Good after work place.  Not to stay.  Just for a quick drink or two.

Come on Friday definitley though.  1/2 price apps and $3 seasonal beers.  Yum and cheap!  What a great way to start off the weekend.

Huge patio.  Inside is not too hot.  Crowded for the bar.

Awesome bartenders and servers though.  On top of it and know how to work the after 5 crowd.

I chowed down on some calimari.  For a 1/2 price app it was fine.  It was not by any means fantastic.  But the Sam Octoberfest at $3 kinda made up for that.  And garlic mayo covers up anything that tastes blah.

Pull up a chair one Friday after work with me though.  We'll eat and drink cheap and plan the weekend ahead of us!

One star for atmosphere + one star for service + one star for a good wine list - 1 star for awful food = 2.

We stopped in for a couple glasses of wine and some apps before seeing Faust at the opera house.  The wine was good; the food was seriously bad.

We shared 2 orders of the toro crunch roll, an order of "pommes frites," the goat cheese timbale and the spinach salad.

"Pommes frites" = your standard, average bar french fries.

Goat cheese "timbale" = a log of Trader Joe's goat cheese unwrapped and slapped on a plate with 4 chopped kalamata olives, some chopped tomato, 3 measly baguette slices and some romaine leaves to make it look "fancy."

Spinach salad was meh.

The toro roll pissed me the EFF off.  That was NOT toro.  Toro means fatty tuna, from the belly of the fish.  What was served in the roll is mediocre, not that fresh, regular old tuna.  But thanks for playing, One North.

I did enjoy my two glasses of Paso Robles.  Mmmmm...wine...

Looking for a great place to grab a drink or a quick bite? Then look no further than One North- an American brassiere that feels a little bit clubby with it's upscale ambiance.

Sit outside on the large patio or come indoors to gather with friends at the mahogany paneled lounge, with a marble bar, modern art on the walls and a white table clothed dining area. Hard to believe that this is brought to you by the same people who own the Bar Louie chain!

It is usually packed after work or before the Opera (it's right across from the Civic Opera House). While the ambiance says clubby- the noise level in the place says fun! so don't let the fancy coverings intimidate you.

Drinks are expensive so know before you go that all that ambiance costs. The clientele are usually people from the building and you can hear snippets of business being discussed as the martinis are shaken. While I can only vouch for the drinks here- I have it on good authority that the risotto and the steaks are the best things on the menu.

Next time you are looking to impress someone with an "after work" drink- take them to One North. Your good taste will coming shining through!

I question the palettes of those who used the words "great" to describe the food put out by this restaurant.  Between insulting the lamb that gave its life to become my dinner with a lack of complimentary flavors, making the salmon wish it had just been eaten by a bear instead of humiliated by being poorly cooked and seasoned, and failing to make a simple caesar emulsion, this restaurant can justify neither its price tag or taking up such a prized location.

The reason I even gave a second star: the bartenders seem to know what they are doing, and while a  bit bumbling, our waiter was attentive.  The food, as outlined below, was uninspired, and just plain underseasoned.

We had attempted to order the Fritto Misto to start, but were informed that they were out.  Disappointed, we settled on splitting a house made Ceasar, because I enjoy a good, freshly made Ceasar, even if I can never spell it properly.  The dressing was not good - the emulsion was not set, it was not well dispersed on the salad, and it seemed overly oily.

For an entree, I ordered the lamb chops with ratatouille, medium rare.  What I got was unevely cooked, the lamb chops without a spot of pink at many points.  The treatment of such a delicate piece of meat was horrifying.  Worse was the lack of flavor.  I actually had to grab the salt.  My friend had the salmon with fingerlings.  I don't know if this chef likes to let the food speak for itself, but someone needs to tell him or her that fish can't speak and the chef needs to do some interpreting with flavors.  Bland and blander would be a great way to describe the meal.  I ordered a side of mashed potatoes, which were standard, boring mashed potatoes, and kind of cold.

After the lackluster dinner, we opted out of dessert.

