what an incredible lil' gem ooma is. and what a great way to start off my new year...

i just wanted to come in and browse, but i'm a sucka for beautiful clothes and super-friendly (and genuine) service. i took my time browsing around and, while pricey, the clothes and accessories are quite unique. i found myself going through each rack, item by item (usually i'll just eye a color or pattern i like and grab it).

diana was friendly and greeted me when i came in, but let me do my own thing. later, we had a nice conversation during the ring-up.

i walked off with some nice finds, including a gorgeous red redesigned dress. i loved a lot of stuff in this store, so i'm pacing myself for many more visits!

Aside from the fact that the name of this store makes me think of this pop culture tidbit (http://www.youtube.com...), Ooma is actually a very pleasant little boutique. The clothes are gorgeous and hip, and also very expensive, and the jewelry selection basically makes me re-think my monthly budget. The store carries a nice balance of merchandise, too... not too many shoes to overwhelm the clothing, not too many purses to overwhelm the jewelry. You get the idea.

My only qualm is with the people who work there. They're generally nice, but they always seem to be distracted by something. That might be because they're always alone, which I imagine can get boring, but still. Once upon an Ooma visit, the saleswoman stayed on the phone the entire time. Somehow, I was the one who felt rude for intruding on her conversation, and that doesn't seem right. But I'm willing to forgive if they keep stocking such tempting items on their shelves.

OOOOH - OOMA. I love you. I lurve you. I am enthralled with delight that you exist. Thank you for being nearby. Please be my retail BFF. Yes, you're a little pricey, but no doubt you are worth it. And so am I.

You are the physical expression of every subconscious party dress I ever wished for come true. Every kindest color, every curve cuddling cut, you somehow manage to be PERFECT for me. I know in my heart you are secretly designing and buying for me and me alone and those other shoppers are actually feminine accessories, much like the gorgeous jewelery you carry. You lured me in years ago with that devastatingly dazzling pink window display and I have been your not-so-secret admirer ever since.

If there is a party dress to be had, I know where I'm going to get it. And it WILL be objectified with my affection, always. Frock on!

Kate is so nice to visit, I could go into the shop just to see her!  Fortunately, there's also fabulous interesting clothes to try and buy.  :-)
I really appreciate that Kate is interested in style and the whole package - which means she gives styling tips for wearing the clothes and putting together a great outfit.  Definitely a step above the other boutiques in the area!
If your friends from out of town are looking for some real SF shopping and souvenirs, take them to Grant Street.  Yeah, nothing here with "San Francisco" embroidered over the boob, but it's got San Francisco written all over it. (Figuratively, eh.)

I am  sad to report that I was in Ooma last night and Kate has sold the store about 2 weeks ago.  The new owner is very nice and promises to keep the store very similar, but it really is an end of an era.  Congrats to Kate  because I was told that she sold Ooma to have a baby.
    ____________

Objects of my affection.....what a great name for a store.  Kate is so sweet and she has great taste.  Not all things in this store are always my taste, but there is usually something that I love, love, love when I visit.   This is a great store for the "little things" --the great things that make an outfit.

My girl's birthday is just around the corner and i was starting to stress about what to get her. I checked yelp of course and found plenty of stylish girly boutiques to visit .  I made my 1st and only stop at Ooma.

As I walked through the door Kate's friendly smile and great selection of jewelry and fun clothes let me know that i was in the right place.

I cant wait to see my baby in the adorable dress i picked for her... i think she is really going to love it!

You know how, when you're walking around in North Beach, there are so many amazing shops, eateries, and hang-out spots that you feel like the luckiest person in the world to have a million different ways to reach utter satisfaction within your line of sight?

That's exactly what it's like when you walk into Ooma.  There's not a single wasted piece of merchandise in that store; everything seems chosen for its utter specialness, unique charm, and ability to make you happy in an instant.  It's a mecca for smart & sexy fashion, jewelry, and home goods - a secret weapon for SF locals, and the kind of place you take your hip out-of-town friends to when you're trying to convince them to move to the bay area ;)

I've been shopping at Ooma since ownership has changed hands to Jessica & Glenda.  The ethos of the store hasn't changed, but it's definitely humming with fresh, clean energy.

