Fantastic place! I was fortunate to be assigned to Mia on my first visit over a year ago! She takes time to get to know you, is very detail oriented in understanding what your needs are with your massage (aches, pains, injuries, etc). My massages are never the same - which I found at big name spa chains. Each session is unique which allows me to relax. Highly recommend!

If you're in Los Angeles looking for Swedish/deep tissue massage from real professionals who listen to what YOU want, schedule an appointment with Om.
Before Om it was difficult for me to find a good spa. I was getting deep tissue regularly over ten years ago, then tried Thai massage(never again), and was ready to find another Swedish/deep tissue therapist. At that time I was experiencing excruciating pain in my neck, shoulders, back and hands as the result of bad posture, stress and deadlines sitting at an office desk. Thankfully, I was recommended to Om by a friend.
This independently owned spa has the most attentive staff who do a phenomenal job in catering to the individual needs of the client, offering solid advice to ensure proper recovery. They do intake exams, keep charts, and really focus on HELPING, not digging in your wallet. They also offer discounts off their already reasonable prices for returning clientele.
I've been going there at least every other week for four months, and the results have been phenomenal. The pain in my neck and shoulders has gone down substantially since before I started, and I've even addressed problems that I didn't know existed, thanks to the massage therapists who have pointed out my old bad habits as far as posture and even breathing. They'll give you stretching/massage exercises to do at home, so part of the work has to come from you, but it's well worth it.
Julie, who has been my main massage therapist, is amazing, not only as a professional but as a human being. When I first went to Om, her easy going persona and humor made me feel totally comfortable right off the bat, and that's exactly what I needed since I hadn't had a proper deep tissue massage in over seven years. She's very thorough and has helped me tremendously.
The other therapist I've seen was Mia, who was also superb. She had a lot of strength in her hands, and it was as if she instinctively knew how to work to the muscle groups I was having trouble with and alleviate the pain in the most effective way possible. A true pro!
I recommended Om to a good friend who had Erin, and said she was amazing as well. I'd recommend Om to any of my friends, because I know they'd be taken care of. -

I stumbled across Om Organic Massage early in my pregnancy when hit with the unfortunate (very, very unfortunate) side effect of sciatica. Since my first visit, I've been back several times as I've found it to be not only affordable, but really helpful as my twin pregnancy has advanced.
I have typically seen Erin, who does a fantastic job of getting my 8-month pregnant, ultra-sore body in comfortable positions and to (eureka!) relax. She also offers belly work- which while a little weird at first, seems to really get my little in-utero monkeys to calm down (I guess these two little girls are getting spoiled early!) and take a rest from kicking my organs and ribs.
Om is very affordable, super friendly, and easy to get to. (Free parking at the lot near Citibank off of Honolulu) Another bonus for the other pregnant women out there, Om is just a few storefronts down from Bellies...Listed in: Things I Love

For years now, I have been relying solely on Joalena at Om for working out all my aches & pains. I am in love with her massages, which for me are a perfect balance of relaxing swedish & effective deep tissue. I agree with the other reviewer who talked about her strength...because Oh My Lanta! This woman can work out some serious knots!
I think what really sets Joalena apart from other massage therapists I've seen is her commitment to healing. She carries herself in a way that, from my very first visit, immediately put my mind at ease. She listens carefully to what I need, then seems to rely on an unparalleled intuition to guide herself through the rest of the massage. I stay extremely busy, and I suppose I must adapt well to pain because after every visit, I'm always surprised to feel relief in places I didn't even know were strained. I've never visited another therapist who was able to effectively rid me of so much pain. I highly recommend booking a massage with Joalena, and I would be stunned if you weren't compelled to come back. -

I wrote to Bloomspot and got a refund on the hot oil treatment. I really did not get much out of that massage. I got a $25 massage at Pampered Feet in Studio City that was better. I won't be back...and I don't understand the great reviews. Medium level, and over priced for what you get.

