Great neighborhood place! I can always count on consistency with their food.

I like to order the Lo Mein or the Pad Thai. I'm also a fan of the Mongolian Chicken and Egg Drop Soup.

The other day the delivery boy accidentally brought diet coke instead of regular like we ordered. He came all the way back just to deliver two cokes. The delivery service is excellent!!

Grubhub order made at 730p. Quoted delivery time: 815pm. Actual delivery time: 910. Food cold. Soup is lukewarm. YOU'RE DEAD TO ME OODLES OF NOODLES

Follow up review: After waiting 45 minutes after our quoted delivery time, we call Oodles to find out what the hold up is. She didn't see our order in the restaurant, so she called the delivery man to see what the hold up was. She eventually called back to say the delivery man was nearby and we'd have our food within 5 minutes. She was right.

    Here's our rundown:

    - Pineapple Fried Rice. Decent... expect canned pineapple chunks.
    - Egg Drop soup... the saltiest egg drop soup I have ever consumed, I do not recommend consuming if you have the slightest trace of chapped lips.
    - Orange Chicken. It was pretty ambiguous and could have been sweet and sour chicken for all I know... the sauce was clear and was at the bottom of the container.
    - Bao... described on the menu as egg noodles. I took a chance that it was wrong. It was. It was BBQ meat. I'm not sure what it was... but the ratio of meat to bun was off. There was about an inch of steamed bun to a thin layer of meat within.
    - Can of coke - room temperature, fortunately free with $20 order.

All ordered items were lukewarm, however I don't think it would have tasted better if it had arrived hot.

The spring rolls aren't too shabby and their Thai Spicy Chicken wasn't that spicy but still delicious.

Now, the food did kind of leave me feeling uneasy but in their defense, I was hung over. My waiter's english was pretty rough and I had to ask for refills more than once yet it was only myself and one other customer in the place at lunch.

I would say that I have definitely had better in my hometown but I'll give them some credit for being a local Chicago asian restaurant.

It's late, you're hungry, you want something fast, cheap but yummy.... That's why this has 4 stars. Perfect for those take-out nights. Chicken fried rice is the bomb. It hits the spot and cures your Chinese food craving.

I have to write an update about delivery. Don't do it. We ordered through foodler and it said that it would be here by 635pm. Keep in mind this place is literally 2 or 3 blocks from my apartment. We waited well over an hour for our food to arrive. Finally I called and they said "oh it will be 2-5 minutes" I'm guessing they forgot about our food and hopped in the car right then and there. Also, on our receipt it said "promise time 620pm" and it came at 720pm....
Luckily the food came warm and it was still good but I think from now on i'll just take the hit and go pick it up even if it is rainy and cold....

The neighborhood Thai place if you live near Clark and Deming.

The food is solid.  What I mean by that is the dishes are tasty and inexpensive.  Don't go here expected a fine dining experience because you'll be disappointed.  But if you're looking for a tasty and reasonably priced Pad Thai then you can't go wrong with OoN. The service is fast (10-15mins) and customers are always greeted with a smile.

Not sure why this place has only 3 stars. Yes it looks like a diner. But the food isnt mediocre, given the price. I had the Singapore noodles, which were a bit of an all-right, they had curry powder on them and that's the only thing that made them any good. But they made an awesome strawberry shake for me with boba- a lot of people miss out on  this since its in another room of the restaurant and though you can see it, it doesnt seem like its part of the restaurant. Make use of it! its all fresh and you can taste the fruit for realz.

My neice had the sushi, sashimi and nigiri and she loved them all. Simple and clean and well prepared. Not fancy, but great for a lunch where you don't want fancy and you want good food :)

Ok passable asian food. Broad menu including chinese, thai and sushi. Went for lunch and fulfilled my sushi fix but am not clamoring to head back. Overall the non-sushi lunch specials seem like a better deal. Service was fast and efficient. Not the worst but there are better!

Finally found a place I can walk to for good food or get delivered on a rainy night like last night.  Pretty darn good, but not extraordinary.

The tempura rolls were delicious and had a little kick to them.  The crab rangoon was also pretty good, but I did not like the sweet and sour sauce that came with them.  We got these free because our order was over $15.  I like free.

The boy had pad thai with chicken.  He said he liked it, but I thought it was a little dry.  Good flavor though.

I want to try this place again and try some more interesting dishes.

Also, I should mention that the delivery guy was very nice even though hew as on a goose chase trying to find my weird apartment number.  Good people.

