The people I was working for reserved this hotel for Indy and made it sound to be one of the top places to stay in INDY. Perhaps that's why I was disappointed?

The rooms were small to standard size. I felt crowded between my boyfriend and our stuff. Could of used a lil more room.

The pillow cases and blankets looked but did not smell clean. YIKES.  Bathroom was a bit small for my taste with a tiny tub. Bummed because the long days at the track required baths to help my feet recover from being in heels all day.

Room service charges were a lil much. Automatic 20% gratuity charge applied if you take the $4.00 bag of m&ms.

The tv was an average old school  tv with poor quality. I literally couldn't read some of the titles of the movies selections to rent-fortunately the movie/show quality was better.

I'm happy it was quiet-last years stay was a nightmare because of noise.

It was comfortable but nothing special. They try their best but sorry champagne in the lobby isn't gonna do anything to change the room which is the most important part.

The Omni Severin in the heart of downtown Indy has a great location, friendly and helpful staff and is my home away from home when visiting Indy.  I enjoy getting out and walking around the center of this beautiful city and can do so easily from here. The rooms are clean and functional. The lobby is open, friendly, and functional. I'll be back the next time I'm up there for business or pleasure

Omni,
We need to talk.

You swept me off my feet with your great location and reputation. I was so excited to have my friends and family meet you at the wedding reception. I know that an average sized wedding can be a little intimidating but I really don't feel how you acted was fair. I mean, the rooms were booked months in advance with a 3pm check in, and when we got there at 5pm they were still dirty. Your "buddy" at the front desk wasn't very helpful either. Granted he did finally offer a drink coupon for the inconvenience of waiting an extra 45 minutes for our room to be cleaned, but they way you talked up the staff, I just expected more. I can overlook my room not being ready, but when you messed up the room of the parents of the bride, my parents, my cousins and my friends from Chicago, I started to have second thoughts about us. Maybe we moved too fast.

Were you upset because I chose to valet the car? I told you I am no good with directions and I do not regret paying to park because they couldn't tell us how to get to the back lot. Pointing at a building and saying "thatta way" doesn't count. No. It doesn't. And it most certainly is not a reason to give people faulty key cards so they can't get into their rooms.
Listen, I am trying to be fair. I know there were things out of your control. I know you had no idea that there would be a million cheerleaders in town that weekend wreaking havoc on the elevators. Or that you would not have hot water on any floor above three for a good few hours...

Take care of yourself Omni. I just don't think it's going to work. I've met someone who knows how to treat a girl. His name is Conrad.

My stay at the Omni was death by a thousand cuts.  Stressed out staff, rooms not ready at 5pm, dirty laundry in the halls way past 5pm, small rooms, key cards not working, valet staff not helpful in directing us to self-parking (be forewarned, if you from out of town and don't know where to go for parking - valet parking is $25 a day)...  I think you're getting the picture.

On the plus side... beds were comfy and the location is downtown.

Never again, Omni.

Recently attended a wedding here...

5 stars for the wedding set up, the wedding, the atmosphere, the valet parking

1 star for the bartender "bill" who carded me (which I left my id in my valet parked car) and was a complete asshole... let me start by saying, I hate children who under age drink, you are waste to society.. I am 24 years old and look older than that thanks to smoking and drinking. YOU don't have to be a prick about.

I am in the industry, I understand carding people, no problem... no id no alcohol I was completely fine with that. I was not fine with him being a complete jerk, I made a joke about my mom was with me and I am sure she would vouch for me, he proceeded to let me know that he would take away my parties alcohol if that were to happen... ok buddy. But get this, he serves both of my YOUNGER sisters without carding them?

So the bartender next to him was not carded, I got in his line, ordered a glass of wine and was served. x2. There you go Bill.

Planning a conference trip is always an exercise in anxiety for me, knowing how much money I'm going to need to spend on conference registration, sub-par food, ridiculous hotel prices, and outrageous airfares. Since I was going to be chilling in downtown Indianapolis by myself, the conference $130-160 hotel rates were pretty steep. I decided to try http://Priceline.com just for the heckuvit. Cha-ching! Four nights at the Omni Severin, one of the conference hotels, for $87/night!

Upon arrival at the airport, I took the "Indy Go" (cute name) Green Line shuttle, which provides express service to downtown hotels for $7. The Omni was the shuttle's first stop. Prepared to get stuck in an $87 second-story closet over the boiler room/kitchen/bar, or next to a construction site, I was happily surprised to be placed on the 8th floor, in a room with a bit of a view, room to walk around, and a cozy king-size bed. A good friend stayed in the same hotel, had to pay the regular rates, and wasn't so lucky, getting a queen size bed in a much smaller room. If you find this piece of info helpful for upcoming reservations, #855 was the bigger room, and  #422 was the smaller one.