Ultimately, if you are going just to enjoy a drink, this place is fine, but if you want something to sate your appetite, save your money.  And save the animals that give their lives to be your dinner, because these chefs definitely don't respect the fact those fluffly little lambs died to be on the plate the way they cook and flavor them.

I have been here twice before for lunch and enjoyed the experience bot times.  I always get the Nicose Salad with seared Tuna.  It is always great.  During the week this place is packed for lunch, so resos are recommended.  I am going back today for lunch...I will write another review tonight!

Went here for lunch during the weekday, sat outside.  The outdoor seating area was pleasant.  Average food (all the negative reviews surprise me - maybe there are issues with consistency) that might be a little over-priced, but its on target with its competitors.   Our server was quite cheerful and attentive.

I loved the drinks. the blueberry-mint lemondae was wonderful and well as the mojitos.  The entre were very large portions, I had the  grilled Rainbow trout with rock shrimp and my friend the pan-friend Cod with shihtake mushrooms.  Both were so good, we kept eating from each others place.  It is a bit pricey for dinner.  I'd like to go back for a happy hour and take advantage of the cheaper food.

We came in to eat last night, having bought the Groupon. I cannot believe that this place's doors are still open!
We had a 7:30 reservation, but didn't need one, as the place was nearly empty.
Our server, who also seemed to be the hostess, was very sweet, but had a habit of speaking to us like we were children, and began talking loudly to us when she was still very far away from our table, which I found a little odd.
To begin with, the bread that was brought out was stone cold. That, I could deal with, but the hubby gave me " I should have picked the place" look. His initial thoughts turned out to be spot on.  The chef sent out an appetizer "gratis". It was a fried ball of duck and risotto. It too was stone cold, and tasted like a bad hushpuppy. It was served by itself on a plate. A greasy fried ball of risotto. If this is an amuse bouche, we're in for hilarity.
The hubby ordered the french onion soup, which we both normally love. The waitress brought out 2 soups, even though I didn't order one, which I thought was nice. The coloring of the broth was typical of what I would expect, but one bite, and I was immediately turned off.  It was completely flavorless! Neither myself or my husband ate the soup.
Next, for our entrees, my husband ordered the short ribs. When they came out, the presentation was very unappealing. It was served with creamed polenta, which was running across the plate. The "ribs" ended up being a big hunk of fat with a couple of edible pieces. To be honest, the look of the fat slopped onto a plate of runny polenta turned my husband off so much, he just didn't eat it. The manager tried to tell us that this is normal for ribs. Sorry guy, I've had the short ribs several times before, and they weren't 95% fat.
I ordered the lamb chops with ratatouille. Rare. When my dish came, the lamb was burnt to a crisp. It was also served with fried polenta that was a soggy mess. I did taste the dish before sending it back. NO THANK YOU... So, we ended up just calling it a loss and sending both uneaten entrees back.
As a cook myself, I would NEVER have served what came out of that kitchen. I would be embarrassed, and whomever allowed this meal out of that kitchen should just quit cooking right now because their pride is GONE.
Did I mention that this all took an hour and a half? On a Tuesday in an empty restaurant, a bowl of soup and an entree took an hour and a half.

Around 45 minutes into the meal, and before getting our entree, we put on our coats to go outside and smoke, and the waitress ran up to us asking what was wrong? For her 1st thought to be that we're unhappy and leaving says something about this place.

The manager comped our food ( there is no way anyone should have to pay to eat that stuff), he explained that the kitchen was having an "off night"... seriously? With 6 people in the restaurant you can't find someone standing around back there that can cook a decent meal for $30 a person? We paid for our drinks and left. Never to return again.

Definitely on the fancy side if you are looking to have drinks after work.  More of a nice-lunch or dinner place.  In fact, prior to tonight's tete-a-tete, I'd only been here for company events.  The interior is dark leather, dark wood, and white tablecloths - so sit up straight and use your inside-voices!

They do have a decent beer selection (And our server was able to rattle them off by heart!  Hooray for her!  Typically, when I ask what beers a places serves I get a lot of blank stares).  Appetizers looked good, but tonight was more of a beverage-only event.

