I love Online Coffee.
This particular location has really great, friendly staff, fast internet, and lots of computers to use, as well as great coffee and both vegan and normal snack offerings (as well as beer and wine).

Downside is that it attracts a lot of gross/crazy people, but no more than normal in this area.

It's clean, and has great service and cheap internet (or free, if you're on a laptop). I have been coming here since before I moved to Capitol Hill and will continue to do so.

I really like this place BUT...

I had an experience their this eve that was just ridiculous

I was sitting in the table across from the barista(short red-brown hair and nose ring)...and she had my credit card on file

I asked her politely could I see my credit card because I needed to enter my credit card number in my computer...and I would give it right back

She wanted me to give her my id...I thought she was joking....I was within 3 feet of her...and she demanded I give her my ID even though I told her she would have my card back within 2 minutes..which she did

I guess I was just going to run out on a $4 tab even though my laptop and everything was all set up...f'ing ridiculous

All of the rest of the baristas are super cool and friendly.

This one is just a bitch...and thats why she got a big fat zero for a tip

-Mark

My visit to the Olive Way Online Coffee Co. was a pleasurable experience. It has a cozy feel on the inside. There are a lot of desks with desktop PC's that you can pay to use (cheap when you buy coffee) and then other tables to sit at with your coffee and/or laptop. The service was very friendly and the coffee was good. I agree with some previous reviews, that it is tough to find coffee shops that are open late, but Online stays open until 1am. I know I'll be back here for some late night studying.

The only downsides I see are the limited patio seating, and it seems that this place could get crowded at times (not sure though). There may be more desks with PC's than places to sit for a laptop, I know that's the concept, but I kind of wish it was the other way around.

Go to this place for coffee because they have the best Cafe Latte, free internet, and they open until 1 AM.  I am addicted to the Cafe Latte here.  I would say that it closely resemble the caramel machiato at Starbucks but less sugary.   You get one hour of free internet access if you give them your Driver's License.

Staff here had always been nice and attentive.  They have from coffee to alcoholic beverages so there is something for everyone.  Nice cozy location.  I really like it here.  The only thing I would change is to make their coffee a little hotter.

for students, artists, or just nocturnal coffee drinkers, this is the spot for late night work! it's open til 1am every day.
i'm used to going to the other online coffee on 14th and pine and this one feels different. more of a cozy home feeling and it's quiet. what i love about online coffee is that they know people are here to use the computers. they've got tons of outlets & computers you can pay to use.

as for the coffee, it's alright. my barista almost gave me regular coffee instead of decaf so thank goodness he remembered after and remade my drink.

I don't know when God decided there shouldst be no coffee shops in walking distance in and around Capitol Hill without loud, obnoxious hipsters/students/music and with outdoor seating. And decent coffee....

This one escaped the decree. There are places you can go where it's quiet, but their "outdoor seating" is a few chairs thrown on the sidewalk. Stumptown, Victrola, etc....Not good for balancing a laptop and a big dog. Or you can go somewhere with outdoor seating, and loud music or painful conversation. Exhibit A: Watertown. Exhibit B: Bauhaus.

The man and I headed to Online for some afternoon weekend work with the dog, and I'll be back for the quiet patio, the friendly barista, the small but healthy selection of breakfast bars and biscotti. Coffee's fine, and by now I'm willing to put up with less than the very best in order to be outside with the laptop and dog. For the next few precious months, anyway!

This was the second cozy coffeeshop I discovered on my recent swing-dancing trip to Seattle, and I'm glad I did. The first time I came I spent a slow afternoon at one of the tables outside, nursing an iced latte while waiting for one of the dances to start. When I asked for a snack to tide me over through the evening's dancing, the barista recommended an oat and fruit bar that was quite tasty and filling, despite being vegan. The coffee was good, though nothing particularly memorable.

I came again on my last day in town, duffel bag in tow, and took advantage of their "one hour on a computer for one dollar" deal with my coffee. They have quite a few computer stations set up, though it became apparent that not all of the computers were in perfect working order. The space is generous and well set up, with the computer desks along the back two walls, other tables near the windows, and a couple of couches facing a coffee table in the middle of the room.