I've been going to my cheap and easy local Thai place for a couple of years now and while it has gotten the job done for the most part, there is just no substitute for a personalized attentive massage.
My back had been killing me for several days with knots and tension from work so I went to work here on Yelp and decided to give Om a try. I called for a last last minute appointment the same day and they were friendly, helpful and quick to accommodate.
When I arrived, Julie my therapist introduced herself and sat down with me for a few minutes asking about my goals for the massage and why I had come in. I told her I needed to be excorcised of the demons in my back. She listened patiently to all my complaints and told me we'd do a session tailored to all my woes.
90 Minutes later I walked out in a euphoric daze. The knots in my back all but gone. And you know you've had a damn good massage if all you want to do the next day is plant yourself on the couch and let your limber loosened limbs and body melt from the wringing it had.
Maybe miracle is a stretch, but this was a damn good massage! -

Well it's been a few years since I connected with Jennifer and during that time I had a handful of student massages :/ and a bunch of cheap foot reflexology massages from Asian places.
Maybe it's the onset of aging or wisdom (heh heh) but I realized it was time to treat myself and I contacted Jennifer T. for a 3 massage package. Went in Friday for an upper body massage and fell asleep. First time ever. I kept waking up because I blow air out of my mouth when I sleep on my back... Afterward I was trying to write a check for her tip and left the money box blank and kept spacing out from the euphoria.

Julie Buzzelli is one of the most effective Massage Professionals I have ever encountered. After all of my massages, 99% of my pain was gone. No one has ever done this for me. She also worked on my feet to help my bowel blockage, and I have been regular since her treatment. You do not know what you are missing. Stop searching and start using Julie. You will never use anyone else, once you have seen Julie.

Joalena is such an undiscovered talent in Montrose. I have been getting professional massage since I was 8 years old and I have a high standard for deep tissue massage. She gets all the right spots with the perfect amount of pressure. Which by the way, she has more strength than you could ever imagine possible from a female massage therapist! If you don't like deep tissue I would still recommend her. She has so much control and finesse she adapts easily to all your needs. I have not had one massage from her that was the same as the one before it. She customizes each massage based on what is going on with your body. Bought a groupon for a massage from Om. I made an appointment for my husband since he needed it more than me. He says the location was small but the massage was great. He was scheduled with Mia who he said was very professional. She asked him more questions about what he wanted done. He would definitely recommend her and go to her again.

I've been here three times now, had three different massage therapists, and loved each experience. I've gotten massages with Kat and Mia (as well as another person who I think is no longer at Om), and both of those experiences were really good.
When I went for the first time, I had never had any professional massage before, and was nervous that even if I said that I had some fairly intense and chronic back pain, that they would still hurt me! But what happened was that Kat and Mia both took the time to ask me what areas of my body I wanted them to focus on, what type of touch is comfortable for me, and if there were areas that I didn't want to have touched. I felt so comfortable! The massages I've had have been amazing. Mia really works to incorporate your feedback as you go, and offers gentle encouragement to help you relax along the way (like "if you can, imagine that your whole body is melting into the table"). I loved the reminders to keep attention on my breath and on relaxing myself.
One note, and I can imagine that most people won't care about this, but there might be a precious few who will be really glad to know, so I am adding it for those people: none of the massage therapists I've worked with at Om have asked about scars on my body or pushed me into any discussion about them. I really appreciate this detail, because I think that it sometimes feels very invasive to be asked questions like that, and if it is relevant to the massage experience (like "I had a back surgery 3 years ago" or whatever), people will probably offer up the information themselves. It's really nice not to be prodded unnecessarily about something that might, for some people, involve traumatic experiences or just might be something they'd rather not discuss unless there is a medical reason.
Signing up for the email list means getting coupons on Thursday or Friday to schedule "last minute" appointments on Saturday or Sunday at a huge discount! If you pay in the studio, they accept cash or checks, but you can also prepay online with a credit card, via Paypal, which is super convenient.
I love Om, and feel as though I'm in very capable hands there! -

I got a prenatal massage with Meg a while back (2 months ago). Just a little info about myself, I've gotten lots of professional massages. And usually I get deep tissue massages but it was my first pregnancy massage and I didn't know what to expect. Usually I get annoyed during those massages where I feel like the masseuse just moves my skin around (light, swedish massages). So I was hesitant to even schedule a prenatal massage.
I thought my massage was relaxing. The place was pretty cute and definitely cozy. I didn't feel like she got any tension or knots out of my super achy shoulders or back. Just moved her hands around in a swirling motion all over my body. Did I feel relaxed to the brink of passing out on the table? No. Maybe I'll try out another prenatal massage with someone else. -

This is by far the best massage I have ever had. Mia was awesome! She really focused on where I was having the most tension and was always sure to ask me how she was doing and if I need more or less pressure. She really felt like she knew what she was doing. Afterwards, she gave me a glass of water and took the time to talk to me about the massage and gave me recommendations on how to relieve stress or work out any tight spots. And what she hoped to focus on more, if I decide to go back...which I totally am!