Another fun tidbit - they have specials on Tuesday where a preselected alcohol is sampled (there is a pear margarita event in the near future with my name all over it!).  They give you a schedule of tastings with your check, so hold on to it!

I'm so surprised at the not so great reviews!  I went here for dinner with my mom and just loved EVERYTHING.  I had pan-roasted Cod that was perfectly cooked with the most amazing sauce I've probably ever tasted and a delicious side of small potatoes.  OMG!  I think I'm salivating just thinking about it.  The atmosphere was also nice also a lot more businessy than I would normally frequent but that's what you get for eating in the business district.  Anyway, great freakin' fish at this place.  Can't really account for anything else there but my mother & I both had amazing fish entrees.

My husband and I went for dinner on Saturday night and had a terrible experience with One North.  We were treated as shabbily as the 7th Gosselin kid (yes, I went there).  We had a Groupon, but we are good Groupies that always tip big and always buy way more than the Groupon amount.  I guess the manager and waitress couldn't tell by looking at us and we were seated right beside the washroom.  By the way, if you are waiting for the washroom please don't hover around me, we had a gentleman practically staring at us and a woman that sneezed on her way to AND from the bathroom.  Our waitress couldn't be more dismissive and unhelpful, even as I asked her a simple question about a choice between salads.  I haven't even gotten to the food yet, which was literally tossed on our table by a bus-boy (sorry, I don't know the PC term for that role)!  I ordered the tuna and it was a tiny portion, lacking flavor, cold and served on a bed of terribly cooked eggplant.  You can't flavor vegetables with capers and cilantro (I think) and call it a day.  The polenta was odd, it had a dry outer crust/skin and the inside was ok.   My husband ordered the salmon and found it watery, limp and boring.

We normally order tons of appetizers and desserts, we normally spend well above the Groupon amount but I was so uncomfortable with the way we were treated and the food that I skipped out on dessert.  We decided to tip 20%, not because this place deserved it but because they must have had a sour experience with Groupon users and we didn't want to contribute to the negative perception of Groupies.  What a wasted evening!

I think it's hilarious that I have virtually no money but ended up here to meet friends who have "real jobs" for drinks.  I felt under-dressed the whole time but quickly rid myself of that notion by consuming more than my fair share of Grey Goose in a wonderful little cocktail called the Dirty Martini.  Not original but yes, oh so good.  To be serious, they were actually delicious and wonderfully poured.

We ordered a couple of appetizers to ensure that we left if a somewhat reasonable state and while they were tasty I thought they were the product of really trying too hard.  And far too expensive for what we actually got.  High end Tater-tots?  Really?  I guess we ordered them but somehow I actually expected much more than actual tater tots served with a tomatillo-inspired dipping sauce.

Perhaps I'm snooty in a "hey I'm a graduate student and I wear t-shirts almost 300 days a year" kind of way but I just thought this place took itself seriously too seriously.  Loosen up a little.  If you un-clench, it's more comfortable for everyone.

But, I will reiterate that the martinis were actually wonderful.

Definitely appeals to the business lunch crowd. Whenever I'm here, I think of the Chappelle show where he has John Mayer rocking out on the electric and, next thing you know, business men start jumping on tables and fighting eachother. Anyways, something to think about before hittin up 1 N.

The food was alright. The bread was delicious. Both times I've been here I've ordered different pasta dishes: once was the risotto and the other was the ravioli. The ravioli, I thought, was real good and I didn't think about eating again for about 13 hours. The risotto was ok, something tasted a bit off, but what the hell do I know?

1N's in the UBS building across from the Lyric Opera, which makes it a convenient location for both cultural buffs and business(wo)men alike -  the clientele that frequent this joint are usually dressy.

Even though I've worked a block away for over a year now, a $500 gift card from a BCR benefit (just goes to show that charity is always rewarding) finally brought me to this Townhouse sister. The fritto misto with chipotle mayo was above average i.e. better than Grand Lux's. Their scallops were tender and delicious. I'm a huge cheese fan, but picky of anything not cheddar, brie, camembert, comte or chevre. So I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the roquefort on kobe sliders- it was a mild yet distinctive contrast to the sweet red onion marmalade (think caramelized onions). Definitely worth a try.

