My husband and I stayed in an Omni for our honeymoon so for our one year anniversary I surprised him by booking a room at our local Omni.  I am such a good wife.  My plan was to recreate our Montreal shindig with an Omni stay, some crepe eating, fake tourist sight seeing and later beer and french fries.  It all turned out perfectly and I really have the Omni Hotel to thank for that.  We checked in and felt all fancy and bourgeois because their lobby is gorgeous and luxurious.

When asked where we were from and the reason for our stay I explained our situation and the lovely front desk attendant said she'd make sure we got a really nice room.  Oh man did we ever! It was a corner room with a little hallway that led into the room and it was gorgeous.  Our view was amazing and the decor was top notch. About ten minutes after we checked in we heard a knock at the door, we were presented with a congratulatory bottle of comped champagne and a note from the Omni's loyalty ambassador.  Rock! Seriously I felt like we were rockstars or in a movie.

The bed and linens are the most comfortable thing you will ever sleep in.  It makes me want to go out and buy all new expensive linens.  The rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions and fancy Bose alarm clocks.  The rooms are also friggin' huge and generally including a sitting area with a loveseat and a desk. For the size of the rooms and the excellent staff you really get a great deal.  We intend to always search for Omni's when traveling now.

Our bathroom was also huge and housed this weird mirror that gives you super creepy eyes but the lighting is wicked flattering.  Our only peeve was that the shower was broken.  Only half of the water coming out of the faucet made it to the shower attachment, the rest kept draining from the bathtub fixture.  We let them know on the way out and from what I can tell about their staff they probably got right on it.

We didn't get to check out the pool or restaurant but we now intend to spend most of our anniversaries enjoying all of the amenities that encompass the Omni Hotel.

The elevator smells like the indoor pool and the room service is not 24hrs. They took forever to bring me pillows not containing feathers!

For the price stay elsewhere!

I stood here during the summer of 08, and this place is amazing.
I booked online with expedia got a great price for a fantastic hotel, paid like 60 a night.
The room was BIG, had a king size bed, and love seat sofa in the room. The bathroom as well was great.
In walking distance of everything.

I didn't like the pool, but you know what I'm a water person so i prefer a big pool, so I will not minus a star for this.

Overall an excellent Hotel. It can't be beat for walking to see historic sights in Old City. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and plenty of things to see that are walkable as well. Though I was here on business this hotel is perfect fro family trips because for the most part you can forget about the car. Plus the Hotel is a 1/2 block away from Septa.

My room was nice but I thought the bathroom was a little old for a suite in 4 star hotel.

Got a great rate on the internet-paid $111 for a $249 large room, king bed with luxurious linens, perfect view overlooking the square. Friendly staff, room was missing TV remote, called the desk and one was delivered within minutes. Only complaints: no robes (really love those robes in luxury hotels!) and no noise cover, as in a fan to blow air to cover the city and hotel sounds. Tried the radio, but the stations kind of sucked and couldn't see falling asleep to any of them...But it wasn't particularly noisy; I am just a light sleeper in hotels and like to have some kind of noise cover.
These are minor complaints. I enjoyed my stay. The location can't be beat and Philly is a fun city. Recommended!

Stayed here for four (weekday night) last week on a business trip.

Front Desk:
Checked in at almost 11pm after a 4-5 hour layover at O'Hare... the front desk was very helpful in getting me checked in fast, as well as making suggestions as to where I could get some late-night dinner.

The Room:
The rooms are nice. I got a two-double room, which I didn't need, but the rooms were nice and spacious. They had a wall-mounted LCD (32" perhaps). The beds were a tad bit on the stiff side... okay, there were quite stiff. Maybe it was the bed, but I had a really hard time falling asleep this trip... (my last trip to Philly, staying at the Sofitel -- I had NO problem passing out in the big box of feathers that was the mattress).

Showers/bathroom was clean. For a Four-Star hotel... I think it's time to upgrade to shower doors and leave the shower curtains behind --- even though they are clean... and coffee maker in the bathroom? Questionable. At least they had one.

The rooms are more of a "classic" nice -- not the euro-modern, 21st century, "nice"... but seeing how the hotel is literally on the adjacent block to Independence Hall... it's understandable.

Spa/Fitness Room:
Nice facilities... the fitness room/basement-level indoor pool/spa are part of the "Spa" -- so it's definitely nice... but not open 24-hours for you late-night gym rats. Nice bathroom/lockers in case you get a spa treatment, use the pool, etc..
BAD = no water fountain and no water bottles -- unless you want to buy one from the spa. This is the second hotel (out of 2) in Philly which doesn't have "free" water in a gym. Not cool.

Valet:
Always friendly, always fast (faster than the "10-15 minutes" they always say when you call in from your room).

OVERALL:
Nice hotel, great location, friendly staff. I'd definitely stay here the next time I have the time to explore the historical sites of Philly... great location close to many bars/restaurants in Olde City. (But on business trips... I think I'll stick with the Swanky Sofitel).

Just make sure you bring your own water to the gym.

My friend just got married at the Downtown Club, so everyone stayed at the Omni, and it was great.  Super convenient to Old City tourist attractions (the hotel is looking out at Independence Square w/ Liberty Bell, pretty old gardens and historic buildings) and bars.

Friendly and accommodating staff.  I was checked in within 2 minutes and they were very helpful.

The spa area was clean and nice and smelled like Aveda products.  bride, mom and 2 bridesmaids got hair and makeup done in the spa and everyone looked great.I hey did exactly what I asked with hair and makeup too. They were very flexible with requests and knew what they were doing.

I didn't get to do the fitness room and pool, but I heard that they're worth checking out and open until 10 pm.

The rooms were nice to start with but we TRASHED the bride and groom's suite rock star style with all sorts of silly decorations and partied in their room with them until 5 am.  No one cared although you could hear us from down the hall.  I heard there were similar shenanigans on other floors b/c of so many of us staying for the wedding.  So it was awesome that they just let us celebrate.

Only bad part was that the next day it took 30 min. to get our car from the valet parking, which felt like 1 hour since I was so hung over from the fun the night before.

I just stayed at the Omni in Philadelphia for work last week.  I got a great rate and had a really nice stay.  It's a very nice place and the service there was great.  The room was very nice and good amenities.  The bed may have been a little soft, but otherwise it was very nice.  Especially good was the free wifi and the fact that the speed of the wifi was really good.

Wow - this place is amazing.  A friend suggested that we stay in Olde City since it was convenient and very safe...I'm so glad we took his advise.  The hotel is conveniently located right on Independence Park and is as luxurious as you'd expect from an Omni hotel.  The staff was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgable.  Many hotels in the Center City/downtown area can be a bit seedy at night, even though they may look okay during the day, but hotels in Olde City are great at any time since they are very safe and the area is clean and pristine.  I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Philly for business or pleasure.  While this hotel can be expensive, it's worth the money since you are staying in 5-star excellence and in a very nice neighborhood.

Last summer, after visiting my family for a week, I decided to spend my last night at a hotel in town, rather than leave for the airport at 3am in the morning.

The Omni is a gem, right in the middle of the historic area. And extremely reasonable with AAA.

"Four stars" means something, I tell ya. 24 hour room service, pool, sauna, robes, pillows of your choosing.   I so enjoyed that night, I wish I could've stayed longer.

Fairly common property as far as Omni's go. What makes this place so fantastic is the location. Exit the hotel and go right to see all the landmarks. Exit to the left and your in Philly's version of SOHO.