I ordered tom kha soup and extra-spicy green curry for delivery, and they were both delicious. The tom kha might have been one of the best cups of soup I've ever had in general (if you haven't tried it, you should!). The delivery guy was friendly, smiley, and arrived on time, plus they thoughtfully threw in two extra containers of hot sauce, which did not go unappreciated.

I have a theory that the restaurant is managed by people of Thai or Cambodian origin, which might explain why many of the positive reviews are for curries and Thai noodles and many of the negative reviewers ordered sushi or Chinese. I don't mean to say it's not possible to be good at making dishes from other cultures, only to suggest that the cooks here might have more of a specialization in regionally Thai food.

It's a nice, small charming place.  The service is so-so, and they're not really good about giving you basic amenities such as water and utensils unless you ask for it.

I ordered the curried shrimp fried rice, and it was super spicy and very delicious.  My boyfriend ordered  the chicken pad thai and he enjoyed it as well.  The portions were just right and made for a satisfying meal.

If you're looking for a quick Chinese/Japanese meal, then go here. But there are definitely better places to go.

(Reposting from my Red Bambuu review since it is the same restaurant)

Poor overall experience, mainly because of how they handled a gift certificate situation. Food is average.

I went here having won an Oodles of Noodles/Red Bambuu gift certificate worth $40 at a raffle. When I showed the server the certificate, she took it to the counter, where two more servers examined it and discussed it in great detail. Then one guy took the certificate and left the restaurant, and came back a few minutes later. He informed me that yes, I was allowed to use the certificate, but he wanted to know if I bought it from someone or received it free. I was really irritated by now, but politely informed him that I had won it and hadn't paid anything for it. This was good enough for him and they proceed to take our order after 15 minutes. But then, at the end of the meal, they added 18% gratuity to the tab (party of 2) without informing us, because they seemingly didn't trust that we would leave a cash tip for the meal.

All this made for a very poor experience - this is why I don't usually buy restaurant coupons etc, but this was a gift certificate which the restaurant owner had obviously sold to someone, so I can't understand why there was so much hesitation to accept it. Totally unacceptable.

Great neighborhood Thai and Asian restaurant in the Lincoln Park area.  They are BYOB with no cork fee.  The pricing is very affordable and love their crab ran-goons.   I really like the Lemon Chicken the most, but also enjoy the dumpling soup as well.  Would recommend going to the restaurant over getting it delivered or picking it up.  I feel that it is much better and the delivery/take out does no always do it justice!

I was happy to find some specials online: $5 spicy crazy  noodles and $3 spring rolls.  Both were just okay; nothing too special.  I'd get it again if I didn't want to get out too far.

The Thai iced tea was good though; I have a slight obsession with that!

Great bubble tea (I've only had the green tea and I love it!)
        - I like green tea anyways but it tastes more like green tea ice cream... not super sweet so you can drink the whole thing!  You can ask for this to-go too and they'll put it in a separate plastic cup so if you don't finish it, you can take it with you!

    Amazing crab ragoon - AMAZING!!!

Their bread bowls are good too - the chicken won ton and tomato bisque soups were equally great!

    Sushi is great too! YUM!

Ha ok - so all of my friends have a special name for this place - "Oodles of &%$#." I didn't think it would be that bad, and despite their pleading, I tried Oodles of Noodles. And, I found out the hard way, my friends were completely right.

I am not too tough on Thai places. I have lived for months at a time on Pad See Eiw, and pretty sure if I had a live for months on Oodles of Noodles' food, I would die. Cold, alone and starving.

The pad thai sucks, the pad see eiw sucks, the crab rangoon are passable (but seriously, how do you screw those up?), and don't get me started on the sushi. I would rather walk next door to Lincoln Park Market and get a frozen salmon to chew on. It would be better and cheaper too.

I guess I didn't order the right dish at this so called noodle shop???

I thought I ordered the crazy noodles with chicken.

What I got was overcooked pasta with a couple pieces of chicken.

Went here by default, because Toro sushi was full next door and we didn't feel like waiting forever.  The food was just ok.

Their  large menu can almost be a downfall - too many items - some were great, some were ok. Some were bad.  I wish places would cut down there menu and serve a small variety of very well made things, verses and garganutuan amount of items, some good, some mediocre, some bad.

Noodle dishes were decent - pretty good, but nothing memorable. Cantonese "no name" noodles, Dumpling noodle soup, Cashew noodles - just average.  I'd go back if I were walking down the street and hungry. If I was at home and hungry I wouldn't necessarily be drawn to travel here.