I live within walking distance from this studio, and if it wasn't for a groupon deal, I would never have know this existed. My massage was amazing! Darlene, the masseuse who worked on me, talked with me before the massage to discuss any problem areas - upper back and neck from years of being a studious student hunched over books - and she spent the one hour swedish massage focusing on those areas. Afterwards, I felt amazing.
I can not wait to book my next appointment. (Well, I can actually, gotta save up some money first!) But I will definitely be coming back! -

Om Om OMIGAWD! Like WOW! I LOVE Darlene. she's this very petite lady (more petite than i, and i'm quite petite), but boy does she have strength. i came here during Yelp's Hawt week and had a 60-min deep tissue. i asked her for deeper pressure since i had been there the week before for a 30-min, so i was pretty sure i could use more this time. boy was she INCREDIBLE. i had come in quite harried from trying to get there in time from work and fighting traffic... but about 15 minutes into the session, i was SO ready to fall asleep. she sent all my worries far far away... in fact, she took me so far away that i was inspired to write my last poem... MUSH! now you know she took me to another realm! but yes, very strong woman. she was surprised at how much pressure i could take and told me afterwards that i'd put some men to shame!! ha - so watch out for her boys!
the ladies at this small, quaint boutique are so wonderful and warm. and there are always home-baked goods in the little lobby. who would've known this tiny haven existed in my neighborhood?!! i love that can be home in 5 mins and get straight into bed after my massage LOL! can't wait till my next visit. -

They should change their name to OMG Organic Massage because my massage was AWESOME!
I'm 33 weeks pregnant and have been having some pain in my lower left back. I was a little worried at first because Kat was unavailable and she's the most reviewed here. But I trusted the receptionist and booked an appointment for a prenatal massage with Julie. SO glad I did! This was no wussy Swedish light stroke pregnancy massage - I told her I liked deep tissue and she was able to really dig into my neck, shoulders, and back to relieve the pain. There are apparently three muscle bands that have seriously tightened up in my lower back, which she was able to loosen up significantly. They were too far gone to get out in one session, so I guess I'll just have to go back. Darn! ;)
The place is tiny, but has great ambience, free parking, wonderful staff, and is very reasonably priced. Highly, highly recommend! -

Having read the Yelp reviews for Kat and company at Om Organic Massage (and having never had a massage before) I was a little under the impression that they only massaged pregnant women.
I assure you this is not the case. When I went in for my massage I was not pregnant, immediately following my massage I was still not and even now, a few weeks later, I remain un-pregnant.
That being said, I have absolutely no basis of comparison but I thought that my massage was great, priced just right (according to my nerdy research) and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I only wish that I could afford to do it all the time. -

I've been back a few times and have experienced other wonderful therapists here...most notably, "Jennifer", who is trained in lymphatic drainage massage. I know, I know-- that sounds a little scary. But I had always wanted to try it and before my last session began, let Jennifer know that I was interested in this. She said she would tack it on to the last few minutes of the Swedish I had booked, just to give me an idea of what it felt like.
I have to admit, in the first few moments I thought to myself: "oh no! this is gonna be one of those 'mystical healing but not really doing anything' type pressure. Jennifer had explained to me beforehand that this type of massage was good for parasympathetic nervous system issues (EG: it could help with my chronic insomnia!). About a minute or two in, all of a sudden I was fighting sleep! And then again a minute later! What the heck??
After I drove away from Om Organic, I felt a lightness and spring to my step for the rest of my day. My energy level was fantastic...I was alert, yet very calm. I drank tons of water (as is recommended for any massage) and that night, I fell asleep!
It was such a great experience, I've signed up for a package deal!

