Neighborhood: Morningside / Lenox ParkFrom a funky atmosphere to a great waitstaff, I loved every element of this place. The food was perfect and the timing was always flawless on delivery. I especially appreciated that wine pours were available in different amounts (sometimes I really only want a half glass and it's rare to ever have the option). The menu ran the gambit so there were plenty of options for everyone.
What's funny is a few of the people note that the service was bad.... when I went the couple of times, it was almost impossible to think of how they could have been better. Perhaps they've gotten better?
Everything about this place was nice. The look, the service, the food....it was all good. I ordered the Steak Frites, which was good. The fries oddly enough really were the best part for me though. The desserts really impressed me. I had some kit kat like thing that was served with some ice cream. Delicious.

You know, I am a pretty nice guy, but every once in a while somebody rubs me the wrong way, and I gotta whip some azz. Note to servers: You are not above an azz whippin'.
I went to One Midtown Kitchen on part of a "restaurant tour" if you will. So we just came to really check out the place and sample the menu. The restaurant was packed, and we were greeted by a really strange/fruity guy dressed in a "cupid" outfit (if I remember correctly). He actually was really cool, and made sure we were seated pretty promptly.
Our server was rushed, and seemed to be a little bit in the weeds (had too many tables), but I used to be a server, and the way in which you handle being "in the weeds" is really indicative of how good of a server you are....so I dont have much compassion for servers that cant handle being there, because, ummmm duhhhh, maybe you should be a server.
Split a filet mignon with the thought "this has got to be a fabulous steak", when it came out was a bit smaller than I anticipated and just wasnt that impressive from a taste standpoint. Wish I could say more, but thats pretty much all we had...wish I could say I am going to continue this review the "next time" I try it, but I doubt there will be a next time.
Anyways, we used a series of discount cards with the meal, that he found a way to screw up, so we had to send the bill back 2-3 times to get corrected...and yes, I will send a damn bill back for 10% off....and yes, I do use 10% off coupons at restaurants...our server seemed a bit perturbed at me even having any discount vouchers here...my thoughts "You son a b--- if you dont get ur azz to that register and correct this bill, we are ALL going to have a problem"...
I really want to give "One" the benefit of the doubt, and just say, that was a bad day. On a good note, the space is actually pretty nice..sits on a side street that gets relatively packed due to the narrowness of the street as well as the new italian spot that sits across from One.
I am striving to end this on a personal note, but I think Ill stop here.

I ususally love concentrics restaurants, but this one was a bummer for me. Granted, I was there right before Christmas which is one of the busiest restaurant seasons, but I'm still paying full price. Keep in mind that I'm in my mid 20s when i say this, but it was so loud that conversing with the other members at my table was difficult.
Service was terrible. Our server was friendly, but she clearly had to a section that was too large to handle.
When our food FINALLY arrived, half the table's order was wrong. The food arrived at the same time to the table next to us, but they too only received half their orders. It turned out that our incorrect dishes actually belonged to the table next to us.
Now, I have worked in the restaunt business for almost a decade, and the rule is the once food is left at the table, it is dead and never can be re-served. I know for a fact that those plates left our table, went to the kitchen for one minute, and went right over the table next to us. There's no way they could still be warm.
All that aside, the food was just okay. It certainly isn't as good as the other concentrics restaunts. Although I will say that I love how they serve half size wine glasses which is perfect for me. I'm not going to rush back any time soon. I'd rather get a good take out.