Miso soup was bad.  Really bland, not hot enough.  Spicy scallop role was TERRIBLE. Didn't taste fresh, had a very strange texture, almost a fishy taste. Yuck. Vegetable caterpillar role was very good and I would definitely order that again.

Appetizers were overall really good.  Huge crab rangoon that were very tasty, excellent vegetable spring rolls.  Potstickers were kind of bad.  The filling was good, but there was way too much dough and they were over pan fried, so they had a burnt, gassy flavor on the outside.

Service was fine - no problems.  Decor was confused.  This restaurant appears to at one point be three separate restaurants - so it was this weird chopped up room that was part noodles store front, part sushi storefront and part smoothie/soup counter.  It just didn't flow very well - and was obviously three distinct places that just chopped the walls down and made no effort to really integrate the three parts.

Prices were fine. It was nice that you could order half orders of sushi.

Overall this place was just ok.  Some going points, some bad points.  Nothing ever really worth going back for.  So many other noodles/sushi restaurants around that are so much better.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste my time. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it wasn't a consistently good experience either.

Oh how I miss my oodle of noodles. This used to be a regular lunch spot for me and my girlfriend when I lived in Chicago. They have the BEST Pad Thai I have ever eaten. It's your typical little quaint Asian place. Very cheap and they give you a good portion. You won't go wrong by eating here.

Thumbs down: I hate that this place had the fan running, heater off when there's only about 3ft high piles of snow right outside their window.

Thumbs up:  Mix and match sushi. I liked that I could split half of one roll with half of another. Great for tight budgets and my self-proclaimed, "shrinking" stomach.

Wonderful surprise: appeals to my sweet tooth!
I ordered panang curry with chicken: the broth/sauce was DELICIOUS. Very complex in depth with an addictive sweetness.

My sister ordered the pad thai, (which i think had a bit too much fish sauce-- smelly smelly) but the sauce was sweet and savory, and super saucy! not dry or super peanut-y. But really a different kind of variation on pad thai. I really liked.

The sushi was mediocre =/ quality of super white tuna wasn't all that. I also had the tropical volcano which was overdone with the tempura, and not enough spice for my tastes.

Still, a nice, interesting, inexpensive treat. The big plus--- Molly's for dessert!

    Not the best.

If I lived in Lakeview, I am sure I would find myself wandering back into this place if I were really jonesin some pan-Asian food, but the service was slow (I think they forgot about me) and they brought me the wrong order (I ordered curry fried rice and they brought me combination regular fried rice).

Chicken egg rolls were OK, but man do I miss that Chinese place off Diversey east of Broadway that used to have the awesome egg rolls.

Cross Post with Red Bambu--they are basically the same restaurant. You sit in Red Bambu and can order off of both menus.

I got a Living Social deal for this, which made it particularly enticing to visit during my recent  visit to Chicago. It also helped that my cousin lived nearby, making it a great place for us all to go to dinner. Overall, the group of four of us enjoyed our meals. If I recall, most of us had noodle dishes from the Oodles of Noodles menu.  I would say that this place is great for people in the neighborhood or who find themselves here. But, I wouldn't necessarily go a long distance to dine.  I would personally not order the Bao again, but the rest was great. Our waitress was extremely friendly, too. Worth a shot!

The delivery was late and the food was merely edible.  The pad see iew (their spelling, not mine) was pretty awful.  I put it in the fridge after tasting one bite thinking I'd doctor it up and eat it the next day.  Fast forward to one o'clock this morning after too many Pimm's Cups, the pad see iew was a drunk feast and it saved me from an awful hangover.

Three stars it is but never again.

Since Oodles of Noodles/Red Bambuu is a short walk from where I live, I've been there many times to eat in or get carry out--even moreso thanks to their Groupon. While it's pretty average Asian food, I've found it to be consistently good and have really only ever gotten one thing I wasn't crazy about (due to personal preference rather than their cooking skills). Their crab rangoon is so good I always make sure to order enough food for carry out to get it free. The bowls of soup are huge and delicious--a bargain for the amount you get. The shrimp tempura roll is so tasty that I've been known to stop by just to get that. Also nice is that sushi rolls can be ordered in half sizes so you can mix and match.

The Groupon was a great deal as $25 goes a long way there, even for 2 people. An average order for my boyfriend and I could include 2-3 entrees, a huge bowl of soup, Bangkok wings and/or some sushi. I don't really know if it's true they give less food knowing you're using one, but we always left stuffed and with enough leftovers for both of us when we used one. Technically, I think you're supposed to tell a restaurant up front that you're using a Groupon so I don't think it's odd that they ask before you order.

