
- their good advice and eagerness to help
- pick-up and drop-off service
- great location and gorgeous space
- they will update you with pictures, e-mails, phone calls if you want
- no drama, no judgment (I'm serious, I really appreciate this)
- they go out of their way to help you in whatever way they can
- they have a "pay it forward" attitude (they often go around dog parks and clean up poop that other owners left!)
- their easy billing and payment (credit card!) system
- the meticulous care they give to all their clients
We couldn't be happier with them and highly recommend them to anyone who wants a great sitting experience for their dog. -

This is a Vizsla sanctuary. Ok, they have other dogs there too, but every time I walk in, that's what I feel like I'm entering.
My almost 1-year-old Vizsla likes going here. The second we turn down Boardman St, he starts getting all excited just like when we're going to the park. One downside is this is not the best bargain you will find around town for dog-care services, although given how much outdoor exercise the dogs are getting it is a different experience than other places; they also offer half-days.The dogs go out on multiple runs to parks around the area, and come back to not a smelly concrete dog room but an actual house with an outdoor patio area. It's bright, it's homey, and to be honest, every time I drop my dog off I kind of just want to stick around and watch the dogs play! -

My puppy is one of the new additions to their pack, he has been going to OPaws for the last 5 months. Jonathan, Del and their wonderful staff really 'spoil' him, in a good way. Every time before I pull my car in front of their door, the puppy's tail would be wagging already.
Other than all the great things have been 'yelped' by other owners which i totally agree, I love the way Jonathan consistently giving me updates. "I have puppy's food (or pills) to the end of the week", "puppy is low on energy today", "puppy ran and played a lot today" etc. Just a few words made me feel, not only they care about my dog and really want him doing good, but also feel like I can 'see' my dog thru a web camera or something.
I love the peace of the mind that they give me, while I'm working, my puppy is having great time any day of the week with some wonderful dog-loving people, instead of either anxiously walking about the house, or sleep in a cage, waiting for me to pick him up.
Would highly recommend OPaws to any of my friends. -

My dog has been going to OPAWS for 5 years and for an anxious dog she is totally at home there, and has her own special chair that she occupies while sunbathing and holding court. They take amazing care of her, especially during longer B&B stays.

I miss O'Paws. Greta no longer goes everyday because she gets to stay home with me and 3 kids. Occasionally I feel that she needs to be pampered so she gets a trip to Johathan and Del's. When we go on vacation, Greta goes on vacation (at O'Paws). Even though she's neurotic and has an incontinence problem, they are great with her and have no problems giving her her pills when we're out of town. I trust these guys more than my friends, no offense to my friends.

My dog loves this place, I love this place. I have absolute and complete trust in them -- they've managed to corral my stubborn, willful, middle-aged Germ. Shep mix into semi-submission. Not only that, but she is actually PLAYING with other dogs -- she is usually the random wanderer at the edge of the dog park.
She comes home completely exhausted, and mostly wants to just eat and sleep. Occasionally she'll grace us with her presence and fall asleep under the dinner table, but as they say, a tired dog is a happy dog.
They email me with little notes, updates, and concerns that you would only notice if you are paying REALLY close attention to the dogs, like little updates when her derriere seems more itchy than usual, etc. etc.
My dog is a complete wimp, but if she thinks she can get away with something (ie, extra treats, wandering away, eating chicken bones off the sidewalk), she WILL. Unfortunately for her little schemes, Jonathan, Del and Romeo are totally on top of it! -

My dog was bitten on Saturday 9/3/10 at 7:45 am at Esprit Park in the Dogpatch area by one of their Vizslas. When I confronted Jonathan the owner, he refused to take ownership and responsibilty for the incident. My dog was rushed to the vet and I incurred a bill of $600 for the incident. Next step, court. Will keep you posted on the outcome.

O'Paws offers incredible services. For me, they take care of my dog daily and while I am out of town. He gets multiple walks during the day, lots of attention, and some structured down time. He is also spoiled rotten by them. I know that he thinks of their place as his beautiful, clean and comfortable home away from home. Jonathan and Del are also incredibly reliable. I never worry about what is going on with my dog while I am away from him when he is under their care. I recommend O'Paws very highly.

If you are in the market for pet sitting services look no further! I have been doing business with O'Paws for several years and they don't come any better. Jonathan & Del do business with the highest of standards and always deliver exceptional service to their clients - two legged and four legged! It is not easy leaving your pet but when you have to there is no one I would trust more.