I had my doubts upon entering between the outdoor-purple walls , however they were all washed away over the course of my night here.
This is one of the most unique decors I've ever seen in a restaurant. They did an extremely good job in designing this space - from tiny personal candles at the sit/eating bar, to dangling vertical light bulbs (something you have to see for yourself) throughout the restaurant).
The food was nothing short of awesome. Everyone in my party ordered fish, but man I saw so many orders of that Steak Frite dish coming from the kitchen, I was tempted to get an additional order of that. I myself got the halibut and it was prepared excellently on top of the most delicious risotto I've ever had. My mom got Salmon wrapped in an unusual dough (looks like shredded wheat, but texture is like Phyllo), and that was the most average of the bunch. The shining star was the Tuna Steak. My brother ordered it rare, marinated in Worcestershire sauce atop roasted potatoes and broccoli. It was incredible! Prepared perfectly.
I would say the dessert here was just average although my brother really loved the creme brule.
Make this a destination for the next nice occasion you have planned, the atmosphere alone will impress your party.

Have you ever watch When Harry Met Sally? The part where Sally did the fake orgasm in the restaurant because they were arguing about how you can't tell if a woman's faking it? LOL, that was my moment at One Midtown Kitchen when I had their goat cheese appetizer. Luckily, I'm still able to come back because they haven't said anything so far! LOL

Three stars for a martini on a very empty stomach which gave me a sufficient case of "I don't care" attitude thus allowing me to hungrily, and somewhat happily, woof down the mediocre-ish food. I tried a couple stinky cheeses, chicken liver pate and the mussels, followed by room temperature steak frites and a tasty banana tart. (Note: I don't "do" liver, hate it actually, but the pate was yummy). The atmosphere was nice and the service was good, still I doubt I'll ever go back.

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while now. It's a great atmosphere, it would be perfect for a date. It's kind of in a strange tucked away spot but it works.
They have a pretty extensive wine list where you can get a bottomless glass of each group of some of their wines. They also have several drink specials on the walls which consisted of about 10 martinis.
I had one of the pizzas which was great and only $10 so I thought it was well worth the price. We also had the calamari, which were a little weird, they were more like strips and had some honey sauce on them, they kinda tasted like chinese food. But all in all this is a great spot.

My meals have never disappointed and the service has always been exceptional. I love places in ATL where you see all types of people: gay midtowners, black professionals, young & old couples, girls night outers...great spot. My friend and I love the goat cheese appetizer - it's an awesome grown up grilled cheese. It's all plated beautifully and looks a bit frou frou, but when you eat it you're satisfied with the money you've spent. What more do you want in a date spot or special night dinner?

Each time I head to One Midtown Kitchen for dinner, I'm excited before I ever reach the door. I see the Lavender glow from the building as I drive in and I smell that wonderful wood burning oven as soon as I step out of the car. Yeah, it's good.
My newest discovery? OMK recently started wine dinners. Five to six courses each paired with a wine and, of course, you have the opportunity to learn all about those wines you taste. They were creative with the courses from what I remember - not necessarily all things you would see on the regular menu. It was fun!

I have been to One Midtown twice now and I love it. Last night we sat in the bar and the crowd was fun and lots of good people watching. We split two appetizers, the calamari and the grilled shrimp. Both were excellent! However there were only three shrimp so not a good one for sharing.
I like the entree selections. A nice variety of dishes with interesting preparations. I had the Steak Frites which I enjoyed. Personally I would prefer a different side than fries, but they were fine.
As noted by others, a terrific wine list. Last night I stayed with Scotch and they have a good selection as well.
Our waitress was very good. Even with the bar area packed, she checked on us regularly without rushing us. One Midtown is a good place to bring out of town guests as well as a date or just to meet friends. If you haven't been, give it a try.

There's really not a lot to add to the reviews of this place. Not a bad place by any means -- dim lighting, dark woods, trendy music with well dressed wait-staff.
I found the food good and worth the price... I've had mostly steak, fish, and frittes hear... but I've enjoyed the appetizers thoroughly.
The downside is that I find the place a bit generic in terms of "trendy dimly lit restaurants"... So it's not a place that I want to "go back to". But if you've a large party, and that's the kind of venue they like... one could do much worse!