Going for drinks? Try Tuesday nights, where the "Taste of Tuesday" involves complimentary samples of a drink for all patrons after 6 PM. In light of current events, 1N's got some political-themed drinks running until early November: a "Dirty Politician", the "$1M Bribe", etc.etc. I had the Bribe, which was a ridiculously strong mojito-like concoction that made my mouth pucker, and a sweet, fruity Pom Peche martini, which was much more up my alley. Co-workers enjoyed some great pinot noir and for those with similar wine affections, 1N features a half-bottle list, which is perfect for those who like two with dinner.

As with all restaurants in the Financial District, this place is packed between 11:30 and 1:30 (prime lunch hour), so if you're taking a client out for a meal, make a reservation beforehand. Ditto with happy hour/dinner hour, but if you get in, it's a boisterous and enjoyable spot. I'd put it in the same price range as Rivers and Lloyd's. Sleek, modern, and charming, One North Kitchen is a few notches above your casual dining (Bennigan's [RIP], Chili's, TGI Friday's, Buca, Rock Bottom, etc.) spot in décor. And with the multitude of quality seafood options, it marks even higher in food.

Of the more upscale options in the Loop, One North is my favorite. Like RIvers and Lloyd's, they have a pretty straightforward menu. But everything here seems to be executed a bit better than those other spots.

The One North space is relatively simple. Exposed brick, mahogany and a good-sized bar. I like the look when compared to other similar restaurants. One North is owned by Restaurants America, whose spots are typically simple but modern and I like how they all look. One North also has a nice, large outdoor seating area.

On the menu, the salads are good, the risotto is excellent and the sandwich selection at lunch is great. The slow-roasted chicken sandwich is my favorite. I have had a few of the fish entrees that are good, as well. So while they may not do anything outside the box, One North has a solid menu and executes it well. And I have always had fun there when having a few after-work drinks.

Well, I must agree with the other reviews - lunch is nothing to rave about!

However, they have a happy hour $5.00 menu that I wish I could order off of all the time.

I love the mac 'n cheese - a huge big bowl of heaven.  Also, they have mini kobi beef sliders that everyone raved about.  The service has always been very attentive and the atmosphere is great!

Wow.  It was a pretty crappy dinner experience.

I went in on a business dinner.  We were seated immediately for our reservation, probably because we were one of only half a dozen tables in the place.  Despite the lack of other diners, we sat for five to ten minutes without menus, bread, water or wait staff attention.  The waitress finally showed up, told us that we'd be receiving bread and water soon, and asked for our drink orders.  We asked for a drink menu, and she seemed surprised that we didn't already have menus.

We ordered our drinks and waited another unacceptably long time to receive them.  That became a pattern throughout the evening: an unacceptably long wait for everything.  Unfortunately, our waitresses attention was one of those things we had to wait for.

I'm not quite clear why she didn't pay more attention to us when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant.  All night long our drinks would be empty for long periods of time.  Our dinner took two and half hours, mainly due to inattention, and we saw our waitress about every half hour.  What really annoyed me was that she didn't seem to realize she was a crappy waitress.  She had that "I'm an on-top-of-it waitress in a nice restaurant and oh aren't I so good" air about her - totally unwarranted.  In fact, when I ordered my meal, I asked her to come back to me after the rest of the table had placed their orders, because I was unsure if I might want to change my mind.  She ran off after taking the last order, completely forgetting my request.  I'd have corrected her if I'd seen her again before our meals were brought out.

On a sidenote,  I was served the most disgusting cranberry martini of my life this night.  I also ordered a double gin and tonic.  I was given a tall gin and tonic in a pint glass.  Tacky.

The menu looked fantastic.  The choices sounded fun and we were excited to receive our meals.  Unfortunately, the quality of food was extremely middle of the road.  I had to drench my duck in the cherry glaze to find some flavor.  My polenta "gnocchi" was completely dearth of depth.  The rest of the table had ordered mostly kobe steaks, and they were extremely underwhelmed.  Kobe is supposed to melt in your mouth - it's supposed to be SO GOOD that it's worth the ridiculous amount you have to pay for it.  These steaks were a decent New York strip quality, at best.  It was pathetic.