Absolutely adore this shop! This boutique has everything I love: one of a kind clothes and beautiful dresses, affordable accessories, friendly service.

It is a bit on the pricey side, but you do get something that you won't find at your run-of-the-mill mall shop. Although it is small, everything here has been given a lot of thought.

I wanted to get this gold silk dress that was created locally. I have no idea where I would wear said dress, but does that matter? Unfortunately I did not have a spare $238 so I could at least look fashionable while grocery shopping.

Since I have not won the lottery yet, all I purchased on this visit was a very funky ring. I should have taken a photo! Made out of metal (it's adjustable) the ring is a neon magenta rose with lots of crystals in the center.

Seriously though, when (not "if") I come into my windfall, I will be doing some major shopping here. And since I will have such a cool wardrobe, I'll have to go out to dinner more, drink more cocktails, go to the theatre more.....do you see where this is going?

So I live on Grant and I have a little shopping ritual that I usually observe.  I start at Grant and Columbus and work my way back up the street towards my house.  But I've got to say that I've broken this habit and I'll tell you why...

I always find exactly what I'm looking for at Ooma.  It's pretty much a waste of time for me to look at the other shops anymore.  Now I just go here and I'm done.  I highly recommend this adorable boutique!

OooooMa!  This boutique absolutely rocks!  I walked by one night and decided to hit it up the following Saturday.

The selection is modern city girl.  It's  fun, gorgeous & reasonably priced fashion.

If i didnt work in another boutique I would spend a lot more here.

The best part is the owner, Katie.  She loves fashion and having fun with it.  It shows.

So loving my Susana Monaco dress.  So was he...;-)

I've been in the store and have enjoyed the ambience, but whenever i look at the actual clothes, nothing really entices me.  I know my roommates like the store - but it's one of those places, to me, that seems like it caters to people with a . . .different style. (trying not to be rude)

I would like to add that I have been in there many times and go through the racks, try things on. . .just nothing calls my name.

    To each their own.

It is impossible to write about this store without using the the phrase "cute" or any other similar superlatives: charming, darling, girlish, etc. The store itself looks like the ultimate walk in closet as imagined by Lucky or Domino: tastefully arranged with a great selection and a harmonious color story.

I've only bought a few items at this boutique, but they always elicit a ton of compliments, especially a certain Nanette Lepore skirt. My friends love to buy jewelry here, especially since the pieces are distinctive and unique and not the type of stuff you find on a thousand other ladies.

I don't know if I could wear everything here; my own personal style tends to be a little more austere, but almost everything here is a "hero" piece, something you wear to stand out and be noticed, to brighten and perk up your sensible Club Monaco-ish wardrobe.

My fiance shopped at Ooma for me this christmas when he wanted to get me handbag and got annoyed seeing the same things over and over at Macys and Neimans. He went to Ooma since we've always commented on the cute window displays. He got me this totally unique purse with an interchangable belt that I've never seen anywhere else. I get compliments on it all the time. He said the owner listened to what he was looking for and picked out the perfect thing with my personality in mind.
Check out her other amazing items!

Another cute store and great find!

Small but full of goodies.  Great accessories, purses and dresses - wish there were more shoes though.  Sales items are in the very back where the dressing rooms are located.

Staff is always friendly and pleasant.  Still keeping my promise of not buying anything until I move but I did get my sis a b-day present here - a necklace she tried and liked but won't buy.

I just saw that Yelpers get 15% off BUT they are having this Easter special - pick an egg from the front and you may get anywhere from 15-30% off of the purchase.

summary: cute shop, awesome clothes, (I wore the things I bought twice the week I bought them, I love them so much) and really friendly salesgirls :-)

I love this place. The clothes are a bit out of the price range I am usually willing to pay but are so cute and such good quality that I don't feel the least bit guilty about my purchases...no I dare say that I am proud of them.