The bathroom was immaculately clean, and my only peeve was leaky faucets, forcing me to relocate all my toiletries to keep them dry. I did report the faucet problem, so hopefully someone will fix them. I did not use the room service, but the typical $10 bagel and juice, among other expensive breakfast options, were advertised on the nightstand. Skip that, give yourself extra time in the morning, and walk 15 minutes to Cafe Patachou on, I think, Capitol and Washington.

There was a tempting tray of goodies on the desk, but $3.50 for a Clif Nectar bar kept me away. Glad I stuffed some Trader Joe's dried fruit & nuts in my bag before I left home. If you're looking for snack food, there's a CVS drugstore at 105 E. Ohio, about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. A coffee pot, along with caffeinated and decaf Wolfgang Puck coffee are in the room. A nice touch were the paper cups with lids, so I could take my beverage with me on my way out. Weekday copies of USA Today newspaper were also waiting outside my door every morning.

The Omni also provides wi-fi service. Upon trying to go online, the default splash page provides three choices for access, one of which includes a $9.95 per day charge, and the other two read as if you need to pay for a membership to get the wi-fi. I called "Blake" at the front desk, and the good man told me if I selected the second option on the page, I wouldn't have to pay. I did select the second option, didn't pay, and wasn't billed.

Staff were very friendly, and always had answers to my questions.

Check-out was a breeze, and the Indy-Go Green Line airport shuttle stop was located across the street, past the valet service.

I had my out of town guests and wedding party stay here. My husband and I even reserved a room for our wedding night before we left for our honeymoon. They gave me a great rate for guests to reserve a room. They had a block of rooms set aside for people to reserve by a particular date.

On my wedding day they held ours and our wedding parties luggage until we checked in after the wedding. As we arrived that night they all checked us in without a problem. However, I had a little prank pulled on me. Still not sure who set this up but they played along with it. When I got to our room, I saw it was a basic room. I was really sad and called downstairs to ask what happened. They said they gave away our room on accident but would clean one up quickly because someone checked out early. So I sat in this room for 15 mins, still confused as to what happened. I get a knock at the door and it was the women who checked us all in. She said, come on let me take you to your real room. When we arrived to the room it said presidential suite. She then said congratulations and enjoy your stay. I went into the room to find the entire wedding party in our room to continue with an after party. I screamed to see how awesome that room was AND to have my friends sharing that moment with me. Later I was informed they put me in the regular room to keep me occupied until my party got to the room to surprise me. The Omni upgraded us to the presidential suite from the suite we reserved because it was our wedding night. We all had great views from the balcony and enjoyed having a few drinks until I kicked everyone out. :o) lol.

Fabulous hotel, friendly staff and great location downtown.

Stayed here for 4 nights on a recent business trip. The location is right downtown, close to restaurants, the convention center, the new Colts stadium, the Capital building and more. Limo ride (shared) from the airport ran about $13 plus tip and took about 10-15 minutes.

The room I stayed in was a nice size and very clean. King bed, work desk with lamp, tv (older tube type, not flat screen), chair with ottoman. The bathroom was nice sized and my faucet leaked on the cold water side whether on or off. I must have been in a basketball player's room because the tub was sunk about 6 inches in the floor and the shower head was on an extension rod and was about 6 inches above my head at 6-ft 1-in.

I didn't eat at the restaurant, Hot Tuna. I did have a couple of drinks at the bar next to Hot Tuna and had breakfast daily at the 40 West coffee bar. Beware - it's pretty busy at 40 West with the breakfast rush between 8 and 9 AM.

Our rate was $99/night.

They made it all easy - circle drive, the baggage handlers, the concierge, valets - even with our then four-month-old baby, we moved about with total ease.  The room was large and our older one had plenty of room to play on the floor and run around.  Great wi-fi service.  Nice pool.  And best of all, water pressure in the shower that beat us senseless.

It's in an area with a lot of conference activity, so plenty of restaurants, shopping and entertainment a short walk away.

Their lobby will get your hopes up, but when you get to your room you'll realize that this is a glorified Ramada. Clean rooms, old TVs, noisy A/C and half-ass remodeled bathrooms (marble floors, and tiled bathtub circa 1980). And why does it take 5 minutes for the hot water to get going? They also offer self-parking and if you have a rental car it will cost you $23 a night to valet. Their restaurant is pretty generic, the people working the front desk were nice, and their operator will offer a backup wake up call for you... just in case.