Dessert time came, and that menu was much less interesting than the dinner menu.  There were about five choices, and some of them were just plain odd.  Goat cheese cake?  What's wrong with a nice goat cheese tart - why does it have to be some odd cake?  The dessert wine menu was boring.   We ordered carrot cake that was so disgusting we couldn't finish it.  My husband ordered vanilla ice cream, and what he got tasted like some sort of mint/lemon ice cream hybrid; it most certainly wasn't vanilla.  Another member of our party ordered the cheese plate and was told they were OUT OF CHEESE.  Seriously?

We honestly walked our of there on a mission to warn anyone we could to NEVER eat at this place for dinner.  You will be horribly disappointed and sad that you wasted an evening.  Go elsewhere.

Everything about my experience at One North was just middle of the road. I came here with my team for a business lunch, and shortly after we arrived for our 11:30am reservation, the place had filled up completely.  Since it was lunch we did salads, sandwiches, and burgers - and everything was just okay.  The coleslaw was not great, the fries were a little overcooked, the bread on my roasted chicken sandwich was dry, ice tea/coke refills took a long time, etc.  The server was perfectly friendly and the busboy was filling waters and clearing plates like a machine, but the visit was not memorable.

I really thought the fish special sounded delicious, as did some of the fish dishes on the menu, but since it was lunch we weren't really up for big entrees.  Pretty dcor, convenient location, I just expected more. Maybe I'll have to stop back for dinner after work to try the fish and a cocktail, but for lunch I am sticking by my three stars.

I'm really surprised at all the less than stellar reviews about this place.  My experiences here have been good.

The first time I came here was just for drinks - I ran into an old coworker on the street and after chatting for a while she suggested we grab a drink here.  We sat outside on the patio, it wasn't busy, it was a beautiful night, and our server was great.  We called another friend to come meet us, and the two of them split a sushi appetizer which looked good, but I did not try it.  Our drinks were fairly priced, and overall it was a lovely evening of unexpected fun.

The second time I came with a coworker for a nice lunch to celebrate his birthday.  We had some other options in mind, but everywhere was packed and we ended up here.  This place is PACKED at lunch so be prepared for that, but after we waited in line to check in we ended up getting seated right away.  They sat us at a long table and asked us if we minded another party of 2 sitting at the other end, and we didn't.  Yes, it was weird at first but I don't have a problem with them getting creative and using a 6 top to seat 2 2-tops.

I ordered a salad, and he ordered a burger.  The food came out fast, and it was good - nothing spectacular, but it didn't suck either.  I think our server was actually a manager who was pitching in, and I could tell she was rusty but we didn't mind.  They did accidently put the other party of two's appetizers on our check, but they fixed it quickly and got us out of there quickly - in fact, we even made it back to the office on time for our hour lunch, which surprised me.

I think this is a good option if you're looking for something different for lunch, but you need to be prepared to wait since this seems like a popular choice for business lunches - something that shouldn't come as a surprise at any sit down restaurant in the loop during lunch.

Wow are the chairs at the bar here uncomfortable! In my klutzy condition, and after knocking back a few, I could see myself easily falling off and making a spectacle of myself in a sea of investment bankers. I went here after work on what could only be described as a wild day (rain, high winds) and so my cuteness quotient was sufficiently diminished. Even so, I got promptly seated at the bar, and the service was efficient, if not hovering. I will say that the drink that I thought was relatively puny at first turned out to pack a wallop. I will most likely be back, but you probably won't see me seated at the bar.

I've gone to One North a few times for lunch, usually getting typical lunch food (sandwiches, salads, whatnot).  It's been pretty good-- the burger is especially nice since it's topped with bacon, grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese.  But, the prices are sort of steep for an everyday lunch, so even though it's a good burger, One North was only ranking 3 stars in my book.