Went to One Midtown Kitchen for a friends birthday today. It's been about 2 years, since the last time I have been here and all I can say is that nothing really has changed. The food was ok and service could have been better. I was surprised that the staff didn't do anything special or say happy birthday to my friend, especially since the reservations were clearly under "Birthday Party for Thomas." It's too bad...since it was his first and probably last time he will ever go there.
The only ups I could give were the drinks. The drink names were fun and original and the presentation was nice when it arrived to the table. Of course I got excited over the One American Idol! Not only is it my usual drink when I go out (Red Bull and Vodka), but it reminded me of my audition this past August when they came to Atlanta! [You'll have to tune in this season to see how far I got into the competition. :) ]
Anyways, it will probably be another 2 years until I come back here again.

Tapas.. great atmosphere..
when I went I ate something that had cucumer ice cream on it.. sounds weird.. but it was awesome..
worth the cash..
This is by FAR my favorite Restaurant in Atlanta. Actually, I enjoy all of the restaurants in this family of eateries (Concentric restaurant Group is the name i think)... I visited most recently 2 weeks ago. I always start with the calamari and ginger ale. The Calamari is a tad thick, but the sauce is divine!. The pizzas are superb. The lamb is Scrumptious as is the steak. The macaroni with truffles is a tad strong for my taste, but my mom loved it! And of course the BEAUTY of the experience was the $25 coupon (yes! a coupon for $25 to ONE... can you believe it?:-) that was attached to the parking ticket from TWO Urban Licks the prior week when I dined there... And THAT is why I love this family of restaurants!!! plus the ambiance and food are just deLISH!!!

I came here a couple of years ago on Mothers Day for their Mothers Day brunch and it was greaaaaaaaaat. I honestly couldn't tell you what I ate but I know it was delish.
I went the other day with family (who, might I add, was paying), so I indulged -- just so I could write a great review for you, yelp! (Or it could have been because I didn't have to pull out my debit card :) It was a Thursday evening and the place was packed -- mostly smaller parties with a couple of large parties sprinkled throughout.
The bread/hummus they bring out upon seating is excellent...I especially like the breadsticks. We ordered several appetizers and I enjoyed them all -- calamari, grilled shrimp, beef stroganoff (I didn't have any room on my plate for this one, but my family liked it) and the riscotti croquettes...really, really good! They look like fat mozzarella cheesesticks...but they surely don't taste anything like them.
I love the lighting in the bathroom! Seriously, I almost took a picture...lol.
My entree was the salmon with couscous and greek yogurt. and parmesan herb fries. I must say the salmon had an interesting taste (as did the parmesan herb fries but they were good), but I liked it. I don't think I would order it again though. I really like salmon by itself, with maybe a little bit of sauce on the side. The couscous and greek yogurt threw me off a little bit, but I am always willing to try something new!
I had to sweeten my own tea :-(
For dessert, one of my cousins ordered the chocolate truffle cake and my other cousin ordered the banana bread pudding. Both were delish, but I absolutely LOVE chocolate so the chocolate truffle cake wins.
I want to try the snapper. But, really, I'm just trying to get back for the Mothers Day brunch.

Concentrics restaurants are more concerned about the scene than the menu. Overrated? One Midtown is a pea in the Concentrics machine pod. One Midtown can pass for a first date sitting at their bar, as a saving grace is some decent smashed grape and small plates for small talk.
Forget the dressy vote, casual is the way as in most ATL restaurants.

Okay so a little mixed on this place...
Must say I lov the fact they have half glasses which helps!
One..in big groups theres always that one"nondrinker" or "nonspender" who doesnt want to break a twenty to eat...granted..
So a half glass can run you $3.00 up to I cant remember, but the start is great! Full glass can start at 5.00
The lamb was tasty and so was the salmon......(off friends dish)
My tuna was so/so...
Oh did I mention im an event planner, but a concierge as well?
So if I come off detailed you know why!
:)
The lamb was an appetizer and the portion more than generous for ten bucks!
Overall I would go back, it was slightly noisy, but fun

I absolutely love this restaurant and bar. The scene is fantastic. The bar and the restaurant were both crowded with stylish ITPers. The layout and ambiance are great as well. The menu has some vegetarian options. The food was very good and prepared well. The french fries and calamari are excellent. The wine list is also very goo - wide variety and wide price range. I don't recommend the dessert cheeses - some people probably love them, but no one in my group did. I'd love to go back and try the wine pairing and bottomless glass deal. . .