This hotel is in a great location and attached to the Circle Center Mall and all the other hotels and convention center downtown (I was here for a conference).
Rooms are large and the bed is super cozy. If you join their member network, you receive complimentary hot beverages in the morning and free wireless internet, along with other rewards.
Staff was friendly and accomodating and the hotel is in good shape, and very clean.
My big issue was the food - it just was so sub-par. Room service should be a treat... not something that gives you indigestion.
Despite my mixed feelings I do not believe I would stay here again.

Great location since it's connected to the mall with a LOT of shopping plus it's right down the street from 2 clubs (like 0.1 miles walking distance). Can't get better than that. The rooms are clean and the customer service desk is helpful. They will make it right if it is not right and even comped my room twice. There is also a bar downstairs, but I have never bothered to drink there since I go to Tiki Bob's or Have a nice day cafe instead. They have valet parking which can be a good thing or bad thing depending on your point of view. The fee for valet is about $20 a day though. Parking is a bish to find otherwise. The only downside is that the building is older and no lcd tv's.

My wife and I just returned from a New Year's Eve French Kiss package stay at the Omni Severin and it is safe to say they have the friendliest staff of any hotel we have ever visited. Although attentiveness is often the norm with this caliber of hotel, the Omni Severin was a standout for the overall sincerity of its staff. From management to front desk personnel to wait staff to the valet team, their genuine interest in feedback and the proactive way they sought it out made us feel truly welcome and valued. My wife and I felt so engaged and were given such special consideration, particularly by Massey, the Food and Beverage Manager that we can't wait to come back even if just for the good will that their evident standard of true service inspired.

Of course the rooms were clean and comfortable in the four star tradition in terms of décor and crisp, white sheets on a king sized bed and all the toiletries in a sizeable bathroom. And my wife certainly appreciated the walk-in closet complete with robes for two, but the Severin proved to offer a lot more than simply an ideal, pristine space to sleep. When my wife and I arrived for New Year's Eve dinner in the gorgeously ornate Severin Lobby and Ballroom, we felt even more pampered than we could have anticipated after check in. Worthy of particular notice is the chef, Anthony Armstrong, for his delicious French cuisine that was spotlighted at our NYE celebration. There was a warm sense of community among all the patrons as the emceed event included a short speech by Anthony regarding his sojourn among the French countryside and palate which we all savored heartily in both liquid and solid form. My favorites were the brie pastries with jam, though the entire meal was a formidable treat. Although we all got a small bottle of champagne with the meal, one miniscule suggestion would be to have included at least one complimentary glass of red or white wine with the dinner as it was French themed in the package. We'd of course have been willing to have paid more if added to the package total up front so we wouldn't have to worry about additional transactions later, but this was such a comparatively minor issue compared to the overall experience which was nothing short of spectacular.

Before and after the meal, we enjoyed music and an open bar in the ballroom which was an elegant, gorgeous venue for the traditional New Year's Eve countdown. Although the ambiance was thankfully a far cry from the cramped and noisy club and DJ scene we had already grown tired of, the Severin did add some trendy twists with a mélange of Franco-American movies on widescreen accompanied by a musical guitar/bongo duo playing classic rock fare in offbeat lounge renditions. Occasionally, I'd hear the first half of a soulful acoustic ballad only to realize later we were listening to none other than Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower so the hotel entertainment staff deserves kudos for some courageous yet original choices that probably would have struck fear in the hearts of less dynamic hotels.

So we counted down to the New Year with more complimentary champagne, more music, good company, party favors, even a garter belt lottery for a free trip to Vegas and by the time 2009 was in its early stages we were ready to head back to our comfy room. The next morning, also included, was a buffet breakfast in the Hot Tuna restaurant. I suppose the Severin could have settled for a standard buffet or continental breakfast with the package, but the spread was replete with fresh fruit, unimaginably light and sweet pastries, bagels, cereal, cheeses, cold cuts, and all the hot breakfast items including personalized omelets which you must absolutely try with the spiced, ground sausage if you are so prone. After being more than sated in the belly, the checkout was so fast and effortless with the pleasant last impressions rivaled only by the first, we started asking ourselves why in the heck we were leaving anyway. Well, we'll be back soon. They've got our email address for the next event. Hmmm, maybe Valentine's Day?

My husband and I stayed here one crummy winter to have a little night-out-on-the-town. It is in a very great location in the middle of downtown - close to restaurants and bars. Rooms are little outdated - but were clean. A little pricey - but that is what you get for downtown I guess.