I've decided that as much as I like the $15 chinese foot massage places, I need to a real massage now and then. Thank god I live close to Om, because it's a real hidden gem in my neck of the woods (a.k.a. boring suburbs). My body is constantly all out of sorts, after being 2 minor car accidents, working crazy night shifts, and plethora of old injuries. When I can't take it anymore, I come here to achieve some transcendental bliss from my seemingly-normal-but-pain-wrecked-mortal-coil.

Anyways, I always get the om signature massage, which is like a mixture of techniques and I don't really pay attention because I'm busy feeling too relaxed to care. If you sign up for the mailing list, they give you weekly updates on deals and availability for the week. Pretty awesome (and affordable). The website also has coupons. It's a pretty small place, but I like it better that way because it feels more personal and cozy and secluded. The therapists are all pretty good, and they really pay attention to all the problem areas. It's like they have a sixth sense for zooming in on all my knots, and other places that I didn't even think about (for example, my butt... I know it sounds funny, but it felt really good when it was massaged).
I love this place because 1.) it's affordable, 2.) easy parking, 3.) great service. There's plenty of free parking, especially around the Citibank lot. -

I had a pregnancy massage by Kat last night. She was absolutely incredible! I've had this horrible pain in my hips and she is the only person who's been able to pinpoint the pain and provide some relief. I feel great this morning!
Her studio is very calming and soothing. Its a small little room with a massage table, a couch, and some simple accents. Don't come here expecting a full spa treatment. Just come expecting an incredible massage.
Kat is very friendly and down-to-earth. She is very good at what she does and is extremely knowledgable. She taught me some great stretches I can do, as well. Her prices are also very reasonable. Can't beat that! Oh, and the best part, my appointment was at 8pm on a Friday night. Talk about flexible scheduling. -

I found Om Organic through Yelp looking for a place that did prenatal or pregnancy massage. The prices are so much more reasonable than Burke Williams ($170 for 80 min. massage at BW v. $100 for 90 min. massage at OO).
They no longer have their location on Brand Blvd. so depending on the service and masseuse that you need you will have to drive to one of a few locations in the Glendale/ Montrose area.
I had a pregnancy massage with Kat and it was WONDERFUL. I was almost 36 weeks pregnant and very uncomfortable. My back and shoulders were so sore because I still continued to work and I could not find a suitable position to sleep in. It has been three days since my massage and my back and shoulders to not feel pregnant like they did a few days ago (does that even make sense?)! I would highly recommend Om Organic and am very much looking forward to using their services again... husband permitting of course.Listed in: My Neighborhood

I went in for a pregnancy massage and left in more pain than I started. It didn't help that the therapist was running late, got me in the room 10 minutes late and then left me there for another 15 minutes while she helped a walk in client. It's a very small place, so I could of course hear everything that was going on in the reception area. Needless to say - I won't be back.

Kat is wonderful! I've always had back pain and am always looking for a good (and not too expensive) place for a massage. Being pregnant added to by back ache so I turned to Yelp to find a place and thanks to Kelley B.'s review, I decided to try Om Organic Massage.
LOVED IT! I've made it there once a month and plan to continue after I have the baby. Kat sits with you before each session to understand any aches or discomforts you've been feeling. She also shows you different techniques and remedies you can try on your own. She provides a holistic, humble, and soothing experience. Her positive energy and belief that massage is key radiates through. She also is very knowledgeable of birthing practices and even offered to let me borrow a book from her library.
Call quick and make an appointment! She books up pretty quickly so don't waste any time. -

*Disclaimer* This is the first and only massage parlor I've been to in the continental United States (well, not counting any free ones they give away at charity events or through my work).
This place is cute and cozy..and a bit hard to find if you're just walking on Honolulu. I scheduled my appointment and they said someone would call to confirm but I ended up calling them the day before my appointment since I haven't heard from them. Luckily, my appointment with Meg was good to go. I got the OM Signature massage and man, I did not want to leave that place once she was done with me. I think if I ever get some extra dough, I will revisit this place..it's reasonably priced and has a personal feel to it. I feel like I couldn't give it a perfect 5 star because I really don't have anything to compare it to, but I did enjoy my experience here. -

had a great massage here... but actually i did something different.
i went for the abhyanga oil treatment. i needed to relax somehow before i started school. julie was my amazing therapist as she listened to my concerns, and did wonders as she was massaging my upper back. she does pay attention to the kinks which i liked. the oil treatment involves the hair... so my head was soaked in oil and my head was massaged, too.
i've been beaten and wrangled by those chinese reflexology massage places, and had hot stone, thai, and swedish massages. i was open to trying something new and different, and i never walked away feeling so good from the oil treatment compared to the other mentioned massages.
when i washed off the oil, my hair felt so soft... i liked it. i don't think the softness lasted very long, but i'm definitely coming back. -