The only real downsides relate to the menu itself. I love to order Red Bambuu's bento boxes but this can only be done online. I'm not sure if they offer it for lunch, but it's definitely not available for dinner otherwise. I find this variance annoying and it may apply to other items as well. Their Bangkok wings are also a problem since they're apparently in limited quantity. We've been lucky enough to get them once out of at least 3-4 trys at ordering them. They're delicious and we always want to get them, but you put your order in and find out a bit later that they no longer have them. This is irritating and I wish the waitresses knew immediately whether or not they were available and would say so when you try to order them.

One thing I must also note is the service. I once ordered a bento box online for carry out. It was supposed to come with pieces of shrimp tempura roll, but instead had pieces of Philly roll. I specifically order this item to get the shrimp tempura roll so I was incredibly disappointed to walk down there and back home to find this out. I called OoN and explained this saying I just wanted my shrimp tempura roll and was more than willing to walk back over there just to get it. Instead, the woman who had answered insisted on having it delivered--which she did herself. Sure, it's only like a 5 minute walk, but they honestly didn't have to do that when I had offered to go back over there myself even though I didn't want to. They get a big plus in my book for that.

We were looking for a new place to eat tonight, and we were heading to a Italian place I think when we saw the picture of Pork Dumpling Soup so we decided to stop and try them out as the picture looked so good

Started off with the Chicken Hum Boa and it was full of Chicken and Shitaki Mushrooms, I really enjoyed this combination I would of liked a sauce on the meat but it was good as was, my partner was not happy with the Mushrooms as he doesn't like them

they also have Sushi so I ordered up some striped Sea Bass and some Eel, I was really happy they asked if I just wanted the fish or if I wanted it over rice and as I was eating it as a appetizer I didn't want rice, just give me my fish and eel I was happy a little Wasabi and down the throat it went

then there was the BBQ Pork Dumpling soup, it was very flavorful and didn't even need pepper, and besides for the pork in the dumpling they also put a good bit of pork into the soup also, and they gave you a good amount of noodles it says on the menu it is a meal by its self and I was beyond stuffed next time just the soup I think, ok maybe a piece of eel or two :)

    This is short and simple.

Chicken boa. ICKY! It has mushrooms in it with the chicken and some kind of thick gravy stuff. Over all it tasted like boa with cream of mushroom and gravy. Will not order again!

Pineapple smoothie. Even though they advertise bubble tea you can forego the bubble and get it smoothie style. Very delish! Very refreshing and healthy. I will order this again.

Bbq pork with dumpling. Pretty good although I was expecting something along the line of pho. This soup is roman. The broth was good, tons of bbq pork and a few fat dumplings stuffed with more yummy pork. I will also order this again even though I was expecting pho.

Very convenient, just down Clark, so the trip down is an easy walk. The option for delivery, I've never experienced in Kansas City, so I love Chicago.

The food? I've had better. The Pad Thai tasted funny, the Orange Chicken tasted like Sweet and Sour Pork. I liked the Fried Rice and Crab Rangoon...but it wasn't as good as our favorite place in Kansas City...so I can only give it two stars. I was expecting much more.

This place is the definition of average thai food.  They know how to put meat veggies and noodles in a bowl, and it's pretty inexpensive, so points for that... but if you're looking for something that is really fresh and delicious you are probably going to be disappointed.  BYOB is nice though.

Try Penny's instead and you probably won't be disappointed.

Needed: greasy Chinese food to get over hangover/break-up/bad day at work.
Oodles is it. I love their chicken lo mein and they have the best potstickers i have found in chicago.
It's cheap and fast delivery. Sometimes chinese food is so bad its good- this is it.

I am a huge fan of Thai food and had never been to Oodles of Noodles before, so when I saw it was featured on Groupon I took the bait.

This place is very small. The seating is not intimate at all. You can easily hear the conversations going on at the table next to you, which isn't terrible, but I know I won't dine in frequently.

The food is great! Not the best Pad Thai I've had but definitely delicious. My boyfriend and I shared a lemon chicken mix. It wasn't traditional lemon chicken -- maybe it was something spicy, too? -- but regardless it was delish. By far the best part was the crab rangoon. Very creamy, very crunchy. Highly recommend.