However, today I ventured out from the normal lunch and went big! Hazelnut crusted rainbow trout with rock shrimp on top of a corn-mushroom custard.  Extra star for you One North!  This was not your typical Loop lunch-- perfectly cooked, beautifully prepared, and the hazelnut cream sauce was so rich and decadent, I almost didn't order dessert.

If you are thinking about going to One North for lunch call 312-750-9700 right now to make a reservation!  Try and call at least a day or two ahead of time as they always book up.  If it is the day of and you are dying to go, arrive around 11:30 to get a seat in the bar area which is first come, first serve.

The food is good and the portions are large though slightly overpriced.  I usually get the Asian Salad with Seared Tuna.  I once tried the rotisserie chicken sandwich and it was very bland and dry.  But overall I would say it is an OK spot for a more upscale lunch in the loop.

We've been here several times for pre-opera dining, and I think we may take a break from One North.  Dinner this past weekend was rather disappointing.

I wish there were more options for dinner within walking distance of the Lyric Opera.  Rivers is great, and we will probably just stick there from now on.  (Sometimes when we're short on time, we eat McDonald's before the opera, which I find hilarious).

Anyways, back to One North.  Atmosphere is lovely, with lots of mahogany and classy vibes.  The bar is always hopping during weekday cocktail hour.  Service has always been just fine.

My gripe is with the food.  I've had a few good dishes here -- the porkchop with sweet potatoes is definitely one of the highlights., and most of the fish dishes and salads have been lovely.  This past weekend I ordered the bluefin tuna, which was accompanied by an eggplant caponata and polenta.  When the dish came, my first impression was...yikes.  Plating was terrible, with a big glop of what looked like mayonnaise on the side of the plate.  The tuna itself did not seem like exceptionally good quality, and it was overcooked.  The eggplant caponata on it's own had a great flavor, and the eggplant was perfectly cooked, but it just did not vibe with the tuna on top of it.  I separated them and tried to pretend it was two different dishes.  The mayonnaise glop was just gross and I tried to ignore it.  The polenta was laughable -- two tiny little tasteless squares of it on the side of the plate.  Not loving the bluefin tuna.

Fiance's short ribs (yes, he ordered short ribs at two different restaurants two nights in a row) were nearly inedible -- all fat, drenched in some sort of sauce, and served with that tasteless polenta and spinach.  Not good at all.

Not sure why, but we ordered dessert, which may have been the saving grace of the meal.  It was a chocolate and ricotta pudding that was quite yummy.  We both enjoyed the white wines we ordered, and they have quite a nice wine list.  I might return for a pre-opera drink, but from now on, we will stick to Rivers (or Mickey D's).  I was quite sad to drop a hundred bucks on such a lackluster meal.

Maybe it was an off-night, but I think this place may have gone down hill a bit in the past couple of years.  Don't think I'll be willing to take that hundred dollar gamble again -- too many other great meals can be bought with that hondo!

I had Yelped this under One North Kitchen & Bar...didn't see this one:

I only go because this is where my boss takes the team after work, his treat. The service is usually horridly slow, the mixed drinks are always just off (do not waste your time with a margarita; theirs is not good), and the food is just so-so. In all, it's an okay place to go if someone else is paying and you could do with a little post-work buzz.

As far as pricey lunches go, I prefer some other locales to One North. Their entrees could be better. I ordered the special entree for the day, and I don't think it was so special. I've heard the steak is good, and the fish looked tasty as well, though I cannot say I have tasted. As far as sandwiches and salads go they do a very nice job. Our service was average and its a very loud restaurant. I could barely hear the people at the other end.

We got right in when all other places (Nine, Lloyd's, etc.) had a wait. That technically could be a bad sign.