For a place where people come to get work done, he atmosphere is very comfortable and home-like. There's a little bit of a "too-cool vegan" feel to the food selections, but I was happy with what I tried, and the baristas were friendly and helpful.

Always busier on the weekends than weekdays and I almost never go during the weekends. Pretty studious atmosphere with comparatively low-volume conversations (this I appreciate.) Outdoor seating and wine if ya want.

Bring your laptop or put up your driver's license or credit card use their PCs. First 30 minutes free with drink purchase or add $1 to get a full hour and then 14 cents thereafter. Of course, free wi-fi.

They use Sattwa chai (real organic spices - no Additives - Fair Trade Certified Tea.) Since 10% of Sattwa sales are donated to life-supportive projects around the world Online Coffee is a supportive link in the Sattwa Chai supply chain. It's yummy.

One really good thing about this place is that they open till 1am everyday.
If you really had to use a computer (or a printer, more likely) in the middle of night, this place could save your life.
Also, they got a couple of sofas, so you can relax and use your own laptop because Wifi is free as long as you buy a drink.

However, their coffee is ....... not too good.
(However, the coffee allows you to use their computer for 30mins)
If you are looking for a place to mess with your computer with a cup of delightful coffee, you might wanna find somewhere else.

Don't forget to message me when you find one.

One more good place for free wifi. Didn't get coffee, but the barista seemed competent - the espresso machine made all the right sounds while I sat next to it and he had a fair crop of regulars (always 2 important signs).

Best things about this place:
+ couches
+ decent beer & wine selection
+ good tea
+ low noise level
+ computers available for nominal fees
+ outdoor patio for people-watching

Worst things:
- uncomfortable chairs and tables
- bathroom is rather creepy (though not totally disgusting)
- VERY limited food options (though there are plenty of Odwallas)

I think I have some sort of ADHD and for some reason I cannot study at home. Every damn minute I would get distracted by my cat, TV, broom (what can I say I like to sweep the floor), books, http://Jezebel.com and whatever else my ADHD mind makes me do.
But for some reason Online Coffee makes my hyper ass still and my focus level goes up to superhuman level. Its the hella good coffee, the dude and dudettes that play good music and the quiet customers ( none of those 'OH MAH GAWD LAST NIGHT SO AND SO WAS LIKE OH MAH GAWD" bitches that sips their Fraps) that does it for me.
Now, I would give it a five star but damn that place is hot....no HELLA hot. Hot in a bad way. So I tend to stay away for the summer and resume my Online Coffee addiction when it's colder.
So if you are those people who loves coffee, quiet cafes and summer time sweater wearer, then this is your place.

What more can a person ask for?

glass of vino (if you so desire), or a good cuppa joe, and the internet to play on.

I'm one of those people who still doesn't have Internet in there apartments (It's damn expensive), so I frequent many coffee establishments. My absolute favorite it is the capitol hill Online coffee.
There is always fantastic music playing, the baristas are all totally HOT, and they do a great job of making is feel like your home away from home. . Oh yeah and the coffee is pretty good too.
Also don't worry about having your own Internet machine with you, they have many top of the line well maintained ones available for a very reason price. (20 minutes free with purchase of a drink).

There's that song by The Blow called "Hey Boy," the primary inquiry of which is "Why you didn't call me?"

Nick, you skinny, bespectacled, heart-breaker of a barista you, I still wonder why you never called.  A beer, some pizza, mad flirtation, and then no word.  Oh how you toy with me!

But I still go into Online Coffee when I'm in Seattle for a nice beer and to check my email.

And by "my email" I mean "your fine ass self," Mr. Nickcoffeeman.

I like this place.  Capitol Hill is not my neighborhood at all, but when it comes to choosing a place for a coffee date with a vehicle-less friend who never leaves the Hill, this is it.  The clientele seem to respect the space in general and that leaves the atmosphere feeling very nice.

The coffee is good and the baristas are friendly!  I've never had to use the internet here, but I hear you get free minutes with a coffee purchase?