I had the BEST massage ever. I've been everywhere from Korean spas to Chinese foot massage places to 5-star spas in Vegas -- and nothing compares. There's something therapeutic about OMs massages -- it's more healing than just a 'relaxation' massage. I found that the pain in my right shoulder went away for weeks after my massage here. I highly recommend.

Mia is an amazing therapist!
She was detailed in her approach to gathering information about my particular needs, and then thoughtfully applied the information that I gave her. The result was a relaxing, therapeutic massage that left me feeling invigorated and 1000 X better than when I arrived. I am mid-way through treatment for breast cancer, so needless to say - I have a few aches and pains and general discomfort. Mia accommodated my request to not lay on my stomach, and found a table set-up and positions that allowed me to relax and get the maximum benefit from her work. The staff is kind and professional, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of work that they provide.
The *only* reason why I did not give Om five stars is because the place is pretty tiny, and the massage rooms are in close proximity to the reception desk - so the occasional phone call can distract. That said, Om obviously cares about its clientelle, and hires really amazing people to do great body work! -

Customer service is awful!!!! I signed up for my massage session a week in advance. I had the emergency situation so I called them three times and left 2 voices mail to reschedule my appointment, but nobody called me back. 1 star from me, because all business like spa centers must have excellent customer service, not only specialized professional service.

Amazing and affordable! If you sign up to be on the OM mailing list, you even get offers for discounted massages. The building is peaceful and the nicest thing was the masseuses definitely spend the whole time working on you. Parking is adjacent to the building and they are a CASH ONLY establishment. The couples massage is not in the same room as your significant other, because the rooms are not big enough for 2 tables. HOWEVER, I will most definitely be back. The quality was fantastic

This place is a scheduling nightmare! Sure I hear and read that the massages are great but beware, these people are flaky and unprofessional.
I scheduled a couple's massage for Valentine's Day 2010 at 6:00pm for my date and I. I called about 3 days in advance to reserve. The date was confirmed and I was ready to go. Then I get a call at mid-day on Valentine's Day, "Sorry but we are canceling you." I was disappointed but I was nice and accepted to re-schedule with a 50% discount. I just had to figure out how to break it to my sweetie gently.
The re-scheduled date was for Monday, the day after Valentine's Day at 4pm. Mid-day the same day, once more I get a call, "Sorry but we need to move your appointment to a later time in the day." That was it, I was furious. I was nice enough to let go of the first incident even though it was a major Valentine's day blunder. But enough was enought and I rejected doing further business with these clowns.
Too bad. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the massages here but I have my dignity and I believe in exceptional customer service. Apparently these folks at Organic Massage in Montrose don't. -

This place is really great. I've been doing the lower priced massages lately (e.g. chair massages at the mall, discount massage places) and they are OK and feel good. But it really makes a difference when the massage therapist is well trained and knows how to release the tension that you have. My massage therapist was Mia. She seemed to be very knowledgeable about how bodies work and was able to help me get rid of some ongoing neck and shoulder pain. She spent time before the massage to talk to me about what I wanted and asked how much time I wanted her to spend on each part that was bothering me. She asked a few times throughout the massage how the pressure was. I had told her that I like medium to firm pressure, but she was able to tell the places that were a bit more tender and backed off from them.
Bonus - After the massage, she let me know that my pec muscles are tight and contribute to tightness in my neck and between my shoulder blades ( I had no idea this could happen). She showed me some stretches to do at home to help this out. She also encouraged me to do some exercises for my plantar fasciitis (pain/inflammation in the arches of your feet). Overall an amazing massage with an amazing massage therapist. -

My body was sooo stiff from stress and my bf had sore muscles after his soccer game. After searching for a good massage place we chose here because of all the good reviews and convenience since its close to where I live. It was a very pleasant experience.. With rain, gloomy weather and calming/cozy environment.. I was really relaxed. However, the pressure wasn't as much as I wanted. Maybe I'll go for deep tissue massage next time.

