2419 1/2 J Streetthis store rocks! although they dont have a large selection, they have so much quality (not to mention adorable) stuff. I found a shiny silver clutch and earings among their odds and ends. the only downside is they are expensive :[

Well.
I saw the reviews of Opaline's ages ago and I've been avoiding the place since then. I have serious addictions to vintage clothing and I had a feeling this place, so close to my house, would become a problem for me. But today we began the search for Paul's suit for the wedding so I braved my need to purchase all things cute and early 60s and added it to the list of places to look.
While they don't have much men's clothing, and we didn't find a suit, Joni gave us a great lead for Paul, they had a great selection of women's clothing, and I ended up leaving a two-dress bride; adding a cute, tea length vintage wedding dress to my already purchased new/used Craig's List one. Crap.

++Super neat dresses and skirts
++Purses galore
++Don't forget the vintage slips
++And cute litte 50's f**k me pumps too!
--Tiny bit pricey
--Not so much in the man department
--70's and 80's are VINTAGE? Jeez, I'm old.
Super cute shop, just like an old-timey boutique. The owner was very nice and seemed knowlegable about the clothing.

A hidden gem for the cutest vintage clothes for women! Right next door to to Sole Shoes, you might miss it from the street. But if you do stumble through its pink door, you may walk out with some great purses, dresses, jewelry, scarves, or shoes!
The owner, Joni, is so welcoming and friendly. She knows her stuff and will help you find the right fit and look that you're going for. There's no pressure if you just want to browse, and feel free to walk all the way to the back rooms for more finds.
The prices are so reasonable. If you compare them to shopping on the internet for vintage, you'll realize that most items are a steal! As with other used clothing stores, you have to keep coming back to check for new inventory. There's always something I need to buy when I go there! Just make sure you bring cash. Credit cards are not accepted.

i'm not so sure where to start...
hands down my favorite treasure chest in town!
i had a vision of a peachy/pink 50's/60's inspired wedding dress. after weeks of endless let down's i felt lead to give opaline's, a place i've patronized in the past, a whirl. then and there was the end of my pursuit. i walked in and was greeted by joni ( a mere resemblence in vintage interests to olivia, olipom owner). i spoke of what i was looking for and to my complete approval, there it was. unbelievable how smack dab on the nose she got it. joni told me to try it on and she would let me know if it looked good. i won her approval on the condition that i took great care of it and didn't alter it's shape too much (although a lil adjustment was made to the bust line due to my ever fluctuating, nursing baby chest). she basically told me straight up, " i won't sell it to you if if doesn't suit you"...ha! this is so fantastic. not only was my dress $80.00 measly dollars but the owner takes such pride and delicacy with her beautiful, mint items. this my friend is passion and you cannot put a price on it.
anywho, i decided a few months back to make a quick stop and pick up maybe a top and some jewels for the weekend to come. i forgot that this place is open very seldom hours. so, if ya wana shop check out days and times before ya go and tell em ericka sent ya? eek! it's hard letting the cat outta the bag. as much as i'd love to keep this palce to myself i need to share the joy.