My first impression is that the decor is pretty cool - almost as if they were inspired by RL on Michigan.  Our server didn't seem particularly overworked, but it took her quite a while to get to us each time, and she was pretty slow on the refills.  At the prices they charge, and with the type of restaurant that this is, I'd expect the servers to have a bit better menu knowledge.
The food, however, was pretty good.  The salads are filled with fancy rabbit-type lettuce, which I don't like.  Aside from that, it took a bit longer than I would have like it to for the food to arrive.  It was very well presented, and pretty good.  Portion size was pretty reasonable for lunch, though I wasn't able to finish all of mine.
I'd go back if I was with a group that wanted to, otherwise I'd pass in favor of Nine.

i have been here a few times due to company lunches. when i'm not paying for the meal, it always seems to taste a little bit better. however, i feel that isn't the case with 1n. i feel the menu is sparse without much variety. they always seem to be out of things that are still on the menu (and you don't find out until you've already ordered). even though i'm not paying for it, i still feel guilty about it. the food is expensive and very mediocre. i feel you can get a better meal at taco fresco right next door for half the price.

A decent spot for after work cocktails. A bit on the pricy side, but the service is stellar and the crowd is obviously the corporate types.

Like the majority of reviewers said, the food here is very average.  I came here for a work lunch, and nobody raved about their meals.  We ordered everything from burgers to chops to salmon.  Sandwiches, burgers, and regular entrees range from $10-25 for lunch.  The interior is very nice - a great setting for a corporate lunch and/or happy hour.  There's an outdoor patio too that looks out onto busy Wacker Drive.  Too bad the food doesn't live up to the decor.  The service was good, but the Andes mints on your way out was sadly my favorite.

A decent place for business lunch, maybe a bit much interior compared to the food there.

Sometimes their food is fresh and I liked it, though mostly they served a bit strange.  Maybe it's not that fresh ingredient?!

Three-star means because their fries!!  I miss that crunchy and spicy fries,  with mayo!

I've been here several times for lunch and all I can muster is a... meh. It's ok in every way. I have never had anything great here. I have never had anything really shitty here. It's fine for a business lunch or if you want something better than your normal quick lunch crap in the loop. 2.5 stars... right in the middle.

Taken here for lunch the second day of my new job.  We sat on the patio, it was great on such a nice day.  I am a picky pescatarian, and was thrilled that they had so many things for me to choose from.  The flatbread was interesting, but the butter needed to be a little firmer (it fell off the knife all over my place).  I had the shrimp po'boy (rule #1: don't order a po'boy at a business lunch.  too messy.  I now have to redeem myself and show them I really do have table manners!).  The salads my co-workers had looked really good too and they seemed to enjoy them.  Pricey, I would go back if taken or for a special occasion.

I've walked by this busy lunch spot on many  occasions, but finally tried it for the first time today.  Both Elizabeth N and I had the Asian Thai salad and we were very happy with it.  It was noisy when we first walked in, but the restaurant finally started to clear out by 1:30.  It was definitely good, but I think I expected it to be better since it's always so packed with people.

Contrary to some of the other reviews, I have found the food to be pretty good and quite consistent.  I have only been here during the busy lunch rush and have never ordered anything off the wall.  Make reservations.  This place gets packed for lunch.

I didn't know of this lunch spot before, but my girlfriend works in the same building (the UBS building) and suggested it.  She also knew to make reservations, so that was handy.  We both had the chopped salad, which was fine.  The service was really good, and our food was out fast (I know - just salads, but you'd be surprised how long some places make you wait just for a salad).  I do agree that it was a bit pricey, for what we got.  All in all, an ok lunch spot.

The food is great, don't get me wrong, but this place is very, very full of itself.  I can't count the number of times I have made reservations and then waited 10 or 15 minutes for my table.  Everyone other than the wait staff, who I have the highest regards for, is rude.  This was a favorite lunch place with a lot of people at my office but has lost favor due to better, more accomodating place (n9ne, Rivers, etc.).  If you do manage to get in, their steak salad is excellent as are the gouda tater tots, can't get enough of those!!

I work at the Lyric Opera so I've been here a few times after work because of it's convienent location.  The old location was kind of hotel restaurant-ish but they just finished a fantastic renovation and the decor matches the great, but too expensive food (hence the four star rating).  I don't know if I would travel here for dinner, but it's a nice place to go if you're just looking for a quick bite; lunch comes out quickly if you're on a schedule.
