4 reviews for Omni Corpus Christi Hotel Marina Tower
This place is quite posh, probably one of the best places to stay in Corpus, but some of the comments about the hotel's customer service is possibly deserved.
The rooms are fantastic, the bathrooms are well appointed and the sheets are clean and comfortable. The view from your room is gonna be gorgeous since it looks right off at the marina. Towels are kinda thin for a 150/night hotel and really you should get an HDTV in your room at this price instead of the old tube TVs.
There are some bad points though. You cant open the door to the patio/deck, probably because of suicide prevention. The help desk while ok, don't seem to be very knowledgeable. For example I had been told by the company paying for my room that it was acceptable to check out anytime before 3, but everytime I asked them about checkout they told me prior to noon. So I checked out at 7 am in the morning, went to my interview and then came back, only to find out my room was still available till 3 pm. It was kind of a big hassle. Finally the company had booked me a room at the slightly nicer Omni Bayfront, about a block away and I had called the Bayfront to confirm 6 hrs prior to checkin that it was the Bayfront and not the Marina I was supposed to go to. When I arrived at the Bayfront they told me to go to the Marina instead, which was unusual because I was to meet some representative of the company I was interviewing for and they were expecting me at the lobby of the Bayfront while I was waiting at the lobby of the Marina.
Other negatives, they charge 7 bucks for overnight parking which may or may nor be enforced depending on what time you check in before 5 pm or after 5 pm when the attendant leaves. They charge 10 bucks for internet access even though Corpus has citywide free public Wifi (although the hotel wifi is much faster than the public wifi). And a coke at the store is 3.25 for a 20oz bottle, thats kind of outrageous.
Still if you're looking for a nice place to stay for the weekend the Omni, Bayfront or Marina, is probably your best option.
If it were possible to give a hotel 1/2 of a star, I would. The customer service at this property is horrible, simply horrible.
Was attending a conference in Corpus and this was one of the hotels for lodging. The wireless internet service was offline during the entire conference - with no explanation. This was a technology conference! The front desk was useless beyond taking your money for payment.
If the need arises for you to fax something (either because their internet is down or it's a legitimate fax), do yourself a favor and go to a Kinkos or just mail it!
The only redemptions were that the rooms and beds are about average for this class of hotel and the linens were clean and fresh. Beyond that, there is nothing else that I can say that is really good or outstanding about this hotel.
Perhaps the Omni Bayfront is better, but I don't think I will be staying at any Omni properties in the future if I can help it.
horrible horrible and horrible, I can't even get into what happened here it is just too much. I would never ever go back to this hotel or Corpus, there is nothing to do in this town the port is ugly and gross. Besides the hotel being horrible the whole town looked like it needed a make over. After driving all this way south I thought there would something to look forward to when I got there, but no it's an ugly place and I would never go back!
customer service is horrible.
room service is even worse.
the rooms are subpar.
the location is great but does not make up for the above mentioned.
