4.5 Stars but I'll round up.

The steaks are great in the freezer for those nites you want to eat something good but fast.  We've tried many of their sides or other non-steak items and its pretty dam good.

Take advantage of those coupon deals you get in the mail.  They're totally worth it!  And if you get it via online, they send it to you in a package with dry ice so you don't need to worry about your steaks thawing out.

I stopped buying steaks (and ham!!) at the grocery store after I discovered Omaha.  They are even competitively priced at $6-$12 (only if you order during their always occurring sales)  They are by far the best steaks-by-mail available (yet I'm always willing to try new!)

Unfortunately, fine-dining steakhouses are usually reserved for special occasions, mainly due to the costs associated with steakhouse dining. Omaha Steaks provides delicious, affordable, restaurant quality steaks delivered to your front door, or pick up at one of their two San Jose locations.

The pre-seasoned steaks do leave something do be desired, but I am a purist when it comes to beef.

Founded in 1917, Omaha is a family owned business that disperses a wide variety of steaks and gourmet side dishes, headquartered in Omaha, Neb.

If you purchase through their website the steaks arrive on a bed of dry ice. After a quick thaw these steaks are perfect on the grill or even broiled.

Whether carousing around San Jose or staying at home, steak is the answer.

Avid meat eaters who are picky about their cuts will greatly appreciate Omaha Steaks.  If you have ever been disappointed with the quality of steaks you find in your grocery store then you will be happy to hear that there is no such thing as a bad Omaha steak.  You can get any of their cuts, fillet mignon, rib eye, New York strip, or tri-tip and you will be happy you did.  Their steak burgers and  gourmet franks are pretty tasty.  The burgers don't shrink when you grill them because they meat is nice and lean.  This Christmas I actually ordered their spiral cut 7lb. ham and it was a big hit with my family.

Unfortunately, nothing is perfect.  As part of their promotions I've received their prepared gourmet meals, sole fillets, marinated chicken breasts, and marinated steaks.  Everything was way too salty or over seasoned.

If you're tired of paying $40-$50 for a steak and have some grilling skills then Omaha is an investment in meaty happiness.  Look for their deals and stock up on your beef.

Since I can't find the corporate address this will have to do even though I did this via mail order. For one thing the website sucks. I got this $100 gift card from a friend and you have to use the gift certificate in it's entirety for the order to go through and cleverly enough nothing works out to $100 exactly. So honestly getting a gift certificate from them bites because even though I have 100 bucks to spend I need to spend my own money. Lame!

But the 4 stars is for the fillet minion meal. Which we pan seared to tender moist perfection. It came with baked potatoes and a corn medley. When I opened the package and looked at the tiny file ts it was like oh no I paid this much for this? But actually everything combined was actually well portioned. The sauce packets were kind of nasty though, and we just threw them out. It was like the chicken ramen seasoning packets. Nasty!

But you know all in all this was good. I had been dying to try it actually since I have always seen the ads in those fancy magazines. Great quality meat and well prepared and shipped to my doorstep. Not bad Omaha not bad.

Great quality steak, but not something I'd usually buy. I think that it's overpriced, but I guess you generally pay about that much for eating steak at a steakhouse.  But thank goodness for the coupons that come in the mail! It's usually a ridiculous deal, like spend $50 dollars on 2 steaks, get 6 steak burgers free.

I only come when I have coupons. You should too.

A nice alternative to dining out - you can eat in the comforts of your home and eat good, quality steaks!  (haha, picture eating filet mignon in your jammies!) Sure, it's a little expensive, but they are always having wonderful specials, like it'll be over 50% off or they throw in free things, like cakes and steak burgers.

I have yet to try their cake, but I did try their filet mignon, lobster bisque, and stuffed mushrooms.  The bisque and mushrooms were on the salty side and the mushroom was oozing out oil.  The filet mignon was on the small size, but very tender.  I'm sticking with the meats here, maybe desserts, and I'll add my own appetizers.

They also sell specialty condiments, spice rubs, and pet beef jerky!  At checkout, they'll give you their cookbook for cooking/heating instructions.  It's not your weekly shopping destination, but it definitely makes your dining experience at home a little more special.

*Update - I did try their chocolate fudge cake and let me warn you, it's pretty rich.  That didn't stop me from enjoying it, though.  One slice is all it took.  One and half slices made me OD on chocolate, not a pretty sight.  And their 1/2 burgers are the perfect size for Orowheat buns, no shrinkage and really lean!
