This is a very nice hotel, joined to the CNN center. We stayed here a few weeks ago for 2 reasons.... its SO close to the GA DOME!!! and we were in town to c the Falcons... took us only a few minutes to walk there!! And they allow pets for a one time $50 fee... not bad considering I pay like $30 a night if I have to board them. The Olympic park is close by and great for walks... great hotel for dogs.
Very nice rooms too!
My only complaint.... they only served Starbucks coffee.. now if you know anything about coffee you know this stuff tastes like burnt ass! I expect better coffee in such a nice hotel.

You really can't get any closer to the convention center than the Omni! I had a room in the North Tower facing the pool. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, huge shower, and I never heard any noise at night. I spent some time at the Omni bar with the 55+ tradeshow crowd and all my free drinks were great :) The bell hops and service people were helpful & attentitive- my only complaint would be the amount of times I had to answer my door for cleaning, etc. at 9 in the morning when I was trying to get ready.

I'd def stay here again if I had business to take care of at the CNN Center.

I can't say enough about this hotel.  I spent 10 days here for a conference that we planned and every step of hte way the staff was phenomenal.  The attention to detail from everyone (even the housekeepers) was great.  I was just back a second time and it reaffirmed my belief in them.  Really, there isn't any other option for me to stay at in Atlanta.  They are within a 5 minute walk to anything you want to see in Downtown Atlanta.  Both times I stayed in the North Tower (newer side) and I know that is the "better" side but being on the CNN side has it's advantages too since those rooms have balconies.

They made a mistake with what I had reserved, so instead of making it hard on me, they upgraded me to a suite.  FANCY!  And the maids were really nice and very detailed.

OK, to start off we are huge fans of Omni and this trip puts us into their top tier loyalty program.  With that being said, we stayed in the North tower which is the newer one, but the furniture was all beat up and it was the most dusty hotel I have ever slept in.  The maid service was half-ass.  We never even received additional toiletries and were there 5 nights.  They would only empty the trash every once in a while.  The service in the bar was non existent on 2 separate occasions.  I have never noticed so many employees looking to get tipped.  If this was our first Omni experience, we would not return.

you'd give it 5 stars too if you were coming from the Byron Comfort Inn.  I liked the fact they gave my little girl a little backpack w/toys and left cookies and milk for the kids when they turned down the room.
They gave us a movie for free since their OnDemand was trippin'.  Their beds were hella hard though.

Stayed here for a conference last December. It's right next door to the convention center, as well as being right next (okay, a tiny walk) from the Coke Museum and Olympic Park. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do much touristy stuff, but they looked pretty!

As for the Omni Hotel, the staff were all very professional and friendly. There was a tray stacked with cookies and other sweets right next to the check-in (I raided that thing every morning as a pseudo-breakfast).

However, I can't say I was very impressed by the rooms. They feel more cramped than they should be for the price, as well as being a bit dated. The toilet, for example, looked pretty old school. Beds were relatively comfortable, although the pillows were a bit wanting. I was able to use the gym - it got the job done, and I was even able to take the sauna for a quick spin.

You'd think for the price you'd get free internet, but as NYT's Pogue has remarked, there's an inverse relationship between hotel price and free internet. The Omni was no exception. Reflecting this gouge them for all they're worth attitude, they charged for my using the ice bucket. Oh Omni, you're like the girl who thinks she's all that, but really, you're like the rest of the pack.

This is another great Atlanta hotel. I've stayed here when working on events and have interacted with just about every level of staff. The hotel has two wings called the North and South tower. I think my preference is for the South, or older tower, primarily because those rooms have balcony's or indoor terraces that overlook the hotel's peaceful atrium. The North tower, while newer and host tot he workout facility, seems to have smaller rooms. If you are at this hotel for events, it is most likely that they will be over in the North Tower. Breakfast is good at the downstairs restaurant and it is good place to grab a drink after a long day of seminars at Georgia World Congress Center.

Prices are usually reasonable and you can find this hotel on some of the major travel websites.

Fine.  Good views of ATL, decent color palate for the room.  Kinda cool to be in the Starbucks line behind CNN news anchors, complete w/make-up + mics/ear pieces all over.  The concierge was very helpful not in recommending places, but helping us figure out the best way to get to the places we'd found on Yelp.

First of all, the Omni Hotel I experienced great customer service. A friend got a room on Priceline & didn't need it, so I bought it for a cheap $50. I would have paid far more for what we got.

Checking in, I noticed a huge crowd, & commented to the concierge. She referenced some conference in town. I politely asked since this was a romantic getaway, if she could put me in a higher room, I would be very appreciative. She smiled, handed me the key, & I got a floor in the high 20s.

I won't even start about the outdoor heated pool, the spa, the swank furniture, or the views.

It's connected to CNN Center, so you can walk right through without going inside. It's across from Centennial Olympic Park, & next to Marta. Highly convenient. The views are fantastic, regardless of which side you're on. We faced away from the city, but it was still gorgeous.

The hotel lounge is fun & relaxed, unlike what you find at most swank hotels.

This hotel can be found cheap on http://Priceline.com.  It was nice having the Marta station located at the hotel.  This made getting around the city super easy.  There are a few stores located in the hotel and also a food court.  You can even tour CNN news studios.  However when we were staying the tv evangelist Joel Osteen was doing a show in the coliseum.  There were thousands of people everywhere.  It was really hard to get around and use the elevators or eat in the food court.  My husband and I thought that BIlly Joel was there.  HA!  I never saw so many people with bibles in one place.

My employer hooked employees up for the night here so we wouldn't have to go back home during the Southeast "snowstorm."  I didn't have to pay for the room, and luckily! I wouldn't stay here again. I, and several of my co-workers were put in a room facing the inside of the hotel where it was very noisy.  Make sure you ask for a room that faces the outside, or you'll have to hear everyone in the hallways.  A teenager's birthday party and a wedding, I think, were going on.  It was 20 degrees outside, but the thermostat in my room would only go to 71- and it ran all night.  I was freezing!  Plus I woke up this morning with the worst back ache.  I never get back aches!  The bed was not a W dream bed, that's for sure.  The outside of the hotel and the lobby look very dingy and run down. The inside of the room was nice, except for the outlets look like fire hazards. They also didn't even offer complimentary coffee for breakfast, nor a muffin - nothing!  I do like the fact they give you a hair dryer, cotton balls, and q-tips.  I also like how every room has a "patio" facing the court.  It was also nice getting to sleep in, since it literally took me 3 minutes to walk over to my desk!

Went to an event here last night - what a cluster!  First of all, check to see if there are any events going on at Philips Arena, the Georgia World Congress Center, Centennial Park, etc. and add one hour to your transportation time for each activity.  I live 5 miles away and left my house at 5:30 for a 6 p.m. event.  Let's just say I was more than fashionably late.  The hotel parking was "full except for registered guests" so I was directed to "the deck around the corner" which was $20!  NOT.  So I did a little exploring and a lot of driving and found an $8 lot.  Oh, and there's a North Tower to the hotel which is actually across the street from the main hotel.  That's nice to know when you are walking a mile in an LBD without a coat because you thought you were going to valet.  Once inside was no better.  No signage for our event.  Concierge not familiar.  There were 400 people attending - you'd think one or two people had asked before me.  TWO bartenders for our whole group.  The lines were crazy.  And then, they ran out of glasses!  The bartender, who was insanely slow but maybe because she was also taking cash and making drinks, actually just walked away from the bar to go get glasses leaving us all wondering if she would return.  Dinner was okay.  Service in the ballroom was the only good thing of the night - friendly folks.  I would not hold an event here though - your guests will likely be unhappy as I was.