The girls who work there are super sweet and friendly but not too pushy. I usually get turned off by over attentive sales people and these girls are the perfect mix of helpful and friendly yet not overbearing.  The girl working picked up a dress and said it was the last one she bought and she thought it looked like something I would wear. She invited me to open the jewelery cases and try things on. totally welcoming w/o being pushy.

I am a fashion design student and love that this store carries local designers. Most of the stuff in the store are one-offs...one size run, as told to me by a salesgirl. I talked about how I have my own designs and was invited to bring in a linesheet sometime. Amazing!!

I feel bad for writing a bad review but I found nothing that I liked here . Their clothes don't interest me in any way & they are kind of pricey . Maybe it's because it's not my style but I'll give them an extra star for having unique clothing & a cute store name .

pretty, pretty, pretty girly fun and i love every second of it.  the jewelry is exceptional and not over priced.  i cannot go in too often for fear of spending every dime i've ever made on  girly goodies.  i would end up penniless...living in a cardboard box on the corner of taylor and eddy.  on the flip side, i would be the best dressed homeless person you've ever seen.

    hmm...something to consider.

If I were a piece of clothing, I'd  be a sexy frock, and if I were lucky, I would hang in my favorite North Beach boutique, Ooma.  Why Ooma, you ask?  Because I'd be surrounded by other wonderful frocks, I'd listen to hot samba beats all day, and I would be graced with the wonderful energy of the store owner, Kate.  What more could a frock ask for?

Ooma has a limited but funky selection of heels, flats and sandals.  I wear a size 5 or 5.5, which is not easy to find in boutiques, but I've bought 2 pairs of shoes here and plan to go back for another after payday.  The prices on shoes are really great (especially considering that some of the clothes are expensive): I bought a pair of ethnic-looking jeweled sandals for $40, a pair of black Maryjane ballet flats for $30 (50% off sale), and plan to buy a pair of cute heels for $120.

You will be greeted with a warm smile and and genuine welcome from the curly-haired Kate.  If it's classy, hip fashion you're looking for, y ou've found the right spot!  She has some beautiful pieces in her inventory that will clad you well for a night on the town, or a day in the office.  My personal favorite was a brown crocheted dress with a nude slip underneath.  It has long-sleeves and looks nice, but warrants a double-take...Is she wearing clothes under that?  Oh, and it's backless.  Sexy-classy.

I think i need to stay away from this shop or i will spiral down to poverty. I love this shop. Love it so much that i spend more than i should on earrings, a cute yellow skirt and charlotte-isque(i just made up this word) top. This store is unique, and the stuff has individuality. Kate, the owner is such a sweetheart too. She thinks i should wear the sexy top i just bought while looking for apartments (although i think it will only work if the roommate(s) are guys). For once, i am semi-glad i do not reside in north beach.

I love this place! I am a personal trainer, so I LIVE in workout clothes. The other weekend I had to go to a work function for my husband and I had absolutely nothing to wear. I had to borrow a shirt from one of my cleints! Eeek! Then I started packing for our very late honeymoon to Italy! Yahoo. Actually, it was horrible. My closet was so depressing. Then I came along Ooma on Yelp! Thank goodness! I am not trendy and was a bit afraid to go walk in the awesomely cute store. Thankfully I did, and who was there to greet me with a sparkling smile? Kate, the owner! She was planning her own wedding and getting ready for her honeymoon too! She took one look at me and knew what I'd like. I bought a gorgeous dress and some cute tops that I can't wait to sport in Italy! Kate is incredibly sweet and her store is totally...I will use one of Kate's words, YUMMY! :o)
Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

It's actually bad news for me because I saw oh, 50 things I wanted right off the bat...tops, bottoms, dresses, bags, clutches, bracelets, necklaces, rings, underwear. The list goes on and on. I was (kinda) good and left with just one top and a pair of Honeydews. I'll definitely be back - Just wish the prices were a little better.