I'd been here a couple other times for drinks in the past, but forgot about this part: as you drive down Dutch Valley to get here, just look for the glowing violet exterior and walk through the curtain to get to the belly of the restaurant.
The main dining room was still filled to capacity (just like Lauren S mentioned, I wasn't sure if One. was not going to become the forgotten first child after Two and Twois appeared). It has modern, dark decor, feels a bit glittery, and it seems like they must've hired some sort of lighting guru/specialist, because its very flattering (for the people and the interior of the restaurant, too.) There's a big row of booths that seat at least eight or so people, so that's a good option if you have a large group.
We were seated in the back dining room, which had a completely different vibe. It was a lot brighter and quieter - lots of smaller tables filled with people on dates.
All the food is contemporary American, and if you need to take someone to dinner that likes more classic fare, this will fit the bill. I didn't get the signature frites, but chose the very classic sounding surf and turf - but the steak had a barbecue-like sauce with a surprising flavor. Entrees run from around $15 - 30.
They also have the bottomless glass of wine that other yelpers mentioned, and there's also a three course Sunday meal for $25.

I was worried when Two opened that this place would go downhill and would fail to have the same fun atmosphere and good food it originally delivered. Wrong. The only thing different is that it's a tad easier to get a table on a weekend as long as you call and make a reservation.
I've visited this place on multiple occasions, for dates, girls nights out, and for my birthday. My experience has always been top notch - great food, wonderful service, and a free birthday desert of my choice, along with candles!
They also have bottomless glasses of wine for a ridiculously reasonable price. BOTTOMLESS GLASSES OF WINE?! Sold.

This place came as a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. Great food (as you can see from the other reviews) and wines galore, but the best thing about this place is that you can enjoy the, for lack of a better word, "hip" vibe and never be suffocated by pretension. No one comes up to your table assuming you want sparkling water -- everyone from the hostess to the knowledgeable wait staff is chill and down to earth. If only I could have transported this experience to the majority of "hip" places back in California...

You smell the smoke from the wood-fired oven when you walk in -- and it is sure to get your appetite going. I've eaten here 3 times and most dishes have been great. The pizzas are tasty, with thin, crunchy crusts. One real miss is the much-hyped calamari - seemingly lengthwise slices (rather than rings) from VERY large calamari -- the thickness means the flabbily-chewy interior overwhelms the crispy exterior. The waiters will try to push it on you -- eat your own risk. Only disappointment overall, though.

There's definitely still a buzz at this place judging by the always busy dining room. Cool and elegant atmosphere, quality food, but the overcrowding and service keeps it from getting give stars for me.
The food has always been great and consistently pleasing for me. The hanger steak and frites is good, although it's a mountainous portion of frites in comparison to a relatively small steak. The service deteriorates the busier they get. They will also jam about two or three too many people into a table when they're busy. Be prepared to be VERY close to your table mates if you have more than two people in your party.
This place was also the site of my favorite random overheard conversation in the last year. As my group was leaving we got to witness a Buckhead Betty in the making have a meltdown at the front door. No clue what caused it, but this early 30 something woman started going off on someone who had slighted her as they left. Quote at the top of her lungs: "I drive a Mercedes! I live in a two million dollar house! I don't have to take this from you!" I broke down and started crying I was laughing so hard. Which didn't really make her any less angry.