I dig this place. If you buy a coffee or tea, you get 30 minutes on the computer for free. Yes, I'm aware that 90% of you could care less cuz you've got your nifty little laptops handy, but for those of us still in the stone age who haven't yet come up to your level, we like online coffee shops, especially ones that are friendly, have fast internet connections and aren't robbing you blind!

Definately not a place to bring your friends and chat over coffee (but that's ok, i have other places to go to for that. The place is dead quiet with everyone on the computers you can use or wifi access.

The tea is quite good, the coffee is not impressive.

However, this is a great place for wifi. The connection is always working and fast. Since it is quiet you can get your work (or browsing) done in piece. I use this place anytime i'm without wireless and need some internet service.

When I first walked in here (20 minutes ago, I'm writing the review from the cafe) it struck me as very eerie and oddly out of place from your normal Seattle coffee shop. There are about 20 people in the room, but everyone is completely silent because they're working on computers (you can use the cafe's desktops, or bring a laptop). It's like walking into a library, except there's indie music playing in the background.
Then I decided it's not that weird - you see places like this all the time in European cities - but they're fairly rare here. So it's actually really good that we have a couple.

The interior is cozy, the coffee is decent, and the wireless is free (unlike the Starbucks two blocks down Olive).

I will get  on my soap box again.  For a supposedly caffeine crazy town, there are not many coffee/tea places that are open late in Seattle.  Yay for On-line Coffee in Capitol Hill.  One of the only joints in town that isn't a bar or club that is actually open past 11pm. For this I will be forever grateful as doing any kind of work in my apartment is impossible.  They do offer access to computers at reasonable rates but I have my own small laptop so don't usually use this option.  The location is a bit cute.  Kind of feels like someones living room with its rickety wooden floors and interior.  I like sitting outisde on the patio when the weather is nice.  Its always pretty mellow and quiet.  The music is usually playing in the background and not too distracting.  The barista is always nice.  I am actually more of a loose leaf tea person and unfortunately they only have a small selection of tea bags to choose from but oh well.   As this is Cap Hill, parking a car can be an issue, luckily I live First HIll and usually bike it.  If you looking for a quiet place to get some work done after 11pm think about this place.

Patio seats for the summer. Comfy chairs and couches for the winter. Window tables. Laptop bar. Warm atmosphere. Friendly and cute barristas. A decent cup of coffee. Free wi-fi. Plus they don't mind when you show up at 9, get a coffee, and then just work for the next 3 hours.

The only complaint against this location is that there is a day care in the space upstairs. If the fruit juice was handed out that morning those kids can make it sound like the place is coming down around you. It's not so bad, but it can be hard to concentrate.

Going later in the evening tends to be quite a bit more crowded that earlier in the day, but I've never been unable to find seating.

Love this place! I'd been looking for a cafe that didn't play loud obnoxious music and had good coffee/tea. Really friendly staff, great drinks, and decent pastries (scones, cookies). They're open until 1am, so that's always good to know :)

Nice if you don't have a computer, you can print stuff out as well. Otherwise I was served the worse latte I have ever had, but I hear their coffee usually isn't that bad. They get 2 stars for selling Flying Apron goodies.

I used to come here all the time because we didn't have internet at the apartment... so, this place is pretty nice and can save your heiny if you're in a bind and need internet access.  The coffee was really good and it was nice a clean.  They also serve beer and wine, which I find amusing, but hey... you gotta be drinkin' if you're reading emails from your parents or worse, your ex.

I literally live right across the street from Online Coffee Company on Capitol Hill.  Love the atmosphere and the baristas are really friendly.  I'm sort of a Coffee snob and I think the drinks are fantastic.  They use a manual espresso machine which really allows you to control the flavor and strength of each shot....as opposed to those nasty automatic machines you see at Starbucks and Tully's!!  30 Minutes free Internet when you buy a beverage....and 1 hour if you're a student....not bad!!

One of the only place in my neighborhood i know where you can actually use a printer.  (If anyone else knows a place, let me know.)  This is awsome when your printer suddenly stops working ( i hate my damn printer.)  Like others said, it's nice and quiet, but usually busy.  The coffee and tea is pretty good (doesn't come close to vivace, though.)