Just got home from my first massage with Om. It was truly wonderful! Mia was the one to give me my massage, and she was just great. We sat down and chatted for a few minutes to go over some of my issues, and then I had the 90 minute deep tissue massage. It was my first one in a long time, and she was careful to explain everything and check in about the pressure. Afterwards we chatted again and she gave me little things to do throughout the day to continue to relieve tention.
The Om space is really pleasant. A tiny studio, but everyone I interacted with was very friendly. I highly recommend that you check this place out. I walked out feeling much taller and lighter, and am looking forward to keeping my life more stress free.

Genuinely, sincerely one of the best massages I have ever had -- and I have been lucky enough to enjoy many massages throughout the United States. Meg was fantastic, overall vibe was very personal and cozy. Another little gem in Montrose!!

All reviews prior to my review have given the highest of ratings, and I'm joining the club without an ounce of reservation. A month ago I received probably the worst pregnancy massage in history from another place in Sherman Oaks. I was so disappointed that I called my BFF to vent. She felt so bad because she knew I really wanted a good massage to help with my pregnancy tension headaches, so she researched places for me to do a "make-up" session and Om Organic Massage was one of them. I checked out their Web site, and it was obvious that this was the place my pregnant self needed to be.
I called in hope to get in with Kat, since she came so highly recommended by the other fellow Yelpers. Unfortunately, she was unavailable so she paired me up with her colleague and reassured me that I would be in good hands. She was right! Jennifer was an amazing therapist and provided the perfect "make up" massage session. She welcomed me when I entered, sat me down and talked to me about my problem areas, and then carefully talked me through what she would do. I love that their new client questionnaire asks what body parts you are comfortable with the therapists massaging. I thought this was particularly impressive because I have some girlfriends who don't like their face massaged, or their feet touched, so it showed their attention to personalization. She also gave me belly massage options. Since it was (sort of) my first prego massage and I wasn't sure if I wanted a belly rub, we decided she would do a reiki technique over my belly to close out the session, which basically meant she sent energy to my baby by holding her hands over the belly (think Mr. Miyagi when Daniel-son got his knee swiped, and Mr. Miyagi clapped his hands together and healed Daniel-son's knee, but minus the hand clapping and it was virtual touching).
After my session ended, she didn't rush me out the door, but sat me down and talked to me about the experience and gave me tips. Jennifer was amazing! Did I say that already? She also suggested that I try Kat so that I would feel comfortable with both of them, in the event one was unavailable, and also because Kat is a mother herself and would be able to provide her own personal tips and share her experiences.
Today I had a session with Kat and she was incredible. I'm almost 19 weeks pregs now, and it's getting uncomfy to sleep on my back, which has caused stiffness in my left shoulder and lower back pains. Kat massaged out my kinks and applied the perfect amount of pressure where needed, but applied lighter pressure in the areas that would affect the baby. A true pregnancy massage therapist professional! This time she opted for the hands on belly rub and it was very relaxing. After my massage, she showed me ways I could give myself a massage to release tension in certain areas in my back, showed me ways to sleep more comfortably on my side and how to stretch my lower back as my belly gets bigger. She's clearly very knowledgeable about pregnancy and how the body changes during the different stages and how to treat the common ailments that come with the territory.
My experiences with Om have been the best. So great that I've already scheduled my next session. If you're pregnant or just want a great, personalized massage I highly recommend going. If you're pregnant, skip the Burke Williams or other chain or random massage places and go directly to Om. You will not be disappointed!!!!

OMG... I love Kat! It's rare when you find the one with the magical touch and she has it for sure! I love to pamper myself and have been to see many therapists, from Burke to the agressive Korean spas. I'm four months pregnant and have been seeing Kat every 2 weeks and am hooked!

I was looking for a place to provide a good prenatal massage. I was not interested in spas like Burke Williams because I knew I was not going to use their amenities such as the jacuzzi or sauna (even though I would love too) so I opted for Om. And it was $85.00 for a 60 minute massage (the time flew). I really enjoyed Kat's focused massage. It truly relaxed me at the time I was about 6 months pregnant. I want to go back before I deliver! She also shared some tips of what I can do at home to help and relax. I would highly recommend it.