You can count on a unique location when it comes to this restaurant group. One Midtown Kitchen sits on Dutch Valley road which is right behind Piedmont Park and what appear to be railroad tracks. How they found this building is beyond me, but once inside the eclectic energy rich place grabs hold of you. The focus seems to be more on modern presentation than it is on wowing you with the taste of the menu items. Don't get me wrong, the food is pleasing to the palette but it is a combination of atmosphere and aliments that make this a top restaurant pick with both hometown folks and out of town visitors. A little secret that even some frequent diners might not know is that One will close down from time to time to play host to urban hipster parties and events. There is also a room in the back that is used for private parties and dinners.
The "steak fries" main dish is incredible- just order it. I still think about that plate often, and I am a man who loves his steaks. The ambiance matches the quality of the food. Even though it was packed during our meal, it didn't feel like that after we sat down. The lights that hang from the ceiling create a great effect that help distinguish One Midtown Kitchen from other restaurants. Having said that, you can certainly tell it's owned by the same people as Two Urban Licks because of how much thought and money went into the design. Picking my favorite between the two would be extremely difficult and each one has earned my business for another dinner.
I just finished dinner here. Service was good. Per the other yelp user reviews I ordered the steak frites with blue cheese. It was okay. I have been spoiled lately with very high quality steaks though....
We ordered the lamb ribs appetizer. I thought that this was quite tasty. If you are not too hungry I think this is the right portion size for your meal. At $10 it's not too hard on the wallet either.
I felt that the food was a bit salty. It was still edible but perhaps they could cut down on how much salt they use in their marinades...
We shared the kit kat dessert bar that is served with curry ice cream and peanut butter sorbet. We ordered it because we were curious about the curry ice cream. The curry ice cream was a hit and the kit kat bar was pretty good too.
Stay away from the first dessert wine (the one that is $3/half glass). I think it was a Moscato... It has a really bad aftertaste.
Would I return? Perhaps for the lamb appetizer as my meal and to get sloshed with the bottomless wine option.

Bottomless wine. What else is there to know? Oh, and the bathrooms are wild, which you will see lots of if you are consuming the bottomless wine.
For all the hype, this place still cranks out great food.
The atmosphere is cool and elegant. Our charcuterie plate appetizer and oysters on the half shell were delicious and fresh. The shellfish roast was absolutely divine.
The "bottomless wine glass" pricing is fair and a great opportunity to try out different types of wine.
I have to say, the two times I went here I was less than impressed. The interior is busy and fussy, and the wait staff can be a little impatient and direct, which can be misconstrued as rude. The food is okay, but they have a menu that consists of a lot of "urban" food, which means, for the picky eater, you are stuck with a hamburger or something plain. Being someone that doesn't like to pay too much for food, especially "weird food", I didn't like that the prices were definitely on the high end.
One main saving grace, is the pretty cheap bottomless wine, which was like $9, I think. The only problem, is getting a bitchy waiter who doesn't realize how quickly, and how much wine you can drink.
I try to judge a place on the positives. This place is cool, the atmosphere is great, the wine list is very user friendly and offers some great values. It goes down hill from here. We sent back our mussels as they were extremely fishy and probably past their freshness date. Other appetizers we tried were blah at best including a poached pear with bleu cheese and candied almonds. Strangely the pair was served warm. 45 minutes later we were served our entrees. I had the braised lamb shank that could have used about 30 more minutes in the pot as it was tough and flavorless. Another picky point but part of the art of cooking lamb is to remove the silver skin fat layer before cooking. Instead it was left on and this stringy and tough layer had to be disected by me at the table. My companions had the hanger steak and fries. The mound of fries was cold, and the few scattered under cooked steak pieces were so pathetic looking on top them. I keep going back to One and to its sister restaurant Two as many of my friends plan birthday celebrations and other occasions there. I am utterly dissapointed each and every time. I want to like these places, I really do--but they need to tighten up the menu preparations, service, and overall experience for their guests. I mus tbe crazy, because this place is busy every night. I suspect much of the restaurant's short comings is due to the high volume they do, but other busy restaurants around town seem to handle it.