The service -- C. Honestly, I felt like leaving 10% tip because the waiters/waitresses didn't do much except take our order and bring our food. They never checked in on whether or not we needed water or wanted to order extra food (like sushi or another appetizer). My boyfriend and I eat a lot and would have been happy to sample another dish if they'd ever come back to check on us!

All in all, I am satisfied with my experience and will go back, but it is not drop-dead amazing. I still like the Pad Thai entree at Thai Bowl better.

Oh, BYOB is a major plus!!

I'm always getting take-out here since it's so close to me. The pad thai, gyoza, and the asian stir-fry are my favorites, and I think there's only been one dish I haven't enjoyed. I'm not sure how "authentic" it tastes, but I keep going  back so they are doing something right... it hits the spot. One serving always lasts me two days. I probably wouldn't eat-in here because it seems very cramped and the atmosphere isn't anything to write home about.
One negative is that they always tell me my order will be ready in 15 minutes, but, it's more like 20-25 minutes. Don't rush over for pick up!

Two stars is generous.  This place is average at best.

If you want good pad thai in lakeview, go to Joy's on broadway.

Oodles of Noodles is great if you know what to order.  The Pad Thai is delicious--very fresh and well executed the few times I've had it and the soups are delicious with huge portions--enough for a full meal.

From what others have told me their sushi is terrible. I cannot speak to to the rest of the items on the menu but in my experience this is a reliable, inexpensive and quick noodle spot--a great find in our neighborhood.

I walked to my table, slipped, and nearly fell on my butt from someones leftover noodle mess on the floor that had not been cleaned up. But I still wanted to stay...and try it out.

Flys and other creepy crawlies were around...but I wanted to stay, and try their food out....

The boyfriend was freaking out from all of the above, plus the fact he couldn't have real ice tea (or any unlimited drink here, since its BYOB) but I pleaded for him to let us try this place..and to stop being a big baby...

...How sad was I when it didn't work out...

My food was alright, I had the Pad See Iew. The chicken tasted a little weird, but I loved the noodles. The boyfriends Pad Thai, on the hand....horrible. It looked and tasted like it came out of a box.

    - I guess i shouldve listened to the boyfriend....

We will be sticking to our old favorites for Thai food.

disclaimer: I ordered food and got it delivered so this review is only based on that experience.

Okay folks, so I ran the Chicago Half Marathon today and I did really well.  Usually, I'm a big calorie counter..I watch what I eat and all that boring stuff.  However, since I did so well in the race and burned a hundred bazillion calories, I wanted take out Chinese!!!

Every, I'm talkin' EVERY time I've gotten take out Chinese in Chicago I've either though "meh, that was okay" or "OMG that was HORRIBLE" so I was a little nervous about answering my craving.  I decided to take a chance, and went on Grub Hub and typed "chicken fried rice" in when it asked me what I wanted

Oodles was on the list and had 4 stars.  I figured it was safe since I've heard of it before.  All I wanted was your stardard, fattening Chinese take out.  I got an order of chicken fried rice and an order of lo mein, plus some miso soup (YES, all for myself...dont judge)

My order arrived in just 20 minutes and the driver was so nice.  I opened my new prize and it smelled so wonderfully unhealthy!  It was THE best chinese take out I've ever had in Chicago!  I gobbled down a little here and a little there, and I'm so excited for my leftovers tonight.  I dont like peas, so whenever they give fried rice without veggies it's a bonus for me.  They werent stingy on the vegetables in their lo mein though, which I liked.

I really cant wait to actually eat AT the restaurant if the takeout was that good.

While visiting my best friend in Chicago, we overslept and decided on a late lunch.  In the midst of sightseeing and starting the long walk to the zoo, two o'clock rolled around and we still hadn't eaten.  Starving and in need of a beer, we needed something fast.  My friend recommended Oodles of Noodles, which was on the way and BYOB.  Picking up a Goose Island special edition Matilda four-pack, we headed to Clark Street.

We both decided on the $5.99 lunch combo, which included soup and the appetizer of the day, along with a choice of around 10 noodle dishes.  I took the waitress' advice and ordered the crazy spicy noodles with shrimp.  Our egg drop soup and crab rangoon arrived approximately three minutes later- piping hot and delicious.  Just as we began to dig in, the noodles arrived.  The tails were taken off my shrimp, which I was happy about.  The portions were HUGE and the crazy spicy noodle sauce was delicious.

All in all, our bill was $18.00 WITH tip.  Talk about incredible, and it filled us up completely.  With the BYOB added in, this place is fantastic and a perfect place to have a quick, cheap bite while in the windy city.
